heywhytech1: Your agent is not being truthful with you. Nothing is wrong with logging in into the portal. What kind of POF deal did your agent arrange for you? It's either a medical request or a procedural fairness letter (a letter that almost always precedes a ban due to misrepresentation.) Your agent is intentionally telling you he can't login for sinister reasons. If you can find a way to extract your login details out of him, the better for you. 2 Likes |

silvyblaze: Pick a cheap college. Choose a course that relates to data analysis. Since you'd be selling off a property, get a document that shows that. Your daughter might not be able to go with you now though. |

Nairalandboss: I understand you now. Taking time to draft a cold mail is more important than sending something close to a generic mail. I've gotten a 40%+ response rate from my mails so far. Not positive ones but admixture of 'I am not taking any trainees' to 'You don't have the skills I need for this project' to a conversation that broke down on funding rate (the PI wanted a PhD student while I'm going for Msc). I'm sure you didn't get responses from everyone you mailed too. I'm assuming you sent loads of mail before you got your breakthrough moments. Persistence, learning, work, timing, LUCK, and other things come to play. |

Nairalandboss: LOL. Apologies if it felt like an attack from my end but honestly, it's not. In fact, I started following the conversation because I was looking for salient points that can help me improve my mail. Everybody can present their points without making it look/sound like they're trying to bin the other person's idea or opinion. |

Nairalandboss: I think it's implied from your original message backing Gidigraft that something could be wrong with the mails the person has been sending. I'm not here to argue what's right or wrong as I'm currently sending mails out myself. In the end, enlightenment is key. If the original poster can ask people to review his/her mail, that'd be nice. I've had people review most of the mails I've sent and I've gotten green light from PhD students and postdoc to hit the send button but I don't get responses from the PI I send those mails to. Like I said, I feel it's implied meaning based on your response supporting Gidigraft and Quinex tried to give a contrasting yet plausible explanation as to what could be happening. |

Nairalandboss: It's possible to have a strong grasp of a PI's work, have relevant experience and skills, mention their interesting papers, attach a research proposal and still not get a response from the person. That's why people have to send lots and lots of mails before making headway. Silence to a cold mail is not dependent on the quality of the mail alone. There's the PI factor too. Some don't even get to see your mail until you send a reminder as the mail might be buried in the tons of mail in their mailbox. Many factors contribute to the silence or rejections and it's not entirely on the quality of the mail like you've opined. |

Nairalandboss: I don't think she's entirely wrong. Some people I've written to didn't bother to get back to me while some were nice enough to acknowledge my interests and academic achievements but mentioned that there's no space in their research group. A PI mentioned on Twitter that she doesn't pay attention to graduate inquiries from students when her lab is full as she cannot reply everyone that asks for an Msc/PhD position in her lab. It's very hard to get even a 50% response rate from all the mails you send these days. Grad school is becoming more competitive (as it's becoming the cheapest alternative for relocation purposes.) Irrespective of how good your mail is, if a PI is not looking for a new student, the best he can do is get back to you that he's not looking for new trainees. Majority of them will just ignore and move on. |

BullBearMarket: For real. Most of the coins in top 10 now will not be there in the next couple of years when their hype is over. A newer coin will come offering "supreme tokenomics" to get the attention and trust of people. Same cycle. Buy, gain, take profit and move on. 2 Likes |

Dead coins. FTM. LUNA. ICP. In the end, Crypto is built on hype and nothing more. Forget all that use case and technology behind it talk. It's all hype. If your coin is the talk, it pumps. When the talk is over, that's all. 10 Likes |

The interesting thing is that LUNA might never make it past $30 again. After this dump and there's a pump in the crypto space, it'll be hard for people to "trust" LUNA enough to invest money in it. 1 Like |
