Life is short

Too short, honestly.

Everything you engage in should therefore serve a purpose.

Don’t let the distraction around you make you lose the focus.

Remember, time lost is never regained.

Unfortunately, man is always in a hurry.

Take time to pause.

When angry, pause.

When in doubt, pause.

When you’ve done your best but don’t see the results, pause.

Learn how to pause deliberately.

It will have a significant impact on your life.

Ya Allah

We beg You to grant us peace of mind amidst the turmoil we face in our daily lives.

Don’t let anxiety and stress get the better of us.

Grant us clarity of vision to do what’s best, what's right and just, always.

Guide us on this journey of life which is often paved with obstacles.

Jumuah Mubarak, Happy Weekend, Happy New Month 💛💚❤🧡🩷

Just within 100 days in office, Dr Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has been able to:

Cleared over 200,000 passports backlog he met in office ✅

Colloborated with the Private Sector to raise over N500m fines owed by over 4,000 of our inmates in order to set them free, thus, decongested our Correctional Centers ✅

Introduced technology in the security of our borders. ✅

Working assiduously to improve the welfare of our paramilitary ✅

Automation of Nigeria’s passport application, a process which is 99 per cent completed. ✅

Introduced E- gate in our international airports, reducing physical contacts with Immigration officers ✅

Reduced the whole process of passport processing to about two weeks ✅

Indeed, Dr Olubumi Tunji-Ojo has demonstrated that the ministry of interior is not just about declaring public holidays, he has set the pace in the ministry so high.

Assalam Alaekum wa Rrahmatullah wa Barakatuhu.

Do you have friends who will speak good about you behind your back?

Friends who will stand up for you and defend you in your absence?

If you have such friends, you’re blessed.

Nurture the friendship.

True friends are those who are willing to show up during all of your seasons - the good and bad, happy and sad, celebration and grief.

The problem today is we have too many fair-weather friends.

Ya Allah,

We sincerely ask You to make us better people today than we were yesterday.

Help us win the fight between desire and discipline so we may get closer to You.

Help us let go of negative people so we may become more positive and grateful with good character and conduct.

The so-called nationwide strike was so massive that the strikers abi na defenders couldn't post photos across Nigeria on how workers observed the strike.

Another flopped one and a failed coup. When would proxy opposition NLC/TUC just rest and allow the government to focus on delivering much needed dividends of democracy.

Shame on all those who expected the strike to have paralyzed the economy of the country. Shame on the jokers. For more of their jokes, Please text strike to NLC.

Islam for Muslims / Jumaat Sermon: Avoid Broken Home At All Cost by ALMUSTAQIM(m): 8:58am On Nov 10, 2023
Assalaam Alaekum wa Rrahmatullah wa Barakatuh

AVOID BROKEN HOME AT ALL COST

Consequences of pride in a marriage could be irreversible.

If someone tells you that he/she has a perfect marriage, just know right away that he/she is a great liar.

Couples fight and fight badly for that matter but it's the ability to revise and reverse ones stand, communicate with respect and be honest with each other that determines the survival of any marital relationship.

If you remove pride and arrogance in your marital relationship, the marriage is already 90% promising, stable, peaceful and can thus, stand the test of time.

Invest in your marriage through giving, talking and compromising here and there.

Your business as a stakeholder in marriage should be what to do to make your home peaceful and stable for you, your spouse, and your children as well other family members.

STOP running to 3rd parties who equally have their own challenges, they are probably hiding and managing. You may end up getting nothing positive or helpful from such friends, family members, Church/Mosque members, and colleagues to whom you are exposing or trading what should be the secrets of your home.

Broken home is like a war. No party goes uninjured. Each party goes with an injury they nurse for the rest of their lives. That is the reality. Whichever party claims unaffected/uninjured is a chronic liar, chronic pretender, and an unrepentant soul. l mean he/she is stone hearted. Such a person has no idea of what a good home should be. He/she is ignorant of the positive impact of unbroken relationship on the home itself, the community, the church/mosque congregation, and the society at large.

No amount of success in life could compensate for failure at home. Simply ensure that your home is not scattered. Repair it now before it is too late.

If your home is experiencing separation now, ensure that you shed your pride and compromise to arrest it from drifting to a broken home.

STOP narrating your home affairs around to seek sympathy. Most people you have taken your story to and are supporting you, are in their own homes, keeping their homes intact, sympathising with you while you are already out of your own home.

To be sincere with you, what you will be treated to outside your home will not be what you bargained for. Think now and go back. May God help and bless you.

In marriages, we are all managing each other and there is no perfect marriage and till death, couples must continue to manage each other.

If your marriage will last, manage your spouse, there is no perfect marriage out there.

Oh Allah,
Please never let our heart be disturbed by the trials of life, open the doors of your mercy to us, ease our ways of life, accept our worship, bless our time, comfort our graves, forgive our sins, grant us favour in everything we do, never forsake us and our family in this world and hereafter, Aamiin.......

Happy Jumaat, Happy Weekend ❤️🩷🧡🧡💚

Politics / On Presidential Yatch And Other Matters - Temitope Ajayi by ALMUSTAQIM(m): 7:20pm On Nov 02, 2023
*On Presidential Yatch And Other Matters* .

It has become a pattern for some individuals, CSOs and a section of the media to pick one or two line items every budget cycle for sensational headlines, deliberately ignoring context in their reporting.

*The public that should benefit from good journalism, which should primarily educate and adequately inform, is left confused and miseducated due to mischaracterisation of issues and misrepresentation of facts.

The trending issues on social media since yesterday are two items in the 2023 supplementary budget. One is the provision for a presidential yacht in the supplementary budget by the Navy and the other is over N6 billion for vehicles to the State House.

It is important to state clearly that President Bola Tinubu didn't ask for a presidential yatch and I doubt he needs one to perform the functions of his office. From what I know, the request for a yacht, however it is named or couched in the budget is from the Navy and they must have operational reasons for why it is required* .

The budget office should be in a position to also explain to the public why such expenditure should be accommodated now, considering the economic situation of the country. I must readily admit that the one reason our budgeting system has been a subject of public attack is the very simplistic way some of the line items are described by civil servants, who prepare the budget. Examples abound. Sometimes in 2016, an Enterprise Resource Planning ( ERP) project of the Ministry of Solid Minerals worth over N300m then was captured in that year's budget as "website". Naturally, it generated a massive controversy as people, rightly, asked to know the type of website that will be built with N300million.

It is important to say that journalism should enrich public enlightenment and not create an atmosphere of siege. It is poor reporting to always reduce State House budgetary provisions to the President and Vice President.

When the State House makes provision for vehicles, it is reported as if it is the President that will use all the vehicles or eat all the food when a provision is made for food and catering services. We have had such inaccurate reporting in the past. A President and Vice President cannot, for any reason, spend N20 million naira to eat in a year if it is about the food they will eat as first and second families. How much food can a person really eat? Yet, we will read headlines that Tinubu, Buhari, Jonathan or whoever the President is wants to spend N5billion on food and catering in a year when in actual fact such budgetary provisions are made to accommodate many state events, meetings, hosting of VIPs, foreign dignitaries, and even visits by other Heads of State, and bilateral and multilateral meetings that the State House will deal with in a given year.

It is worth stating that in August this year President Tinubu as the Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Governments of ECOWAS hosted two extraordinary summits of the regional body over the political crisis in Niger Republic. The two summits required catering services for the ECOWAS leaders and their delegation. Just this past Sunday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was on a State Visit to Nigeria with a delegation of top business men and women from Germany. The President hosted the visiting Chancellor and his delegation to a state banquet. State House budget for food and catering services is spent on such events. It is not spent essentially to feed the President and Vice President.

On matters of vehicles, the N6 billion budget provision is not to buy vehicles for the President and Vice President alone. President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima are not using any new vehicles in their fleet. They are using inherited vehicles. There are hundreds of civil servants and political aides working at the State House who need operational vehicles. I am a senior aide of the President. I am using my personal car and at my own expense since I resumed work more than five months ago.

Like me, virtually all the appointees of the President are using personal vehicles at their own expense for official duties. Most of the vehicles in the pool for various departments are run down. Even members of the State House Press Corps do not have functional bus to ease their movement. I know for a fact that a request for a new bus for State House Press Corps is captured in the supplementary budget for vehicles.

It is necessary to add that none of the political appointees has drawn any benefit and perks from public treasury. I must add that in 5 months, we have not even received a kobo as salary because of procedural issues involved in capturing new appointees on the payroll via IPPIS.

The Presidency is a huge Bureaucracy with hundreds of staff. Any budget head for the State House is to run the system, not for epicurean fantasy of a sitting President and Vice President. In this pageview-centric and social media age, it is easy to provoke public rage. It is also tempting for bloggers and quack journalists to take the easy road of sensationalism to attract traffic to their blogs and news websites. But good journalism, I believe, should be about substance and nuanced reporting.
