Qualifications: • A tertiary qualification – Preferably B. Sc Computer Science • OCP (Oracle 9i) Experience and Training:• Three (3) years Oracle Database Administration experience • At lease one (1) year Production Oracle Administration experience
Job Summary:• Carry out daily monitoring of Oracle Databases • Compilation of daily, weekly and monthly status reports• Perform and automate administrative tasks and create custom administrative tools• Back up databases and implement a backup strategy • Restore databases • Monitor and optimise Oracle Databases performance • Transfer and migrate data into databases • Maintain the high availability of Oracle Database • Replicate data from one Oracle Database to another • Perform support functions down to the last line of support before escalating to supplier• Ensure that security and integrity of the databases are maintained at all times • Provide inputs into planning/designing of DBA implementation according to standards and guidelines • Perform functionality and acceptance tests with respect to DBA implementation• Analyse incidents/requests/problems on the databases and proffer solutions
