Politics / Re: Nigerian Engineers Repair The Damaged Section Of The Abuja-Kaduna Rail Track by aijazNija: 10:11am On Apr 03, 2022
Please tell the world what you think the job of an engineer is,

Let me read you, this is exactly why Nigeria is backwards. When I say an engineer can be a technician. I mean he can be employed as one, some job descriptions require highly skilled engineers (check in out ourself, they often earn highier than 'an engineer' without technical experience). Often times, people confuse technicians with roadside workmen. They not but well trained and highly skilled engineers.

Meanwhile, I am not here to argue with you. I write this for younger people who may be reading. To them, I say. If you want to be competitive, please be a highly skilled engineer. You can take up a job as a technician anywhere in the world. (this why some smart engineering students learn programing and other skills )

In a well organised company with standards, they repairs must firstly go through rigorous quality checks since they are not the original contractor that installed the rails. This includes serries of simulations/experiments to ascertain the strength of the used materials in order to find the right replacement. And ensure the type of weilding that can stand the wear and tear associated with the load it will carry.

My bros, thats not the work of a roadside workman which you may be referring as a technician.

mrvitalis:

You talk like u never finished school at all
An engineer can be a farmer too ,a pastor , even a fisherman does that makes those job description of an engineer ?

U all sound very illogical ... engineering job description is known ,
Politics / Re: Nigerian Engineers Repair The Damaged Section Of The Abuja-Kaduna Rail Track by aijazNija: 8:55am On Apr 03, 2022
it looks like you finished from FUTO. Thats how their graduates think. Especially, the ones that don't have practical experience.

Given the nature of this kind of job, an engineer designs the work. Do quality checks, ensure the materials and repair specs are in order. With the help of a technician, he/she delivers the job with precision.

Notably, an engineer can be a technician and vice verse QED.

Meanwhile, kudos to the engineers. Hope they used the required spec. No wan here say train derail oh.

mrvitalis:
Technicians not engineers for heavens sake

Repair , maintaining and installation are not jobs of engineers but technicians

Stop worrying bout her, she would be fine. Na guilty conscience dey worry am.

And yes you're correct, marriage and child birthing Is a womans greatest achievement.

I will like to add. PLEASE avoid sleeping with her with all your might! When I say this, I mean that women can do anything to keep you around when they know they are guity (Run from goodbye sex). You might end up fathering her first child which may likely ruin her marriage later on, when you are happily married.

For your emotional heath find a new girl friend ASAP (If you are lucky to find a better girl, you will forget her in no time).

My girlfriend last saw her menstration last month, its been 30 days and 4 day since she last saw it.. So i was wondering why, and i had to visit a chemist who gave me a pregnancy test tools called 'accuracy'..
he told me how to use it, and what the various line display means.
so i called my girl and told her to urinate small on a small cup, followed the instructions and two thick red line showed..
and the chemist said two line is positive..
i'm still schooling i don't kno what to do now.

everything i have worked for, how i have planned my future is now trying to fade away.
i cant even hold my tears

Well! I will say congrats man. But read this carefully and think!
Keep the pregnancy and have your baby. You need to talk to your parents, if you guys can't get married now no problem. Make effort to succeed in life, having a kid now will not stop your success. It will only make your more responsible and prudent. Notice I did not say marriage, reason being that the mentality of most women is to be dependent on the man and that will put a lot of stress on you and perhaps frustrate your dreams. If you guys are in love, your people should reach agreement with her people they both parents will help take care of your child while you guys prepare yourself for the future. Try to stay through with your commitments with her, even if the relationship did not work out in the future.
Many of us in our 40s today regret those abortions, some us are not even sure the children in our marriage belong to us. I presume you are in your 20s by the time reach 40 you will have a teenager calling you Dad. You surely remember this comment. Cheer up and plan wisely. Abortion is not an option unless it will frustrate her future plans.

It has been 12years now since my dad has been down with Stroke which has affected his speech, his right hand and leg and some 4years ago,he couldn't walk anymore but had to be carried to sleep, sit and all physical metabolism is done where he is,even after I and my mum have spent and still spends a lot on physiotherapy, speech therapy, brain checkups at Mecure oshodi, routine and forthnight high blood pressure checkups with expensive drugs and still no changes but it gets worse, all done going around in taxi as I have no car.....

I was 18 and in 200level in a federal uni with him and my mum my only support system when all of this started, couldn't concentrate and focus on school work anymore as I am the firstborn of a 7 boys family and my attention was always needed.....Mum told me I need to drop out that she can't afford all of this alone but I was strong hearted and determined to graduate with a B.Eng...

I had issues with my lecturers as my attendance were poor and my course adviser said it to my face that I would never graduate but I never told them about my travails or they wouldn't even believe me anyways cos they were mostly SADIST,All Engineering lecturers in Uniben especially Mechanical/PRODUCTION ENGINEERING from 08/09 upward,OGUN KILL ALL OF UNA!!! Life was tough for me and my Mum....

Now that I am a Man and supposed to be focus on my life future and raising a family but this is still taking a toll on me emotionally, financially, mentally and I will come home to my mum nagging, crying that she has tried enough over the years and i might come home one day and she has left ....THIS BREAKS ME,I AM TIRED,I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO....I LOVE MY DAD,HE IS IN PAINS TOO!!!

NAIRALANDERS,I AM DEPRESSED AND I NEED YOUR ADVICE

sorry for the long post. Mods please help this thread to front page for more advice

Although it has been years. You may consider this, I am not an expert! but this have worked for me (you may wish to confirm the first 3 on list below from a medical doctor.
1. Get a BP apparatus (check his bp always). I guess by now you the medicine that controls his BP well.

2. Perhaps aspirin to ensure he doesn't get stroke again.

3. Physiotherapy is still important (hot water massage).

4. Give your him warm water always.

5. Blend ginger and garlic (add warm water and give him) at least twice a day after meal.

Stand by ur mum, she is a strong woman, make her understand why you all should be more patient. Administer all of the above with love. Your dad may, at least be independent in short while. (let me know what you think about these, we can talk more)

May God bless you.

Women have really suffered and will continue to suffer in the hands of African communities.

A man cheats on his wife but doesn't feel any remorse about it by confessing to his wife, yet people are blaming her for her husband's wrong-doing. How can anyone say she should ask her husband why he cheated on her? Really? Will this same energy be given to a woman if she cheats on her husband?

I just wish Prenuptial agreements will be signed into law in Africa, this is the major thing that will reduce the rate of cheating. At least, if you don't want to loose your money to your wife, you would learn to keep IT between your legs!!!!

One reason why I always says Ladies should be financially dependent before going into marriage!!!

poverty mentality! most rich, successful and independent women I know want a man they can submit to.

Bola146:
shocked madam deep inside you, you know what is right for you expect you are just deceiving yourself. Why not ask yourself the questions why your husband is cheating and fighting always? Some men need attention and real sex which many married women take for granted. Your ex you knew then might not be the man you know today. If your husband is a responsible man ( financially, caring and physically) please think twice, don't regret when lust ruin you, don't just conclude about leaving, what if your ex didn't show up? Find a way to ask him what really went wrong. But If your husband is the opposite of a good man, please still think twice before you marry your ex. I wish you best of luck!

well said! but I must add that the reason he cheated is obvious. "You have been fighting him since the first week of your marriage" and "the reason you have not left him is because you are not independent yet" (this is the mentality that makes our women leave there husband when they bring them come obodo oyibo), haba women make una fear God small nah. From your story here I assume that your husband is responsible man, you did not state that he is violent. I think his cheating is just because he can't get peace of mind at home. I am not in anyway encouraging men to cheat, but you may not agree with me that he is not violent today is just because he getting fresh air outside. If they woman outside is more loving and caring you may loose your husband soon whether you are independent or not. Please ma, kindly be a loving wife. I use God beg you, you can build a loving home with this man. Unless there are other things you need to consider (his behavior you did not state here).
Most of get into marriage to have peace of mind a build healthy home, most of when mature and hungry to have family.

We don't date for too long, we propose you jump up and God have answered your prayers. When you start seeing your ex's doing well especially they ones not yet man married, you will start disrespecting your man (this is the case most times). Put heads together build your home and finances, give your husband peace and support him, money go enter your home. Treat him like a king, he will treat you like a queen. People go dey envy your home.

Your ex may be worst, any man that is hitting on a married woman (whether ex or not) in my opinion is irresponsible.

Romance / Re: After Introduction, I’m Seeing Too Many Red Flags by aijazNija: 3:00am On Jun 24, 2021
My dear,
Your religious disposition might be one of the reasons he decided to marry you after three years of dating. Because your devotion and his 'layback' Christian life is a perfect ingredient to raise kids in this ever changing circular world. With the way women are dealing with men these days, your devoted to Christian lifestyle and love for him will help keep your 'feminism' in checks as life gets better for your guys. Try to know if he is deeply in love with you. Also check carefully if he is the controlling type (that for me is big red flag)

Prepare your mind, if he you eventually marries you, you're by default a Catholic. Trust me, you can still be a devoted Christian in Catholic Church. I wish you the very best.

Please mental illness is a medical issue that requires medical attention not cage. Unfortunately, our society particularly religious Nigerian believe it is evil spirit which is not true.

With the right medication and care sick people will recover including the mad. Please advocate for their welfare, so that they will be treated as humans they are. Thanks in advance.

NwaAmaikpe:
shocked

Lots of exaggerations in this story.
No human can survive being starved for 8months. Secondly, she's is in isolation because she is mad and not because her guardians just want to maltreat her.

But the biggest form of hypocrisy is to expect people to treat a mad person with the same decency they'd treat a normal person.

Expect hypocrites to get sentimental about the truth but remember that none of their mad relatives are in a psychiatric home.
It is Nigeria for fvcks sake.

Bad is bad but don't forget that mad is mad too. You can house a dog but will you house a hyena?
The fact that she is mad justifies this supposed 'bad' route they've chosen to contain her and protect themselves.

My friend's maternal aunt who haboured her mad nephew learnt the hard way.
She'd feed him and hit the chaplet on his head praying for his restoration.
Everyone adviced her to chain him behind the house but she said it was dehumanizing.

Two months later, she didn't wake up because he had sliced out her heart when she was asleep. When asked, he said she was too kind-hearted so he wanted to help preserve the heart.

Moral.
Never judge people when they treat mad people in a certain way.

My brother, time will not permit me to run a different scenario here.

Firstly, she may have thought that coming out from her family house will give her the opportunity to mix up and much sex as she wishes. Moving in with you seems a great opportunity for her to start that. The first night she slept on the floor, I guess in her dream, You came and romantically asked to come to bed with you. Instead, you even left the bed room and went to sleep on the floor (Tufiakwa in her mind). After then, she took a good look at herself (Am I not attractive enough?). She must have given you time to come around but you did not imagine? Now, she have to start giving you attitude. (This typical of girls in their late teens or early twenties whose parents have not allowed to mix up with guys: they only imagine it).

I am not in any way advising you to take advantage of her. Understand her mindset and treat her with much care. Allow to access her things talk sense into her but unfortunately the situation have escalated. Be careful so that you don't spoil your family ties.

Sorry for the typos.

I met a guy online who claims he lives in the US and I discovered I like him since I've met him and now he said we should settle down and marry. I own a duplex in a choice area in Lagos, completed though still small loan I'm paying on it. I agreed to settle down with him but since I told him he can't stay in my house that he needs to get a house, he started acting funny.

The second one, I asked him to show me proof of ID or his work ID, for me to be sure he's who claimed he is, he changed it for me. I tried to let him know that I'm just trying to be careful, don't want to fall prey again but he won't listen to me. He stopped calling and when I call him, he will return my call after like 5hours.

Pls advise me, is it polite for a man to marry and come stay in a woman's house because he said he will soon travel back? This is someone I like to support to get another apartment somewhere else but I haven't told him that. He has really changed in days.

No insult pls...pls ignore rather than insult me pls.

In as much as 55k is small for a family of five. It very unfortunate that it difficult to find a loyal partner especially wife these days. Like my old uncle would say, it is not about how much earn, it is all about how it is spent. Having said that, spending much of your income with family could tell that if earn more you would bring it home. Your problem is not peculiar with low income earners, many young men with better income are facing simiIar issues in their marriage. I strongly believe that a loving wife would a least give you peace of mind and encouragement, which alone, can help you overcome financial difficulties.

My brother do your best to pacify her, if she insist of leaving the marriage. Let her go. If your mom can step up to take care of the kids, then you are lucky. More importantly, focus on improving your income, with God on your side it will end in praise.

I have intentionally left the partnity of the kids untouched. Raise them the best way you know how, being their provider and the task therein can propel you to greatness. All the best!!!

Politics / You Goofed On Jonathan’s Agricultural Programme, Adesina Tells Oshimhole by aijazNija: 4:09am On Aug 19, 2015
Immediate past Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, has slammed Edo State Governor, Adams Oshimhole, for describing the Agricultural Programme of former president Goodluck Jonathan as a scam.
Adesina, who is warming up to assume office as the President of the African Development Bank next month, said it was unbecoming of Oshimhole to tag Jonathan’s Agricultural Transformation Agenda, ATA, as a dismal failure.

In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Dr. Olukayode Oyeleye, the former minister said it was most uncharitable for the governor who was in a better position to know the success of the ATA to attempt to discredit it for reasons best known to him.
Disagreeing with Oshimhole, Adesina insisted that the ATA was a real success story and not a sham as claimed by the governor

“Foremost, it is a bad public relations stunt, not expected from the governor. Secondly, his comments detract from the ATA – a reform that was vigorously pursued and implemented by Dr Akin Adesina, now president elect of African Development Bank,” the former minister said.

” For reasons of safeguarding the economy and strengthening the confidence of the international community in Nigeria, genuine efforts towards ensuring food security and diversifying the economy away from oil should not be subjected to cheap politics as the negative impact that follows such public comments could be to the nation’s detriment.

Governor Oshiomole ought to know better that, under ATA, efficient distribution of subsidised farm inputs – also known as the Growth Enhancement Support Scheme (GESS), reached 14.3million farmers with 1.3million MT of fertiliser, 102,703 metric tons of improved rice seeds, 67,991 metric tons of improved maize seeds, 6,171 metric tons of improved cotton seeds, 130 million stems of cassava, 45.5million seedlings of cocoa, nine million seedlings of oil palm amongst many other crops between 2012 and 2014.

“Those inputs helped produce an additional 21million MT of food that has acted as a buffer against inflation with the devaluation of the Naira.

“At a time that the nation desperately needs to build upon the achievements of the immediate past minister of agriculture, Governor Oshiomole can only do the Edo people some good by recognising the fact that lending by commercial banks to agriculture increased from 0.07 per cent in 2011 to five per cent in 2014 while banks lent a total of N27.5 billion to fertiliser and seed companies.

“As the chief executive of a state so blessed with natural resources so highly favourable to productive agriculture, Governor Oshiomhole ought to think rather on how to make Edo more enterprising. In doing so, an area he is expected to be more interested in, should be agriculture.

“For that reason, Governor Oshiomhole ought rather to be keen on how the intervention that brought agriculture from policy oblivion to a sector that is now widely embraced could be replicated in Edo State within the remaining number of months he has to spend as a governor.

“He ought to have been asking, for instance, the erudite, resourceful and hardworking former minister, how he was able to achieve so much within so short a time.

“If Governor Oshiomhole knows how to play the politics well, he should be thinking of how to leverage on the former minister’s growing relevance at the continental level as the new head of the biggest development financial institution in Africa.

” He is supposed to be expressing interest in the increased investment in the fertilizer sector totaling $5billion from major companies such as Indorama, Dangote, and Notore.

” He should have been asking his special assistants to study how usage also rose from 13kg per hectare in 2011 to 80kg in 2014, or how seed companies in Nigeria grew from 11, producing 14,000 metric tons of improved seeds, to 134 companies doing 174,000 metric tons of seeds.

“The governor should be asking how Nigeria become the world leader in the use of ICT to reach farmers directly with farm inputs and how the World Bank is trying to scale out this efficient system of ensuring high productivity of small holder farmers across Africa.

“It is grossly unfair for Governor Oshiomhole not to recognise that ATA of 2011 to 2014 was Nigeria’s equivalent of the ‘green revolution’ that took place in Asia in the 1960s and 1970s, where new highly productive varieties of rice and wheat, and the chemical fertilisers that helped them achieve their potential, led to a doubling and tripling of yield and self-sufficiency.

“Particularly troubling is the fact that a political leader of a State as enlightened as Edo State could feign ignorance at the fact that the number of integrated rice mills, needed to produce parboiled rice, preferred by Nigerians, has grown from just one in 2010 to 24 in 2014.

“Equally worrisome is he fact that he is unaware that our parboiled rice milling capacity increased from 70,000 metric tons to 800,000 metric tons. His former colleague in Lagos, at some point, had bought as many as 56 trailer loads of paddy rice from Kebbi (a major massive producer of rice under ATA) for processing into ‘ Eko Rice ‘ brand in Lagos. It means Governor Oshiomhole’s criticism is fraught with irregularities.

“Realising that the demand for import quality-grade parboiled rice was estimated at 2.5million Metric tons (MT) in Nigeria, the gap in milling capacity prompted the Federal Executive Council to approve a N9billion fund to support private sector companies to acquire nine new 36,000 metic tons per annum factories to further raise the capacity to 1.2million MT, leaving a national supply gap of 1.3million MT that was to be met by controlled imports under the new rice policy.

“The new Rice Policy, aimed at reducing the amounts of rice imports and instead encourage new domestic rice investments in the nation, has led to new investments in rice production and milling of over N500billion, including N200billion by Aliko Dangote, of which a 200,000MT per annum mill and 10,000 hectares will be located in Edo State. Is Governor Oshiomhole aware of this?
The former minister also lambasted Oshimhole for claiming that the past government frittered away over N800billion on waivers for rice millers and others, killing local rice production and making agriculture unattractive.
He made it clear that contrary to the governor’s claim, the total amount owed the government by rice importers, who imported beyond their approved limit, is estimated at N30billion, an information that is conspicuously displayed on the website of the Nigerian customs.

“It has to be emphasised here again that it was the immediate Dr Adesina that the took up the fight against the erring importers, asking them to pay what they owed the government.

“The truth is that under ATA, Nigeria has made giant strides towards achieving self-sufficiency in rice. Between 2011 and 2014, a total of six million rice farmers were reached with improved rice seeds and fertiliser and an additional two million hectares cultivated.

“National paddy rice production rose by an additional 7 million MT and the nation reached 85 per cent sufficiency in rice production.

” Furthermore, for the first time in Nigeria, rice cultivation is twice a year, in the wet and dry seasons. We have also seen the rise of thousands of small mills fitted with destoners and polishers producing parboiled rice of similar quality as imported rice. With the new investment in large scale rice mills, imported rice will soon become a thing of the past.

“The governor may wish to ask the leader of the cocoa value chain, an illustrious son of Edo State, who served under the immediate past minister of agriculture in revolutionising cocoa production, Edo was one of the biggest beneficiaries of the efforts to increase cocoa production base through the free distribution of cocoa pods for raising seedlings in many farms in the cocoa-producing states.

” In the Oil Palm value chain, a total of 9 million sprouted oil palm sprouted nuts were distributed to 45,353 small and large oil palm estate owners between 2013 and 2015. Additional Crude Palm Oil (CPO) production due to these interventions is projected to be 400,000 MT of crude oil palm which would close the gap of 350,000MT of crude oil palm that is currently being imported. There has been well over N100billion new investment in crude oil palm production in the country.

“Nigeria’s agriculture sector has undergone major reforms and transformation in the past three and a half years under the leadership of the immediate past Honorable Minister of Agriculture and President-elect of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina.

“Governor Oshiomhole would benefit from data originating from the National Bureau of Statistics, showing that the agricultural sector grew by 9.19 per cent (year-on-year) in the third quarter of 2014, up by 2.7 per cent from Q3 of 2013. The agricultural sector grew by 38.53 per cent between 3rd and 4th quarters of 2014, with crop production being the main driver, with a growth of 43.5 per cent. The Agricultural Transformation Agenda has proven to be a well-thought-out policy with great gains for Nigeria.

“It was Philip Asiodu, the former super permsec who recently opined that ‘What has killed this country is the refusal of any new government to build upon what their predecessors had done.”

” If ATA is allowed to continue as conceived and implemented under Adesina, Nigeria could reach an additional 32 million farmers by 2019, up from 14.5million farmers reached with inputs between 2012 to 2014, reaching at least 8 million of unemployed youths.

” Under ATA, a production of 7.1 million MT per annum of rice paddy was achieved With the new investments in milling, milling capacity could rise to 5 million MT and Nigeria will be self-sufficient in rice production by 2017. It is indeed shameful for a country like Nigeria to import rice
Should ATA continue, cassava processing capacity, currently just below 100,000MT/annum and a bane of the cassava industry, will be raised to 675,000MT per annum by 2019. Same thing with maize production, from the achievement of over 12 million MT/annum in 2014 (compared to 9million MT/year in 2011), we will increase this to 18 million MT/annum by 2019 to accommodate the rise in demand for food, poultry feed, and maize for the milling industry.

“For Sorghum, we will go from 9.76million MT in 2014 to 13 million MT by 2019 to cater for the increase in demand from the malted sorghum and high energy food markets. We can produce 1.2million MT of soybean by 2019, up from 700,000MT achieved in 2014 (compared to 500,000MT in 2011).

“Same for cotton, from 240,000MT/annum in 2014 ( was 125,000MT in 2011) to 500,000MT/annum by 2019, Cocoa production from 350,000MT exported/annum in 2014 to 700,000MT exported/annum by 2019; crude oil palm, production from 800,000MT/annum in 2014 to 1.6million MT/annum in 2019 and Nigeria will become self-sufficient in CPO.

“It is uncharitable and against the interest of Nigerian public to politicise issues of agriculture and food security as Governor Oshiomhole did in his criticisms of that sector.

Politics / Okonjo-iweala Denies Alleged Diversion Of China Exim-bank Loan by aijazNija: 8:16am On Aug 17, 2015
The former Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has debunked media reports that a substantial part of the $1.005 billion loan from the China Exim-Bank obtained for the construction of a standard gauge rail line linking Lagos and Kano was diverted under the immediate-past administration.

Following a presentation to President Muhammadu Buhari last Monday by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Alhaji Mohammed Bashar, that a substantial part of the $1.005 billion loan for the rail line had been diverted, the president had reportedly expressed disappointment that foreign loans obtained in line with signed agreements were moved from one project to another.

However, reacting to the alleged diversion at the weekend through a statement by her Media Adviser, Mr. Paul Nwabuikwu, Okonjo-Iweala confirmed that the first point to be cleared was that China-Exim Bank did not fund the Kano-Lagos rail project.
She also noted that contrary to the allegations, the Chinese bank keeps and disburses funds for approved projects to contractors based on milestones, as funds are not domiciled with the Finance Ministry.

"Since this story was first reported, we have continued to receive media inquiries regarding an allegation reportedly made by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Alhaji Mohammed Bashar, that a substantial part of a $1bn loan obtained from the China-EximBank by the Jonathan administration for a Kano-Lagos rail project was diverted to other projects.
"I want to state categorically that there is no truth in the reported allegation. Anyone who is interested can crosscheck with the China-EximBank or the Chinese Embassy.

"It is noteworthy that even though President Buhari, in his reported comments on the allegation, made no reference to Dr. Okonjo-Iweala but rightly stressed the need for due process and transparency in the execution of public projects, a sponsored media campaign has once again been launched by political elements to make the former Minister the culprit in a non-existent scandal.

"The alleged diversion has no substance for the simple reason that the Kano-Lagos project was not even among the projects presented for funding by the China Exim Bank for several strategic infrastructural projects across the country," the former minister said.

According to her, it was the Lagos–Ibadan rail project and not the Lagos-Kano rail project that was proposed in the original application to the China-EximBank, adding that in the end, no funds were assigned for the Lagos-Ibadan rail project by the China-EximBank.
"The fact which can be confirmed is that the following projects, which are at various stages of progress are being funded from facilities obtained from the China-Exim-Bank," she said.

The statement listed them as $500 million for the expansion of four international airport terminals in Lagos, Kano, Abuja and Port Harcourt, $500 million for the Abuja Light Rail project, $984 million for the Zungeru Hydro-electric power project, and $100 million for the Galaxy Backbone project.

"It is also important to note that even if the alleged project was on the list of China-EximBank funded projects, diversion of any Chinese funds would have been extremely difficult because the terms of the contract and the processes would simply not have permitted such action.

"The procedure is that funds for approved loans remain in the China-EximBank and are released directly to the Chinese firm executing the contract only after the presentation of duly certified proof of work by the responsible Ministry, in this case it would have been the Federal Ministry of Transport, based on the agreed milestones.
"For the sake of emphasis, the China-EximBank does not disburse money directly to government and therefore the issue of diversion does not arise.

"This is yet another example of the kind of whispering campaign of calumny, innuendo, misinformation, and outright distortions being perpetrated by certain political elements against Dr. Okonjo-Iweala in a bid to try to damage her reputation. We are confident that those behind this campaign will continue to fail.

"We respectfully request the media to refrain from attaching Dr. Okonjo-Iweala's name and photographs to spurious and unfounded allegations. Dr. Okonjo-Iweala as a Nigerian citizen in a democracy, a citizen who has served her country with honesty and integrity, also has some fundamental rights to justice and fair play," the statement added.

Let him go there and clear his name and stop hiding his drug money in the shadow of his late brother.

politics aside, it very wrong for the Nigerian govt to support extradition of her citizen. This case can be disposed off here in Nigeria. My take!
