giving birth to your child in Canada could deny that child the right to run for the office of the president

But then since the child's mum is a natural born US citizen, that may be a waiver. just saying

The Canada thing may not be necessary tho, just my opinion.

Bonne Chance mon Frère, et félicitations

it is not necessary. it is just my wish. And also for wider job/school opportunities plus health benefits for the kids when they grow older. Schools are expensive here in America. So also is medical costs. I just wanna give the kids an opportunity to choose in the future. I wish someone gave me that opportunity to choose the citizenship i want.

Also, not really true about the Presidency. i feel the republicans are big Hippocrates. Ted Cruz was born in Canada to Cuban dad and American mum, yet it wasn't a big deal running for president. However, they wanted to see Obama's birth certificate.

What if you got really popular/Famous in the future (and maybe become an American politician) and people started digging your past to find out you did arrangee marriage?

just think about that for a minute.

The people that pisses me more are the Single naija guys that has never been married before doing "arrangee".. Are you all stupid or something. Do you guys have low self esteem or something.

So, if you have never been married before you can't set a goal for yourself?. So you mean you can't find someone that you both make each other happy even if not for life, for at least 5 years/ Really? you have to pay one old ugly/young,fat lady to marry you? really people?

I understand the married people in Naija to a certain extent that move to the US to get their papers. But why do you guys lie a lot? i don't understand why?. i won't recommend you to keep lying about your past just to get papers. These ladies are humans, they have feelings, they get emotional, get get heart breaks, the can be depressed, suicidal all because you get their hopes and emotions so high and shatter it in the end. There is Karma and i believe in it.

You all do these and later bring your gf/wives from Nigeria and they make you lives miserable afterwards. KARMA!!!

Someone asked me what i think of 'Arrangee Marriage" via PM and i want to reply openly here.

I hate it. i really really hate arrangee and i think people that do arrangee are not smart. I understand lots of Immigrants are just trying to make a better life for themselves and families BUT arrangee isn't the way to go.

It is expensive, it makes the whole process even more worrisome, it keeps your mind unsettled and it can make your situation worse if you got unlucky. Even if you got lucky, you might still face issues in the future regardless of you becoming a citizen or not.

lets analyze it together.

You paid money to someone to marry you and pretend to be your wife, you paying for her upkeep all during the process, pay for bills and documents together in your name, paid lawyer and then your "wife" keeps calling for for more money every time threatening to end the process if you don't. Even if she doesn't threatening you, getting hold of her is a big problem, you can't reach her cell, she doesn't pick your call, she ignores you, doesn't fill the documents you send to her or doesn't send you the documents you need. how does that put your mind at ease?

lets imagine she did all that and your interview is fast approaching. you start to panic because you don't know your "arrangee" wife very well and not sure the questions the interviewing officer will ask. You got unfortunate and your interview went south and application was denied. things start getting worse from there because you need more money for the process and most likely "new wife" and now immigration has your record that you filed before. so now it is really really hard to prove you are genuine. so, your life becomes hell, you can have deportation order against you for immigration Fraud while you spend years in the US without proper documentation. you start speaking "i wanna, i gonna" to your naija people with nothing to show for years of living in the US.

Lets assume you got through and your interview was successful. 3-5 years later, you become citizen and doing well for yourself. you have money and already married your naija wife after Divorce from your Arrangee and things are going fine. Then out of the blue, your arrangee wife showed up are requested more money or else she is going to immigration. The thing is if she can prove you paid her (which most likely she will be able to prove), your citizenship can be revoked based on fraud regardless of the amount of years you have spent in the US. you got deported and lost everything.

So, now tell me, how is arrangee a good thing?

I tell all my friends, there are tons of ladies that will help you in the US without paying 1naira to anyone. Yoou just have to be straight forward, enter the relationship in good faith. Even if she is mean to you, be focus know that it is for a short period, be kind and good to her (and document abuse for her if she is abusive. Don't be stupid about that). Even if you finally decided to part ways in the future, it will be mutual agreement and you both will appreciate each other for the wonderful times spent together and no one can claim you "used them for papers".

@blowjobs. Nice job u are doin. Plz i am a young lawyer planning to move to the u.s early next year but from the look of things i heard nursing is highly lucrative and i am thinkin of switching fields. I dont have a science background and i didnt write any science subject in my waec. Hw possible is it for me to switch and what are the steps to be taken. Tnx and safe delivery to mrs k

Nursing is easy and not easy. Depends on your mind set.

You'll be required to take some Science courses and yes, you can easily switch field ( especially if you have the money). A lot of people have done it in the past.

The only reason why people think nursing is "lucrative" is because you can't be out of employment. You can easily get a job being a nurse. In fact, Jobs will "fall on your laps".

There's nothing lucrative about working really really long hours to make 4000-6000 per month. There are several IT people that make that and more without working long hours. Even some waiters at restaurants make that amount (or more depending on season and Tips from customers)

@ BlowJobs, biko is it possible for a greencard holder to file for his/spouse outside the US or only us citizen are allowed to file?

Yes, green card can file (depending on how they get their green card)

However, the process is longer based on Country of the beneficiary.

For Citizens filing for their Spouse/Parents/kids, it is faster. Visa categories for Immediate family of USC are unlimited.

@blowjobs So I read about the new cannabis law in new York and I remembered your wife's marijuana plant.. Hope it blossomed.

she harvested it like 2 months ago. it blossomed. one of the four 60 dollars seeds made like 120$ worth of weed. She lost one seed and now have two seeds left.

She bought this water bong like that and smoked it all in the space of like a week.

She knows she can't smoke now though, i'll be mad. i have reprimanded her about it and now she's "grounded". Her weed privileges and passes have been revoked by me grin. ( actually, we found out we are expecting from her being sleepy kind of and i confronted her about breaking my house rules, She denied that she is just really tired and been sleepy a lot)

It’s not possible. You did not get your green card in 2 weeks from the time that an application for immigrant visa was submitted.

Read the OP’s ask carefully and read for comprehension.

Thanks.

oh, immigrant visa.. grin grin grin. it takes average of 8months for consular processing alone and wait of like 2 months to receive the card in the US

so, 2 months is IMPOSSIBLE!!!!.

Make i go sleep some more, my tired eyes no dey read well right now grin grin

It is categorically impossible to get a GC in 2 months.

Sir, it is possible.

Mine took 2months and like 2 weeks (card got to us at 2months, 3 weeks and 4 days).

I have seen 2 months and 3 days.

It all depends on how "complicated" each case is,Travel history to and from the US, the petitioner and the field office case was sent

Did you take any immunization shots recently? Before I travelled and did my medicals had to take some shots back home, I got here and had a job interview which I needed to do some medical screening since my mum is a nurse she advised me to let them know I just migrated in case they wanna test for TB. Really don't know how it works but I guess that might have been the problem.

I did. I took all the shots. i am still sad about it

A lot of us Nigerians will test positive for TB and we don't even know..

This is something we all need to be aware of especially people starting a new job that requires TB test

Your recruiter is a bum or he may have been influenced by the way trump demonises immigrants. Yes you could have gone to MEPS directly, though they might raise the issue as per new immigrant and you would just have shown them a copy of your uscis form I-6963(report of medical examination) which you submitted the original during your adjustment of status application. That document shows you have received immunization for TB.You can still join the national guard or army reserve with a different recruiter. They have the same benefits as the army and the former does not go to war while the latter rarely rarely do or if you are itching for active duty action ,you can join the navy or airforce as you will not run into the risk of direct combat with these two but avoid marines at all costs. Those guys are specifically trained to kill and overrun enemy lines during battles. Most of them are majorly fresh from high school and do not know much about the importance of human life when they are in battle Lol

I sent you a PM

Sorry for the late reply ,you know how busy everybody dey for this country. The first step is to decide what field you want the military to train you on i.e how to build houses, repair heavy duty vehicles or machineries etc there are hundreds of jobs they can train you on that can fetch you above 100k after your service (just search them on google and pick the one you like)The free college grant for your school and citizenship are sure bankers before you complete your service. The second step is to write and get good scores on asvab so that you get into your dream field you want the military to train you on.Read a book they call asvab for dummies. It will help you a lot. That exam resemble JAMB but not difficult like it so you will easily smash it.If you get low sores like 30 something the army will still take you but will assign you to a field you may or may not like .Don't allow your recruiter to rush you into taking the exam so that you can prepare well and get good scores and good field. After ASVAB ,your recruiter will drive you to MEPS office in the state capital where there screen you physically and medically for drugs, tattoo, vision and hearing test etc and if you pass they will give you a date for shipping to basic training. Army is very prestigious here as you get respected everywhere you go.If you apply for your parents to come here the visa na sharp sharp cos you're defending the country ,discount in shopping stores&car dealers, best medical care in the world for you and family, loan that can reach 100s of thousand for house, federal credit union loans etc too numerous to mention. You took the right decision to serve this free country which is the greatest democracy in the world. If you have any question, just feel free to pm me

bro, ran into some probs. Recruiter F**ked me up (i really think so). I'm out. I am done trying to join.

My mama prayer about me not going to war was answered grin grin

Bros, i tried and tried.
So, i tested + to TB from a routine check. i was shocked. I did xray and it showed i dont have TB. Dr said i have no worries. Told recruiter i tested + to TB but don't have it (my mistake should i waited till MEPS check up) na there my wahalah start.

PS: i found out a lot of US being from Nigeria most likely will test positive to TB (letent) but do not actually have TB.

He's presently a green card holder and will be getting his citizenship by October this year.
Pls advise on the best approach to go about this.

you might need to wait till he gets his citizenship. PR holders can not file adjustment of status for Alien relatives from inside the US (it take a longer as a PR petitioning for Spouse)

if you decide to use your Tourist visa and stay behind, you'd have to wait anyways but the question might come up during your adjustment interview once your husband becomes citizen while you decide to stay. you need to figure a good answer to that.

you can either wait till your Fiancee become a US citizen, go through the process of a fiancee petition or Overseas USC marriage or come to the US and prepare to start your life while waiting for your Hubby citizenship.

If you choose the latter (which i will do if i were in your shoes), please don't rush to get married when you get here. Observe the 90 days rule. Start the process 4months after to be on the safer side.

All the best

either ways, you'll need to have enough patience to wait for the process.

So, that degree isn't useless at all (even if na Political Science you study) as long as you can go for post grad studies or evaluate your degree to US equivalent.

For those looking to schooling in the Caribbean, you should be friends with this guy

Once he settles in, he most likely can help you out (getting admitted mostly)

Also, for nurses looking the caribbean way, he Might be able to help out.

Don't bombard him with emails oo, give him time to get his footings. it can be exhausting sometimes.

Hello,
Please I need advise on what step to take. My fiance is in US and we plan to get married later in the year.
I've been to the US twice last year on a visit visa which I just renewed again this year.
My question now is which route is the fastest to getting an immigrant visa to enable me join him legally.
We were thinking of going to court dis summer when I visit again but learnt there's a new 90-days rule stating you can't come in with your visiting visa and get married to a US citizen before 90days during your visit.
I'm not sure about how long it'll take to process the fiancee or spouse visa.
Pls I need your advise on my best option to go about this.

First question. is your Fiance a US citizen?

Bros there are things the recruiter would not tell you now because he wants to get you into the army. The minimum contract you sign is 4 years active duty and then 2 years inactive reserves meaning they can call you back within those 2 years if war breaks out Lol.On the issue of citizenship ;trump last October changed the rule that allowed immigrant enlistees to apply for citizenship after 1 day of active duty service. Now to be considered you have to wait at least a year and 6 months minimum. 1 year in Delayed entry program(dep)for security and background investigation before shipping to basic training and then another 6 months of active duty service. The military is good sha as they train you either in school or a skill that will fetch you money free of charge

Bro, trust me. I have done the "Mental gymnastics" and weigh my options carefully before deciding. My main aim is getting my parents here as fast as possible before old age health issues starts to set in. and i believe that will in a way help others that wants to come behind though theirs might take years. It is all sacrifices

Another thing i took note of is the training aspects and the benefits i might get doing that.

I'm giving myself 4years max. Regardless of what the recruiter says or didn't say, i am joining. No be Soldier dey go war. a lot of them are just administrative duties.

If there is anything you think i should know, please enlighten me

so i have been doing interview just for the fun of it.

Yesterday, i got called for an interview.

This white 27yrs old lady interviewed me and i could sense the Nervousness in her voice (she is the hiring manager lol)

Something about me makes her nervous like she literally melting like a jello (maybe i am her first black candidate, maybe she has a fetish for black guys. i really don't know. i don't plan to find out)

I used it to my advantage and turned around the interview.

I asked her how long she's been working there and what level she started at. I asked her if she likes her job, i asked her how old she is and i almost asked her to hypothetically tell me why i should hire her. it was my funniest interview experience ever. She said she's gonna talk to her GM and give me a call.

I am so unserious with life right now. Now that i can get a job, i am fooling around.

Don't mind me people. I am still basking in the excitement of showing my green card every time lol

Mrk K and I made a mistake.

We should have approached the bank for loan and buy a house. (she has really good credit like i said). We found out we could have been approved for 150,000$ or more and we could have just bought a house.

Our rent right now is around 1550$ (not including gas, internet and electricity). we are basically paying someone else mortgage. Its all a learning process. Painful but no biggie
