Is there any sense in:

- Ho, how i wish i had a tracker installed

- And this insurance company said i had full coverage, and have installed tracker. My car is stolen and my plan does not cover for theft.

- How i wish i could know how much miles my vehicle covers.

This are avoidable regrets.

You dont have to break a bank to get one done!

You can always get it done at reasonable cost.

DAutoDiagnosis:
Why you should have your vehicle tracked

I will just go straight to the point.

1. It is cheap/affordable

2. It is the most sensible thing to do

3. It puts right ahead and armed with information.

4. Informations like, where your vehicle is per time, history playbacks, control your vehicle startup right from your Mobile phone

5. No matter how unimportant you think your vehicle is, it is still valuable. Don't lose it cos of carefree ness.

6. There are car thieves on the prowl, nobody prays for theft, what if it happens? Installing a tracker is proactive.

7. Do you know for as low as 20k, you can have one installed. Xo what's your excuse.

8. Do you know there are battery powered trackers, that you don't need to hot wire to the vehicle, all you just need to do is place it in the vehicle. Boom, the vehicle will be tracked.

9. So you see, the excuse of not wanting your cars wire not tampered is no longer an excuse. You can get a battery self powered tracker.

So you see. Make it happen

There is never enough reason to not have a tracker installed

Like i always say, price is not a deterrent. Why not just link up

Car Talk / Re: Is My Toyota Camry XLE V6 2011 Model Consuming More Fuel? by DAutoDiagnosis: 7:51am On Mar 13, 2021
Wheezy123:
Hi guys, I recently acquired a Nigerian used 2011 Toyota Camry XLE v6 2011 model (double exhaust).

I noticed that a 2000 naira worth of fuel can't take me far. If i buy a fuel of 2000 naira at N175/Ltr, I can't drive round the city and come back home without the fuel gauge turning "yellow".

I thought Camrys are fuel efficient.

Please is it okay? or what can I do about it?

Fuel is now expensive. For N175. N2000 will only get you a little above 11 litres.

I dont want to assume you let that finish, before buying again or you will be fixing your fuel pump soon and dealing with avoidable mixfires due to plugged up nozzles.

Your car should do 21 to 32 Mpg city/highway. i.e 9km/litre - 13.6km/litre.

Use your odometer to calculate this.

Then you can be sure your car is thirsty

Hybrid....

Na only fuel economy, low pollution, enjiyment of AC without fear of fuel draining na em hybrid good.

That you drive a hybrid Toyota Camry (muscle) doesn't mean the suspension parts will be cheaper or the shocks will be cheaper or tires etc will be cheaper.

You are correct!

The other reality is, shocks, tyre changes and some other suspension parts do not require frequent replacement.

The things that make you almost unaccountable for your spendings are the recharge cards, transports, food, which are recurrent expenditures.

In cars, the recurrent expenditures are, fuel, brake pads, oil changes, etc. You save on those, you save a lot

Fully electric...... Nah, till 9ja get 24 hours electricity

Hybrids. Yes!

Electric. Maybe.

And yes, the power situation in Nigeria is terrible, but hey. The Tesla supercharger takes less than One hour to charge to 90%.

You can read that line again. Less than 60 minutes. Electric cars are the reality and the vehicles for the moment.

Nothing stops a Nigerian from owning an hybrid, or an Electric vehicle

Do you have a grinding pepper working in the background?

The way you typed and ooze confidence of a wrong inference gan.

That hybrid has issues. And they dont sound that way on start-up.

You should have a check engine and VSC MIL lights on.

Scan the vehicle.

Go to live data, and select miss fire counter. You should find the culprit.

Like everything in a car, batteries go bad too.

Most hybrid batteries will last at least 10 years, or 100,000 miles, 160,000km the least.

And yes, replacement is expensive. And expensive when you are buying a whole new unit. They can be refurbished, repaired and does not cost an arm and a leg.

I will do a guide on buying the right hybrid car. I will copy you.

In the long run, owning an hybrid vehicle is the most reasonable thing. Ones you go hybrid, you never go back

Car Talk / Why You Should Buy An Hybrid Vehicle Instead ;) by DAutoDiagnosis: 10:09pm On Feb 09, 2021
Why you should buy an hybrid vehicle instead wink

Hybrid cars, like the name implies, is a combo. Just like everything hybrid
This time, it is the combination of the ignition combustion engine and battery.

And the principle of operation is practical. It is the midpoint between using an electric car and a fuel powered car.

The vehicle through regenerative braking charges, the battery. and just like in normal fuel powered cars, the alternator does not just charge your 12v battery, it charges the hybrid battery.

Now, why should you get an Hybrid Vehicle.

1. Because it is practical.

Gone are the days, when the thought of getting one is like being crazy, like for real, hey, of all cars, hybrid is what you want to get ? But hey, right now, the world is going electric, and it wouldn't mind leaving you behind with your primitive thought.

Infact, very soon, you wont be able to buy IC engine vehicles, because, nobody would be producing them, my very soon, i talking 20 years time, so it is not something in the distance future. What is not practical is why you are still stuck with a purely fuel powered car. Ignition combustion engine cars are no longer practical. Hybrids and electric powered cars are the new realities

2. You use less fuel

This does not really need more explanation. With an hybrid vehicle, where you will spend say 5,000 naira fuel to will only cost you less than 2,000 Naira. Hey hey, my problem is not fuel, if you need a car, and your first thought is fuel, then you shouldn't get a car. Yeah, that argument will only pass the test of 2 bottles of beer, and a can of black bullet. Cos it just doesn't make sense. You should be bothered about the fuel your car consumes, a large chunk of your maintenance cost is on fuel. So why should you spend so much on fuel when you have an alternative.

The Toyota Prius( the benchmark for most hybrid vehicles), for example has an MPG of 52 and The corrolla has 32MPG . This is combined for both city and highway driving. Your corolla is a fuel guzzler near the prius. Period!

3. Cheap maintenance cost:

I know this table, so many of you will come for my head. How in the world do you say it is cheaper to maintain an hybrid vehicle to a normal car. Oga, cut it, forget it, it is not possible.

Let me burst your bubble, you spend less, maintaining an hybrid vehicle to a fuel powered car. Yea Yea, less money spent on fuel, it actually a chunk of savings.

You are not changing any alternator belt, compressor belt, all those petty maintenance. Less parts are breaking down, cos the idea is to reduce the number of moving parts. Mechanical parts breakdown often, the more the moving parts, the more the breakdowns. With an hybrid vehicle, just change oil, ensure you coolant is filled, change the air filter for the cooling of the high voltage battery as often as possible and you are good to go.
Less visit for  brake pad  change, you can actually use one  brake pad for as long as 50,000 miles. Yes. you heard right. You are asking how much is brake pad. You are probably using fake clones, and not paying your mechanic the worth of his time.

Hybrid vehicles are cheaper to maintain. Period!

4. It is the vehicle for you, if you know so little about cars:

Oga, Oga, i beg , dont go there!
That car has so many electronics, you need to be a rocket scientist to own and maintain one.

Yes, let me burst your bubbles. Cos thats what i do, i burst bubbles, lies, archaic and impractical thinking.

The design of most hybrid vehicle is actually built for dummies. Everything is on the screen. Everything, that vehicle thinks for you. If you without brains, you can own one, how much more, as smart as you are.

5. This vehicles are for DIY's:

Everybody that owns a car is supposed to be a DIY, how much more in this our obodo Nigeria. If you are one, this cars are built for you. Hybrid vehicles when well taken care of will take and care of and serve you.

6. Hybrid vehicles are built to last
Hybrid cars are built to last, they will out live your purely fuel vehicles. In-fact, and why wont they. Less wear and tear and high reliability. If you want a vehicle that will live their life time, hybrid it is.

Conclusion, expect more enlightening post about hybrid vehicles and their maintenance. The world has moved on to practical and realistic vehicles. Electric and Hybrid vehicles are the deal. Sadly, that you are a Nigerian and Nigerian factor does not affect vehicle production, Cos nobody builds cars for us. You wont have any other option but to drive and own either electric or hybrid vehicles, because thats what the world will be using. Embrace them now!
Period.

Share your thoughts. What do you think about hybrid cars. Do you own one?
