My brother,gurus have given you the best answers,but,you don't want to accept that you MAY have been scammed.The only way to check your application status is by providing your Application number,Name,DOB.Application number can only be provided by agent,because he is processing your application.Asides all these,you may have to wait eternity.Like someone suggested,ask the agent for a refund as you don't want to go ahead with the application.

My sincere advice,don't come during Ramadan to look for a job.Apart from offices not opening,the sun can melt ur shoes and even burn your credentials .Instead,gather money and come from September,October,etc.It is easier to get jobs during these months because,some people who ran away during summer may never come back and employers need those spaces to be filled up.
But,if you have already gotten ur visa during Ramadan,then you are left with no choice,come and try your luck.while coming please bring garri and yam.

I was responding based on SIMAYG's advice on someone who promised him an employment visa as a cleaner,and i advised that he comes with a 3 months visa to search for a job himself,then another person,now complained that it isn't easy getting a 3 months visa and i tried to press down my point that, it is always best to come here and see the kind of job that u want to do.
If my advice isn't a nice proposal for a life changing adventure,then,you can share yours and we are willing to learn from your advice too.

We always advice people to get a 3 months visa,book your flight and come for job hunting.Only then,you can verify the pros and cons of any kind of Job,be it cleaner or washer.This advice is to avoid someone telling you its an employment visa,only for you to find out that, it is a fake visa or a one month that you are holding.However,if you think you trust the person,go ahead and get the employment visa.Be wise.

Everyone of us deserve something better guy.But,no matter how bad it is,you have used it to gain your stay,which is vital.Some have worked and at the end they were told that,they won't do employment visa for them and they went back home.u know what i mean.The more you think of how bad the job is,the more the weight of the job will keep resting on your head.Some people here have done more degrading jobs and today they are living in a better place.First,you have started,take it one step at a time.Just take it that,ur remaining 4 months will cover Ramadan,summer et al.Then,you can start job hunting in September & October,which are the best times to get a job.Life is in stages & men are in sizes.

The company said I'm free to cancel as long as I get another job and refund the cost they incurred in processing my visa. I think it'd be best if I patiently wait till I go for medical and obtain my emirate ID right?
Another confusing thing is, while searching for another job (when I must've have gotten my Emirate Id), should I be concerned about a company that'd process another employment visa for me? Or would I be regarded as someone with 'own visa'

Do your medicals,get your emirates card and residency stamped on your passport.get dusted with all that.When you get another job,they will need to cancel your existing employment visa with your employee,then, your new company will start processing another employment visa for you,then the process starts all over again,doing medicals,getting ur emirates card again and residency stamped.
But please finish one process before starting another.Make you fist hold ur Emirates card for hand,before you de think of cancellation and all that.You can't be regarded as someone with own visa,because you didn't pay for it,don't forget that everything is collated in the system,you can't rob peter to pay paul .

It is important you mention the Emirate that you will be residing so that, people living in that area will contact you.There are Churches in UAE,no need to be in a hurry to attend.

X-ray for TB.As,your lungs will show it,even if you have had it before,the scars will be seen on the x-ray films.
