Kind of a dumb move by him.
People will stsrt rerouting their flights to continents not banned.
It wiukd have made sense if he banned Europeans living in Europe
If you are not an American or British citizen no airline will accept you onboard so rerouting will never happen.

Dude was already dismissed as a Police officer so the title is wrong and misleading. You can't dismiss someone from a job he never had in the first place when he committed the crime he is accused of.

I don't see anything wrong with what Twoods has said. I don't see any reason to sugar coat anything when it comes to intentional misrepresentation during visa interviews. Its either her husband is resident in the US but not a citizen and she wants to use this opportunity to migrate to be with him OR her husband is a citizen but still married to another person in the US so he is unable to file for her at the moment so she is trying to find her way in.

Just because her husband is a US citizen does not automatically entitle her to a visa. There are numerous cases of spouses of U.S citizens being denied visiting visas and in some extreme cases immigrant visas too. The visiting visas are always viewed as a means to circumvent the immigration process by spouses of U.S citizens especially from poorer countries who may not want to go through the lengthy wait times associated with the processes of K1 , CR1 or IR1 Visas.

My sincere gratitude as I await your response.
Obviously you are applying for the baby so they baby's name had to be on the itinerary.

I also saw allow for 1-2 days for receipt payment acknowledgement. Did you actually had to wait that long for the slip. I have just this week to get the visa. Travelling next week and I don't want stories that touches the heart.

Thank you as I await your response.

I paid online so there was no waiting . I just printed the necessary forms and payment acknowledgement receipt. I also paid for expedited service n Paid for overnight delivery and return service. It took 3days.

Please anyone with information on how to get the Nigerian Visa should please share. I have been on the Nigeria embassy Atlanta page and I see conflicting information there. How do I go about it?

Avoid Washington DC and Atlanta. Those two places set their own rates n rules. New York consulate was what I used . Atlanta just started using a third party service provider (OIS) for $90 extra for visa applications.

My husband told me that he saw a Nigerian lady in Richmond FM 1640 RD post office trying to get information on money order but the man kept telling her to go join the queue. She apparently lost her spot on the queue when she went to make inquiries. By the time she came back she was way behind and she had an Infant so he offered her his spot. He said he is sure she must be on Nairaland shocked. I hope this spirit of looking out for one another will thrive. I hope you were able to apply for the passport eventually sha. Cheers.

Nigerian law forbids those with dual citizenship from applying for job like DSS or NNIA, so i'm out of it.

But you can be Minister of defense but not a DSS operative? I would think the minister had a higher level of security clearance . Sen Obanikoro has dual citizenship and was a Minister of defense in Nigeria.

Donald Trump just named this clown as his pick for attorney general!!!!!

Chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security, and Refugees, Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions.

Sessions has been flogging the repeal of birthright citizenship since at least 2010, when he was quoted saying:

I’m not sure exactly what the drafters of the (14th) amendment had in mind, but I doubt it was that somebody could fly in from Brazil and have a child and fly back home with that child, and that child is forever an American citizen.”

Oh please, keep quiet! Yes, you heard me, be quiet! You keep yapping about MIHS package being for residents, hence Naija mamas not being entitled to it, did you check to see if it had any of such conditions? This screen shot you posted is for the new package when they had stopped accepting out-of-town patients. The previous package didn't have ANY condition whatsoever.

Vivianobas made an oversight with the resident clause and you quickly picked on it and even after someone pointed it out, you still refused to let it go. Same with other ill-informed mamas tagging along with you.

We should all be careful of whatever we discuss here. There are VOs and POE officers reading. We don't want them thinking all MIHS mamas and others that used package deals did something illegal. We don't want to give the wrong impression about mamas here. We already have it so hard, we don't need any more issues.

Moreover, 99% of mamas here used/use subsidized deals. Without any form of subsidy, no hospital in the US will cost less than $10,000-$15,000 for uncomplicated child birth. Some hospitals are just more subsidized than the others. That doesn't make them medicaid prone.

A friend's husband was refused visa some weeks ago because the wife paid less than $6,000 in an LA hospital. The VO insisted that no hospital in the US costs that low for childbirth. Another was sent back from Chicago POE for using another package deal for less than $5,000.

It could be MIHS on the line of fire now, it will be others tomorrow. Eventually, we will all be scared of using affordable deals cos of the unforseen consequences. Where does that leave us? We shouldn't corroborate the VOs stories here by implying that those affordable deals of less than $10,000 must have been paid for by the government or that mamas are not eligible for them.

Just thought to clear the air.

My post clearly acknowledged the fact that the contract may be different. I know everyone has the right to be st upid on a faceless forum but you are abusing that privilege. Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.Don't come for me unless I send for you.

You are not right. She delivered in 2014 and in those year MIHS used another text in there maternity package. It was like that

"...This Plan is not limited to Maricopa County residents, and does not have any income requirements.

Eligibility Requirements: The mother must agree to deliver her baby at Maricopa Medical Center (MMC) and sign a Maternity Package Plan Agreement. This Agreement is not for patients with health insurance for maternity care or for patients that are enrolled in AHCCCS."

If you actually took the time to read my post I was very clear . I said if the form I had posted was the contract she had signed then she wasn't qualified. I never made any blatant assumption that what I had posted was applicable to her.

Ajuju inspire of the current issues arising due to `cheaper options, if you ever read the MIHS package you would see that it is clearly written there that eligibility for the package was determined by the mothers readiness to birth at their facility and the same package has it boldly written in black and white that there were no income or level of income requirements. So it was open to anyone at the time.

This wouldn't be the first time you have passed a comment without being conscious of others feelings. Please be a little more empathetic..... Just thought to point it out.
I hope you don't take this wrongly though!

This attachment clearly states that applicants must be full time residents at the time of signing the contract for this delivery package. If this was what you signed up for you were not qualified to enjoy that benefit because visitors on B1/B2 visas cannot be FULL time residents!
Maricopa County Resident—an individual who has lived in Maricopa County for 50 days AND lived in the State of Arizona for at least one year prior who is a U.S. Citizen or in a lawful immigrant status.

@madameU this is a solid argument for u. If accounting subsidized, you did not know.

@Madameu : Was MIHS delivery package the correspondence you used for your visa interview? Or you switched Hospitals after you arrived at POE? If you used MIHS then your case should be pretty straight forward. When VOs ask for hospital correspondence and budget breakdown they are doing a mental calculation to make sure people are not about to use subsidised packages meant for residents. Let's stick to what we use during interviews because it will end up being our savior in cases like these. Nobody gets admitted to a particular college and then arrives at POE and then decides to switch colleges. There are procedures.

I know say una sabi grammar wella for nairaland grin You all will agree with me that most Americans do not pay cash for medical care, hence the reduced package when you are a self pay patient. As at 2012 when I used MIHS, I got another self-pay package for around $3,000 in San Diego but opted for MIHS because my brother insisted that I stay in Phoenix. 2012 is over 4 years ago and I refuse to accept that spending a little under $3,500 (including pediatrician fee, circumcision and drugs) for childbirth then was cheap.

People that used MIHS will attest to the fact that a lot of Latinos and Somalias use MIHS hence the reduced self pay package.

While I was in California last year, an hospital gave me a breakdown for self pay maternity package for under $4,500 which my friend used 7 weeks ago, will this also be regarded as too cheap? It is a known fact that some POEs have overzealous immigration officers, the onus is also on us to identify these POEs and avoid them like plague. In my own case, I have not had any problem going in and out of the US (divine favour).

I came out of retirement/ghostmode to air my views on the MIHS thing. I wish you all peace and favour on all sides.

Total bill $3,500? The bill was subsidised whether you believe it or not. You can always test your theory by going through Chicago POE when next you travel {Insert sarcasm} grin

Hi Mismarshal, it will interest you to know that I started this whole MIHS thing on nairaland after I delivered. I can authoritatively tell you that your friend didn't tell you the truth about why she was turned back at POE. MIHS maternity package was not subsidized by the government but was rather created for low earning citizens/immigrants. I have travelled to the US five times since my delivery and no immigration officer has requested to see my payment receipt.

I know a lot of people benefited from MIHS maternity package while it lasted and hope they will come online soon to corroborate my claim.

If indeed the highlighted portion of your statement is true how does someone on a B1/B2 visa qualify as a citizen or immigrant in other to benefit from this subsidised package? You have clearly from your post inadvertently admitted that people enjoyed benefits they were not entitled to at MIHS created specifically for low income residents . Nobody on this journey would have been granted any visa if we had claimed that we were low income earners in the first place. So, anyone with MIHS receipts better avoid the aforementioned POEs
