Given America's penchant for big, gas-guzzling vehicles, are they popular (or even widely available) in Nigeria? Which ones seem to be preferred?

yes, if you go through the post in the auto section, you'll notice most of the cars are imported from america wink

nothing like global warming to the average nigerian- the bigger the engine (the more gas it guzzles) the better grin

Thanks, Dis Guy!

I was wondering because I know that some American auto companies make vehicles for markets other than the US. GM's Opel division, for example, doesn't sell cars in the US, but is big in Europe. Holdens are big in Australia. Some Nissan and Toyota models sell in virtually every other market except the US. Also, some models sell under different names and configurations.

Incidentally, does Nigeria have much of an auto industry?

Not too sure if we have a full auto industry but the peugot plant has been there for a long time now, peugot is assembled in nigeria under liecense,
I think some people are triyng to put together a car manufacturing plant but they are looking for money support from the government undecided

we import [almost] everything in this country; it's easier that way grin
