A family statement has confirmed that L'Oreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt has died at the age of 94.

She is believed to be the richest woman in the world; The heiress was named the 14th richest person in the world by Forbes.  Her daughter Francoise Bettencourt Meyers said in a statement that her mother 'left peacefully' at her home in Paris.

According to reports, She was rarely seen in public since leaving the L'Oreal board in 2012, but her name remained in the headlines as members of her entourage were charged with exploiting her failing mental health.

Bettencourt had been declared unfit to run her own affairs in 2011 after a medical report showing she had suffered from 'mixed dementia' and 'moderately severe' Alzheimer's disease since 2006.



She married French politician and future cabinet minister Andre Bettencourt in 1950, the couple remained together for 57 years during which time they had one daughter.

She inherited L'Oreal after her father died in 1957 and remained at the helm of the company for more than five decades.



In 1987 she set up the Bettencourt Schueller foundation along with her husband and daughter. The organisation is aimed at developing humanitarian projects.

Her position at L'Oreal saw Battencourt face a huge amount of criticism throughout her career and in 2007 she was given a Black Planet Award - an award created by the Ethecon Foundation and handed to those it deems to be destroying the planet.

Her death opens a new phase for L'Oreal, France's fourth-largest listed company, altering the relationship it has with key shareholder Nestle, the Swiss food company.

Bettencourt and her children owned 33 percent of the company. Her daughter said in a statement the family remained committed to L'Oreal and its management team.

It’s September 2nd, 2017. I’m with the German National team right now, and yesterday we took a big step towards the World Cup in Russia after beating Czech Republic 2-1. During the last couple of days my DFB teammates have been asking me about how everything is at Arsenal at the moment. They claimed to have read about the current crisis through the media, as pundits and former players are commenting on a daily basis. They say that this could be the worst team in years, even decades.

I’m writing this text together with people that are close to me, and we’ve got something to celebrate. Although no match was won, or trophy was lifted today, Arsenal and I are celebrating our anniversary! Four years ago I was transferred in a last minute deal from Real Madrid to Arsenal – Arsène Wenger convinced me. He told me about the great history of this club, about its living legends such as Bergkamp, Vieira and Pirès, who owe a large part of their success to the manager. Arsène told me how he would help me to develop as a player, and this is something every player wants to hear, as it is great encouragement.

Although I initially struggled when coming to the Premier League, I accepted the challenge. I started as a left-winger at the beginning, and in all honestly, I am not a great admirer of that position for myself – I’m better as a ‘number 10’. When playing in the centre I can control the game and generate chances. The Premier League is physically much more demanding then La Liga or the Bundesliga. 1-1 draws are much tougher, and the smaller clubs also have very strong teams that can easily catch you out. Furthermore, there is no winter break, meaning the season is extremely long and exhausting, especially when you are playing at European and National Team level too.

We have achieved a lot in our four years together. Three of the 13 FA Cup victories have been accomplished in the past four years, with the other ten taking 75 years for the club to win. This is in addition to our three Community Shield wins. After all, six titles in four years is quite something. However, this only makes myself and the team even more disappointed for not playing a role in the title race at the end of last season – this is something we hope to change this year.

Personally I’ve had to accept a lot of criticism during my time in London. ‘Too expensive, too greedy, bad body language, and lacking fight’ – this is what people have said about me. Some of these comments are made by those who do not know me, some are made by former players – both successful and unsuccessful during their time here at the club. Although criticism is something that all football players have to deal with, I nevertheless expected legends to behave like legends – my advice to these former Gunners: stop talking and start supporting!

I would like to thank all the Gooners that have always supported me and believed in me. When I leave the Emirates after a game, I see the fans standing along the street cheering. Yes, the result and influence of China, has sent the price of Bitcoin from achieving $5000 mark and ensuring Ethereum slip below $300 the first time in almost a month.

So why did China shutdown 60 companies on embarking on an ICO mission not 6, 60 ?

Well, according to reports China see’s some of these companies coming with their ICO as scammish companies, simply put, illegal fundraising for the owners to be super rich without putting to use why they started the funding in the first place.

China being an influence in the marketplace with about one fifth cryptocurrency owners coming from the busiest market in the world, know their place in the industry as such would want to protect their citizens. A legislative order is being put in place to create sanity in the industry. And not forgetting about $ 1.6 Billion has been raised through ICOs.

Am a huge fan of this as am totally against ICOs that are just put up with lots of rehashed claims on what they have to offer; already the US Securities and Exchanges Commission has placed embargo on token sales, having itself banned several for not adhering to relevant securities legislation.

A good move which should be copied across board, what is important is ICOs should be encouraged only those who merit this, for now prices are crashing, good time to go LONG !!

This Morning, retired and Everton new signing Wayne Rooney was arrested yesterday driving a woman home in her Volks Wagen Beetle because she was too drunk to drive when he was stopped by police, it has been confirmed he helped a woman who was excessively drunk. The 31 year old was arrested with the 29 year old woman 2 a.m this morning Friday 01/09/2017 at Wilmslow, Cheshire.

He was seen later today in training at Everton training ground; according to reports He was taken to a local police station where he was quizzed by officers.

At around 1.30 pm Cheshire Police announced they had charged Rooney with drink-driving.

Rooney was picked up by agent Paul Stretford from the Middlewich Custody Suite, Cheshire, in a black Range Rover on Friday, having spent several hours in custody.

He was released on bail and is due to appear at Stockport Magistrates’ Court on September 18.

Introduction to Blockchain :

Before you start talking about Bitcoin, Litecoin or even Ripple aka XRP ( I just like that short form), never forget their roots. All cryptocurrencies went through a system of records or blocks known today simply as blockchain.

Blockchain in simple terms are stack of continuous  records, you know like having pieces of papers forming a book, some say block chain is a ledger others say it is new internet, more like an operating system, friends I agree with all these definitions.

Blockchain can be seen publicly and unanimous, each blockchain can be assigned an address a group of jargoned encrypted letters with numbers and properly codes. Blockchain seen as the birth of new technilogies especially in yhe cryptocurrency world. with notable currencies like Bitcoin having been the oldest and most stable Blockchain is a good example of what Blcokchain technology can do.

As earlier stated Blockchain can be seen as distributed ledgers that form media and have properties that are in blocks. First time the idea of having blockchains were brought about in 1991 when Stuart Haber and W. Scott Stornette presented a work on cryptography.

The idea of having distributed blockchain became a reality in 2008 when under a pseudo Satoshi Nakamoto designed the first ever cryptocurrency Bitcoin, then it was known as the Block Chain by 2016 Block chain became a single word Blockchain.

Blockchain now facilitates millions of secured online transactions as more decentralized altcoins use the technology most notably Ripple (XRP), Recently the Central Bank of Nigeria,the Apex Bank held a stake holders meeting where the discussion was on Blockchain awareness,  '' Virtual currencies as a medium of exchange in Nigeria" It is becoming a trend and this new form of companies all over the world most notably Goldman Sachs, IBM and even accounting giants Deloitte are spending huge amount of money on research and how best to use them for business.

The medical sector is no exception with the pharmaceutical companies picking interest in Blockchain and even some placing Initial Coin Offerings  (ICO) on using such tech.
