Last week, I bought a laptop online from a popular UK-used computer selling outlet and due to the reviews I have read about them, I paid online too even before the product was delivered.
What a mistake!

The laptop (hp pavilion dv3) was delivered, and to my surprise, a 5th generation core i5 laptop with 4gb RAM can't run Windows 10 even the Windows 8.1 currently installed lags like crazy.


I later asked them if I could add more money for upgrade and get a better laptop but they said NO that they don't do that.

All I wanted was a simple laptop that I can use to learn Data Analytics and my hopes has just been dashed. I'm just blank right now ☹️

Please do proper deligence if you must buy laptops online, check or ask for anything and everything before you pay o 🧏

Where is your location?

Sometime last month, I stumbled on this thread and realised that it's very possible for me to run my passport registration myself, so I began the process.

As team DIY, I chose the Alausa Passport Office, Lagos after reading good reviews from here.

So today I was at the venue for capturing, I got there some minutes past 9am. An officer attended to me, asked for a copy of the following documents:
Online receipt
Application form
Appointment slip
Guarantor's form
Indigen cert
DOB cert
NIN slip
Data page of guarantor's passport
2 passport photos

She however rejected my guarantor's form saying that the Notary stamp on it is unacceptable. That only a high court stamp will be accepted.

I left the venue to Lagos State High Court, Ikeja to get the form stamped and was charged #2,000 for it because my guarantor was not present with me. The funniest thing is that 200 naira was written on the receipt. I just smiled and collected my form so as to return to the immigration office.

At the immigration office, I showed the officer all these documents again and the process began.

NB; Please make sure to go with your original documents and not scanned copies. She also told me that only the data page of guarantor's intl passport is sufficient and even returned the driver's licence copy I had gone with.

The whole process took about 1 hour and around 1pm, I had left the place after receiving a slip confirming the capturing and January 2024 was stated as collection date.

(1) Yes, you need a NIN slip.
(2) Officially 6 weeks. Unofficially 4 or 5 months. I know someone who had her enrolment at Alausa Passport Office, Ikeja in February 2023. Her passport was produced in June 2023. She chose the do-it-yourself (DIY) route, though.
(3) Would you rephrase this question so that it is clear, please?
(4) If you're in Lagos State I would have suggested Alausa Passport Office, Ikeja.

I've been managing this my laptop for a while now since my main laptop crashed completely.

However, I woke up this morning to a flashing screen. I looked up some online videos and even tried updating the drivers with driverpack solution 12 but the problem remains

Please can anyone walk me through fixing it. I must add that even before now I haven't been able to put the laptop to sleep as the sleep option just blank out.
