N50 Million Loan: Andy Uba Reacts To The Viral News Of Court Impounding His Cars, Releases Video Evidence

… Says, Arthur Eze made a donation of the said 50 million naira to support his senatorial campaign in 2015.

Senator Andy Uba has reacted to the viral news of execution of a court judgment in which it was reported that vehicles belonging to him were seized over a N50 million loan he purportedly took from Oranto Petroleum Limited, a company belonging to Engr Arthur Eze.

Reacting to the news in a press release sent to AIF Media, Senator Andy Uba denied taking any loan from Arthur Eze. He narrated how the Ukpo billionaire came to ST. JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH UGA, AGUATA L.G.A, ANAMBRA STATE during his campaign for senate in 2015 and made a donation of 50 million naira.

Senator Uba released a video footage where Prince Arthur Eze was heard making the donation in the church and gave out the cheque of 50 million naira to the presiding priest at the alter in support of his campaign for senate in 2015.

He went further to narrate how dumbfounded and shocked he was when Engr Arthur Eze turned around to obtain a fraudulent judgement from Anambra state high court, Ekwulobia division in 2017. He said he quickly filed an appeal against the judgement but had to withdraw the appeal when some stakeholders from Anambra state led by PRINCE AUSTIN NDIGWE (UZU-AWKA) intervened.

He withdrew his appeal after meeting with Arthur Eze at his Enugu residence in a peace meeting brokered by Uzu-Awka. He said he was shocked that after withdrawing his appeal at the Appeal court, Enugu Division, the Ukpo billionaire reneged on their peace agreement and clandestinely went behind to execute the fraudulent judgement of the Ekwulobia high court.

Below is the full text of Senator Andy Uba's reaction and the video footage of where Prince Arthur Eze made the 50 million naira donation at St. James Anglican church UGA.

MY ATTENTION HAS BEEN DRAWN TO THE DEFAMATORY, MALIGNING AND CHARACTER INJURIOUS PUBLICATIONS IN THE PRINT AND ELECTRONIC MEDIUM, AS WELL AS SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS ON MALICIOUS FALSEHOOD AND ALLEGATIONS ARISING FROM THE EXECUTION OF JUDGEMENT OF HIGH COURT OF ANAMBRA STATE IN SUIT NO: AG/94/2016, THROUGH THE BAILIFFS OF THE HIGH COURT OF THE FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY ABUJA ON 23/8/2022. IT IS FUNDAMENTALLY IMPERATIVE TO UNEQUIVOCALLY STATE IN CLEAR AND CATEGORICAL TERMS THE TRUE FACTUAL POSITION, THUS:

FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT, I NEVER BORROWED N50,000,000 (FIFTY MILLION NAIRA ONLY) FROM PRINCE ARTHUR EZE, BOTH OF US ONLY ATTENDED A CHURCH SERVICE AT ST. JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH UGA, AGUATA L.G.A, ANAMBRA STATE DURING MY SENATORIAL CAMPAIGN IN THE BUILD UP TO 2015 GENERAL ELECTIONS.

IN THE COURSE OF THE SAID CHURCH SERVICE, PRINCE ARTHUR EZE MADE A DONATION OF N50,000,000 (FIFTY MILLION NAIRA ONLY) TO SUPPORT MY SENATORIAL POLITICAL CAMPAIGN ON THE ALTAR AND THE ENTIRE CONGREGANT WERE ENGULFED WITH JOY AND HAPPINESS WHICH MADE THE OFFICIATING PRIEST EXTEND A WARM HAND SHAKE OF GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION FOR HIS KIND GESTURE, WHICH I EQUALLY SENT A LETTER OF APPRECIATION DATED 22/2/2015 TO PRINCE ARTHUR EZE. THE LETTER IS HEREIN ATTACHED.

I WAS TOTALLY DUMBFOUNDED, SURPRISED AND FLABBERGASTED HAVING LEARNT THAT MY BOSSOM FRIEND AND BROTHER, HAD THROUGH HIS COMPANY ORANTO PETROLEUM LIMITED THROUGH WHICH THE SAID CHEQUE OF N50,000,000 (FIFTY MILLION NAIRA ONLY) WAS DRAWN HAD FILED AN ACTION ONE YEAR AFTER AT THE HIGH COURT OF ANAMBRA STATE, AGUATA DIVISION SITTING AT EKWULOBIA IN SUIT NO: AG/94/2016, THROUGH WHAT THEY CALLED (UNDEFENDED LIST) PROCEDURE OR LIQUIDATED MONEY DEMAND OR SUMMARY JUDGMENT PROCEDURE. THE PERTINENT QUESTION IN THE LIPS OF MANY PEOPLE WOULD BE, DO PEOPLE GO TO THE ROOF TOPS TO PRAISE OR THANK OTHERS FOR GRANTING THEM LOAN FACILITIES? HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE YOU SEEN THAT SECURED A LOAN FACILITY FROM A BANK OR AN INDIVIUAL AND WENT TO CHURCH PRAISING THE CREDITOR FOR GRANTING THEM SUCH A LOAN FACILITY WHICH WOULD ONLY BE REPAYED?

I QUICKLY ENGAGED MY LAWYERS WHO FILED MY DEFENCE ON THE MERIT DENYING THE ALLEGATIONS THAT THE SAID MONEY WAS A LOAN BUT A FREE WILL DONATION, UNFORTUATELY DESPITE OUR OBVIOUS DEFENCE AND ISSUES HAVING BEEN JOINED, THE TRIAL COURT REFUSED AND FAILED TO AFFORD US FAIR HEARING BY HAVING THE MATTER HEARD ON FULL BLOWN TRIAL WHERE WITNESSES WILL BE CALLED AND EVIDENCE LED, BUT PROCEEDED TO HEAR THE MATTER ON (UNDEFENDED LIST) PROCEDURE OR SUMMARY JUDGMENT PROCEDURE, THAT IS, HEARING THE CASE ON ONLY THE ALLEGATIONS AND DOCUMENTS FILED BY THE PLAINTIFF (ORANTO PETROLEUM LIMITED) WITHOUT CONTRADICTION. THE COURT WENT AHEAD TO GRANT ALL THE RELIEFS AND ENTERED JUDGEMENT IN FAVOUR OF THE PLAINTIFF ON 6/3/2017.

IN EXERCISE OF MY CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT, I LODGED AN APPEAL AT THE COURT OF APPEAL ENUGU CULMINATING TO SENATOR ANDY UBA –VS- ORANTO PETROLEUM LIMITED, APPEAL NO: CA/E/197/2017, CHALLENGING THE SAID DECISION OF THE HIGH COURT OF ANAMBRA STATE AMONG OTHER THINGS, ON THE GROUND THAT THE SAID MONEY WAS A FREE WILL DONATION AND NOT A LOAN AS WELL AS A CHALLENGE THAT HEARING THE MATTER ON UNDEFENDED LIST WITHOUT MY INPUT AMOUNT TO BREACH OF MY FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT TO FAIR HEARING GUARANTEED UNDER SECTION 36 OF THE 1999 CONSTITUTION OF NIGERIA (AS AMENDED), WHICH OCCASIONED A MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE.

IN VIEW OF THE ABOVE, PARTIES FILED AND EXCHANGED THEIR RESPECTIVE BRIEFS OF ARGUMENT AND THE APPEAL SET DOWN FOR HEARING ON THE 26TH FEBRUARY, 2019. HOWEVER, THERE WAS AN INTERVENTION BY SOME ANAMBRA STAKEHOLDERS AND I WAS APPROACHED BY PRINCE AUSTIN NDIGWE (UZU-AWKA) WHO IS A MUTUAL FRIEND OF MYSELF AND PRINCE ARTHUE EZE FOR AMICABLE SETTLEMENT OF THE MATTER OUT OF COURT.

I WAS THEREUPON, AFTER A MEETING BETWEEN MYSELF AND PRINCE ARTHUR EZE AT HIS ENUGU RESIDENCE WHICH WAS CHAMPIONED BY PRINCE AUSTIN NDIGWE (UZU-AWKA), INSTIGATED BY WAY OF ADVICE TO WITHDRAW THE APPPEAL ON THE GROUND THAT PRINCE ARTHUR EZE HAD THEN BECOME SATISFIED THAT THE MONEY WAS ACTUALLY A DONATION FOR MY SENATORIAL POLITICAL CAMPAIGN AND NOT A LOAN AS HE WAS MEANT TO BELIEVE EARLIER.

PRINCE ARTHUR EZE PERSUADED ME THROUGH THE SAID PRINCE AUSTIN NDIGWE (UZU AWKA) TO DISCONTINUE THE APPEAL AND IN ORDER TO DEMONSTRATE GOOD FAITH AND BROTHERLINESS, I QUICKLY INSTRUCTED MY LAWYER TO WITHDRAW THE APPEAL, DESPITE THE FACT THAT WE OUGHT TO EXTRACT TERMS OF SETTLEMENT AS A CONDITION BECAUSE THE APPEAL WAS AT THE CONCLUDING STAGE. CONSEQUENTLY, BASED ON THE NOTICE OF WITHDRAWL FILED BY MY LAWYER, THE APPEAL WAS DISMISSED BY THE COURT OF APPEAL ON 29TH FEBRUARY, 2019.

I WAS DEEPLY ASTONISHED AND SHOCKED BEYOND BONE MARROW WHEN I LEARNT THAT MY BROTHER AND MUTAL FRIEND, PRINCE ARTHUR EZE DESPITE HIS UNDERTAKINGS AT THE MEETING HAD RENEGED HIS PROMISES ON GENTLEMANLY AND BROTHERLY AGREEMENT WE HAD AND SURPRISINGLY SURFACED IN THE HIGH COURT OF THE FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRIORY ABUJA, REGISTERED AND IMMEDIATELY EXECUTED THE SAID JUDGEMENT OF THE HIGH COURT OF ANAMBRA STATE, AGUATA DIVISION SITTING AT EKWULOBIA. THE SUBJECT MATTER OF MY APPEAL TO THE COURT OF APPEAL ENUGU, WITH THE SOLE INTENTION TO EMBARRASS, DEFAME AND REDUCE MY REPUTATION BEFORE THE RIGHT THINKING MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC USING NUMEROUS HIRED SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS.

FOR PURPOSES OF CLARITY, I ATTACHED HEREWITH A VIDEO CLIP OF PRINCE ARTHUR EZE’S DONATION OF N50,000,000 TO MY POLITICAL CAMPAIGN FOR ELECTION INTO THE SENATE OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA TO REPRESENT ANAMBRA SOUTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT IN THE SENATE OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY, MADE AT ST. JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH UGA, AGUATA L.G.A, ANAMBRA STATE.

THIS IS CONTRARY TO THE INFORMATION BEING CIRCULATED IN SEVERAL PRINT AND ELECTRONIC MEDIUM, AS WELL AS SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS TO THE EFFECT THAT THE ABOVE SUM WAS A FREE INTEREST FRIENDLY LOAN, WHICH IS A CALCULATED ATTEMPT TO DEFAME AND MALIGN MY NOBLE CHARACTER AND HARD EARNED REPUTATION.

IT IS SHOCKING AND BAFFLING HOW A MAN WILL STAND ON THE SACRED ALTAR OF GOD AND DONATE TO THE POLITICAL ASPIRATION AND CAMPAIGN OF HIS BROTHER, OF WHICH THE OFFICIATING PRIEST EXTENDED A WARM HAND SHAKE OF GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION FOR HIS KIND GESTURE AND LATER TURN AROUND TO DENY THE PURPOSE OF THE DONATION.

I HAVE DEEP RESPECT FOR RULE OF LAW AND SANCTITY OF OUR JUDICIAL SYSTEM WITH UNBLEMISHED POLITICAL CAREER AS A DEVOTED PUBLIC FIGURE, FORMER GOVERNOR OF ANAMBRA STATE, FORMER SENATOR OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, FORMER SPECIAL ASSISTANT ON SPECIAL DUTIES AND DOMESTIC AFFAIRS TO PRESIDENT OLUSEGUN OBASANJO, AS WELL AS LOVING FATHER, DEDICATED CHRISTIAN AND LAW ABIDING CITIZEN OF THIS GREAT NATION, STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT JUSTICE WILL BE DONE IN THE FINAL ANALYSIS.

I THEREFORE CALL ON THE GENERAL PUBLIC, MEN AND WOMEN OF GOOD WILL AS WELL AS POLITICAL FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS, BUSINESS ASSOCIATES AND FAMILY MEMBERS, WITH ENDURING PASSION FOR JUSTICE, FAIR PLAY AND EQUITY, TO REMAIN CALM.

SEN. (DR.) SENATOR EMMANUEL ANDY UBA, MFR

Politics / Re - Architects Of The Present Crisis In Anambra Pdp by DNReporters(m): 4:20pm On Jun 01, 2022
One Uchem Obi's article on the above subject matter was a right hit on the nail. Dispassionate analysts ought to know that the present crisis in Anambra PDP is a fall out of the governorship primary last year, when the party held parallel primary elections. Senator Ugochukwu Uba won the first primary with 275 votes while Valentine Ozigbo won the other with 62 votes.

The above results point to where true and real members of the party voted. To emerge governorship candidate with 62 votes in a state like Anambra and in a party like PDP says so much about a faulty process powered by illegality.

Senator Ugochukwu Uba's 275 votes appears more authentic, as true delegate voting of a large party as PDP. Yet it was discarded for 62 votes of unknown super delegates. The real delegates that voted for Senator Ugochukwu Uba and other aspirants were the ones provided for in the party's constitution. They felt robbed that the candidate they elected on behalf of their constituents was jettisoned for someone who was purportedly elected unlawfully by a group of people who were not elected as delegates and therefore, without powers to elect a governorship candidate.

Expectedly, when PDP lost the governorship election last year, the real delegates knew that their political fortunes had become imperilled and earnestly hoped for an opportunity to extract their pound of flesh. The opportunity just came and the perpetrators of last year's infamy have forgotten too soon, that outside the church, a bad turn usually earns a bad turn too.

This is the genesis of the present crisis in Anambra PDP. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either a hater of truth or not conversant with the tragedies of last year's governorship primary. The true delegates of Anambra PDP and their supporters are not happy about their loss and are squaring up to get even with those who disenfranchised them last year.

The anger of the these disenfranchised delegates, their families, friends and supporters are the catalysts of the present Anambra PDP crisis and not Chief Chris Uba or Chief Linus. I am not a fan of these two men but I do know, that they cannot be blamed for the travesty of last year's governorship primary. They are only reaping the bountiful harvest from a decimated party in which they have become rallying points for party members in search for true PDP Leadership.

However, I do not also blame Valentine Ozigbo for the rot in Anambra PDP, which his wrongful emergence in last year's governorship primary engendered. Ozigbo is a political rookie, a green horn, a total novice with ambition, whose ambition former Governor Peter Obi and other oligarchs, as Uchem Obi put it, rode on to impeach democratic history, norms and practices of the party in last year's governorship primary. Ozigbo is just a minion whose ambition was hijacked by Peter Obi and co for their own intents and purposes.

After 24 years of the formation of PDP, there are revered interests, loyal, dedicated and committed to the party, as Senator Ugochukwu Uba, Chief Chris Uba, Chief Linus Ukachukwu etc, who have never belonged to any other political party since 1998.

It is foolhardy to believe that Peter Obi who only joined PDP in 2015, seventeen years after these men joined hands with others to form the party, can succeed in displacing them from the party or making them irrelevant. It is a dangerous ambition which has sparked off the present crisis in Anambra PDP.

Peter Obi was the architect of impunity in Anambra PDP since he joined the party. Two years after he joined the party, he altered delegates list in 2017 and singlehandedly imposed his crony, Oseloka Obaze as governorship candidate on PDP Anambra. Obaze abysmally lost the election and in 2021, having not learnt any lesson, he repeated the same imposition with Ozigbo. Again he lost abysmally.

My advice to Ozigbo is to shelve writing letters and stop hobnobbing with Peter Obi and his ilk, unless he has chosen to follow him to Labour Party. He should reach out to the true "owners" of the party in the state. Their structures in Anambra PDP are too formidable, making them equally too strong to be pushed aside, especially by new entrants to the party.

Politics / Ozigbo And His Clique Are The Architects Of The Present Crisis In PDP Anambra by DNReporters(m): 10:41pm On May 27, 2022
By Uchem Obi

I have just read Mr. Valentine Ozigbo's vile letter to the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, His Excellency, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, in which he employed the hackneyed but doomed strategy of emotional blackmail to accuse National officers of the party of colluding with Chief Linus Ukachukwu, Chief Chris Uba, Senator Uche Ekwunife and others to destabilize the party.

As a follow up to this hilarious accusation, he announced that he joined the party in 2018 and came into full time politics in 2020 and claimed also, to have won "a keenly contested governorship primary election", after supporting the party for decades.

As contentious as this brazen falsehood is, I want to point out to Mr. Ozigbo, that he cannot successfully undermine both Ukachukwu and Uba in PDP, especially in Anambra State. Both of them were foundation members of the party in 1998, twenty years before he registered as a member of the party in 2018. The duo had also supported the party vigorously all these years, and swam the tide with the party, for better for worse.

It is important to point out also to Ozigbo in case he has forgotten, that there was nothing keen about the kangaroo governorship primary election he claimed to have won last year. The preposterous claim to have won a governorship primary election with mere 62 votes is an unmitigated absurdity, for which Ozigbo and his co- travellers should be hiding their faces in shame.

It is unbelievable that he complained of disrespect and lack of recognition from party members in the state. It is called pay back time for the impunity committed by Ozigbo and his clique during last year's governorship primary.

Respect is earned and not a gifted. Expecting respect and recognition from the same party members he displaced during last year's governorship primary is the height of political naivety. There are two questions I want to put to Ozigbo. Who were the delegates that voted for him during "his keenly contested governorship primary election?" Where were the real delegates of the party at the time some 62 manipulators purportedly elected him? In case he has forgotten, the real delegates of the party were not at the Women Development Centre, where his clique crowned him their candidate with only 62 votes.

The real delegates of the party were at Paul University playground Awka, where they elected Senator Ugochukwu Uba as the candidate of the party with 275 votes. Rather than accept defeat Ozigbo dragged the true delegates and faithful members of PDP Anambra through the "harakirian" highway to Golgotha, the place of death.

Did he win the election? No, he didn't. Professor Chukwuma Soludo beat him silly because he couldn't have been the party's governorship candidate with paltry 62 votes. Ozigbo thus imperilled the political fortunes of members of PDP in Anambra State and they have not forgiven him.

Neither Chris Uba nor Linus Ukachukwu are the causes of the present crisis in PDP Anambra State. The present crisis is caused and sustained by Ozigbo's dishonest ambition to perpetuate the roguery of last year's primary election. The true delegates in that election and the teeming supporters of the party, whose political fortunes he and his group imperilled have risen up against him and his group. They are like telling him, you don't have business with ordinary delegates like us, go and look for the super delegates you used to disenfranchise us during last year's governorship primary election.

This is the origin of the crisis Ozigbo is accusing the National Officers of the party of aiding and abetting. The ease with which he accused PDP National Working Committee, the Congress Committees, the Screening Committees, the Appeal Panel and the National Chairman of the party is reminiscent of someone on a free fall. People on free falls usually clutch and latch on to anything that could break their fall and prevent the catastrophic descent.

If every National Officer of PDP including Congress Committee members, Screening Committee members, members of the Appeal Panel and the National Chairman are all stooges of Chief Chris Uba, then Ozigbo may be needing urgent psychiatric evaluation.

The notion of every National Officer of the party on assignment to Anambra State being demonized by Ozigbo as Chris Uba's stooge is an eccentric misadventure which reflects Ozigbo's obsession with power and cheap popularity.

I believe also that Ozigbo was hallucinating when he alluded to the "beauty of due process when I participated in the governorship primary under the erstwhile NWC". The exact position of due process in his myopic allusion is impossible to place. Where is due process when 62 oligarchs working for themselves and by themselves, constituted an aberration called Super Delegates and crowned Ozigbo candidate of the party in total neglect and usurpation of the rights of true delegates? In ideal societies Ozigbo should be the target of public opprobrium because he and his group stole the mandate of over 3,800 Delegates, which denied the party of the emergence of an accepted and acceptable governorship candidate.

He should be on his knees apologizing to the members and supporters of PDP in the state for the brigandage he and his group unleashed upon the party last year, which cost the party the governorship election. In the pursuit of reckless ambition, he imperilled the political fortunes of PDP members in the state.

The respect and recognition he seeks are embedded in the womb of time and will only be delivered when he earns them, which may not be soon enough, because party members he imperilled their fortunes are up against him. Party faithfuls who blamed his preposterous emergence as governorship candidate for the loss of the election and its attendant benefits are up against him. Rather than running from pillar to post, weeping up unnecessary sentiments and attempting to blackmail the National leadership of the party and committed members of the party in the state, he should become penitent and purge himself of impunity and the vaulting ambition of attempting to sideline committed party elders, who have supported the party and held the party together with personal resources for decades.

Ozigbo's hallucination about the beauty of due process when he participated in the primary election under the "erstwhile NWC" is an indirect indictment and accusation of the present National Working Committee of masterminding the crisis in PDP Anambra State.

I did not set out to sit as a judge on the internal matters of the party but I do know, that an individual who finds fault with every officer of his own party has aggravated character flaw and it is not out of order to ask Ozigbo to deal with his cantankerous character before political oblivion takes him by surprise.

Ozigbo, his godfather and their group have done great damage to the party in the state and their exit from the party will mark a new beginning. During every election PDP will win majority of the seats in the National Assembly but will always fail to clinch the governorship because of their penchant for abusing democratic processes. In 2017, Peter Obi imposed his former Secretary of Government, Oseloka Obaze, who was then not even a member of the party by hijacking and altering the delegate list. The party failed woefully in the election because the authentic members of the party opposed the imposition and Obaze lost.

In 2021, the same Peter Obi, who only joined the party in 2015, through manipulation of the delegate list again imposed Valentine Ozigbo, a Hotel Manager, who just joined the party a few months to the election, with the shameful score of 62 votes he claimed to have won, in a primary election where 3,800 delegates were expected to vote. Yet again, the authentic members of PDP resisted him because the authentic delegates participated in an authentic primary election where they elected Senator Ugochukwu Uba with 275 votes. Ozigbo's candidacy in last year's election was questionable and it is laughable that such a character should aspire to be the leader of the party. Having made the party to lose the election, how will the party in all honesty reward his fraud with Leadership.

When did PDP begin to reward fraud and impunity? Leadership of a political party requires a lot of investment in time and sacrifice. This Ozigbo has not done.

He should stand in queue and begin to learn the rudiments of party politics. The Uba brothers, Ugochukwu and Chris have been in the PDP from its formation in 1998 till date. Ozigbo cannot be crying more than the authentic members of the party. As far as truth is concerned, he has no stake in PDP. He is just a passerby.

His withdrawal from the race for Anambra South Senatorial District is commendable, honourable and respectful, moreso, as the impunity that made his retrogressive emergence as governorship candidate last year does no longer exist. That his godfather, former Governor Peter Obi has resigned from the party at the same time that Ozigbo is crying wolf is because true and dedicated members of the party have resolved with great determination to take back PDP Anambra State from meddlesome interlopers like Ozigbo and his band of political marauders.
