"-stan" is Persian and means "land of..".
So it is legitim for some countries like Afghanistan and Tajikistan to end their name with -stan because these countries are majority Persian speaking countries.

Also do the regions of Kurdistan and Lorestan have a legitim claim on the ending -stan because the languages of these regions belong to the Iranian language family.

Other countries like Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan or Turkmenistan have the -stan ending because in Centralasian middleage lingua franca in these regions was Persian. So many Turkic speaking peoples took this ending but it still wasn't common there. It first became common when Soviet government had created the ASSR Turkestan and splited it later in SSR Kazakhstan, SSR Kyrgyzstan and so on. So the real creator of this common ending for Turkic country names was the USSR.

And the last known one is Pakistan.
Pakistan is just an acronym for [P]unjab, [A]fghania (todays Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), [K]ashmir, [I]ran, [S]indh and Balochis[tan].

Why are flight attendants paid so poorly?

I don't know… is it really so poorly paid?

I work about 6 days a month (4* long distance (2* outbound/2* homebound), 2* short), am away from home 10 days total, the remaining days of the month are my days off.

My monthly pay after taxes is little over $2400. That's without money for food/drinks/sundries that the carrier pays me every layover - that varies highly and depends on destination and duration of the layover. I often get about $300-500, but could max to $1000 (monthly).

My total financial obligations is 1/3 of my earnings. I have a lot of free time and have no financial worries.

Edited side note: Want to know a famous haberdasher that single handedly saved millions of peoples lives even today? Antonie van Leeuwenhoek - the inventor of the microscope. Bet he was the life of the high class party pulling out his home made magnifying glass and showing people the little animalcules crawling on the King’s head.

As well back then there was no justice system of which the likes we enjoy today. The King and eventually his nobles - more accurately his Lords - were the single solitary source of “justice” or legal system back in those days.

Though a few unscrupulous swindlers attempted to sell wigs made of horse hair, goat hair, or even straw! No noble worth his salt would be caught dead with a matted straw wig going to the King’s banquet.
