willybe:
Good afternoon VO, I wish to ask if i can include my wife & children age 4 & 2 years in my immigrant visa application form . They were not originally in the petition as i had not got married and given birth to them when my sister filed for me about 12 years ago. I have my case number from the National Visa center now and my petitioner has paid for the Affidavit of Support .Can i go ahead to pay the Immigrant Visa fees for the four of us. Also, will this mean that i have to start all over again since my status has changed hence delay in waiting period and only God knows when it will come out this time because i have waited for 12 years before the i could get to my priority date.

Please kindly advise.

Thank you

I am not VO, but you can do that.

..this is making a headline on every media channels today and this the kind of story we want for our kids,Ekeh’s family immigrated to the United States from Nigeria when he was eight. After initially questioning the decision and struggling to pick up the basic concepts of US History, Ekeh reportedly has a 100.5% GPA. His Intel Science Award recognition is based on research for combating Alzheimer’s, and he says he developed a passion for the field after losing his grandmother to the disease when he was 11.
In addition to finishing his studies, Ekeh says he will visit each of the schools before making his final decision. You can read CNNMoney’s full profile of Harold Ekeh at CNNMoney.com.

Do not let you or your family members become victims of online predators. Use the following guidelines to prevent online predators from harming you and your family.

Online predators can display certain behaviors that should seem odd to the careful observer. For one, they have a goal in mind to get to know you as well and as soon as possible. This often comes out being overly friendly or familiar early in the acquaintance. They are impatient for the natural progression of a normal online relationship and will push unearned affection, quickly getting frustrated with even slight rejection. If an online contact wants to meet a minor at any time in the real world, it should be a warning sign.

Be cautious of offers by strangers Be cautious of offers by strangers
Online predators often try and gain trust by offering gifts or tempting offers of kindness. Always be aware of gifts offered to minors. Even adults need to be careful of offers that seem unearned or inappropriate. Even if the gift is genuine, the intentions behind the gift may not be.

Educate friends on online safety Educate friends on online safety
There are many precautions you can take to create greater online safety for your friends and family. Instruct loved ones to never use their real name in a chat room. In addition, they should never divulge any personal information about themselves including age or any contact information such as where they live or even a phone number.

Above all else, never under any circumstances reveal any of your private usernames or passwords to anyone, stranger or not.

>>thank God some of us (PARENT) grew from the era when there was no/limited internet activities and all the new devices available today, we would have find it very difficult to erase our past; some of the things we do,write, say, post, all would have been on our walls for anybody to freely access at a click of a bottom.I went for a job interview somewhere in Boston in 2013, and before I got back home the recruiter had goggle my name and got all available information about me on the internet, all what recruiter need this day is just your e-mail address, once they got that, then all your information is at hand.. no good Parent/guardian will leave his/her kid(s) unguided>>

>> to me kids activities on the internet are easier to monitor now that we have integrated network i.e you can use the same device as computer, telephone and television unlike when the home network used to be separated. Now,when you set up a different account for your kids you can at least set a restriction and monitor almost every activities on that particular account.Parent should make it a daily responsibility to visit the "HISTORY" menu to know what their kids have been doing on the computer, the location of "HISTORY" varies from browsers to browsers.. even if the kids are so smart to wipe the "HISTORY"off, there are still ways to recover it>>

...now on tips on how to guide your kids on the internet, some of us are familiar with the acronyms "WWW" which means "world wide web" in the IT field. In a layman description ; YOU+A Computer Device(laptop, desktop,I pad,I pod, tablet, smartphone,Xbox etc)+any internet connection=www.As a matter of fact, once you get into the web it is difficult to get out.Just surfing the web is one thing but once your kids sign up for an e-mail account then he/she is establishing his/her presence on the web.An email account carries a lot of information and it also represent your Identification on the world wide web ,a very sensitive email account is the one your kid sign up for school/learning purposes and should never be toil with on social media..., >>

I said in one of my presentation that Jesus would have sign up on Facebook, twitter, ...(you name it)if HE were from this present generation.I learnt he was making use of any available channel to reach out to people; from camel, to mountain, riverside, canoe, wedding reception, synagogue, temple e.t.c. So, I am not saying having access to internet is not good for the kids but there is "Jesus" side of the internet and there is also the ":Satan" part of it, and in all those places Jesus parent were always there with HIM>>

A secondary school has defended expelling a student after he made insults about his head teacher on Facebook.
Jordan Ford, 14, posted derogatory comments about Keziah Featherstone's hair colour, looks and weight alongside a Facebook profile photo of her.
The Bridge Learning Campus in Bristol, where Ms Featherstone is associate head, said Jordan had broken the school's social media policy.
Chief executive Mark Davies said: "He has been permanently excluded for undermining the ethos of the school in terms of making malicious comments about a member of staff.
"In some respects people need to realise the situations they can get into with social media and not understanding their responsibilities towards it."
Mr Davies said the decision to exclude Jordan had been taken by a panel of the school governors after the post, which was made before Christmas, was brought to the school's attention.
Jordan's family believe he has been unfairly treated, arguing that he only drew attention to the fact that the picture showed the teacher with hair dyed a colour banned in school.
The picture of Ms Featherstone was taken outside of school and some time before she started as associate head in September.
Jordan's father John Ford, from Hartcliffe, Bristol, told the Bristol Post: "We think it's unfair that he's been punished because he's the class clown.
"He dyed his hair red and the school made a really big thing of it but there are teachers up there with coloured hair.

Even with my little experience, I have learnt in life that no one ever wins a game or war by always defending himself/herself,sometimes you need to be on the offensive side, take the fight to the enemy's territory force them to be on the defensive side;that is how to win a a game or war. Those days when cultism were so rampart on school campuses, people getting raped and killed on daily bases, we prayed and prayed nothing happened.Until when it registerd on our head that number of non -cult member outnumbered those who are cult members, people volunteered to sign up for the Campus Army cadet.First, we identified and eliminated those who were member of the Army Cadet that were also member of a cult, one glorious night we all matched to their territory and caught them unaware, there was nothing like facebook or twitter we got every one of them through their photo Album;you cant be taking series of pictures with a cult member and tell us you don't know anything about cultism...

adesojiaderemi:
Kids need to know that whatever they post on the internet last forever, and that is why a parent or guardian needs to intervene earlier enough to shape their ward's online personalty to avoid a long -term damage to their identity and reputation.

It is not uncommon to see Parent who has zero basic IT knowledge, if you are such a Parent,I will tell you it is never too late to catch up with the digital lifestyle that exist in this modern age. Even in so call advance country I know number of people who doesn't know how to move a mouse. The easiest way to learn fast is to acquaint your self with people who are digital literate; asking is the secret of learning, always ask and never assume anything. As at 2002, I don't know how e-mail works, never have an email account because I don't know how to sign up for one, I just made up my mind and swallow my pride to ask a younger person,I bought him some cyber time and follow him to the cyber -cafe, today I am a IT instructor and I have graduated over 500 students in various IT field. There is also a free online tool you can use to enhance you IT knowledge;it is call MICROSOFT DIGITAL LITERACY, you can download it as a soft copy, you can also print it out as a hard copy, it will teach you from as basic as how to hold a mouse.>>>
