There's a new redesigned SAT now (from March 2016), so you may have to do a little more research to prepare.

I'd suggest you use the Khan Academy test prep:
https://www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/new-sat

You should also read up the posts on Prepscholar (I found them quite useful):
http://www.prepscholar.com/sat/s/resources

Buy a SAT prep/study book (Kaplan or Barron's will do)

Finally, here's a link to the four official practice tests I used to prepare (for the old SAT):
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pk1rlgyix0g6f1j/AAA1gcLa5C5PpxzdfmWArQAAa?dl=0

All of the best!

thank you sir.....plenty.i will play around those links asap.can i send you a PM for further assistance?

I've taken the SAT and I've looked at some questions from the TOEFL so I'll answer based on the quality/difficulty of both tests.

Your understanding of written English must be quite good if you want to do really well on either test.

If you're reasonably proficient at math and are willing to put in a good amount of study time, then you should do the SAT (it's the more difficult test and is more highly regarded).

If you don't plan to give too much time to studying and would rather avoid math, then take the TOEFL.

The final decision is yours to make. How far are you willing to go...what do you want to achieve?

which is the most expensive of the two to reg for? SAT or TOEFL.

No you have said nothing wrong.
You just seemed a little eager.

Try to research on line (with Google)
Think what subject you want to study and how that will progress to a job. (What do you want to do?)
Then find schools offering that subject and work out the costs and if it looks possible.
Then look at schools and contact them to get details of any scholarship offers.
It's a lot of work with no short cut , sorry.

And stay out of the hands of agents, you don't need to pay anyone!

ooh thank you very much....i am grateful.yes i am doing that sir.not eager, just want some clue on how to start this.like schools that are still very cheap aside those two i earlier mentioned( minnesota state uni and arkansas state)....and i want to have a better understanding of "statement of purpose"...thank you!

Rather than think of deferment as the first thing it would be better to organize your things first.
FIRST How much money have you got? You must think of several years of school and include accommodation and feeding.
You can not get a school place then look for Manna from heaven to pay.
Scholarships are available, but no many and are usually given to the very best performing students.
(Do you have top grades?) work on these things first, then think of school and visa.

yes sir..thank you alot for ur prompt response..maybe am still abit naive about this..thats why my post went that way..
as at the moment i have around 2M and this figure rises progressively by every assing month....i hope to have about 3M by that march next yr.i have few fam and frnds in the state, though no plans to depend on them.and for my grades i have more of Bs in my olevel.is that the deciding factor for scholarship or the standardized test score.thanks alot.correct me if i said anything wrong.pls advice me.

hello house..i have been a silent follower in a while now.sincerely i dont know much but really want to be enlightened.i want to apply to a school in the states, but dont want to use an agent at any point as this will help me learn and be sure of avoiding some mistakes.
i will be starting NYSC in march this year and this will run into next yr march.i want to apply to a school and hope to resume at the school after NYSC,i dont intend to take this forum back,i have tried to gather as much as i can from previous parts.i only want advice...as ma dad wud say man wen ask question no dey miss road.though i will be applying as a fresh student(undergrad prog).since i will be ready for resumption by march next yr..
1. Is it cool for me to apply to a school now?
2. can i write TOEFL now? when is the next exam?
3. since i hope to fund my studies, is there a posibility of getting scholarship from schools? how can i go about getting one?
4. i wish to get list of very cheap fee schools in the states, i have only checked up minnesota state uni and arkansas state uni, these are those with the cheapest fee i know for now
5. is there a standard format for writting the statement of purpose(applicant personal statement),i was told this is also a requirement for application.
6. can one decide to write school for defernment after issuance of visa? will the visa still be valid?

i am sorry to disturb you.thanks alot!
