It is a half-hour weekly comedy TV show that brings together a group of comedians, who give their view on trending social media issues of the week.Currently signed to Roc Nation and Red Velvet Music Group, Cuppy has been deejaying since 16. She started off in London and has since grown in the craft, earning herself a slot to play as the resident DJ for the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards in Durban, South Africa.

DJ Cuppy was born in Lagos, Nigeria and lived around Illupeju and Ikeja before leaving the country to study business economics at King’s College London. She is also presently studying for a master’s degree in music business at the New York University.

With less than a week to Kogi governorship election, members of Senator Smart Adeyemi’s political organisation and notable Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains in Okunland have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mr Fehinti Dada the Director-General of the organisation and former chairman of Ijumu Local Government Council, led the group of the defectors in an elaborate ceremony held on Monday in Iyara, headquarters of the council.
Receiving the defectors, the APC standard bearer, Prince Abubakar Audu, commended their courage, saying that the wind of change pervading the country had finally come to Kogi.
He urged them to bring their wealth of experience to bear on the party to enable it shine at Saturday’s poll.
Dada said that he and the other members of the organisation defected from the PDP because the party had failed the people.
He said that a survey conducted by the organisation showed that the PDP led administration in the state had collapsed activities at the third tier of government and placed council staff on percentage pay.
“I was in Ikole local government area of Ekiti last week.
“To my surprise, the council did not owe workers and recorded lot of achievements that had direct impact on the people, despite receiving less allocation in comparison to most councils in Kogi,” he said.
Dada assured Audu that the defectors would work with the existing party structure on ground and deliver the council to the APC.
In a related development, Mr Duro Meseko former member of the House of Representatives, who represented Kabba/Bunu Federal Constituency in 2003 to 2007, also dumped the PDP for APC with thousand of his supporters at Iluke in Kaba/Bunu constituency.
Meseko said that he and his supporters could not afford to be left out in the wind of change blowing across the country and implored the people of Bunu to come out en-masse and vote for APC on Saturday.
Sen. Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West Senatorial District at the Senate advised the defectors to join hands with older members of the party to defeat the PDP administration in the state.
He said that Audu remained the best of all the candidates jostling to rule the state because of his wealth of experience in statecraft and verifiable achievements that had continued to affect lives positively across the state.

The Minister of Science and Technology, Mr Ogbonnaya Onu, on Monday in Abuja said the ministry would work to create employment to empower the teeming Nigerian youths.

Onu made the assertion when he received a team from United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) on a courtesy visit.

The minister said creating of employment was imperative to address the challenges facing Nigerians.“The Science and Technology sector will assume its rightful place in national development so as to make Nigeria self-sufficient in meeting the challenges of daily living.

“The sector will be fully involved in creating employment and empowering the country’s teeming youths to make meaningful contributions to national development,’’ he said.

He also said that the ministry would come up with programmes that would propel the nation to prominence in science and technology.

According to him, the ministry is ready to work with stakeholders that aim to support the plans of the sector.The minister commended UNIDO for its activities to improve the standard of living in African, particularly in Nigeria.

Onu assured the team from UNEDO that the ministry would work closely with the organisation to fast-track development of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) in Nigeria.

Earlier, the UNIDO Country Representative, Mr David Tommy, urged the Federal Government to fix the industrial skills gap in the country for sustainable development.

Tommy, who led the team from UNIDO, implored government to harness the potential of youths by investing in their training as they represented 44 per cent of Nigeria’s population.

“Most youths in Nigeria have the required qualifications, but lack the relevant skills for sustainable development in Nigeria.

“It is essential to train these youths to acquire the relevant industrial and technical skills.’’

According to him, an improved manufacturing sector will facilitate the required change vital for growth and value addition.

“Sustainable development of the country can be guaranteed only by leveraging on value addition to agricultural endowments,’’ Tommy said. (NAN)
