No way is Yemi Alade running away at this stage to stay in Canada, I can vouch for her. This is like Wizkid, Tiwa or Burna Boy running away after a show abroad. Maybe one of her band members but not her
I think it should be the problem of the organiser of the event, Yemi Alade had been to Canada severally and she shouldnt pose any threat of not wanting to come back

daughters13:
The anti-indecency campaigner and deeper life member, Prince Dele Banjo has staged a peaceful protest at the Deeper Life Headquarters at Gbagada, Lagos.

The protest is in connection with the introduction of unconventional music to Deeper Life.

Prince Dele Banjo stated:

"We are surprised about the introduction of unconventional music as well as the invitation of Gospel rock stars to Deeper Life. We are also surprised about the invitation of local Christian musicians that are not advocates of modesty to deeper life.

We are surprised because pastor Kumuyi who is our father in the Lord did not raise us his children with such music. Instead, he raised us with modesty, holiness and the belief that we should worship God with our book of hymns alone using low toned and humble songs.

Pastor Kumuyi was the one that taught us all we know about modesty and holiness, so we are surprised that our teacher is changing direction and he is inviting international Gospel rock stars and local musicians that are not advocates of modesty to come and sing at deeper life.

We strongly believe that as a holiness church, deeper life ought to stick with our choir and our God given hymn book alone. We don't need unnecessary noise from these American gospel rockstars and these local Christian musicians.

Our God given and humble choir at deeper life that consists of those lovely teenagers, keyboardists and trumpeters is enough for us at deeper life.

Since he is our father in the Lord, we hereby request an explanation from him; we want to our dear father in the Lord to defend the invitation of rockstars and local Christian musicians that are not advocates of modesty.

We hold in our hands the book of hymns in order to prove to everyone that all we need in deeper life is our God given book of hymns.

Thank you very much"
Who composeed the hymns ? What makes songs from Dunsin,Nathaniel Bassey,Don moen less spiritual ?

Again, this is to say a thanks for your advice here.

My mum went there on Monday and you were right; the visa was there. I booked her ticket immediately for same Monday but unfortunately her covid test results didn’t come out so I rescheduled her for Tuesday and as I write this, she’s on her way to USA and will be receiving her shortly.

I’m worried about the Omicron as I don’t want her to spend any more weeks or months in Naija smiley

I wish everyone still waiting a good luck and speed IJN
Thank God for that she wont have any problem at the Point of entry

Please did anyone have an idea of how long it takes for passport to be ready for pick up at GCC Collection Center, VI after the status showed “Issued” since Nov 18th. … My mum didn’t get a text message from DHL neither did I receive any email from them stating that it’s ready for pickup?

I’m planning to have my mum travel end of next week. Do you advise to just go to their office on Monday to check? She’s staying out of Lagos.

Thanks for your advice

Business / Re: Can A Man In His Early 30s Do Akara & Akamu Busines Without Shame? by Ajenikoko89: 4:00pm On Nov 08, 2021
Mylordmygod1:
GOOD DAY NIRALANDERS

I wanted to start up a POS business with my savings of N65k, but the POS man that i consulted to assist me said i would need at least N150k to start up a POS business.

I've really been hustling everyday, doing hard works (especially on bulding sites), taking pain killer drugs on daily basis..

I don't think it will be easy for me to raised my savings up to that amount 'N150k' with the type of work that i do..

I wanted to travel to the city with my ND (National Diploma) result, so i can use it to look for work, I posted it here on nairaland, but 80% of the advice i got from this forum said it will be hard to see a paying job with ND result, while some said it is not even possible. So i couldn't travel again..

Now that my savings isn't enough to start up a POS business, i'm thinking of starting up a standard akara and akamu business and probably extend the business along the run..

As someone known by his people to have went to school, is the business worth the shame?
can that man spend money if yes then he should be able to do that

Travel / Re: Did You Know That The Original Inhabitants Of Australia Are Blacks. by Ajenikoko89: 11:11pm On Oct 23, 2021
Newsleisure:

Did you know that the original inhabitants of Australia are blacks and they are racially discriminated against? Well if you didn’t know, the original inhabitants of Australia are generally called indigenous Australians.

It is said to be that the indigenous Australians previously lived in Africa, and migrated from Africa to Asia around 70,000 years ago before migrating from Asia (Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, East Timor, Indonesia, Philippines) to Australia 45,000 to 50,000 years ago.

This migration was possible due to the lowered sea levels and presence of land bridges between Asia and Australia. Also, the use of watercraft was utilized in some passages.

It is said that after some years the sea level increased, thereby isolating some parts of Australia by turning them into islands and separating them from other parts of the world. This is what made Australia a continent on its own.

The natives who live on the Islands of Australia are called Torres Strait Islanders, while those who live on the Mainland are called Aboriginal Australians.

Studies show that the natives share some genetic similarities with Asians, Africans, and Papuans new Guinea because new Guinea shared territories with Australia before it was separated.

The religion practiced by the indigenous people is mainly Christianity (Anglican and Catholic). The language spoken is Australian Aboriginal English, Australian English, and Kriol.

So many indigenous languages have been extinct due to their ban by the Australian Government. Their population is 3.1% of Australia's population, around 759,705.

The Indigenous Australians have been deprived and racially discriminated against in comparison with the wider Australian community.

since the white Europeans arrived in Australia and declared Australia a no man's land, they conquered Australia by slaughtering the natives and prohibiting them from speaking and practicing their languages and culture. A lot of natives died of diseases such as smallpox, measles, and tuberculosis during the influx of the Europeans. This was due to the low immunity of the natives

Racial discrimination has been on the rising. A survey conducted by Australian academic staff in higher education revealed that more than 70% of Aboriginal academics and professional staff had experienced discrimination and racist attitudes in their workplace.

According to Rachel Siewert an Australian senator he says that Racial discrimination is embedded in the Australian constitution and continues to be enacted in the laws and policies of the state and territories.

While John Pilger an Australian Journalist and Author say that white Australians reserve for the first people of the country particular discrimination, which is both raw and insidious. Both in employment and in health.

The whites are chosen over the indigenous because they feel the whites are more superior in all areas. They claim that discrimination included being told there were no jobs at the council, only to see the jobs offered to white people, even to rent a house, they will have to beg their white friends to do it for them.

Imagine being judged by the color of your skin during a job interview rather than the strength of your c.v how will you feel? Or being distanced from when you board public transport? Due to the lack of jobs and money and education, there is a high level of poverty and illiteracy among indigenous Australians.

Do you know that Africans who are not indigenous Australians but migrate to Australia based on education or relocation are treated harshly by the Indigenous Australians because of the privileges accorded to them, why? you may ask, the answer is jealousy.

The native Australians are saddened over their unfair treatment and they pass their aggression to the Africans who migrate to their country.

The discrimination of these natives harms them, both mentally and physically due to the stress, fear, and negative emotions that accompany it. They can internalize the negative comments and stereotypes they are subjected to.

Eventually, they may no longer look after themselves and neglect sleep and exercise, or may even take into smoking, alcohol, and drugs. One generation can pass on the negative effect of discrimination to the next generation.

Imagine feeling like an outcast, knowing that no matter what you do nothing will change, No permanent solution would be proffered. No matter how hard you work your white contemporaries who work lesser or have less experience and qualification will be partially favored over you.

Imagine how badly treated you are when you meet the police for help and they delay when they see you are of dark skin? The Australian constitution doesn't help matters as it doesn't stipulate punishments for racial segregation against Indigenous Australians. these feelings of hopelessness contribute to indigenous suicide.

The Australian Government adopted the United Nations Declaration On The Right of Indigenous People and set out basic standards for the recognition and protection of Indigenous peoples right worldwide, including identity, land and resources, self-determination freedom from discrimination, culture, traditions, and language .all this is paperwork as it has not being practicalized and implemented.

Let us ask ourselves these questions. Is it a crime to have dark skin? Why are people of color being treated unfairly all over the world? From Yemen to India to Lebanon? No matter the answer proffered there is no justification for the treatment meted out on the blacks. We are not yet free until all races are free from discrimination.

Thanks for your response. In the mail, it states that the main applicant and all additional applicants who wish to migrate with her should do the medicals and appear for the interview. Four out of six children were listed out of which one is married. The last two who are less than 21 were the ones not listed .
Was it your mother's sister that petitioned for her?

Goodmorning everyone. Please my sister filed for my mom. While filling the forms she was asked about the details of other kids my mom has. We just got a mail scheduling her for interview. The names of some of her kids were also listed and they have all been requested to go for medicals and to come for interview as additional applicants. My concerns are:
1. What is the implication of this , does it mean that everyone listed could be granted a visa and subsequently green card.
2. What is the fate of any of the listed persons who is already married.
3. Why were some names omitted.
Thank you.
Where was the name of other children listed? for your sister petitioning for your mother there is no way your mum could have other derivative applicants i mean other children attached and called for an interview maybe the want to know the other children should your mum intend to fill for them in the future.

Oh many thanks for your input and advice. I will surely take this to heart. Yes it's complicated but the attorney handling the case for my sponsor advice us to leave my ds260 has single since that's my current status. Hopefully it won't come up in the interview and if it does, this advice you gave sure makes sense. Thanks once again
Thats better i had someone too that filled married and luckily for him he was going out with his present wife but not married while filling the ds160 form then he wrote the name of her present wife and fast forward during his immigrant visa interview he was asked for how long has he been married and how long he been dating the wife that clear the whole problem for him.

Hi all. Great submissions all through, learnt alot. Glad I found this forum. Like many others, I'm also on this journey that has become such a long tumultuous process of waiting, hoping and praying. My pd is June 2015, DQ May 2021, awaiting interview letter. Having read through almost all pages on this forum, I have a question or should I say a small worry concerning my case or perhaps I'm just being paranoid. My category is F1, but about 3 -4 years ago , I applied for non immigrant visiting visa which was denied but in that application, I filled married, cause I was engaged then and thought I was going to get married, which didn't happen, which makes me single up till today. Now my question to the experts in the house is, now that I'm awaiting my interview letter for my immigrant visa, if that comes through hopefully soon, will I be asked about the change of my marital status at the embassy because of what I filled in my visiting visa application form years ago, or will they just go by what's filled in my ds260 which indicates single? This is my question. Looking forward to your replies. Thank you in advance!
Its such a complicated issue, I would advice you wait till tge Interview letter is sent to you and please dont think of getting any divorce paper for marriage you didnt do because it would surely be verified and that could be very costly.Misrepresentation is a serious issue in US immigrant visa. You can maintain the single and explain that in your culture co habiting is liking to being married .

Please I have a another question

Do you or anyone else know if I can be allowed to go in with her as I plan to come for this purpose. This is because she was denied visiting visa twice earlier before now when I invited her; so I had to change my my and filed/petition for her.

Note: My mum is in her late 50s
You dont need to go with her but make sure all the denied visa information is capture in her ds260 form. All questiobs she would be asked are basic questions

You need to upload 2020 transcript and let her take it along for the interview.

Hi guys,

I got my mum's interview date mail today. Her interview is scheduled for 2nd week in November (next month).

Please I have few questions, how soon is the best time to have her go for her medicals and any idea what the current cost is?

Her police character certificate was received/completed in August 2020 (last year), is this still valid or she needs a new one?

Other than the i-864 affidavit of support forms and original copy of her case approval letter, please is there any other documents I need to send to her from my end?

Thanks for your help with these info.

She can go for medicals from now so that the result can get to embassy on time also,no need for new police clearance as the one she has is valid for 2yrs.She should do attestation of age at any close National Population commission .The petitioner should provide recent tax transcript 2020 and if there is any change in the info given on i864 form like increase in tge income of the petitioner she can fill a new one to reflect the new changes

Not DQ but when current on chart A. My son was 20 years+ 2 months when we DQ February 2020.

The names might still be there, what matters most is the CSPA. My file was approved within 4 months so my son couldn't leverage much time. But for 30+ person, that means you need a good 9 years plus gap between the PD and the approval date.

Thanks sir any news on your IL?
