My sis, shame caught me as I saw that pic so I'm bringing out the potty. I guess you can start. Ozycy, please how do you get her to sit still, because that is my problem with our current potty training.

Some mamas suggest steaming with hot water and Robb, but I would be so worried to do it because of fear of accidents. There is a very overpriced baby Robb for about N1200 for a small bottle. Eucalyptus oil can be applied but I think a drop on the fontanelle is all. I'm sure some sabi mamas have an idea.

For Asaba mamas,I had to do a search for a hospital that gives the vaccine because all the health centres don't have it but at the last centre one Don Jazzy nurse now said I should go to St Luke Hospital that that's the only hospital that has it.Got there, was told immunization day is Monday's only and Rotavirus is 9k.mind you my twins will be 6 months on the 24th but learnt they can still take it.I just cajole the nurse on duty if I can bring them to take it today and she said yes because she's less busy so they took their first dose today. smiley Now I can worry less about my princess teething poo spree. wink

Hahaha. It's not an epistle o. I just tried to put down the few things i learnt from my experience recovering from a csection.
Here you go:

Donts

- Don't use a postpartum belt or abdominal binder until 6weeks. And that also depends on your doctor. If he thinks you're okay and healed enough to use it, then go ahead. Your health is more important than your appearance.

- Don't skip the painkillers you were given after the operation. They will help you manage any pain you will experience after the operation.

- Don't drive immediately after your c-section. Wait till at least 6weeks and give your body time to heal to some extent.

- Don't give up on breastfeeding. Breastfeeding after csection can be very exhausting. Yes, the first 3weeks was hell for me. I hated breastfeeding but i had made up my mind to be on EBF for my baby because my milk was flowing very well, so i had to no excuse to give formula.
I started experimenting with different positions and i found the one that was comfortable for me.

- Don't start exercising until about six to eight weeks after your c-section. I learnt that it generally takes about 6weeks for your tissues to heal. Confirm from your doc too and let him give you the go ahead before you start.

- Don't bend or lift anything heavier than your baby for the first few weeks, to avoid putting a strain on your stitches.

- Don't do it all alone. Accept help and let friends and family help you around the house. In most cases our mums or mil are always around to help out. If they are unavailable for some reasons, find someone else to be with you.

- If you live in a duplex, don't spend too much time going up and down the stairs. When i went home to be with my parents, i was banned from going downstairs. The few days i stubbornly climbed the stairs several times, i ended up in pains.

- Don't hunch your back when walking. I fell victim to this until i learnt otherwise. Straighten your body. It will help you recover faster because it strengthens your tummy muscles.

- Don't stress your body with a sitz bath. It's majorly for those who delivered vaginally and had an episiotomy, a tear. Don't worry yourself. Your vjay is still in good shape. I guess its our compensation for all the csection wahala.

Dos

- Always check your wound. I use a standing mirror to take a look at mine every morning. That way you can tell if there is any issue. That is how i discovered my incision was opening up again.

- Make sure that you only wear comfortable loose fitting clothes for the first few weeks to avoid it rubbing against sore region of your body.
In my own case, i stuck with gowns and high waist pants. I even shopped for high waist lingerie so it won't rub on my incision.

I'll update the list as i remember more

my boy had it too, very irritating thing especially when his hair use to fall out in chunks with his scalp(eeeewh),there was nothing I didn't do.well a woman later brought me some red flowers (Google red acalypha plant and see if its planted in your neighbourhood),I washed it and boiled,it was the water that I was using to bath him morning n night in less than 5 days,it disappeared(I couldn't believe it),then use coconut oil as the cream both on the hair ,allow the hair to dry before combing.

Thanks, pls do u know it local or igbo name. It quit difficult to find around my area.

I collected my books today. All in all I will say the books are Ok and my kids love them. At least I heard the books weren't brand new so that made me prepare my mind. Some of the books actually do not have sign that shows it has been used while few had few writings and stickers on them, not a problem for me dou.

So kidco, try and improve on your shipping and handling cos I actually requested you pack my books separately just like every other person in my group but you packed everything together and Nita had to stress herself to sort them accordingly.
Thanks for the extra 1 book btw.

You did not even by mistake include even one singing or pop up book in our order. Is that how you do cry smiley

Na waoo tot I begged u to kip me posted?

Pls PM me the pick up address abi am I not in dis particular group?

Na gode

Red Acalypha. Don't know its traditional name but show tgem the picture. There is a green plant that looks like it (Beregonia) but doesn't have the same anti-fungal properties of Red Acalypha. Go to those gardeners on the side of the street and ask for it. HTH

Its really frustrating to see your LO battle with blocked nose. I almost cried for him.

Try not to expose your LO too much but at the same time, let your LO receive some fresh air to help clear the lungs.

I used silverbird eucalyptus oil. Using it directly is very very harsh for babies, so i mixed a little drop with half bottle of baby oil to dilute it and was dropping it on his fontanelle morning and evening. Using it undiluted can burn his head.
I also sprinkle one or two undiluted drops of the eucalyptus oil on his bib and use some for steam inhalation.

Then i rub shea butter(ori) on his back, chest and nose.

With time, his nose cleared totally.

You're not alone at all. I always dread bath time with mine because i have to be super careful else he'll hurt himself. Its either he is climbing and kicking the bucket of water away or trying to walk when i'm washing his bum.

Just make sure you have it all on camera... cheesy
