Religion / You Should Be Willing To Work by FaithfulServant(m): 9:01pm On Jan 04, 2018
“So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work” (Nehemiah 4:6).

As children of God, we should have the mind to work. It is God’s own plan for us that we should not be slothful in our business but fervent in Spirit, working for Him (Romans 12:11).

Are you working for the Lord or working for the world? Why should you work for the world when you can work for the Lord (1 John 2:15). Seek to work for the Lord because Jesus said in Matthew 9:37, “… The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few”. Be among the few labourers working for God. You can be an instrument in the hands of the Lord if you commit yourself to the work of the Lord.

The popular saying goes that the idle mind is the devil’s workshop. Don’t stay under the yoke of the devil by remaining idle but find something doing that is beneficial both to you and the kingdom of God.

As it is written, “… if any would not work, neither should he eat.” (2 Thessalonians 3:10). There is no food for lazy man as they say and the soul of the sluggard always want but will have nothing, but the soul the hard working shall be made fat (Proverbs 13:4 ).

If you lack the strength, pray to God to grant you the strength. He gives the strength and wisdom to work to all who ask liberally (James 1:5), and believe within your heart that you can do all things through Jesus Christ who gives you strength (Philippians 4:13).

Even God and His Son Jesus work, “… My Father worketh hitherto and I work (John 5:17). If God Himself is a worker who never sleeps nor slumber in maintaining the whole universe and protecting His children, then why should man who is mere dust and ashes (Genesis 18:27) not work but remain idle?

Engage yourself with something meaningful today and whatsoever work your hands find doing, do it with all you mind and heart (Colossians 3:23), and as you do this the Lord will bless you.

Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, I come before you today. Give me the strength never to be slothful at work but fervent also serving you in spirit and in truth (Romans 12:11; John 4:24). Any form of feebleness in my mind and body, Lord be please take it away that I may serve you with all my strength. I pray this day, Amen.

Religion / Jesus Is Seeking Lost Souls by FaithfulServant(m): 6:00pm On Jan 03, 2018
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10).

There is no depth of sin that cannot be forgiven. This is contrary to the belief of some who think that their sinfulness is so deep that they cannot obtain salvation anymore. No! My dear friends, Jesus is still ever willing and just to forgive and pardon your sins, cleansing you from all unrighteousness in the process (1 John 1:9). All you have to do is to be willing also to turn away from all unrighteousness.

Jesus Christ was a friend to sinners in His earthly days because He did not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance (Luke 5:32). Even today, Jesus Christ through His post-earthly ministry by the Holy Spirit (John 15:26) is seeking for the lost that have gone astray from the ways of the Lord. Are you actively living in sin or struggling with sin? Know within you that Jesus still love you and is ready to set you free from that yoke of sin and bondage. Just call on the name of Jesus because there is power in the name of Jesus to break every yoke of sin (Romans 10:13).

One of the ways to obtain salvation from God is by admitting your sinfulness and not putting on a false righteous garment and act as if nothing is happening. Admitting one’s own sin is exemplified by the publican in the book of Luke, “And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner (Luke 18:13). The publican admitted his sinfulness and went home justified ahead of the Pharisee who was self righteous forgetting the fact that all our self righteousness are as filthy rags in the sight of God (Isaiah 64:6) and we are saved by grace and not by our works and we should not boast of it but give thanks (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Another instance is Zacchaeus who also was a publican and sinner but willing to make amends of all his wrong doings (Luke 19:8 ) and was granted salvation by the Lord (Luke 19:9).

You who have been saved, you too can also seek for the lost by preaching the gospel of Christ to them just as Jesus Christ admonished us all to go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature and whoever believe shall be saved and whoever believe not, shall be dammed (Mark 16:15-16). Be among those who believe the gospel of Christ today and be saved.

Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, I come before you today to turn away from my unrighteousness. Wash away all my transgressions and make me pure within and without (Proverbs 30:12). Help me to live a life that is pleasing to you and give me the grace not to draw back into sin (Hebrews 10:38,39). As you save me, save my entire family also, I pray this day, Amen.

Guard your eyes and sight with all diligence and you will be able to live your life without negligence (Matthew 6:22).

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first” (1 Thessalonians 4:16).

Are you ready for the Lord return? The Bible makes us understand that the coming of the Lord will happen in a moment and at the twinkling of an eye (1 Corinthians 15:52).

Some delay their repentance because they feel that the coming of the Lord is still far away or they may think within themselves, “why don’t we merry for the mean time and when the time of the Lord draws near, we will get ourselves prepared for the Lord’s return” but Jesus has said that the time and hour of His coming no man knows except the Father only (Matthew 24:36; 24:44).

Jesus Christ gave signs of His coming (Matthew 24:3) and the signs has started manifesting already (Matthew 24). My dear friend don’t delay your repentance because God is ever willing, faithful and just to forgive you your sins and accept you into His family (1 John 1:9). Heed to the popular saying, “delay is dangerous”. Don’t because of your negligence and nonchalant attitude spend eternity in hell with regrets that you had wish you never delayed your preparation for the Lord’s coming because Jesus will come in an hour and time you think not (Matthew 24:44).

Jesus is coming to reward everyone according to his or her works be it good or evil (Revelation 22:12). For the reward of good deeds will be everlasting life and the reward of evil deeds will be eternal damnation in the lake of fire (Matthew 25:46). If you’re good and your life is full with good deeds, continue that way till Christ return and watch and pray (Mark 13:33) to God to give you the strength not to draw back into your old ways and into perdition (Hebrews 10:38,39). On the other hand, if your ways are evil and not clean before the sight of God, repent ye therefore (Matthew 3:2), turn away from unrighteousness and seek the face of the a Lord to obtain salvation (Chronicles 7:14).

Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, I believe in you and I believe you died on the cross of Calvary for me (Romans 10:10). Concerning your coming, help me to be ready and prepared. Take away dear Lord any form of impediment that may interfere with my preparation of your second coming be it lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride or life (Romans 10:10).
As I wait for your return, give me the grace not to fall into temptation and may my garment remain spotless till your eventual and imminent return, I pray this day, Amen.

Apart from the sin of Adam and consequently the fall of man (Genesis 3), the world is suffering today because of the negligence of God’s word — the Holy Bible (Isaiah 45:23).
Religion / Jesus Is With The Keys To Your Problem by FaithfulServant(m): 1:15pm On Dec 30, 2017
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death (Revelation 1:18).

The son of God became man so that the sons of men will become sons of God. Jesus didn’t die on the cross for nothing. He died to redeem us from the error made by the first man—Adam, so that many who were made sinners by the disobedience of one man will be made righteous by the obedience of one man—Jesus (Romans 5:19).

At the fall of man, the devil held man captive and all men were destined to die and go to hell with no hope of redemption. But God love man so much that He sent His only begotten to die for man (John 3:16). With the death of Jesus in the cross of Calvary, He reclaimed the keys to hell and death that was in Satan’s possession since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3).

Immediately after the death and before the resurrection of Christ, Jesus went on to set captive saints free at the heart of the earth just as He promised before His death, “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth” (Matthew 12:40) (see also Ephesians 4:8-9).

Jesus is still in the very business of setting people free held captive by Satan. Have you been pronounced to die by you doctors? Remembers Jesus is with the Keys to death and will unlock you from that situation (Revelation 1:18). Jesus Christ can save and unlock you from any difficult situation and addiction that is gradually dragging your soul to hell. Jesus has the keys the hell and if you rely on Him, the gates of hell will not prevail against your life (Matthew 16:18).

Just as Jesus walked through the streets of Galilee healing the sick, raising the dead and giving hope to the hopeless, He is still doing the same today (Matthew 4:23). Call upon the name of Jesus and you shall be saved. Just as it is written that whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved and there is no other name given unto man by which man can be saved except the name Jesus (Romans 10:13; Acts 4:12).

Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart. I know that I’m not worthy to be called your own (Luke 18:13), but forgive me all my trespasses because I know you’re just and faithful to forgive sinners (1 John 1:9). From this day henceforth, I confess you as my Lord and saviour (Romans 10:10). Deliver me from every difficult situation of my life and save me from hell and death this day I pray, Amen.

It’s a choice. You’re to make the commitment to either serve the Lord (Matthew 4:10), serve the world (1 John 2:15) or serve yourself (2 Timothy 3:2-4).

But remember that every choice we make, there are future and eternal consequences.

Basically there is no minimum or maximum hours of prayers. It all boil down to the individual, if he or she chooses 3 hours to pray,he should be consistent with it. What God watches is your consistency in prayers not necessary the hours spent. But again if you spent more time in his presence, you get more results

True. I have learnt the importance of consistency in prayer with this. I believe for this reason, apostle Paul admonished us to pray without stop/ceasing or vacation (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

You should pray long enough to say each prayer just once. If God exists, he has a very good memory, so you don’t need to repeat yourself.

Thanks, even the bible condemns vain repetition in prayer (Matthew 6:7).

But God does exist. I was having the same doubt in mind before I had a complete change and renewal of mind (Ezekiel 36:26).

Your own time of change in this era of "change" is coming

Religion / How Long Should We Pray? by FaithfulServant(m): 11:38am On Dec 27, 2017
This is a frequent question asked by many and I think the answer was suggested by Jesus to His disciples in Matthew 26:40.

Matthew 26:40
And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Jesus Christ suggested that His disciples watch with Him one hour and then He follows up by saying, “watch and pray” (Matthew 26:41). So, if the disciples was to watch with Jesus one hour, then they were to pray also for one hour.

The same is applicable to all children of God and disciples of Jesus Christ today. You may find it difficult to pray for one hour initially, but you can start with fifteen minutes daily and build it up from there.

Do you think otherwise?

One thing Jesus Christ doesn’t care about when you finally make up your mind to give your life to Him is your past (2 Corinthians 5:17).

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

I had the worse past (Romans 3:23), but the Lord was still just and faithful to forgive (1 John 1:9). Just give your life to Him (Matthew 3:2) and I tell you the truth, He will make all things in your life new (Revelation 21:5).

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Revelation 21:5
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
