Hi all, one of the staff of my company sent this to everyone including the MD in my company. I have to keep everyone's mind in the company at rest. What is your opinion about this?

Please read the following issued by FBI:

Hundreds of thousands of Internet users whose computers are infected with a particularly nasty virus will be unable to access the Web starting on Monday.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation will shut down Internet servers that it temporarily set up to support those affected by malicious software, called DNSChanger.
Turning off those servers will knock all those still infected offline.

The servers the cybercriminals set up redirected search traffic to their own rogue servers, bypassing Google (GOOG, Fortune 500), Microsoft's (MSFT, Fortune 500)
Bing or other search engines' servers. Users would be shown fake search results that sent them to spoofed websites with manipulated online ads.
The malware also prevented users from updating their operating systems or anti-virus software, which may have detected the virus.

Internet users across the world have been warned that if they have the "Alureon/ DNS Changer bot" virus on their computers, they will lose their Internet connections
July 9. The virus "spoofs" popular websites in an attempt to steal personal information. The software found its way into thousands of computers worldwide last year. It redirect users away from trusted websites, towards spoof websites in a bid to steal financial and personal information.

When the attack was noticed, the FBI routed infected machines through its server to stop the attacks. But the servers will be taken down July 9. When this happens, computers still infected are likely to lose their internet connection without warning.

Multiple websites have been setup to check if your computer is infected. some of them is DNSChanger Check-Up , www.dns-ok.us
Simply visit the website and if you see green colour, your computer is clean.

Its been discussed severally here on the forum, and its no hoax.

BTW, tomorrow is the 9th Of July! Windows and Mac OS were the primary targets, with several of them still oblivious of the fact that they are infected. Only linux OS was spared!

With what authority do you speak to say the site isn't genuine? You are so "knowledgeable" obviously that you didn't even take time out to google it out first. Maybe then you'd see the truth. A quick search on the FBI website would reveal this statement. Yet you ask for official statement from a blog? Dude are you for real? Do you know what a blog is? Virus!!! Could it be the reason why everytime I try to use Google, it shows me a CAPTCHA, telling me that "their systems have detected unusual traffic from my I.P"?
If it is, then I hope they fix it quick. Cause google search on mobile is now being limited to 3 results per page.
