Abuja Residents Please Confirm

In keeping with our promise of holding this Government to account it's been more than two year we reported about the Wheelie Bin contract which President Jonathan approved so here is our question to Abuja residents. Please if you do not live right inside Abuja city, do not comment on this but you can comment generally to the Abuse of Office.

In 2010, then acting President Jonathan approved the importation of 60, 000 wheelie Bins exactly the type in the picture to be distributed to Abuja city. The total cost approval was 1billion Naira
''Fec Approves ₦927 600,000m (£3,716,170.10) For Fct Waste Bins'' you can do a search on google with the line quoted before you think we are bunch of rumor mongers.

1-This contract was awarded to a company called Pentagon Group of Companies, if you 're a lawyer, please look them up, tell us who owns this company. Also use FOI bill to seek full information to ascertain if this contract was executed. The contractor was given 12 weeks to supply this 60,000 units from UK

2-This wheelie bins according to the contract is to be imported from UK.

3-In the UK, the price of a wheelie bin like the one in the picture which is the type they intended to import cost £40.00 pounds this amount excludes VAT per one. Our investigation as far back as in 2010 we did contact one of the biggest supplies of this waste bin in the uk, we were told that if we were going to order 60,000 units of this wheelie bin, that the price will be cheaper hence the quantity bargain would have taken into account. They offered us a price for each £30.00 per unit.

4-The Pentagon Group quoted per unit to be supplied at £62.00 per unit there by making almost £40.00 per one supplied if indeed that this contract was executed. So lets do the maths £40.00 X 60,000 = £2,400,000(Two Million Four Hundred Thousands Pounds) Profit. This figure is what they were almost going to make in profit.

Finally, any sane leader would have realized that we must support our industries in order for them to grow. We have many plastic industries in Nigeria & to have wasted 1billion Naira to import waste bin from the UK is an insult to this nation. Are we surprised? NO because we import tooth pick too from China so why not waste bin.

Can somebody tells us if they received this bin in Abuja because the FCT minister said that these bins will be distributed & the monies recovered from you for importing what Eleganza & other plastic manufacturers should have manufactured in Nigeria.

Just imagine how many jobs this could have generated in Nigeria had it not been we have a clueless leader today. Just Imagine how many of our youths this contract would have kept out of the streets assuming if this project was awarded to an indigenous Nigerian manufacturer.

PART OF TRANSFORMATION OF NIGERIA, IS IT NOT?
