Please try and do enough research. USA import is still higher than their exports. We keep on making all these things look so complicated because we are aligning our thoughts with this Lying government.

In terms of exports, we are very much better than most countries. Placing ban on some goods while leaving out Refined crude is useless because that's our major imported good.

Solution is to get our refineries working again, and reduce the amount of stolen money we dump outside.

If you must know, Nigeria even have a positive trade balance, meaning that we export more than we import, as compared to USA that import more than they Export.

USA can afford to do so. Why? Because the USA pays for its import in US $, its own currency!!!!!
Reason why its wealth is almost limitless.

We (the biggest fools on Earth, hence our horrific poverty) choose to spend hard currency buying rice and other simple stuff that we (if we are really human beings) should be able to produce easily ourselves.

NOT TO BILLIONAIRES. LOL.

Stop this nonsense!

A Nigerian billionaire cannot leave the country - his home country. He will not get the clearance to take off or land anywhere!

There is no REAL billionaire in Nigeria. The ones calling themselves billionaires are just rogues stealing from their people and ruining their own motherland. Niggers are difficult to understand.

The highest importers are

USA
China

Germany
Japan.

Are you close to them by any stretch of the imagination?

See this one....yeyes!

These are producer countries involve in mutually beneficial trading. Mutual exchange of products, you buy my computers and mobile phones and I buy your aircrafts.

What are we exchanging for our humongous imports?

Thats why we are poor and jobless, and if care is not taken this horrific poverty will persist for generations.

Clown that mumu excuse doesn't explain why all the policies failed miserably. The ERGP projected a 4.5% growth rate, 11% unemployment rate all by 2020. You weirdos just start rambling platitudes when you have nothing reasonable to say. It's clear you didnt read the document before rambling.

Stopping all importation wont achieve the goals you want. Nigeria has to address the structural issues hindering productivity. There's nothing inherently wrong with importing products. Nigeria is already a net exporter.

I won't argue with you.

Whatever fancy economic jargon or rubbish principles/policies you are quoting or regurgitating it is unsustainable and very dangerous (as revealed by the current pandemic) for 190m people to sit around producing next to nothing while importing every rubbish under the sun.

Our population is growing astronomically unmatched by industrial output, local capacity, ordinary food production!!! So what is the essence of you and I having children or our existence? Just continuing hardship and poverty.

In 2003 she led efforts to improve Nigeria’s macroeconomic management including the implementation of an oil-price based fiscal rule where revenues accruing above a reference benchmark oil price were saved in a special account, “The Excess Crude Account” which helped to reduce macroeconomic volatility

Oga, don't disrespect Nigerians. We dey try. If we had no natural resources, we would be far richer.

The government makes oil money irrespective of how they treat the economy. That's the real problem.

If you have a business and you always eat the capital and profits, maltreat workers and customers, when it's about collapsing, you'll sit up.

But if you have big contracts from two or three companies, you will survive. Same in our country.

FG only needs to keep oil companies happy. The rest can go to hell.

And you blame nigerians?

Wow! You just proved that Nigerians especially the men are capital IDIOTS!

What are the men doing, allowing this situation to continue?

I repeat, capital IDIOTS!

Mumu which one of these products did you become sufficient in due to the import ban. The import ban doesn't address the productivity issues. Are you self sufficient in beef production or are you still importing cows? The import bans also make manufacturing more expensive.

The policy increased unemployment and led to low growth clown. The ERGP failed all its targets. The exact opposite of what you morons claim happened but you guys still run your mouths. Even simple things like unifying the exchange rate was resisted by the CBN.

Idiotic moronic talk. In economics there are time horizons called short term, medium term and long term!
In the longer term we are better off STOPING all importation otherwise we will become pure slaves in our own country.

I'm done replying you

Keep your fake history to yourselves.

There is no historical records of these anywhere......,no corroboration from anywhere. who and who reported to the fake obi? Tell us his sphere of influence? We know Oba of Benin, We know Jaja of Opobo, we know all the kings in Yorubaland and their hierarchy or reporting lines. We know all the various kings in the North and their status and reporting lines.

The British did not find anything similar in igboland.......just loose autonomous villages and compounds all totally rudderless, disjointed without any central control. Reasons Igbo find it so difficult to follow rules or order.

No, it wasn't. It has been in existence centuries before the British came to Nigeria.
The first obi was chima in mid 16th century.
British came to Nigeria in the 20th century ie 1901.
400 yrs after. Google is your friend.
I do hate when people misrepresent this and rub the great onitsha monarch with all those British creation.

TOTAL RUBBISH!

Obi of Onitcha was created by the British to try and force through indirect rule on the igbos who had no central authority and no discernible structure of governance. Nearly every street or compound had its own Eze!
