PoliticsRe: Adams Oshimole Governor Of Edo State : Kudos To The Learned Judges by aderaskeey(m): 5:20pm On Mar 20, 2008
I reject this idea that seem to suggest that the ruling came about because Osunbor fell out with his political godfathers. In that case it should be kudos to the godfathers and not to the learned judges. And that is wrong, give the judiciary its noble place in this fight, not the godfathers.

This is good news and a ray of hope for the Nigerian masses. It was indeed a "Stolen Mandate" returned by the judiciary as reported by The News of Change at http://thenewsofchange.com/index.php?topic=9.0

Congrats to the peoples governor in-waiting.
PoliticsRe: Dr Mike Adenuga In Trouble With EFCC by aderaskeey(m): 2:11pm On Aug 21, 2006
@Odeku, just like the heroes of democracy had to flee abroad (a la NADECO aka. Agbako), Sebi they were criminals running from (in)justice! Aba, shouldn't read between the lines, this is just a case of political acrimony.

Where were their thoughts when they gave him oil blocks, Telecoms 2nd National Operator, GSM License (GLOBACOM)? Didn't we all including our contract awarding leaders, know that he is a "Babangida's Boy" then?

Like I already mentioned elsewhere on this forum https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-11321.0.html#msg574272 our leaders have turned Nigeria into a theater of political vengeance.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Nigeria Places 90th Of 115 Countries In It Ratings by aderaskeey(m): 1:50pm On Aug 21, 2006
@soti, when would that infrastructure be provided. The operators and investors of the GSM that you talk so proudly of would painfully tell you that they run their services 90% on diesel generating plants. Not on NEPA or PHCN.

The few symbols of confidence for foreign investment (Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Peace, etc.) are either being pulled down by humiliating resignation from government, mysterious and unravelled gubernatorial murders.

The theatrical figures in leadership have turn Nigeria into a big theater. When they were giving Mike Adenuga the Telecom SNO, GSM License and oil blocks as an expression of will for infrastructural development, they never told us that they would hound him to Ghana and London like a refugee.

Don't be amazed, if tomorrow, they begin to hound Jim Ovia, Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola, Okereke Onyiuke (if it happens to Okonjo-Iweala, it can happen to anybody too) on flimsy political affiliation reasons.

The question is, when will the comical leadership wake up and stop toying with the developmental destiny of our dear country.
PoliticsRe: What Can Honest Nigerians Do to Stop 'Nigerian Scams'? by aderaskeey(m): 12:23pm On Aug 21, 2006
I got this post from Digg and traced it back home, to Nairaland. The root-cause of fraud and scams is the http://politicalgovernance..com/2006_08_19_politicalgovernance_archive.html tragicomedian leadership that has ruled our darling country for 46 years running. A leadership devoid of inspiration, an expired but re-cycled leadership. A scamming leadership. A leadership that cannot unravel mystery murders from the time of DELE GIWA to BOLA IGE, to FUNSHO WILLIAMS, DARAMOLA till date. A leadership that murders potential at infancy- a Herodian leadership! You cannot successfully deal with Scams without dealing with Scammers first. The scams the world shouts about is only a responsive echo of our national scamming political leadership.

That is why an IBB that ruined democracy and development can come back boasting that only him can make Nigeria "whole" again. To deal with the scams, honest Nigerians must first deal with the monumental fraud of a leadership if we must move for ward.

opad:
Yea, thanks u guys for some brief introduction about Google Adsense,
but little or none was said about Google Adwords, which is much money
making, Adsense or Adwords.
Opad, Google Adwords is not just a nomenclature of choice. You must first have a product to sell online before subscribing for it. If you dont have anything to sell, you dont have any reason to 'buy' traffic or drive traffic with Google Adwords to the product site.

In the alternative,  you may be or join as affliate to some online sellers who would pay you for driving traffic to their site, or your affliate site, particularly you could be paid a handsome commission of 20- 60% for every product that your traffic bought off the site.

I proved my mettle with, and as an affiliate marketer using Google Adwords before giving Adsense a shot at the begining of this year.
WebmastersRe: Google Adsense by aderaskeey(m): 12:09am On Aug 09, 2006
Seun, I am rather happy with our 'infant testimony' of less than some eight months. How many Nigerian online publishers are earning $350 monthly Adsense income?

We did not stumble into this level by accident, we grew from one click of 9 cents per day to the average $10+ per day now and we are still growing. Don't despise us Seun because we are yet to climb to 4-figure Adsense earner like you. You are a forerunner in this business, and we respect you for that.

I am most humbled to be an instrument of blessing to these handful associates and friends.

WebmastersRe: The Traffic Rank Of The Most Popular Nigerian Websites by aderaskeey(m): 4:06pm On Aug 08, 2006
Guys we don't need to argue about this because we know fully well how many site owners "buy traffic" in order to boost their ranking. I would rather that we use other  parameters too. After all, Google and Alexa do not use the same parameter to measure or determine website rank.

For example our Nairaland, does not buy traffic and yet it is more visited or 'popular' by Alexa Rank than THE PUNCH. Can we then conclude that our Nairaland is more popular than The Punch in Nigeria? Nay.
WebmastersRe: Google Adsense by aderaskeey(m): 3:44pm On Aug 08, 2006
Wande et. al. Google Adsense is still new, just about five years old. Yes you can make a good income from it. In Nigeria, it is still at an infancy. Why? because many are yet to go into commercial blogging and online publishing and also because of our low internet density. The bulk of our internet users today are Yahoo-Yahoo boys. The scammers who have scandalously compromised the image of Nigeria abroad through internet frauds.

With all humility and due regards to Seun, Kazey and other forerunners. I am a budding authority on Adsense publishing in Nigeria. Every adventure, including adsense has a rule that guides it. the truth however is that, from my experience in the last 18 months many bloggers and adsense publishers are lazy. Real adsense earning come by hard work.

In Nigeria, I am yet to see any publisher that makes above $5,000 monthly from Google Adsense. I currently have close to a dozen of my adsense publishing friends and 'students' earning between $150 to $350 monthly (including my very self- the adsense 'guru'). LOL. Collectively, the dozen or so people have earned a monthly income that have blossomed into about $2,500 at the beginning of this year to almost the current little less than $4,000. This is not counting several that are still at infancy of under $100 who have not yet received their Google PIN Number.

In the U.S. where the whole idea started from, We have Millionaire bloggers like Calacanis, Shoemoney, Michael Cheney(U.K), Joel Comm, Eric Guere, and a host of others whose monthly adsense earnings are in the region of heavy five to six figures.

Let me refer you to some of the "tricks" and testimonies of and from the game:  http://ezinearticles.com/?Formula-For-Traffic-and-Income-Explosion-In-Three-Months&id=247083 and http://ezinearticles.com/?Adsense-Trickles:-The-Way-Up-Unto-Torrential-Adsense-Earning&id=260744

Let me conclude, like I always tell my 'students' that there is nothing to market here. The audience of any serious Adsense earner is never from the Forum he or she belongs to. Your audience is in your niche, which drives "targeted traffic" to your sites. I am proud today that 65% of traffic to my sites are from search engine results. While 25% is from my adwords campaign. 10% miscellany. Our Adsense testimony is still at infancy stage, that is why we cannot carry or blow trumpets for now.
PoliticsFrom Lagos To Oshogbo: Governorship Aspirant Escape Death By The Whiskers by aderaskeey(op): 10:26am On Aug 08, 2006
Political Violence Moves To Oshogbo, Nigeria As Another Governorship Aspirant Escaped Death by whiskers

The ignominous train of political intolerance and violence moved from Lagos after the assassination and burial on Sunday, of the Engineer Funsho Williams. The peaceful city of Oshogbo was turned into violent bloodbath by the political intolerance that was principally instigated by the incumbent military (, oops!), sorry, I mean the State Governor, retired Colonel Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

As a result of the fracas triggered by this political hatred of the governor against his arch rival and gubernatorial aspirant for his seat, Enginneer Rauf Aregbesola, many political supporters are lying in critical conditions with many a fatal injury and gun shot wounds, on hospital beds scattered around Oshogbo, Osun State, Nigeria, by yesternight.

Reports filed in many newspapers, like the THISDAY online (http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=54986), Nigeria's most credible and most-read Daily newspaper, according to Alexa Ranking, shows that the joyous occasion of Oroki Day presided over by the traditional ruler, Ataoja of Oshogbo, Oba Oyewale Matanmi, which also had the incumbent governor as the the Guest of Honor, turned sour when the governor refused to acknowledge the greetings and camradie of Rauf Aregbesola, who on arrival at the venue, went straight to honour the governor on the high table, to greet him. This was good, honorably peaceful and friendly gesture by Rauf Aregbesola was prevented and and rebuffed, by the governor, whose security aides cordoned off Aregbesola. It was as a result of this cold shoulder that the Oba, persuaded Rauf Aregbesola to depart from the venue as the governor's attitude has already heightened tension in th city hall, venue of the event.

It is very interesting that almost all 32 governorship aspirants of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, (with the exception of a few smart ones who took to flight and hid from police invitation to interrogation), are in detention and under interrogation for the past five days in Lagos. Not a single aspirant from the rival Alliance for Democracy AD, which Rauf Aregbesola belongs to have been touched with the tooth-pick of police investigations into Funsho Williams' Assassination.

From whence cometh violence? Certainly not from Aregbesola or the AD. The Federal police authorities have had the herculean tasks of lecturing PDP governorship aspirants for the past 3 weeks in Lagos on the politics of tolerance and even made all of them signed a statement of committment to peaceful conduct throughout the impending electioneering period. it would be a great service to our fatherland if the police authorities would call "soldier-turned-politician" Governor Oyinlola and spare him the lecture notes for the PDP gubernatorial aspirants in Lagos. It would certainly be gretaer service if they can also make him and all the PDP aspirants in Osun State to sign a commital to peaceful conduct in Oshogbo and Osun state too.

Retired but not tired Colonel Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola cannot have the priviledge of being an accused and a judge over his own case! True Governance is about acceptance and goodwill of the majority. Not manipulation of forces of coersion in government to impose your wishes to colour the truth!
Nairaland GeneralRe: Nairaland Featured In The Punch Newspaper by aderaskeey(m): 9:56am On Aug 08, 2006
Well that's good.

But wait, why the excitement? Nairaland is in the Top Ten List of Most-Viewed and Most-Visited Websites in Nigeria. Even, it has far more traffic than The Punch. If Nairaland were a daily tabloid, it would sell more than The Punch. LOL

In fact, and I belief very soon these "Pouplar Media" and Institutions should be chasing Nairaland for a space to showcase their paid advertisements. Alexa ranking of Amazon.com ranked NAIRALAND among the 41,000 Most visited websites, among several millions in the world. More popular than many of this "big names". Punch is somewhere around 99,000. In the last 3 months, Naraland has gained more than 12,000 regular visitors while in the same time frame The Punch has lost over 30,000 visitors.

So, why the excitement? even by seun who is a renowned hosehold name on the web internationally? Google-search "SEUN OSEWA" and you would know there are more than 45,000 sesarch results world-wide. Many 'Honourable' Ministers of the Federal republic and Governors do not have that kind of weight and credible name that Seun has built over the last 3 years on the web.

Don't misuderstand me. The Punch is such a people's newspaper, and having been on the web for longer period; has tens of millions of indexed pages, so naturally The Punch has a greater cumulative web weight than Nairaland. Suprisingly, the punch has not a single reviewer on Amazon.com but our Nairaland has at least one there @: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009SR42A/102-1209695-0158507

It is time we appreciate our own value that we carry. We should not wait for CNN to commend us (That, they would sooner or later do) before we appriciate our value.

Any smart observer, like Festus keyamo said, would know that Funsho williams's death is a "dress rehearsal" in the captivity agenda of powers that are bent on capturing Lagos come 2007. The State and her militant governor- Tinubu, has been a thorn enough in their flesh for the past 7 years. Let them be assured that they would meet their waterloo in the hands of the most politically conscious and sophisticated Lagosians, come 2007
PoliticsRe: Funsho Williams, PDP Lagos State Governor-to-be, Killed! by aderaskeey(m): 3:37pm On Jul 27, 2006
Breaking News reaching us from the electronic media, STV, LTV, Channels TV reports that the versatile humanist and amiable politician, Engineer Funsho Williams was found dead this morning, alleged to have been murdered by assassins.

There is no doubt that having contested twice for the coveted seat of power in Lagos State, Nigeria. Engineer Williams is the most notable aspirant from PDP for that seat again as we approach another season of electioneering in the next few months.

Whatever the final outcome of police investigations, (if there would ever be a finality, Bola Ige's high-profile murder, Harry Marshall, Abubarkar Rimi's wife, etc. and other unending and unresolved political assassinations within the last seven years under the PDP federal government remains a mystery).

Recently his political rally in the domain of his estranged godson in Ikorodu led to a bloody and fatal clash with thugs allegedly sponsored by his opponents in that domain. His shocking murder proves once again what the sage Wole Soyinka, told us a few years ago that "PDP is a nest of killers". A party that kills its own.

Where is tolerance, if now, 8 clear months to election, politicians who feel threatened by opponents begin to kill each other? Adieu Captain, may your death provoke a total disgrace and exposure of all the powers behind the unresolved and mystery political murders of the last seven years in this country.

Yes, very profitable, I don't know of how saturated the U.S market is, but I have a friend there who makes about $50,000 monthly from web-designing.

800 million people are online today and only about 50 million websites (not including, sub-domains). Over 200 million people out of those 800 million need a website. Over 70% of the current 50 million websites need the strategic counsel ans services of a web designer.

The defeats suffered by Christians in life's battles are products of ignorance and not because of an 'unbeatable power' of satan and his cohorts. Our Father is the custodian of all secrets and the Holy Bible is the Key to unravelling these secrets for a victorious Christian lifestyle.

These secrets, which I christened "VICTORY CODES" is what inspired the launch, last week of my new spiritual blog Da Victory Code http://davictorycode..com. It is a platform for prophetic impartation and revelational power in our journey in Christendom. We are all debtors to the precious blood that our Lord Jesus, shed at Calvary.

His blood is not only for the remission of our sins, but also a victorious weapon in our battle against the accompanying consequenses of sorrow, reproach and poverty. I hope to maintain a daily motivational prayers and inspirational Word from Heaven with it as an arsenal of our victory through Jesus Christ over the misfortunes of life. you can add it to your yahoo or google or any feedreader for your daily edification.

Thank you and Peace be upon you.

Mcfee is what the Lagos State Government uses for her intra and internet facilities. the Lagos State Government won the global award for e-governance late last year for her huge Oracle infrastructure and e-service delivery. That speaks a volume for Mcfee- just as hot-angel called it: 'father of all'.

WebmastersRe: Nigerian Blogs by aderaskeey(m): 12:13pm On May 30, 2006
hi friends,

i am a very transparent fellow. i am not an alarmist. Kazey and Seun are one of the very esteemed and respected leaders of the web. i can't help but reverr your achievements as webmasters and traffic builders. I bow to the God of Heavens who enriched you with such rare talents and wisdom of leadership.

this is the basis of my projection: as at December 2005, seun had 17,000+ registered members on nairaland and a daily traffic of 5,000+. Now if Seun now has 26,000+ registered members (an increase of over 52% in 5 months!); is it not logical to project a conservative daily traffic of over 7,500 now?

Seun, What is CTR? when i said "abysmally poor" i don't mean failure or lack lustre performance. with an impression of over 7,500 daily if you have 500 daily clicks, that is a superlative achievement!!! but the ctr of that would be around 6-7% that is what untrained eyes may call "abysmally poor ctr"

But that is where the story ends! At the very low-end and impossible side of say, 15 cents per click, that is $75 dollars a day and and $2,250 Dollars a month which translated to at black market rate 146:1 over =N=328,000 per month.

Seun, you are a leader, don't descend to arguments of adsense earnings with me, afterall, you have said it many times here and on "Technology Times" that you earn more than what a telecom, oil & gas or banking graduate takes home. permit my speculative and idle projections. i know it is an insult to your current level of adsense income cheesy

I know of friends in US and Europe who had 5 to 6 websites before they could cumulatively gross 2,000 dollars from adsense, and even at that, their combined traffic for the half dozen site don't come near 30% of Seuns's traffic.

"Ohun ani l'angbe l'aruge; eba mi gbe 'Treasure' yi l'aruge"
My brother, I am exceedingly proud of you, don't diminish your destiny, you ain't see anything yet. If you don't know, it is not late for you to know that, you remain an inspiration that cannot be annulled for some of us. even if our age doubles yours. the age of Methusella has nothing to do with the wisdom of Solomon. Period!

Finally Kazey, moneytized blogs is not the type that i created on blogger.com You guys are more experienced than me on the web i am just about 14 months old in the game of numbers. Kazey, don't begin to scare newbies with an attitude of "HAHAHAHA I hope you know what you are talking about". Sharon Guirel is not anywhere better intellectually than any of you guys, yet she makes a cool 650 dollars per day from just ONE WEBSITE!!! If she could I believe we can do better. when I say we, I mean you guys and any body devoted to better their lot in this our noble calling as web entrepreneurs!

I have made good (and I am still making) money from affiliate marketing. My adsense experience started in August last year, but i was sleep-walking until I woke up in April/may this year. So

hi Orikinnla, quite a space.

good update of Nigerian blogs: from 170 in April to "over 200" in May. my wife visited Sokari's blog link that you gave but found that he had moved since a month ago to her own domain.

you said most non-Nigerians hardly visit Nigerian blogs, well, let me inform you that over 81% of visitors to my blog http://tahitianoni..com are outside the shores of Nigeria.

Orikinla, with great respect for your internet presence and experience, I am bothered by your attitude to monetized blogs. I have been a writer, editor and publisher since 1983 and i have never seen a greater motivation to write than the monetary reward for my talents and writing skills.

Do you know that our million times goodwill to Seun would not have stopped him from closing shop if he had not monetized Nairaland. Why not let us go the whole hog by telling our people the TRUTH about monetized blogs. In two weeks since May 14th, I have had a poor but encouraging blog-traffic of 162 guests and an Adsense earnings of over $34 Dollars. All on my http://tahitianoni..com

If You truly want an explosion in the Nigerian blogosphere, then you must point the way to Nigerian bloggers. MONETIZED BLOGS!

Seun has close to 10,000 visitors daily- that is a terrific traffic, but you will be shocked to learn of his abysmally poor CTR (click through rate). Why? because we have refused to embrace the techniques of optimizing our sites.

I know big names in the ezine and adsense publishing industry in Europe and the U.S who would beg to have half of Seun's daily traffic and you will be shocked the enormous revenue they would generate from that. I call them "big names" because with their present traffic, they have become household names in the industry by reason of the revenue they command with their websites.

Orikinla, you are my web friend and I deeply respect you. But I beg to differ with you on Monetized Blogging. Your counsel to wande is deceptively comforting. I checked his blog again today and was happy that he has improved with at least 4 postings this may. But surprisingly he has removed all google ads on his blog. Only a wrong counsel could have made him to do that!

Enough of self-adulation, Let us move forward!
