TheSuperNerd: I b member of the church since 2008 and when Olukoya bought Bolowotan Fc spot in the NNL around 2010 iv been following their progress. I followed the team throughout their Church world cup winning campaign albeit online and when they got promoted to the npfl it was a thing of joy. so the romance have started way back, in fact Olukoya made it easy by announcing their achievements in church programmes |

4 all who say there x too much of last minute penalties and it's a bad thing, please I'm asking should refs now not give genuine penalties cuz it's 90+? last season I saw ifeanyi ubah come from behind to beat 3sc at home with 2 late penalties and both of the were legitimate ones in fact they should v scored if not 4 the gk brilliancy. the reason we complain about it x because we don't see the games on TV if we do many of our wrong perceptions will change. in fact most away teams use it as an excuse to becloud their poor performances and ring up controversies that how some away fans (rangers) said the ref had a phone on the field of play and he received a call to favour the home team because Gombe scored 3 times to come from a 2-0 deficit to leaf 3-2 until rangers equalised with a last gasp free kick. when the highlights were uploaded all the 3 goals the home team scored was legitimate and I don't there was a single pk in it. it was later discovered that rangers fans only made up the rumours and this was confirmed by journalists who saw the game live. https://mobile.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1494210787297391&id=204176799634136&refid=7&_ft_=qid.6411511267388577384%3Amf_story_key.5261485862841790201%3Atop_level_post_id.1494210787297391 that link is the highlights of ifeanyi ubahs 2 goals in that game. the Gombe v rangers game ended 3-3 the Link is on npfl page on youtube 1 Like 1 Share |

OMANBALA1: guy let me tell u, epl is now 150 per match but it's not a big sum anyway but u r still having a bad image of the league which has changed over the years. I can tell u how people who earn 10,000 pay 200naira for popular side at the ifeanyi ubah stadium. Godwin enakhana is the chairman of MFM fc and he is a member of MFM church I remember he said on radio that a rescheduled mfm game that was postponed due to rain on Sunday evening was played on Monday morning by 8am and even with the wet Weather he was surprised at the number of fans they pulled..... ON A MONDAY MORNING.... IN LAGOS....this alone trumps watever u r trying to say. do u know what many of them payed to get in. 100 Naira popular side 300 vip and 500vvip at the age get stadium it was a Monday morning and my brother they sold tickets. Icon4s: ur last paragraph is what I get furious at when people say it to me. I'm like u pay to help them improve their league but u can't pay to improve urs. if u don't build ur house no one will help u do. it's just like having a piece of land with a foundation on it but rather than plan and rebuild or finish ur house u prefer paying rent at the detriment of ur own house and even make ur house a laffing stock. When Arsenal finally broke the trophy less run by winning the FA Cup it didn't feel any different to the time when de won nothing, since then I stopped wasting my money and time to go watch them. y would I continue wasting money on a team whose success and failure adds nothing to me or even my geographical area. meanwhile MFM qualifying for the champions league alone made me happy, I have dx sense of belonging cuz I'm a member and believe me whenever we v a special programme like power must change hands the G.O doesn't hesitate to announce the team's latest success, encourage fans to visit the stadium and even buy their jersey. I can support any Nigeria clubside and it will always be Nigeria over foreign. I v watched more live local league games than I v watched the El classico, I v not even watched it twice while some will kee demselv ontop 3 Likes 2 Shares |

somehow: u seem to be the only person aside bascovanveli and icons97 who hv given the truest opinion about the league. I vnt encountered violence in the stadiums I v visited altho I must say that it happened a few times last season. that's one area that needs to be sorted. 2. some stadiums are awful (eg rwang pam stadium, Jos and Elkanemi stadium) but 80% are decent with the artificial grass, more of natural is needed. the issue of salary is caused by corruption and political games, private clubs don't owe, the reason ifeanyi uba owed his players was because he had issues with the efcc last year I think. Mfm, Remo stars Akwa united, Kano pillars do not owe and I know Rivers united v the money it's just politics 2 Likes |

terzurum5: those videos are that of the NNL and basically NNL doesn't drive much supporters like the NPFL, I v gone to stadiums to watch both and I can tell u u can get at least 3k in any I NPFL match centre but u would struggle to get 500 at any NNL match centre. Generally I still think publicity for our league is low, both on broadcast media and social media and the club's themselves are to blame I know some twitter handles of NNL and even NPFL sides that wouldn't update their page for their next match and they would only do so days after the last match. I think the point above is y NPFL gets more crowd than NNL cuz the publicity the former gets is more higher than the latter. the first thing to do is PUBLICISE the league, I believe this will bring fans. I never knew I had a course mate who had interests in the local leagues until I told him ikorodu United were playing Go round at the gateway stadium that Sunday. I was surprised he asked me not to forget to remind him whenever I'm leaving for the stadium and we went together. Now imagine the number of fans who would v gone to see the games if only they knew. but then I v a cousin who despite my preachings never followed me to the Osogbo township stadium to see osun united play he x aware of the league but he has a bad perception of it. now how do u convert this kind of a person? u need to repackage and increase the volume of publicity. there is this theory that no matter how poor a media content is "constant and consistent exposure of it to media users will make them get used and make it interesting to them". my cousin always use the South African league as an example he has said it v4 that he would rather pay 5k to subscribe to dstv and watch the SA psl than spend 100naira to get a cab to watch NNL n NPFL matches at the stadium. long story short, let's repackage the league we can start with the NTA deal advertise upcoming games with colourful graphics and the best goals from previous match centres like the epl does. I'm 90% sure if dx x done for at least 2 seasons there would be massive increase in followership of the league let the publicity be consistent even when there is no match until weekend. on TV, Radio (the radio stations even do more of this than TV and newspapers ) and newspapers Security should be increased then the quality of play should improve. if u doubt that there x still interest in the league watch MFM home games on YouTube from 2016, watch Rangers etc even Remo stars had more fans that I tot. I saw vip stand with 500naira tickets filled, some brought their families. during my visit to a remo stars home game, I heard a guy say at the popular side stand that "this is our league, this I can spend my money to watch not a league where my existence is not known to them". u v to see dx guys discuss about Abiola babe's, gateway united etc Many are willing to come but they need a little PUSH and conviction 4 Likes 3 Shares |

Joebie: one new player to watch out for, coming from the NNL is Micheal Ohanu, he scored a couple of hattricks last season and he is NNL player of the season (officially, he has an award to that effect) and he was the highest goal scorer with 22 goals. he plays for kwara united Another player from the NNL now in the NPFL is TOSIN OMOYELE he is now with Plateau united and he came in from Osun united, he hit double digits for the omoluabi giants I think he had 15 goals all season . he is actually easy to identify as he is almost an albino, but not fully his hair is not black and not fully blonde. [b]Profiling The Newly Promoted Teams For The 2018 NPFL Season[b] December 30, 2017 admin 0 Comments Go Round FC, kwara United, NNL, NPFL, Yobe Deserts Stars [i]written by Danycrusoe for Cheapgoals.Com[i] At the end of the 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, 4 out of the 20 teams dropped into the Nigeria National League (NNL) while four new teams took their places in the top division. Remo Stars, Gombe United, ABS FC, and Kastina United were the new boys for the last season and out of the four only Kastina United escaped the drop back into the lower division with Remo stars (20), Gombe (19) and ABS (18) making up the last 3 while Shooting Stars FC completed the relegation zone. The NPFL spots of the afore-mentioned teams were taken by the newly promoted teams which include former NPFL champions Heartland Fc of Owerri, Yobe Desert Stars of Damaturu, Go Round Fc of Omoku and Kwara United of Ilorin. ■ Heartland FC Location: Owerri, Imo state Last NPFL appearance: 2016 Home Ground: Dan Anyiam Stadium Best NPFL Finish: 5-time winners (last triumph in 1993) The Naze Millionaires were relegated in 2016 in controversial circumstances after the team abandoned its final league game against Plateau United. A goal which gave Heartland a 2-1 lead was cancelled by referee Folorunsho Ajayi making the team abandon the game with 15 minutes left and was subsequently punished by the League Management Company (LMC) who awarded 3 points and 3 goals to Plateau United ensuring that the 2009 CAF Champions League finalists were relegated for the first time in their history. However, the team only spent one season in the Nigeria National League (NNL ) finishing first on the Southern Division log after an impressive 61 points from 32 games which include 18 wins, 7 draws and 7 loss. A finish in the continental places or the top 6 of the table at the end of the season wouldn’t flatter Heartland considering their pedigree in the league, and the Chibuzo Etuemena led team are highly unlikely to be involved in the relegation dogfight this season. ■ Kwara United Location: Ilorin, Kwara State. Last NPFL Appearance: 2015 Home Ground: Kwara State Stadium Best NPFL finish: 3rd in Super Four (2006) While Kwara state fans may rue the drop of ABS, they might take solace in the promotion of Kwara United whose promotion ensured that top flight football continues in Kwara for at least another year. The harmony Boys were relegated in 2015 and spent the next few seasons in the relegation wilderness before former Nigeria u20 coach John Obuh led the team to the promise land. Kwara inspired by the high scoring striker and NNL best player for 2017 season, Micheal Ohanu who scored 22 goals, topped the Northern division of the NNL where they got promoted with four games to spare. Going into the new NPFL season a lot will be expected from the young striker Ohanu to keep the team afloat with his goals, the former Ifeanyi Uba player scored 3 hattricks last season and a replica of such performances should be enough to see his team avoid immediate relegation. With a manager who has NPFL experience after managing Sharks FC and Enugu Rangers in the past, Kwara United may fancy a finish in the top half of the table. READ ALSO: Top Ten foreigners in the Npfl ■ Yobe Desert Stars Location: Damaturu, Yobe. Home Ground: Damaturu Township Stadium. Last NPFL Appearance: 2001 Best NPFL finish: 20th After 15 years of absence from topflight football, Yobe Desert Stars return to NPFL. The Desert Stars had a terrible campaign to forget in their first and only top flight experience till date. The Damaturu based side won only 11 games in the 2001 campaign to immediately return to the lower leagues where they have since shuffled. Consecutive promotions from the Nigeria Nationwide League to the NNL and from the NNL to the NPFL could give their fans hope of a decent Campaign, at least a better one than that of 2001. Much wouldn’t be expected of the less fancied side as they are expected to the boo boys of the League alongside fellow promoted side, Go Round FC. A finish above the relegation zone will be considered a good season. ■ Go Round Fc Location: Omoku, Rivers State Home Ground: Krisdera Hotel Stadium Last NPFL Appearance: NIL Best NPFL Finish: NIL The only debutant in the league for the 2018 season, Go Round FC are based in Omoku, Rivers state. Go round secured promotion on the last day of the Southern Divison of the NNL campaign last season finishing second behind Heartland Fc. Relatively unknown, the stats don’t give good omen for the newcomers, of the 3 debutants promoted to the NPFL in the last 2 seasons 2 of them returned to relegation immediately. Remo Stars, Ikorodu United and MFM were promoted for the first time in their histories in the last 2 seasons and only MFM managed to escape relegation in its first ever season in the NPFL. In fact only one of the promoted teams last season escaped relegation. However, Coach Ngozi Elechi will hope to lead the team to a decent first top-flight season by avoiding relegation Source: http://cheapgoals.com/profiling-the-newly-promoted-teams-for-the-2018-npfl-season/ CC: Bascovanveli, Joebie, Thesupernerd et all.
