My take on this matter, it baffles me with dismay when I listen to Nigerians speak bad of their graduate simply because they cant write british english.
Why must we copy others, if an engineering student can solve technical and mathematical problem wit poor english.. To hell wit language. Is english the only langauage in this world ? The germans cant speak or write english but they are world powers, china,france,spain speaks different languages and look at their innovations... Even american who got independence frm briton, murdered english and they owe nobody apology.
So when you judge graduate based on language and not his knowledge/ impact in his field, I wonder what we will achieve in years to come, abi naa english language oyinbo take make technology

Yes. u are right, PG has a website... But there are internal/urgent vacancies which are advertised by PG they do not paste on their website... I have attended three Pg interview process and I never submitted my cv through their site but instead via a gmail. I even had a one on one chat with their HR and noticed their mode of recruitment is highly standardized, they aim for talent and not publicity as our nigeria firm does (dangote)... Yea, teacher can earn 180k no doubt, but hw many of them earns that, even before such a teacher can earn that amount he would be holding good position in the sch. In the banking sector, average take home is 80k for starter, and his earning increases with promotion or if he switches bank, i know bankers who earn 350k monthly just working in a bank in 3yrs and that does nt include productivity of 250k every quater they earn. This bankers or oil workers sponsor their travel abroad every summer (even i knw OND banker who foot their holiday expenses abroad) My question is, can such fit be attained in teaching profession in shortest possible time. I am nt saying its nt good for OP, to settle with teaching, bt he shld understand the hitches he will have to encoumter to meet up with his counterpart in oil and bank sector.

This is a very GREEN LIE!!!!!! I am a teacher and there's nothing my banker and telecoms counterparts are wearing and doing that I can't. I go for trainings within the country and outside. I'll be going for another one in America early next year so tell me what bankers and telecomms pple are doing o that I can't do.

You are one in a million teacher in nigeria who can boast of travelling abroad and living to the standard of banker and oil worker. Even, I still hv a doubt ur travelling abroad is at ur expense except if sponsored by ur school(that happens when u are taking students for excursion).
If out of 50 ppl that teach only 5 teachers can leave up to the standard of their collegues in bank or oil firm, do u count that as sucess in teaching profession. This is what is killing our economy, right from our childhood, our teachers has always made us believe with university education, as soon as u graduate, job will be ready for u, but look at... Craftmen and technician are scarse in labour market all because of the wrong notion... OP, dont be misled, before u can hammer like ur colleague in bank and telecom sector, u would hv become a prof in secondary sch... This is from experience

Yes.. You can settle down with teaching.. But ur standard of living will be on average. One good thing about teaching is that u hv ample time for urself. They hv loads of holidays and with private lesson u are okay.. u can"t leave a bouyant life like ur counterpart in bank and telecomm secto.

I concur with OP... The prof. that supervised my project display some lunatic behaviour. It got to a stage he started contradicting his statement while making correction on my project..even simple L.C.M he flopped. You just hear him using big statistical wordings to justify his claim at the expense of my project.. In my mind I was like "oga free me make i dey go, I no wan bcom prof like u..habaa"
