You are talking like a fool. All the time you've been reading articles about notable US figures have you ever heard it mentioned that someone was a summa cum laude graduate of anything the way you constantly hear first class graduate in Nigeria?? There is no direct equivalence between laudes in US and Ist, 2nd class in Naija.
Also I can 100% assure you Tinubu did not graduate summa cum laude even from that 4th rate CSU.

Bro, you are guilty of two kinds of fallacy we call Ignoratio elenchi and argumentum ad hominem,. That means, you are missing the point and have failed to address the issue in question, and you are attacking me and calling me names. This wasn't the argument. You stated that there was no such thing as first class and second class in America. I corrected you and told you there was, only that they use the Latin honour system. Now, you have called me a fool and changed the argument to whether we have heard of any notable US figures having summa cum laude or if it is mentioned the way we constantly hear first class graduate in Nigeria. Wow! Your line of argument reflects the poverty of the mind that makes people complain there are no jobs in the country whereas they are, themselves, unemployable.
You may be right that they don't often sing it like a song in America, but they still have those classes of degree and they celebrate them. They even document it more than we do in Nigeria. You asked if all the time you've been reading articles about notable US figures have you ever heard it mentioned that someone was a summa cum laude graduate. Let me give you a short list that i got from articles:

Ted Cruz, US senator, graduated magna cum laude in 1995
Barack Obama, former US president, graduated with a JD magna cum laude in 1991.
John F. Kennedy, former US president, graduated cum laude from Harvard University in 1940
Jeff Bezos graduated with a summa cum laude from Princeton University
Al Gore graduated with a cum laude in June 1969
Henry Kissinger graduated with a summa cum laude from Harvard in 1950
John Roberts graduated with a summa cum laude in 1979
David Foster Wallace graduated with a summa cum laude in 1985
Henry Charles Whitaker graduated with a magna cum laude 2003, etc, etc., etc.

After reading this, please call that person in your mirror the fool that you just called me.

Actually there is no such thing as first class in US. That's why you don't hear anybody who schooled in US talking about first class or such. So that right there is already a LIE. Nothing like graduating "first class" in United States!

Stop misinforming people. There is first class in the US. The only difference is that they use the latin honours system where instead of saying first class, you say it in Latin as follows:

1st Class Honours = summa cum laude
Upper 2nd Class Honours = magna cum laude
Lower 2nd Class Honours = cum laude
