Family / Re: Christland Sex Scandal: Where Did We Go Wrong? What No One Is Talking About by BabbanBura(m): 2:55am On Apr 22, 2022
HardMirror:
1. Are children of these days worse than the older generation?

I see a lot of myopic comments claiming the world has spoil finish. This is not true. Underage children has been engaging in stupid things from the days of Adam and Eve. Children that grew up in an environment where they learned about sex early always end up having sex early. When I was still in Primary school in the 1990s, I knew some of my classmates who where already sexually active and I attended one of the best schools in Jos.

The problem is the internet only makes it easier for children these days to get access to porn and things that corrupt them. Children will always do stupid things it is not a new thing or a big deal sef. They are children and need guidance.

Many of us judging these kids 2ould have used our phones to watch porn if we had smart phones back in our days too. Children are curious and porn would interest them.

2. Private Schools with wahala.
This Is another short sighted thought people are propagating. They think private schools are terrible in management.
They are talking of Dowen collage cultism and now chrisland issue. They say private schools are over rated. Well, they are wrong. If any child trusts you and tells you what happens in their schools, You will fear god.

Secondary school girls are doing runs in public schools and all their classmates know
The boys are doing yahoo.
They have cults too. Infact cultism from secondary school is very very old especially public schools.

3. Only girls are victims
people have been one sided judging matters always against the males. If not for the video leak, many Nigerians were already out calling for the heads of the boys. Women know they can always get public sympathy and they are abusing it. They are using it unduly to revenge and hurt people they dont like. They cry rape when they need to deal with a man. Is it not a possibility that it was the girl that initiated the truth or dare game? Do we even know if it was the girl that initiated sex with those boys? We dont have these answers yet people jumped into conclusion and many even insisted that the girl must have been drugged by the boys because they believe only boys can be bad. Girls are always good

4. Where did we go wrong?
Humans have always been bad, humans would always make bad life decisions. Children particularly would do things that are wrong because that is how children are. Exposure to social media is not helping them, giving them mobile phones is not helping, movies, music are all confusing them.

The worst influence on these girls are Ladies. You ladies always twerking online, always taking suggestive videos. The only thing you do on tick tok is dance and twerk. You sexualize every picture you take even pictures you take in church. The younger girls begin to develop the wrong mindset that sex is the most important thing most of you girls cannot take a picture without emphasizing your butt or boobs.
. The reason why I focused on women towards the end is because there is this assumption that it is men that sexually expose children. The moment a child is discovered to be sexually adventurous, the public begins to ask that all the men in the family including the dad of the child be suspected. This has been the way it has been for ages, men Are always the evil ones in the eyes of the society. That is why the mum of the chrisland girl came out to play the same old rape card instead of addressing the moral delinquency issue of the children involved

Excellent piece bro.

Health / Re: My Ambition To Be A Dancer Landed Me In Aro By John Adeleke by BabbanBura(m): 8:22am On Apr 21, 2022
tonyluyi1985:
Our correspondent John Adeleke went to the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta where he talked with a young man who is now an out patient there. He discussed his dancing ambition and how he ended up being a patient.

Have a happy reading:

My assumed name for the purpose of this story is Luke Edet and I am from Akwaibom State even though I was born and bred in Abeokuta the capital of Ogun State.

I am the last child and have three siblings. I have always loved dancing. I can recall as a kid when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would always mention that I wanted to be a dancer. I admired them on television and practiced all the latest dance steps that were in vogue.

This didn’t go down well with my conservative parents who wanted me to have a regular career so that I could have a good job with a good pension plan and take care of them alongside my siblings in their old age.

I went to boarding school in Enugu and it was fun as I made lots of friends from different ethnic groups in the country. I shared my dancing aspiration with some of them and they whole-heartedly endorsed it.

A friend advised that I needed to ‘get high’ to be able to dance well and that most professional dancers were usually high on drugs. At this point, I started smoking marijuana which gave me a temporal relief from life’s troubles and cruel blows.

I finished secondary school and moved back home. I wasn’t really interested in furthering my education as I didn’t see the need for a certificate for my chosen career despite my parents’ pleas that I can always go back to dancing but I should at least get a university degree.

I participated in several dance competitions and signed up to some artistes which exposed me to some good money and the fine things of life. As a generous person, I brought home the goodies and this made my mum have a rethink about her earlier stance of not wanting me to be a dancer as in her words she was beginning to reap the fruits of her labour. She then encouraged me to follow my passion and gave me her unwavering backing. My dad though secretly proud of me wouldn’t stop complaining about my non intention to acquire a university education.

I bought my first car – the one which Nigerians call Honda Baby Boy and was living on the fast lane as I had wad, wine and women. I was gradually building a name for myself in the music industry and was a backup dancer for some popular artistes which made me permanently relocate to Lagos as it was the headquarters of entertainment in the country.

I moved from the backwaters of Abeokuta to highbrow Lekki Phase One at barely 20 and was really happy as well as fulfilled at how far I had come within a short space of time.

I got a call from my immediate elder sister one fateful day which changed my life forever. She called when I was in a rehearsal to tell me that my darling mother who sacrificed everything for me passed on in her sleep without any sign of an illness.

I was devastated and my world came crumbling all of a sudden. I became withdrawn and avoided everyone including my then girlfriend and my manager. I would look myself up in my room and brood from morning till night.

I left Lagos without telling anyone for the burial and cried myself hoarse especially when the corpse was being lowered to the grave.

After the burial I lost interest in everything and became a shadow of myself. I carried her pictures with me and kept staring at her face and calling her name. My dad was concerned and tried to keep me company; my manager came around and told me of some lucrative gigs he had secured for me as a way of cheering me up but I didn’t care anymore as I had lost interest in things which I once loved.

I tried getting close to God and sometimes would go for Sunday and week day service. I recall one particular week day service when the Pastor preached about the miracle of Lazarus being brought back to life by Jesus Christ. I can remember my shouting that he could do the same for my mum. I screamed like a deranged banshee and can’t recall what happened next.

I woke up to find myself in the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta.

Nobody told me how and why I was brought there which only made me more hostile. I remember being beaten up mercilessly by the Crisis Intervention Team when I ‘misbehaved’ and on one occasion made a futile attempt at escaping.

When I had a session with my doctor, he told me that the twin combination of substance abuse and grief brought about by my beloved mum’s demise were responsible for my being admitted.

I lost my self confidence and had no desire to live for anything. I got a text message from my manager that he had no more interest in working with a mentally deranged client as the news of my admission had circulated widely in the entertainment circuit. An online tabloid did the story with my name and picture and it trended for days also on social media.

Bowing to pressure from my dad, I decided to go to the University to study business administration since my entertainment career was now history.

My dad and brother finance my medications purchase and I live in despair and hopelessness as I am dismayed at my banal existence rather than living up to my real potentials as an entertainer.

I finished my degree and NYSC; job hunting took an incredible emotional toll on me and I simply gave up.

Lately, I have been toying with the idea of relocating permanently to the US but the reality facing me is that I don’t have the funds for it. As a way of escaping from my unemployment and poverty troubles, I follow American entertainment news on a daily basis which acts as a potent placebo for my woes.

When Kanye West came out as a bi polar disorder patient, it gave me a strong ray of hope that I wasn’t alone and that I could achieve all what I set out to do despite my health challenge. I resolved deeply within me that I was going to be a dancer in the US despite the water that had passed under the bridge.

I hung Kanye’s picture on my room wall to constantly remind me of my dream to legally migrate to God’s own country.

Dominion791:
I've been seeing this girl for the last few months, since early January of this year. Not an official relationship and we haven't really talked about what we are. Not sure exactly how to describe her so I'm just going to use her as a friend in benefit as the description.

There was some emotion in our relationship but it was mostly sexual. I've always been really, really good about using condoms and this is the first time I've ever been in this pregnancy situation.

I'm pretty unsure if I am the father. We had sex about twice a week for the last three months. So I have no clue who she saw or was with nor do I really care to be honest. There is more than a little doubt in my mind if I am the father.

For what its worth she insists I am the father but I don't know. She learned she was pregnant on March 22nd. She Told me on 24th. I immediately encouraged her to get an abortion I've offered to cover it all cost . She said she would think about. Its been almost 2 weeks and no abortion.

I spoke to her this morning and its becoming kind of clear that an abortion probably isn't happening. She is starting to get kind of tired of me pushing the abortion. I don't know what else to do. I'm starting to really get scared I am only 21 and I don't even have a job. I can't afford to raise a child right now and I certainly don't want a family right now. I'm thinking of telling her to reconsider the abortion or take care of the baby alone.

What do I do now?

E don happen!

AuthenticNG:

The Aso Rock Cabals has decribed former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan as being a traitor. Former President Goodluck Jonathan has rejected some of the conditions given to him by members of the Aso Rock (Presidency) cabal to get the 2023 presidential automatic ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), ANG learnt.

One of the conditions was that Jonathan must officially defect to the APC with some Peoples Democratic Party governors in the South-South and South-East regions.

The cabal, comprising some members of President Muhammadu Buhari’s extended family and friends, are the powers behind the throne.

This group is said to have the ear of the President, influence policy-making and determine those who get major appointments.

Sources told revealed that the former President rejected the conditions and told the cabal he doesn’t have interest in the 2023 presidency again.

His response, it was gathered, embarrassed the cabal members who described the former President as a traitor.

“They are now accusing Jonathan of not fulfilling some of his promises after all the several meetings and soft-landing given to him.

“He was to come on board by converting some PDP states in the South-South and South-East to APC, and that way he would get the automatic ticket uncontested. Some other conditions were also given to him.

“But guess what? He told them he won't contest again. They are now angry, saying he was deceitful. They said after getting some of his seized monies back, his wife’s monies returned to him, he finally decided not to contest,” a top source told revealed, thursdays.

Reports that members of the ‘Aso Rock cabal’ had promised Jonathan the 2023 presidential ticket of the ruling APC.

It was also reported that the cabal members had warned the President against handing over to the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and Bola Tinubu, the national leader....

No matter the amount of good players in a Team, if the individual players each play his own thing and not as a cohesive one body playing a certain way together at any given time, that time will flop. Politics / Re: Vice President Yemi Osinbajo's Presidential Declaration Speech by BabbanBura(m): 1:02pm On Mar 31, 2022
Lhanre:
Fellow Nigerians, a few moments ago, I met with President Muhammadu Buhari. I informed him that I wanted to succeed him as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Though it is not my life-long ambition, it has become imperative that to rescue Nigeria, we need someone to build on the achievements of President Buhari. I have looked around; I do not see anyone better suited to carry on that solemn assignment than my humble self.

As a great father of the nation, which Buhari is, he wished me well.

I took this bold step after a wide-ranging consultation with Nigerians of various ethnic, religious, and economic hues. I listened to market women and men, I sat down with the young and old, I heard from students and intellectuals, I broke bread with the unemployed and the underemployed, I accepted the counsel of traditional rulers and kingmakers across Nigeria, and more importantly, I weighed in the opinion of my wife and children. All the signals that I got were positive. Go PYO.

Unlike all those who want to rule you as their subjects, I offer myself to serve our great country, Nigeria, with utmost humility. Growing up in Lagos, I did not know that I would be where I am today – one heartbeat away from the presidency of this great country. Having been here, having seen all parts of Nigeria from a close range, having worked beside a great but humble leader, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, for almost seven years now, having interacted with leaders at federal, state, and local government levels, I have a burning desire in me to continue with Buhari’s master-plan for Nigeria.

The masterplan may not be clear to some of you, my compatriots, but there is a masterplan coming together. The worldwide economic downturn, COVID-19 pandemic, and decades of lack of investments in Nigerian infrastructure may have blurred what President Buhari has achieved. But trust me, he has taken Nigeria to a new height. Though you may not feel it, you may not honestly say that you are better off today than you were in 2015, but believe me, in things that matter most, values and sincere leadership, our country is in a better place.

My fellow Nigerians, trust me when I say that no matter how dark it looks, we are on the right path. The temporary disruptions that we see today, the blurriness caused by the dust in the air should not blind us to the long time gains of our investments of this day. I share in your pains of this day of cultivation. Inshallah, we shall all smile soon as harvest time comes.

The Nigeria of 2015 was an active erosion site, swallowing homes, roads, and farmlands. What we have done is to channel the floodwater away from the site. Though the gullies are still collapsing and expanding at some places, fundamentally, we have plucked the remote causes. I seek the presidency to begin the next level of the project, which is to fill up the gullies, recover our once lost land and begin reconstruction. In my time as president, you will see mansions rising in our fatherland once overrun by ugly gullies.

I have looked around the field of those aspiring to be president. Though they may be honorable men and women in their own right, none of them has what it takes to complete the job that President Buhari started. This is not the time to bring in people who were not there when the corpse was buried and have them start digging from the legs.

Those of you who watched with amazement what I accomplished in those few days that President Buhari handed power to me can attest that if I get only four years to be the steward of this great nation, I will turn Nigeria into what Ronald Reagan called “a shining city on a hill.”

As we know, some people are born corrupt. Some people have corruption swimming all around them. I am clothed in a bright gown of integrity. Integrity is modest, integrity is humble and integrity never fails to accomplish and excel. I never have and will never steal from the Nigerian people. Those who steal are greedy. Period. They never change. Please do not believe them when they say they are born-again.

I am vast in the rudiments of nation-building and sustainable economic growth. When I come into my own as president, that skill set will make all the difference. It helps that more than all the pretenders in the political arena, I am hardworking, I am committed to my stated goals and I am determined to rise above all my enemies and my competitors. My vision for Nigeria is clear and simple. I want Nigeria that is great but just, prosperous but fair and progressive but united. Justice, fairness and unity are very close to my heart.

I have never cheated to be where I am in life. We are where we are as a nation because we have allowed some people to cheat and steal their ways to what we call success. I made myself what I am today by converting challenges into opportunities. That is the philosophy that I will bring to my presidency. I will deploy this philosophy to lure back our compatriots who have lost faith in the Nigerian project. They will give Nigeria a second chance when they see my sincerity of purpose.

I understand the internal factors dragging down the economy of Nigeria. I have the foreign and nationwide connections that I need to speed up the economic renaissance of our nation. When it comes to security concerns, I will take decisive actions to quell the lingering security problems across Nigeria. As someone close to the beaming youth of this nation, I know how to inspire them to deploy their restless energy into productive ventures. I have done it on tiny scales in line with my limited portfolio as vice president. As president, I will multiply my effort by 100 million folds.

Those who know me well will tell you that I am like water. I have no enemy. I will carry every part of the country along in the journey of Nigeria’s emancipation. Yes, that is what PYO stands for – total and final emancipation of Nigeria. We are all children of God, and the God that I serve does not discriminate. I firmly believe that what is good for my children must be extended to the children of the lowest citizen of our country.

I believe now is the time to reverse this current system where we leave a great majority of our people to wait for crumbs to trickle down to them from the table of the rich and mighty. When I am president, I will ensure that the least amongst us have the first choice before the mighty. Having run “TraderMoni” and school feeding programme, having worked with young entrepreneurs starting a business, I know the potential in them. I will not let that potential go to waste anymore.

I know what most of you are waiting to hear. What about my great friend and benefactor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (aka BAT)? As you all know, I have tremendous respect for Asiwaju, Jagaban Borgu. But in matters of the fate of 200 million Nigerians, we cannot afford to let emotions rule us. The situation of Nigeria today is so critical. We need a healthy, vibrant, and untainted leader to handle the situation, now that we still can.

The same goes for other aspirants from all the other political parties. We have no room to play around anymore. We have no space for people who will learn on the job. We have no patience for those carrying a truckload of toxic baggage. The urgency of our situation is palpable.

For this and other reasons, I offer myself to serve our great nation by declaring my interest in running for president. It will be the greatest honor of my life to serve you all.

May God bless you all. And may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

I have more faith in this man more than anyone else gunning for the presidency race

ashacot:
INSECURITY: NORTHERN LEADERS INCLUDING THEIR RELIGIOUS LEADERS INSTITUTIONALIZED POVERTY AND ILLITERACY. IT FAILED THEM AFTERWARDS

I remember many years ago 2005, in an AIT early morning program (KAKAKI) on politics, the political analyst on the show while answering a question on a list released by the Bureau of Statistics and world bank about the poverty and unemployment level of the country, He said in quote "the situation of the country is time bomb. Soon, there will be high level of insecurities that successive governments will find difficult to tame if nothing is done about it". Many years after he and many who warned the country about this, the country has been riddled with insecurities from all front.

This has been aided largely by the northern government. There is no doubt that large number of idled people in poverty line is an inevitable danger to any country. The northern leaders look like they are more motivated to impoverish their clan than educating them. They encourage polygamy even when it is certain that resources to carter for such is very slim. Hence many of the produce of such marriages are exposed to certain ways of life.

The major reason why terrorism especially will be difficult to end in the north is poverty and illiteracy. These has made young persons in the region to be easily recruited into terrorist groups. Let us not forget that this has nothing to do with their religion. Saudi Arabia for example is the headquarters of muslims. Yet they don't allow their population to grow beyond their means. Nigeria population is growing in Geometric progression. As at 2015, our population was 195million, but today our population is over 2015million. Compare to same Saudi Arabia that their population in 2015 was 31 million but is now 34million in 2022. Over 65% of the increase in our population since 7years is from northern Nigeria. Most out of school children are from the northern part of the country, most unemployed, unskilled are from the northern parts.

Terrorism may not end through the guns alone. Terrorism can only end through looking inward to eradicate poverty and educate the younger generation of the northern youths. Just like infrastructure drives every economy, poverty and illiteracy drives insecurity. The north need to go on a soul searching. Wether you like it or not, your population is too much for the little resources available to Nigeria hence your youths will be easily poached by terrorist group.

Very true but the political elite is only after embezzlement that they will die and leave the loot behind

Truth will still come out.
Past gory images on twitter have turned out to be fake.
I believe she has a family and one should expect to hear from them by now.

This should not be another lekkilies where suddenly all those reportedly killed turned out alive or having no relatives come out to state that any of their relative missing or dead.
Never again will we allow twitter be used to peddle fake news and hate news.

Her family should please speak up. Twitter is not her family or family compound.

Those speaking ill of Nigeria because they hate Buhari will reap what they sow.

If you sow good in Nigeria, good you will reap and if you sow curses, curses and badluck you will eventually reap from Nigeria. Nigeria will never bless you and whatever you sow in Nigeria.

Are you evil people still talking? May these catastrophes befall your closest of family members and may the whole world discredit it, amen!

MOTHER-IN-LAW'S PRESENCE HAS AFFORDED HER A PERFECT EXCUSE. DON'T WORRY SHE'LL LEAVE ONE DAY AND YOUR WIFE WILL PROBABLY COME UP WITH ANOTHER REASON WHY SHE WON'T SLEEP WITH YOU. YOU'RE ENJOYING A SHARE OR RESENTMENT AND EMOTIONAL DISCONNECT AND YOU'RE ALLOWED TO KEEP DREAMING THAT THINGS WILL GET BETTER. BUT THE REALITY IS THAT NOTHING REALLY GETS BETTER. YOUR WIFE DOESN'T THINK YOU'RE ATTRACTIVE ANYMORE (ASSUMING YOU EVER WERE) AND THERE'S HARDLY ANY TURNING BACK FROM HERE. GOOD LUCK TRYING TO FIX YOUR PROBLEMS THOUGH. THINGS YOU COULD HAVE AVOIDED BY NOT BEING A BETA FROM DAY ONE.

Quite a possible perspective, I know a few couples who are in this boat. Op be sure say ya own case no be this kind woo!!
