That was the original route of the metro, but it was scrapped because they would have to demolish a lot of buildings (just imagine the extent of the demolition and compensation). However, the right of way of the national rail line has enough space with less need to demolish buildings.

Right I see, though if taking over the existing BRT path that is along most but all of Ikorodu Road that will eliminate the need for building demolishing as the path of way already exists, can't speak for the Lekki-Epe expressway.

Sometimes making way for progress comes with casualties but if a success would be (mostly) worth it.

It is very expensive to build rail systems. They have to start from somewhere and then extend it over time. All these extensions will certainly eventually be done, but it is small by small. Everything cannot be done at once.

Anyway, I wrote that those were the original plans during the Tinubu era. I also wrote that the plans have been modified.

The Sanwo-Olu Administration has modified the Brown Line into an Orange Line.



But it will take time and money before it is built.

I've been thinking this from the jump about Ikorodu but specifically Ikorodu Road. They can construct a tram line that starts from Jibowu along the middle of Ikorodu Road that runs to Ikorodu itself using and taking over the existing BRT path of way.

Plus if they're clever and have the know how they can make it loop around the Lekki - Epe Expressway back to Jibowu eliminating the need for a dedicated Green Line, it could be our answer to the 'Circle Line (LU)' or 'The Loop (CTA)'.

This is not right and I'm not being biased cause they're from my state but c'mon we should show some decorum on here sometimes.

If you're referring to the Lagos Red line stock it's actually worse than the 2003 date you stated, the HST125's being used on the red line were built originally between 1975–1982, though to be fair they're still being used in the UK where they are from.
