Honestly I don't have first hand info on the implications of not taking vaccines as when due but I know there are reasons why these vaccines are scheduled according to a child's age/growth milestones. Please take out time on your own and visit other health centers to ask questions as soon as you can. You might be lucky to get recommendation from the health workers and get the shot just intime
Cheers

Will do so, thank you

Good day mums. Please mums of older kids, how did you potty train them? My baby is 14 months old and I honestly do not know how to start the potty training. I have tried putting her on the potty a couple of times but she ends up standing up, probably thinking we are playing.
Or is it too early to potty train?

Good morning Mummies, officially reporting to the Newborn thread even though I've been here for long..

Please mums, I put to bed on Monday morning but my baby has been on oxygen and IV fluids since then, they said till her breathing is stabilised cos they won't want food or anything mistakenly entering her airways. Fortunately I didn't start lactating immediately but since yesterday I've been flowing... I can't express and keep the milk cos of light issues... Baby has not taken colostrum (someone said for 2 weeks the breast still produces colostrum), should I just squeeze and throw it away to prevent pains? Please I need help before the pains fully sets in

Hello Sabi mamas. I have a very good product for lactation. If your breast milk doesn't flow as it should, this product is for you.

It's 5,000 naira, but will refund 2,500 if after 7 days you don't see reasonable changes.

Payment is upon delivery if you are within Kubwa axis in Abuja and outside this axis payment is after delivery.

Hello Mamas. I took my baby to get his one-year vaccines (chickenpox, MMR and vitamin A) but the hospital I use didn't have the chickenpox vaccine. They said it's not been available for a while, and they promised to call when it is.

I'm worried about not getting his shot early, as there is no guarantee of when it will be available. Is there any implication in delaying the shot?

Also, I'll greatly appreciate it if anyone recommends a hospital on the mainland (Lagos) currently administering the vaccine.

Thank you, mamas.
Chicken pox, MMR is not even one of the scheduled immunizations in Nigeria, its optional. This why many health centers dont have it, and if u insist on taking it in government facilities, u pay for it unlike the scheduled ones which are free. Your baby is due for d vaccine FROM one year to about 15months or more.So , if ur baby missed it at 12months, it can still b taken anytime before 18months,meaning ur baby is still......... Walk into Lasuth immunization center on any Thursday, ask d nurses if its available ( explain to them d one d baby already took cos u pay 4 Chicken pox, MMR together). Most times its available sha. Its a private immunization, so dont worry about being delayed. You pay and get d shot immediately ,u dont follow any protocol like others that came for d scheduled vaccine.

Thank you so much for this. I went to the closest centre to my house and they didn't have it. I'll just go to Lasuth then. I really appreciate

Yes, go to Lasuth. Dont pick number at d entrance, tell them u are taking " private vaccine ". Walk straight to any of the matrons, explain to her, show her ur card and tell her d one u want to take, if available, u will b told d amount and where to pay. After paying, go back with d receipt and ur baby will IMMEDIATELY get d shot. I guess the vaccine should b 2 doses, so, prepare to come exactly a month after for 2nd dose ( ask d nurses sha). NOTE : private vaccine at Lasuth can b taken any day of d week, I prefer u going thursday cos the availability of the vaccine is 80% sure on that day ( thats d day babies 6months and above get their vaccine). If thursday aint convenient, u can go any day of d week. Take care.

Please what is the difference between a baby bouncer and baby rocker?
If any, which brand/product name (pls attach price too) would you recommend and what age range can be placed on it. I am just looking for the best equipment to keep my baby in sight while I tend to house chores.
Thanks

Hello mama's,
So after the birth of my second child in May 2020, we decided I go for implanon FP in July. Hubby didn't want me to because of the side effects he's been reading online. I assured him body differs and he said if I notice anything odd I should removed it.

I saw my AF shortly after and it was normal but thereafter, I didn't see it for several months and then it comes once in a while and goes after few days. No headaches or body weight gained and I felt it's normal.

However, towards the mid/ending of last year, It became quite frequent especially after I fully stopped breastfeeding. It will come and last for over a week and I still felt quite safe but last December, it lasted for more than 2weeks (it entered January), then February to April it was normal 1week or less.

Now the problem is I've been on my period since 1st of May till today 21st of May. It looked like it ended after 5days with just spotting but about 2 days later, it continued and has been like that till date and it's really alarming and worrisome. That's why I've come to experienced mothers here.

At this point, please is it still normal or I should just go to the clinic? What do I do please?

Sorry for the long write up
