Kolmani Oil: APC Chieftain Lauds Buhari for Breaking Jinx of Oil,Gas Economy Politics

The Director Media and Publicity , Presidential Support Committee (PSC) on the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna, Engineer Kailani Muhammad has said the discovery of oil deposits in the North will put an end to the much touted and misplaced propaganda that the North is dependent on the South for sustenance.

He expressed satisfaction that finally President Muhammadu Buhari broke the jinx of Oil and Gas economy politics by dragging the net around the country in his efforts to beef up the nation's treasury trajectory.

The Chief Executive Officer of Northern based Liberator Newspapers, however said Nigerians should know that , "The oil and gas discovered in Gombe and Bauchi cannot be consumed by the indigenes of the two states alone, but it is for the benefit of the entire nation.

"What the generality of Nigerians want is; the diversification of the economy by the state Governors who wait in overseas locations only to come back to Nigeria when the free money from the Federation account is ready for collection." He added .

Engineer Kailani Muhammad who stated while briefing journalists at the weekend on the giant strides of President Muhammadu Buhari in the Oil and Gas Sector, said the discovery of oil and Gas deposits in the North will boost the capacity to transform Nigeria’s energy potentials and rank as one of the greatest global energy boardrooms.

Kailani ,who is also the Coordinator of Network for Election Education, Sensitisation and Awareness, noted that apart from the Gombe Bauchi discovery, there are other locations in the Northern part of the country with large deposits of hydrocarbon.

He further hinted that the deposits will generally impact on the Nigerian economy.

He recalled that "On the 22nd of November, 2022, President Buhari made yet another milestone in his commitment to promoting Industrialisation, and balanced economic growth to our citizens by commissioning the OPL 809 and 810 at Kolmani in Gombe, Gombe state for the drilling of crude oil.

"But on one fateful morning, precisely, Saturday, the 2nd of February 2019, President Buhari landed at Kolmani River 11 well on the Upper Benue trough of the Gongola Basin and flagged- off the spud I of the wells. Barely 8 months later, being the 10th of October, 2019 at about 18.02 hrs, one of reservoirs at Kolmani well 11 was perforated and at 21.20 hrs hydrocarbon gushed out!! This is a hallmark of a goal- getter and achiever!!! This is a legacy that will live beyond this generation and forever. We cannot deny President Muhammadu this legacy.

Meanwhile, he appealed to President Buhari to ensure that explorations in these new locations begin before he exits office in 2023.

Politics / How Not To Launder A Bad Image And Damaged Reputation By Sharafadeen Muh'd by Feminews(m): 7:13pm On Nov 24, 2022
HOW NOT TO LAUNDER A BAD IMAGE AND DAMAGED REPUTATION

By Sharafadeen Muhammad

For the Sokoto state government under RT Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, it is a wishful thinking to contemplate that the PDP, will retain power in the state after him.

In a recent interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), one Hon. Abubakar Balarabe Kakale, a Reps member representing Dange/ Tureta and Bodinga wishfully boasted that the PDP would retain power in Sokoto forgetting that both the governor and his party are burdened by lackluster performance in the last seven years.

Apart from being burdened by very bad image, for an unenviable record of being the worst government to run the affairs of the state in recent times, the governor and his party have both lost the trust of the electorate who are eager to pay them back in their own coin for deceiving and failing them in the last seven years.

It is really laughable to note that, the outgoing administration of Tambuwal can only rely on discredited ex officials to attempt an image laundering as it struggles to give account of its stewardship.

In the interview granted recently, Kakale, who was a commissioner of health for three years under Tambuwal and sacked over allegations of misappropriation of funds, shamelessly declared that the People's Democratic Party, PDP, would retain power in the state in 2023, because, according to him, the Tambuwal led administration has done exceptionally well.

He tried unconvincingly to justify his position by putting up a litany of achievements recorded by the Tambuwal administration, failing albeit to match the so called projects with the amount of resources expended on them. Surprisingly, Hon. Kakale failed to mention a single major project initiated and implemented by the Tambuwal administration in its seven years of misrule.

Although, he tried to show off a long list of phantom achievements, the former commissioner, failed to disclose the humongous revenues and the federation account allocations to the state, within the last seven and half years of the governor Aminu Tambuwal administration, to clearly show whether the government has effectively managed those resources.

The recent development index report, published by the world Bank on poverty ratings in Nigeria, Sokoto state is listed as the most poorest of all the states in the country.

Where then is the euphoria of showcasing a government who's state has been grouped among the poorest of the poor, except for the befuddled minds?

Statistics of release of funds obtained from the ministry of Finance, show that Sokoto state has received close to three hundred billion Naira( N300b) since the inception of the Aminu Tambuwal administration in 2015.

This, is aside from the internally generated revenue, which is also well above one hundred billion Naira, within the same period, but, with no clear record of how these monies were expended.

It is double jeopardy, that an official with reputational deficit, is the one now engaged to launder the image of the PDP administration of Governor Aminu Tambuwal in Sokoto state.

It must be that the Governor, thinks that the people of Sokoto are so cheap and unthinking as to fall for such cheap propaganda.

For anyone, with a modicum of good conscience to contemplate, not to even wish for a continuation of the PDP administration, after the woeful performance of the outgoing Tambuwal administration, is to regard the good people of Sokoto with the highest degree of contempt.

For the information of Governor Aminu Tambuwal and his party, that is struggling to break loose from the deathrow of internal contradictions, the people of Sokoto have decided to bury whatever that may be left of the party in the state, by voting massively for the All Progressives Congress, APC, under the leadership of Senator Wamakko, and the party's governorship candidate, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.

The most sincere advise that we can give to Governor Tambuwal and the PDP supporters in the state, is for them to either join the progressive train, or, prepare to move into political oblivion next year because despite forcing himself on the electorate in 2019, Tambuwal has failed to live up to expectation. In the last seven or so years of his administration, no sector can boast of experiencing upliftment or development. The human capital development Hon. Kakale mentioned is the worst record of this PDP administration under Tambuwal.

Àpart from increasing the poverty rate in the state with zero performance in the area of curbing unemployment, the PDP has also politicised the civil service so much so that civil servants who enjoy getting their salaries at as when due during the Bafarawa and Wamakko administrations, now spend almost 50 days to get paid. Before Tambuwal took over, the civil servant was sure of getting his payslip on the 25th of every month but the PDP under Tambuwal has changed the narrative.

The business community is not left out of this PDP infection as more businesses have collapsed in the last seven years than all previous administrations put together.

Education has collapsed despite the compulsory levy imposed on civil servants in Sokoto, health institutions have become mere consulting clinics like Abacha said in 1983 and worst of all, the entire state has be impoverished with poverty written on the faces of both PDP supporters and non supporters alike.
In 2023, change is inevitable in Sokoto because Tambuwal and the PDP have betrayed everyone that voted for them. Hon. Kakale is already drowning and is seeking for cheap popularity for his already lost re.election bid and it would be suicidal for the PDP to retain power in Sokoto.

Politics / Group Backs Naira Redesign, Names Emefiele Man Of The Year by Feminews(m): 10:15pm On Nov 20, 2022
Group backs Naira redesign, names Emefiele man of the year

The Arewa Economic Advancement Promoters ( Area - P) a Group of Strategic Communication specialists and academics which has been involved in advocacy on economic empowerment policies and programmes in Northern Nigeria has thrown its weight behind the policy for the redesign of the nation’s currency by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Addressing a press conference in Kaduna on Sunday, the Group's Convener, Nasir Dambatta shared the Central Bank of Nigeria's concerns about the urgent need to take measures to deal with liquidity and the flow of crime proceeds in the nation and also feel duty bound to underscore the essence of the Naira redesign policy generally.
The Group declared as unacceptable for Nigeria to allow 80% of badly-needed cash outside commercial banks because this has so far had damaging consequences on the national economy.
The CBN, it said, should be allowed to follow this process up to the point of regaining full control over money supply.
"This is necessary, at least in view of our worrisome inflation, which reached 20.7 per cent in September 2022, according to media reports," Dambatta said.
He noted that the CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele admitted that as at September 2022, Nigerian banking system had N3.23 trillion in circulation. Of this amount, N2.73 trillion is now outside commercial bank vaults or hidden by some citizens in crude forms.
"Our independent investigation has confirmed that the CBN wants to first and foremost mop up that N3.32 trillion back into the system, to enable the apex bank take control of money supply again, and begin to see how such a strategy will help rein in inflation.
"We also wish to draw the attention of Nigerians to the fact that the CBN has acted within limits of its monetary policy powers, on this naira redesign policy. The management of the CBN relied of section 2(b), section 18(a), and section 19(a)(b) of the CBN Act 2007; had duly sought and obtained President Muhammadu Buhari's approval to proceed with releasing and circulation of new series of N200, N500, and N1,000 banknotes," he said
The Group also shared the Senate's position as captured by the Committee Chairman on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions - Senator Uba Sani( Kaduna Central) that the CBN's action will address counterfeiting due to the prolonged use of the same notes, ulling the cash outside the banks will augur well for the economy as monetary policy decision making will be easier and that less notes, especially outside the banking system, will curb terrorism financing.
"We agree with Uba Sani that the less cash available outside the banking system will reduce corrupt practices engendered by cash exchanges," he said .
The Group also noted that Committe has been mandated by the Senate to deploy "aggresive" monitoring of the redesign process is very good for Nigeria, saying it is a commendable step.
"We wish to also commend President Muhammadu Buhari, his Chief Economic Adviser and Central Bank Bank Governor, Dr. Godwin Emefiele; the Senate's Banking and Finance Committee leadership and other relevant stakeholders for this well-thought-out policy, without prejudice to those opposed to the policy for political reasons or ignorance of the difference between Monetary Policy and Fiscal Policy.
"We also hereby announce our willingness to voluntarily join stakeholders in redoubling efforts towards sustaining the tempo of public enlightenment on Naira Redesign and related issues.
"As a group, we hereby declare the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele our Man of The Year for the Trillions of Naira agricultural support funds and empowerment of owners of Small Scale and Medium Enterprises in our region and indeed Nigeria. Furthermore, he successfully pled Nigeria out of recession twice," Group said.
It said it is heartwarming to many discerning observers, that the current CBN management has done its best towards funding support for agriculture, Small Scale and Medium Enterprises( SMEs) in Northern Nigeria more than ever before in the region's economic history.

Uba Sani secures Senate backing for Naira redesign

The Senate of the federal republic has through a resolution given legislative backing to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s plan to redesign the nation's higher value Naira notes in circulation
The Senate revolution followed a motion presented by Senator representing Kaduna Central, and Chairman, Senate Committee on Banking Insurance and Other Financial Institutions, Malam Uba Sani on Wednesday.
The motion termed: Redesign Of The New Naira Notes By The CBN: A Call For Legislative Support, noted that pulling the cash outside the banks will augur well for the economy as monetary policy decision making will be easier.
Explaining the substance of the motion, Uba Sani said based on the arguments and deliberations by his colleagues, he presented that hoarding of bank notes outside the banking system, with over 80% of naira notes outside the banks.
He said the motion sought to checkmate currency counterfeiting resulting from the prolonged use of the same notes.
"Less notes, especially outside the banking system, will curb terrorism financing. In the same vein the less cash available outside the banking system will reduce corrupt practices engendered by cash exchanges," he said.
According to the Senator, the Senate consequently resolved to provide legislative support for the CBN’s policy to redesign the higher value Naira notes.
"It has also resolved to direct my committee to embark on an aggressive oversight of the currency redesign process to ensure that Nigerians are protected during this process," he said.
Uba Sani encouraged Nigerians and the general public to comply with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s directive to deposit cash holdings at their respective commercial banks.
"I also urge the Senate to support the decision of the CBN given the aforementioned benefits of the currency redesign to the nation," the Senator said.

Uba Sani shakes Kaduna as over 12,000 ditch PDP, shift support to APC

From Nasir Dambatta, Regional Repoter, in Kaduna

As campaigns intensify ahead of the 2023 general elections, Kaduna State has become the major political hotbed around the northern region with alignments and realignments taking place on a daily basis.
Major beneficiary of the current realignments is Senator Uba Sani, the governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the state.
The latest addition to Uba Sani's scoop came on Sunday when he received over 12,800 decampees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Giwa Local Government.
Uba Sani, excited by this latest triumph, said the movement of such huge people from the PDP to the APC has permanently sealed the fate of the PDP in the LG.
The rally took place in the presence of the party stakeholders at both State and LG levels led by the State Chairman, Air Cmdr. Emmanuel Jekada (Rtd).
"This massive defection is a step in the right direction for the decampees, a huge advantage for our party and also a clear indication that the opposition party is now completely non-existent in Giwa Local Government Area.
"Members of the opposition party in their thousands have declared interest in joining our dear party and we will go round the rest of the 22 local governments to receive them and put a knockout punch that will extinguish PDP in Kaduna State.
"I thanked them for finding it necessary to join the progressives family and for their willingness to be part of the process in ensuring that the developmental legacies of the present administration led by our amiable Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai continues beyond 2023," Uba Sani said.
He also appreciated all APC stakeholders at the state, local government and ward levels, and urged them to continue to work assiduously for the success of the party in all elective positions in the state and at the federal level come 2023.
Shortly after the event, Uba led the stakeholders and candidates to pay homage to the District Head of Giwa, Alhaji Abdulkarim Aminu, Wamban Zazzau.

Tinubu will Get 16 Million Votes Across Northern States - Dr. Kailani

... Insists on Southern Presidency

Group under aegis of Buhari Votes Guard and Awareness (BVGA)has vowed to mobilise support across the 19 northern states to deliver nothing less sixteen million votes for the former Governor of Lagos State and Presidential flagbearer , Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the forthcoming 2023 general election .

According to him , the Northerners are people with high consciousness and respect for equity; justice and fairness ,thus the resolved to back a southern candidate in APC for the presidency.

The Coordinator of Buhari Votes Guard and Awareness ,Dr. Kailani Muhammad who disclosed this while briefing journalists in Kaduna on Sunday said It grossly unfair to vote another northerner as president after the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari expires.

He further said " The issue of rotation is common knowledge,it was started by PDP for power to rotate between north and south . Now that it is the turn of the South ,they are bringing Atiku to come and contest ,it is not possible .

"We have meet and agreed to shift power to the South and South-West in particular and by the grace of God, Tinubu is Nigeria's next President .

"He has the capacity to deliver and turn around the economy on the lane of sustainable progress and development .

We saw how he turned around the economy of Lagos during his days as Governor,to the extent that Lagos economy is now 740 percent, which is more than the entire economy of West Africa .

"Aside physical infrastructural development ,he developed the human capital to the extent that they were not only effective and efficient and rewarded performance .He made many people ,from politicians to business men millionaire and multi-millionaires today

"We believe he's going to turn around Nigeria and that is why we have resolved to support him and by the grace of God Asiwaju Tinubu will win the election and emerge as the next President of Nigeria.

On how he would mobilise the 16 Million Votes ,Dr Kailani explained,"I have the experience as a grassroots politician ,who have contested for Governorship in Kaduna State and we have revived our structures to do the magic .

"We did grassroots mobilisation for my late mentor ,Alhaji Aliyu Rufai ,Who died a year ago , he was the elder brother to current Kaduna State Governor. He contested for Governorship while I was the Campaign Director. We have revived this movement in Kaduna State.

"We have captured 80 percent of the voters in Kaduna State, which we are delivering for Tinubu.

"You saw the massive crowd that attended the Quaranic graduation ceremony at my residence ,but we are going to converge a general meeting in the next one or two weeks

"Whether we like it or not by the grace of God Asiwaju Tinubu is the next President of Nigeria."

Speaking on reasons Nigerians should not vote Atiku, according to him ,he has no basis to contest for election in this country ."We have been reiterating it he sold over 80 percent companies to his friends and cronies.

"He granted interview recently, where he reemphasize that he would sell NNPC and other national assets. We would not allow such person to come and govern Nigeria."

Reacting to question on the Labour Party Presidential Flagbearer ,Mr Peter Obi growing support base , Dr. Kailani said, " We want peace in this country ,we shall not allow any Igbo man, yes the Igbos are our brothers and sisters ,but we would not allow them to come on board in 2023, because Obi cannot speak to IPOB.

"IPOB are looking for Biafra ,they are fighting and killing innocent people ,they have even made a law in Southeast now, sit-at-home , their economy has been damaged .

"They kill our people everyday and they want Biafra ,so, nobody wants war ,we want peace and tranquility to reign in Nigeria and that is why we want Tinubu who has done it before and will do it again .

Sokoto 2023: Fresh tension in Tambuwal's camp as powerbroker Sahabi Bojo joins Wamakko in APC

The Peoples Democratic Party in Sokoto state has suffered another major setback with the shift of support base by Alhaji Sahabi Bojo and thousands of his supporters to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Bojo, a PDP stalwart from Sokoto South Senatorial District where Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal comes from, recently led thousands of his supporters in a mass defection to the APC.

Bojo and his teeming supporters were received into APC by the leader of the party in Sokoto state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Sarkin Yamman Sokoto who was assisted by lthe Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, APC Gubernatorial Candidate in the state Hon. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto and APC Chairman, Hon. Isah Sadiq Achida, among many other party leaders.

Chairman of APC in the state, Hon. Isah Sadiq Achida, while welcoming Bojo into the party, assured him and his supporters of equal treatment.

The event was held at the residence of APC leader in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko at Gawon Nama, Sokoto, which was graciously witnessed by many prominent APC loyalists in the state.

It would be recalled that prior to Bojo and supporters moves, a similar media report of mass defection was reported in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto Eastern Zone, where the leaders of the party ward executives at Turba, Bafarawa and Bargaja wards have defected to the APC, citing lack of trust as some of the few reasons that forced them out of the PDP.

In Turba Ward, some prominent members of the PDP that reportedly defected to APC, in the state were: Alhaji Sa’idu Kyaibaba, the Legal Adviser to the PDP in the ward, Alhaji Umaru Shalla, Financial Secretary, Ibrahim Dadi, Assistant Financial Secretary; and many others.

Similarly, at the Bafarawa ward in the same Isa local government area, many leaders have left PDP for the APC as they largely blamed their leaders at the state level for not showing any concern for their plight.

Kaduna Guber: Uba Sani invites Sha'aban to work for 2023 APC's victory

The Kaduna State APC gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 elections, Senator Uba Sani, has extended an olive branch to Sani Mahmood Sha'aban, pleading for his solidarity and cooperation in the race to guarantee victory for the party at the elections.

Sha'aban, who lost to Senator Sani at the party's gubernatorial primary election, went to the Federal High Court, seeking the annulment of the primary over what he described as irregularities.

The court, however, on Friday, November 4, ruled in favour of Senator Sani, affirming his candidature as the flag-bearer of the party in the 2023 gubernatorial elections in Kaduna State.

"I commend my dear brother, Malam Sani Mahmood Sha'aban for ventilating his grievance through the courts," elated Senator Sani said in a statement signed by him, maintaining on Friday, adding "That is the best way to grow and deepen our democracy."

He extended a hand of fellowship to Sani Sha'aban, imploring him to "join hands with me as we make the final push for Kashim Ibrahim House," believing, "He (Sha'aban) can add value to our incoming administration."

He charged the party men and women to see the conclusion of the case in court as an opportunity to build a united front for the 2023 electoral battle.

"Everybody is important," Senator Sani said, warning, "No one should be left behind. Inclusivity must be our watchword."

Breaking: Tension in Governor's camp as 5000 decamp to PDP in Gombe

Thousands of APC members and support groups have defected to the PDP, creating political tensions in the APC-led government of the State.

Welcoming the new members into the PDP at the State's PDP Secretariat, the governorship candidate of the opposition party, Honorable Mahammed Jibrin Barde said the people of the state were "tired of motion without movement and media propaganda on nonexistent development projects", adding that "everyone is now looking up to the PDP to rescue Gombe State ".

One of the decampees, Felicia Moses said the PDP's chances in Gombe was evident in the number of people leaving the APC "almost on daily basis and leaving the incumbent Governor out in the cold".

Leaders of the PDP in the State have expressed confidence in the possibility of electoral victory during the 2023 governorship elections in the State, boasting that the APC government in the State has just seen a tip of the iceberg.

2023 governorship: Gombe women endorse Barde, disown former women leaders

A group under the auspices of Gombe PDP Women Solidarity Assembly has declared its support for the party's 2023 governorship candidate Hon Mohammed Jibril Barde, even as it disowns former women ex-officio members who threatened to defect from the party.

Sources in Gombe said the incumbent Governor and his cabinet officials are now under fire as suspicion he was behind media attack on the PDP governorship candidate increases by the day.

It would be recalled that about five former female ex-officio members led by Miss Mole Istifanus, who was introduced to the PDP by an aspirant Alhaji Jamil Gwamna, threatened to leave the party alleging neglect, while addressing a press conference in Gombe State recently.

But in a swift response the Chairperson of the Gombe PDP Women Solidarity Assembly Chairperson Barrister Hadiza Musa said the stance the group led by Miss Mole Istifanus was "an empty threat against Barde by renegade politicians, sponsored by defeated candidates in the last PDP primaries, who have no regard for the spirit of sportsmanship".

The group expressed surprise that Mole Istifanus who was declared wanted by officials of Gombe HIV/AIDS Rehabilitation Centre "suddenly resurfaced with a sponsored campaign of calumny against our PDP candidate", they alleged.

Barrister Hadiza made her group's position known while answering questions from newsmen in Kaduna on Wednesday.

She explained that "if Barde, our Gombe 2023 PDP governorship candidate had not been a strong-willed politician, given the gang-up by his rivals and their well-oiled media propaganda machine, he would have by now lost interest in the race. I think his rivals, who are operating from the shadows, are already losing out in this game while expending resources, time and energy without success", she said.

She went on to say that those ganging up against the PDP governorship flagbearer, are operating from the shadows with a multimillion naira budget, adding that "they will fail woefully because the masses, who are the majority voters in Gombe State are solidly behind Hon Barde; don't forget that we recieved massive number of women defectors to the PDP".

According to.media reports Gombe State PDP started recieving defectors from the APC soon after Barde emerged the party's flagbearer for the 2023 governorship race.

Group Explains Reasons Sylva is Nigeria's Best Petroleum Minister

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva has been rated as the best performing Minister of Petroleum for ensuring landmark transformation and sustained Growth of National Nigerian Petroleum Company(NNPC) Ltd .

The northern based Nigerian Energy Accountability Forum (NEAF),which gave reasons for picking Sylva said it is important to identify and acknowledge leaders, who have performed and delivered on mandate of public office.

According to the group, for example ,the recent signings for laying of Gas Pipelines from Nigeria-Morocco and Algeria are project initiatives that requires commendation .

"The Project is aimed at monetization of Nigeria's abundant natural gas resources will help generate additional revenue for the Country; diversification of gas export routes, and eliminating gas flaring." It added .

In a press Statement issued and signed by the Coordinator, Engineer Ibrahim Mohammed Biu ,the group which revealed this said President Muhammadu Buhari's choice of Chief Timipre Sylva as Petroleum Minister was the best decision made by his administration .

While commending the Minister for the efforts made to ensure local sufficiency in refined petroleum products with the first phase of the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt Refinery at advanced stage of completion , it said failure to recognize performance and capacity of individuals who have done well is largely responsible for bad leadership .

"We all know that the ongoing rehabilitation of Port Harcourt refinery, if completed next year will boost internal supply, create more jobs and enhance economic development ".It stressed .

It however said the decision of the Minister to increase crude oil production to 3million barrels per day (mbd/d) with commencement of operation of the TotalEnergies’ Ikike Oil Field, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State is a right step for development .

The group in the Statement also noted that: "The signing of PIB into on the 16th of August 2021 introduced important changes to the governance, administrative, regulatory and fiscal framework of the Nigerian Petroleum Industry.

" The bill (Section 54) proposed that the Minister of State, Petroleum, Timipre Sylva and the Minister of Finance should incorporate the NNPC Limited and determine the assets and liabilities that will be assumed by the new entity and this was swiftly done .

"Another milestone is achieved by his leadership is the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano Natural Gas Pipeline is a pipeline planned to transport natural gas from Ajaokuta, in Kogi State to Kano, in Kano State, through several states and urban centers, as part of the Trans Nigeria Gas Pipeline. Construction of the AKKP commenced in July 2020

"The 614km-long natural gas pipeline, will result in the establishment of a connecting pipeline network between the eastern, western and northern regions of Nigeria.

"It also aims to create a steady and guaranteed gas supply network between the northern and southern parts of Nigeria by utilising the country’s widely available gas resources."

2023: APC's SAME-FAITH TICKET A SMOKESCREEN - DR.. TAFIDA
...Urges politicians to be more sensitive

A People's Democratic Party(PDP) chieftain, Dr. Jibril Tafida has carpeted the All Progressive Congress( APC) over same-faith ticket, describing the ruling party's candidate pairing as a smokescreen.

Dr. Tafida took a swipe at the APC's same-faith 2023 agenda as insensitive to the religious polarity of Nigeria, in his speech at the Annual Crusade and Fund-raising by the Christian Association of Nigeria ( CAN) in Kaduna at the weekend.

The opposition party chieftain who was also the PDP Electoral Panel Chairman for Akwa Ibom State bagged CAN's Peace Award for his contributions to harmonious relationship between adherents of Islam and their Christian neighbors in Kaduna.

While describing the CAN award as a testimony of his promotion of love and brotherhood between Muslims and their Christian neighbours, he added that Nigeria needs religious tolerance and harmony today more than ever before in the nation's history. He explained that it was necessary for adherents of all faiths to accept their diversity and guard their utterances, calling for the economic empowerment and full integration of youths into the Nigerian politics to balance the scales on the democratic space for a greater future. This scenario, he said, could only be achieved by having people who understand the true yearnings of the people being in charge of positions of democratic authority.

Turning to the heat generated by the APC's same-faith ticket in Kaduna State, Dr. Tafida hailed PDP's governorship candidate, Hon Isa Ashiru Kudan for his exemplary choice of a running mate devoid of the same-faith coloration.

"We must acknowledge the ability of Sarkin Bai of Zazzau, Alhaji Isa Ashiru and governorship candidate of the PDP for appreciating our diversity and for giving us a workable solution to our problems in Kaduna. He therefore deserves our love and support.

"It is also evident that the efforts and support of CAN both at national and local levels will help in ensuring that Nigerians have viable leadership in 2023", Tafida assured.

Berating the same-faith championed by the APC in Kaduna, Dr. Tafida noted that "Islam has taught us to be all-inclusive in dealing with people of different faiths, especially Christians. And it is worrisome that some politicians don't have this broadminded disposition of respecting adherents of other faiths".

He went on to say that same-faith ticket as promoted by "Abuja and Abuja politicians" is proof that they cannot be taken seriously because none of those in the forefront of "Muslim-Muslim ticket" is known to be championing a Muslim cause at any point in the political history of their respective communities.

"There is yet another class of politicians we need to be careful about and their 2023 campaign strategy. I mean politicians that could not give party leadership to the indigenes of a State, how can we trust then with 36 States of the federation? The Church must resist and reject politicians with this kind of divisive agenda", he advised.

He stated that Nigeria's secularist should not compromise on tha alter of political convenience, saying "politicians must therefore be sensitive to the feelings and aspirations of the people".

He then stressed: "Nigeria is a secular State and we must do everything to protect it, for peace and unity of the nation".

He then thanked CAN leadership for finding him worthy of consideration as awardee for the promotion of peace and unity.

MAINA DIDN'T JUMP BAIL AS ALLEGED; Eye witness reveal encounter

Being an investigative Journalist with a combined 27 years of experience, I always had the urge
to fully understand if those bandits around the Kaduna, zamfara, katsina and Sokoto axis were actually Nigerians or imported Mercenary bandits from Niger Republic or Chad. My quest
took me to sokoto, Kebbi and entered Niger Republic, through a town called Kamba where I
spent a night, so as to ask about the terrain.
Armed with my Passport, and with the help of vehicles that travel daily in between Nigeria and
Niger, we traveled almost the whole day to get to Niamey which was my first destination.
It was after I had secured a place to sleep, then I decided to visit any nearby clinic or hospital a quest that took me to the Military Hospital to see a Doctor due to the symptoms of Malaria that
had been over the last few days, been making me weak with pain in different joints of my body.
It was at the reception of the Military Hospital that I saw the famous Dr Abdulrasheed Maina with some aides. I approached and introduced myself where I realised that the two aides were
actually security officials from Nigeria. We got into talking about the situation in Nigeria while we
await the registratiprocesses.
As a freelance journalist, I was privy to most of the inner circle information regarding Dr Maina’s
travails and later got to know his health challenges, but the opportunity to see him physically
was mind blowing.
It was there I saw the referrals he got from a prominent hospital in Nigeria. We talked about the fact that we don’t have one single Hospital in Nigeria that has the equipment, Foreign doctors and genuine medicine to tackle simple ailments. They had fully registered him and called out his name to proceed for vital signs. I was to later on
meet with the Doctor on call after Maina had been fully admitted and inquired using our (Media)
technical skills to get credible information, and the doctor on call sat and told me that their
preliminary check up indicates that Maina was actually living with life threatening conditions which require him to undergo multiple surgeries that were dangerously degenerating.
If the public may recall, Maina was diagnosed with several life threatening ailments, tumors in multiple places, sudden Loss of hearing Cardiovascular issues and knee issues, from the
University of Abuja Teaching Hospital.
These serious life threatening conditions as i later found out had earlier been communicated to
the Authorities Concerned thus the assistance given him to travel.
This is someone who cannot walk unaided which gave rise to the urgent need for him to be fully checked and treated. The Tumors that are growing had some blood exiting his left ear, yet he
could not even be entertained by those concerned, which as I was to later to find out was the
reason he was advised to immediately travel and treat himself then return.

Lest I forget, Upon getting back to the reception i realized that his aides seemed to be looking
like they were in a hurry to leave for the Airport and return to Abuja, it was at that particular moment I fully realized that some powerful individuals must have flown him from Nigeria to Niger Republic for the urgent surgery due to his deteriorating health condition.

All these findings kept me curious and wanting to know more about this Man and what we have been seeing and hearing in the Nigerian Mainstream media. Upon confirmation, that he was offered to be
flown to either the military hospital in Chad or Niger Republic for a fast surgery, he opted to go
and be alive first before he could stand trial, a request he knew could never have been
approved due to the open biaise being shown to the public against him during his trial.
A plane was provided that transported him to Niger republic accordingly. Arriving at night, he
was taken to the hospital where i met him. I lurked around and found out that series of tests
were carried out on him in preparation for the surgery.

After spending three days, I decided to visit him at that hospital. On that fateful day the news in
Nigeria was agog with vituperations threatening fire and brimstorm on the distinguished Senator who
stood for him as surety. At that juncture, I wondered what Maina’s Lawyers were actually doing by allowing that to happen. On Maina's first day in court, the judge said " Registrar please advise the defendant to stop looking at me, and when his counsel further enquired why, the judge said
"because I have a wife and children, whom I have to protect". Lets Leave this my short investigation for some other time.
Upon getting the news of a warrant of arrest issued by the same judge on Maina, i
decided to speak to him about it, where he expressed shock and disappointment at what the Judge did knowing fully well that Maina is sick and and has been seeking for
lmedical attention even before he was arraigned. Facts available.
Dr Maina then made some calls and after the call, even though he was a free Man and could
easily have taken a flight out to anywhere, or seek shelter with the numerous Niger Republic politicians that were with him at the Hospital, but to my utter shock, Maina looked me in the eye and said that he will travel back to Nigeria without continuing with the surgery. I personally went with him to his hotel room where we talked at length and he
asked me to find out where the Niger Police Headquarters was, which i did. He packed up his bag and we all took off to the Police Headquarters to see the interpol department staff, where he introduced himself and waited for them to reach out to Nigeria. So I don’t know where the seemingly Intelligent Nigerian public got their distorted information that Maina actually ran to Niger with the intention of Jumping Bail. and even went ahead
to spread wrong information to other gullible Nigerians without taking the necessary
steps to confirm the truth.
I believe this might have happened because the distinguished Senator was remanded, not for
his fault but ostensibly to put pressure on Maina to go to court.
To roll back, during one of Dr Maina’s calls to Nigeria, while I was with him, I heard him insisting on going back to Nigeria and saying “Can anyone PinPoint to what I did wrong? They just want
to ridicule me thinking I will talk and expose the rot in the system, but unknown to them, it’s a
buried part of my life and I will never bring it back”
The op Government Functionaries whose names I will not mention that, actually advised him on phone to stay in Niger but coded, untill the uproar is over, really amazed me for being part of the same people castigating maina in the media glaringly, (Nigeria My Country) Am also glad
that Dr Maina refused to stay and opted to return to Nigeria.

The story went on and on even as I learnt that he was even declared wanted which was
unnecessary. I cry for Nigeria our Country. When are we going to get it right? After waking up from my slumber, i remembered the primary assignment that led me to travel in the first place, and that’s my quest and urge to find out more about the Bandits, but this urge
diminished due to my fear that all the data I collected before the start of that trip confirmed the conclusions so many Nigerians have.
The more we look as ordinary Nigerians, the less we understand, Thus my reason for lying low for a while and bringing this story out after a year so that I wouldn't be charged with obstruction of trial.

On my way home, this information continued to send shivers down my spine. So Maina didn't run to Niger Republic to evade justice, but heeded to advise of medical Consultants who felt his life was in danger.
What do they intend to achieve? Created trumped up Charges and worked it out with a willing judge just to keep him incarcerated and silenced completely or what? Only time shall reveal the truth. Some events in the world are better left for history, but it is ourresponsibility as citizens to open
up and tell the truth.

My personal conclusion based on confirmed facts available to me, is that of how gullible we are as a people to always fall into their trap.

Finally, to most Nigerians including myself whom before now castigated him anywhere discussions about him were brought, we can see the truth. I have all the records photos and
facts at my disposal, based on confirmed documents that Maina is indeed a National hero who sanitized the pension sector and recovered trillions of Naira for Nigeria. This was what endeared him to
Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR who worked with him
closely due to his exceptional performance in the recovery of funds and
restructuring the Pension Sector, and being the first to personally design the biometric database, currently in use and now suffering from it as a result.

My next quest is an investigation into where they kept all the Recoveries Maina carried out for Nigeria during this administration and the last one, which the former Minister of Finance and
coordinating Minister of the Economy (Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala) and the current Attorney General and
Minister of Justice of the Federation (Mr ABUBAKAR Malami SAN), both confirmed to the
National Assembly that Maina Made recoveries and some of the funds had been injected into the economy. I believe that Nigerians would like to know where the funds were kept and how the funds were expended. I also believe that, the Nigerian People would like to know the REAL WHOLE
TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH, about the pension scandal and the recoveries made with its accompanying political sabotage, persecution, and greed.

I must end this by asserting that such are the kinds of people that the Nigerian President should actually pardon compassionately in public interest and released from custody then reengaged once again to help in recovering funds for Nigeria to compliment the effort of the Minister of Justice in the recoveries made under his leadership.

My hope for this man now in detention is that he gets justice under a free and fair atmosphere as guaranteed by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. As for me, I have seen it all.

May God bless Nigeria.

Politics / Gombe 2023: A Response To Jamil I. Gwamna's Political Gambit -by Antonia J. by Feminews(m): 7:07pm On Oct 22, 2022
GOMBE 2023: A RESPONSE TO JAMIL I. GWAMNA'S POLITICAL GAMBIT

By Antonia J. Dadiya

Dear Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna

I can see that your physiological construct has changed. I am your fellow indigene of Gombe state, a settler like you with fresh memories of when your father sought asylum in Gombe, from Jos.
Sir, please take it easy with politics keeping in mind that Gombe state isn’t your personal estate. Your relevance is fast diminishing because you see politics as a do-or-die affair and as an end in itself making you totally living in delusion.
Recently, you were a spectre running from pillar to post, in the perverted assumption that you MUST impose your self on the state and within the party’s campaign structure.
Look at your political trajectory. You sent your political benefactor, late Governor Hashidu to an early grave, after a very dirty fight as a result of the height of your betrayal.
You were majorly instrumental to the misfortunes suffered by the PDP because you lost at the 2019 primaries election.
Early this year when you suddenly found your way back into the party, you shed crocodile tears and asked for forgiveness. You even swore to heaven that you will support any candidate that emerged after the 2022 primary elections if you lose.
For 5 days, you held meetings in Abuja with the party leadership and other stakeholders where you promised and swore to work with everyone and agreed to travel to Gombe.
Characteristically, you failed to show up, reneging, once again, on all that was agreed with you and yet, you are now running from pillar to post, causing disaffection in the party while your political associates, such as Walama, who deceived you, have left the party.
Ahmed Yayari, Binta Bello and Barr Idris Umar, your Co-travelers in this journey against the party’s interest (otherwise known as anti- party), are struggling to get the attention of the presidential candidate for the same juicy post you are hoping to get by undermining the party and its leadership at the state.
We really wonder how you intend to convince the presidential candidate and the party leadership to get such patronage while you caused the fortunes of the party to dwindle by campaigning for APC candidates across the state.
PDP, by God’s grace, will form government at both the national and state level in Gombe. Very soon everything about you will become old fashion.
So many people have contested elections and lost out in the past. They didn’t go mad. Nor did they undermine their parties and campaigned for positions as you and your co-travelers- Ahmed Yayari, Barr. Idris Umar & Hon. Binta Bello, do now.
The negative effect of your envy & vengeful struggles is showing on your appearance. This gives us, your fellow indigenes, a dire concern.
Sir, Gombe people are wise and politically conscious when it comes to ensuring they get good leadership. Your political mentor, Governor Hashidu lost the elections in 2003. Again, the People didn’t vote for PDP in 2019.
Now everyone is agreeable to ensure they bring back PDP because of the mismanagement of the resources of the state by Governor Inuwa. This is how resolute, the people of Gombe are in pursuance of good governance.
Truth be told, you should never have contested for the gubernatorial ticket. You never stood a chance given your antecedence of betrayal and mismanagement of resources.
Since the primaries, you only engaged in causing disaffection and destabilizing the party because you lost the primaries.
You voice out things during your so call thank you visit across the state, only a drowning life could.
You run around blackmailing the state party leader, sponsored unknown thugs to stage a protest against him, lied to and deceived the presidential candidate that you wanted to donate a support group office, meanwhile you mischievously called it a presidential campaign office, with 8 dead vehicles financed by Allajiyel, the closes business partner to Governor Inuwa of APC.
To further show your frustration, you went to the Northeast summit in Bauchi, with a banner, describing yourself as Gombe state coordinator of the Presidential Candidate. Alien in the party's approved campaign structure.
Your hype is very hilarious !!!
You witch hunt any politician who isn’t following your delusion and deceived the gullible ones, including Dr. Abubakar Ali Gombe, to follow you to your journey towards perdition in order to create an impression that you have their support.
You trivialize the virtues of honor in promises with your very dishonorable self.
Dear JIG. May you get over the defeat hangover that has kept you in the cold, making you bleat as if an inheritance of yours or destiny has been tampered with. What you are engaged in is no longer politics but an aimless villain.
Power comes from God and NO one else but Him alone.
The people you are hounding for NO reason, if they succeed in 2023, by His grace, One could only imagine what will happen to you.
This route you are taking with arrogance will only lead you to needless regret. You still have a little time to retract for the sake of your sanity and political future. You are already looking like an octogenarian in your late 50s.
Although you had a field day during the era of Governor Hashidu, Gombe state doesn’t belong to you.
Thanks to the new electoral act. This is NOT 2019. You can no longer harass electorate with boogy security at collation Centres. Sorry, By the way, there are NO longer collation centers.
“This election is about delivering your unit.” You can only be taken care of if you deliver your polling unit NOT by following the presidential candidate to rallies or by opening support group offices.
A word is enough for the wise.

Academics Kick Against N788bn NNPC Spent on Salaries, Entertainment,Legal Fees

... Urges FG to Scrap Company Immediately

Apparently worried about the increasing expenditure of Nigerian National Petroleum Company(NNPC) Limited, group of lecturers under aegis of Academics for Accountable Governance Group (AAGG) declared as unacceptable the situation where whooping amount of N788bn was spent on Salaries; Forex, Entertainment, Other expenses .

It also challenged NNPC Ltd to explain to Nigerians how it made a net profit of N674bn and spent N788.7 billion on salary, entertainment and other costs.

According to them, there is no place in the world, where a major oil and gas producing company would have its expenditure greater than income.

"It against this disturbing background that as a group of concerned Nigerians , we decided to join Kaduna State Governor ,Mal.Nasir El-Rufai ;the former Emir of Kano ,Alh. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to ask the federal government to immediately scrap and sell NNPC immediately before it becomes comatose .

The group, which disclosed this in a press statement jointly signed by the Coordinator; Professor Fahad Muhammad, Secretary, Dr. Ogundipe Ogunbiyi and Publicity Secretary,Professor Chuka Nwaneri, said it is economically illogical to continue to declare a 'mirage' of profit when expenditures get higher than incomes .

In the statement, the group which queried why the salary of staff kept rising without any productive activities in the refineries said, " The situation where salary spent shows that N236bn spent in 2021 is higher than the N212bn spent in 2020 ;and where Pension took N150bn, a decrease from the N182bn spent the previous year is beyond human comprehension .

Noting, "Most unfortunate is the huge emolument cost at a time when the company has been commercialized with experts expecting a downsize in staff."

While making reference to some media reports about the N81bn was spent on exchange loss, the cost of converting ioil earnings to local currency which rose by 100 per cent from the N42bn spent in 2020, the group said , "We consider it worrisome that NNPC wrote off N71bn for asset depreciation, allegedly spent N11bn on entertainment, blew N46bn on legal and professional fees, spent N390m on its directors with the officials spending N10bn on travels and most disturbing, is the N20bn it spent on fines and penalty.

"Overall, the company said it recorded over N6.4trillion income which was higher than the N3.7trn it made earlier. While it spent N5.3trn In 2021 as cost of sales of petroleum products, nnpc spent N3.6trn in 2020. "

However, they reiterated position Scrapping NNPC , especially that it's obvious that the company is longer viable and should sold and proceeds used to diversify the economy.

Breaking: Gombe PDP governorship candidate threatens to sue politicians behind his voice clone

The Gombe State 2023 governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Muhammad Jibrin Barde has threatened legal action against prominent Gombe politicians who were behind the cloning of his voice and spreading on social media.

It would be recalled that Barde has earlier raised alarm over alleged cloning of his voice through audio recording by politicians afraid of his growing popularity ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

Barde said the aim of the mischief makers was to pitch him against key members of PDP in the state in order to cause confusion and disharmony among united members of the party.

A statement on Friday by Barde Media Office said, "It has come to our attention that an audio is in circulation where the voice of Muhammad Jibrin Barde is cloned by some unscrupulous elements in order to create disaffection between himself and other leaders of the PDP.

"Everyone knows Mr. Barde holds and respect everyone in high esteem and regards even though they may have differed politically.

"We all know the respect and value to which Mr. Barde respects his and others parents, and therefore will not resort to such unguarded utterances.

"We regret the inconveniences the action of such unscrupulous elements may have caused everyone.

"We will like to appeal to our respected party elders and members accross the state to remain resolute in our pursuit of rescuing Gombe State and also hereby urged all to disregard the audio.

"It is on record that Barde is an accomplished banker and a businessman. He is a goal-getter, ambitious, daring but not a desperate politician.

"The governorship hopeful is set to take Gombe State to a new level of governance. He has equipped himself. He understands the peculiar needs of his people as he always feels their pulse.

"He is unhappy that his people have not gotten the best deal in the incumbent administration. All these have already spurred Barde to painstakingly build a blueprint that would guide his affairs in the state if elected.

Unlike some members of the political class who are known for many promises with no intention to fulfill them, Barde has modestly promised just three things to the good people of Gombe State. First, to be fair to all, keep Gombe’s trust intact and to be honest in all his dealings". The statement said.

Breaking: Kaduna APC blasts Timi Frank, demands retraction on alleged PDP rally attack

The All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State has debunked claims by Timi Frank that Senator Uba Sani, APC gubernatorial candidate has masterminded an unverifiable attack on a rally for the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in Kaduna.

A statement in response to Timi Frank’s allegations signed by Alhaji Salisu Tanko Wusono, APC’s Publicity Secretary in Kaduna State, described Frank as a professional hireling on a new assignment to complement his income as the so called Ambassador of United Liberation Movement for West Papua, to East Africa and the Middle East.

Wusono noted that the former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress(APC) is perfect for the hatchet job of running his mouth, going by his antecedent, on a matter that he is ill informed about.
"Indeed, the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has elected spokesmen at state and national levels, including those at the Presidential Campaign Council, as well as the battery of media aides that its presidential candidate parades.

"However, giving the *reputational damage that it may cause them, apart from possible litigation,* the party chose an unsavory character to carry its dubious message, which is laden with injurious falsehoods.

"In a statement that was widely published, Timi Frank claimed that Distinguished Senator Uba Sani and the Kaduna State Gubernatorial candidate of APC, sent thugs to disrupt PDP’s presidential rally, without an iota of proof. Significantly, Timi Frank was mis-briefed by his paymasters," he said.
He pointed out out that he Township Stadium venue of the so called rally was half empty last Monday to the utter embarrassment of PDP chieftains, in a state that has a former vice president, an ex governor and a two term senator, including former National Chairman of the party.

On the same day, he said, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Jagaban Borgu and APC presidential candidate, was in Kaduna to interact with Northern Leaders at Arewa House.

"All roads led to Arewa House as APC supporters, PDP die-hards and non partisan citizens of Kaduna State trooped to hear Tinubu’s plans for the North when he becomes President of Nigeria by the Grace of God and the people’s votes.
"Consequently, the PDP presidential rally was reduced to a Town Hall meeting and to cover this embarrassment, the party alleged that thugs attacked their members at Ranchers Bees stadium," he said.

"However, in a bid to set the records straight and clear his name, and APC’s integrity, Timi Frank will hear from our lawyers in due course, if he does not retract that libelous statement and offer an unreserved apology to our Gubernatorial candidate and our party", Wusono sternly warned.

Group Blasts El-Rufai, Sanusi over 'Careless Outbursts' on Scrapping of NNPC

...Says criticism out of tune with present day realities

Kaduna based Political group, Buhari Votes Guard and Awareness (BVGA) has replied the the 14th Emir of Kano ,Alh. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and Governor of Kaduna State, Mal. Nasir El-Rufai on what it described as 'careless outbursts' over scrapping of the NNPC following alleged abysmal performance over the years.

It also said the recent media statements credited to the former Emir and Governor of Kaduna State are clear evidence that they have lost touch with realities of economic development and growth.

Address journalists today at his Abuja office on President Muhammadu records of performance, the National Coordinator of the Group ,Dr. Kailani Muhammad said, "We are shocked that even when the President Muhammadu Buhari led government has provided the needed impetus for NNPC to become effective through the enactment of Petroleum Industry Act PIA, a sitting Governor has decided to criticize the measure and calling for the scrap of NNPC.

According to him, it is obvious that El-Rufai's frustration over the achievements of NNPC is glaring , following its transformation to a limited liability company , because it's no longer business as usual where governors would run to the Federal Government just to receive monthly grant without coming up with any initiative that would add value to their states .

Dr. Kailani who expressed disatisfaction with with the Governor's ill-timed position , stressed,"We can authoritatively conclude that El-Rufai has lost tune with present day.Adding , "the governor would have concentrated on state development rather than focussing on NNPC just with the aim of seeing it's pitfalls.

"Someone who has failed to recognize that the global economic meltdown has grossly impacted on NNPC and coupled with oil theft in the Niger Delta region which the Mele Kyari administration is fighting to halt and other factors have adverse effect on the performance of the organization."

While accepting that there are challenges facing the oil and gas sectors across the world , he said, "Despite this ,the management under a prudent and efficient Group Managing Director, Malam Mele Kolo Kyari has performed creditably well to spearhead the organization to greater success.

Speaking on the former Emir Sanusi's comments , the group said,"The records put forward by Malam Sanusi about the daily consumption of fuel as released by the NNPC shows how he was unscientific in his approach.

Noting,"He has forgotten the daily increase of fuel consumption by the over 10million vehicles, the over one million people in a number of house holds in Ondo State that were cut off from electricity supply, the users of grinding machines, the tricycle users, standby generators users and a number of other various sources that relied on fuel for their daily activities.

"When Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was appointed Emir of Kano by the then Governor of Kano State, Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, very few people rejoiced.

"But when he was dethroned by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, many people were happy that he was ousted. The reason was not far fetched. Sanusi who was to serve as the symbol of the historic traditional institution, was grossly unable to understand and keep to the ettiquetes of the traditional institution. He deeply felt that he was very intelligent, better than everyone and hence began to challenge the authority of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

"Sanusi always feel he is one of the most intelligent people in the country and of course smartest of all. But people are so apathetic to his rise and fall and that's why I wasn't surprise when he was quoted as saying that, he felt sorry for the next President of Nigeria based on what he termed as poor economy, insecurity and other challenges bedeviling the country."

"For us ,NNPC under Buhari led administration has be transformed and should be appreciated by persons within and outside corridors of power."

Nigerian Forum for Good Governance(NFGG) has thrown its weight behind the positions of the 14th Emir of Kano ,Alh. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and Governor of Kaduna State, Mal. Nasir El-Rufai on scrapping of the NNPC following its abysmal performance over the years.

According to the group, the National oil company has become more of burden than an asset for economic growth and development.

In a statement jointly signed by the Coordinator and Secretary of the Nigerian Forum for Good Governance; Comrade Mukhtar Ahmed Funtua, Coordinator and Comrade Reuben Joseph Kajang the group said, selling of NNPC is the best option to cut off government's dependence on oil and develop other sectors of the economy.

The group also in the statement titled: "NNPC is A Burden that Must Be Scrapped and Sold Entirely", said held that as concerned Nigerians with focus on good governance across all tiers of government and sectors of the economy, it totally agreed with Sanusi on the position that the national oil has become a '"money pit rather than a cash cow", considering the fact that the four refineries that were more or less comatose couldn't meet up the purpose for which they were established .

"We equally concur with Governor of Kaduna State, Mal Nasir El-Rufai on his submission that Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has become a burden and big problem to Nigeria." It added .

On its resolve to mobilise Civil Society Organizations across Nigeria to join the conversation to "Kill NNPC" because, it is no longer a profit making business for government and had outstayed relevance as a public company, it said ,"We are fully prepared to support all Nigerians who have raised their voices in either to unbundle, sell or privatized."

The statement further reads: "We are saddened that besides massive stealing of our crude oil, NNPC has not been able make profit . It is laughable that as one of major producers of crude in the world ,we have continued to import refined fuel while export crude oil. It also shameful that for over 40 years , it was unable to declare a Profit After Tax , until recently when it announced concocted a sum of 674 billion for the 2021 financial year.

"We make bold to say that NNPC under the President Muhammad Buhari led administration is a leaking basket for its inability to fix any of the four refineries that is apparently the only unproductive organisation ,yet maintained full complimentary workforce on its payroll.

"This for us, is adjudged foolhardy and detrimental to the economy . Worst still , It is one of the very few public companies discovered that has refused to be accountable to even the government that set it up.

"We reiterate our stand that not only the NNPC that needs to be sold out, all the refineries should be sold out to individuals for efficiency and stop the spending billions of naira on paying salaries of redundant staff and maintaining non-functional refineries

"It is overt fraud to complacently settle for importation of refined petroleum product and paying heavy subsidy and these must be discontinued before the next administration."

However, while noting that it acknowledge the idea of commercialization,it discovered that nothing per se has changed in the sector since July 2022. Noting that, " Even with commendable efforts of the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Mal. Mele Kyari's efforts to transform the company, it has failed."

According to the group, the federal government has no reason to still be in the oil and gas sector, especially that several governments have shown lack of capacity to revive and refloat it for profit purposes.

" For these reasons ,we align with several economists who have submitted that Government should as a matter of urgency through transparent bidding that will be handled by the World Bank sell off all its investment in the oil sector and the proceeds of the sale invested in Human Capital Development and the country's sovereign wealth fund.

"By so doing, we will be able to save the country hundreds of billions of dollars due to the unabated depreciation in the oil industry and generate huge revenues that can be invested in preparing Nigeria and Nigerians for a world after Oil.

"Although, there are fears in certain quarters that government will cease to make revenues from oil if it sells the NNPC, It is not true as government will still continue to make revenues from the oil companies through royalties and petroleum profit tax after these companies are sold.

"What it will forfeit is production sharing from the Joint Venture companies that would have been sold off. And savings will be made form selling off the loss making arms of NNPC that constitute a huge drain pipe in the coffers of the nation. With the selling of NNPC government can now focus mainly on the generation of taxes to meet it’s financial needs."

Mele Kyari's National Award'll Encourage Outstanding Leaders to Work Harder- Pan-Nigeria Professionals

Group under umbrella of Pan Nigeria Professionals (PNP)said the conferment of National Award on Mal. Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) will no doubt encourage all persons holding public office and leaders that outstanding performance would be rewarded .

Kyari was decorated with the award for the category of Officer of the Federal Republic(OFR) alongside 447 Nigerians and friends of the country at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.

The group which described the honour as "well deserved" said it is high time government at all levels identified outstanding leaders and reward them for hard work.

The Pan Nigerian Professionals, which stated this in a Statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. Yusuf Ahmadu Danbatta, said the honour will no doubt encourage the NNPC boss who ,in few years in office has transformed NNPC into a profit making organization.

According to the group , the increase in the national crude oil reserves to achieve the 40,000 billion barrel target through focus and commitment; efforts to revive refineries and decision to collaborate with relevant security agencies to clamp saboteurs are enough reasons for the award .

While explaining reasons it singled out Mele Kyari for commendation, the group stated,"We are particularly impressed that for the first time in the history of NNPC, the company declared profit, which Kyari achieved through the area of financial transparency via the audited financial statements of the NNPC LTD.

" The decision to make public the Corporation’s Monthly Financial & Operations Reports (MFOR) in line with his Transparency Accountability and Performance Excellence(TAPE) vision placed NNPC as the only national oil company that publishes its financial and operations reports monthly globally.

"We decided to also identify with Kyari on this occasion for making frantic efforts to tackle the problem scarcity via importation of huge quantity of petrol that bridged the supply gap created with normalcy returning and incessant scarcity disappeared.

"His efforts to fight oil theft has yielded results as disclosed during the Senate’s joint committees on Petroleum (Upstream and Downstream) and Gas, that "within six weeks, 395 illegal refineries have been deactivated, 274 reservoirs destroyed, 1,561 metal tanks destroyed, 49 trucks seized and a 4-kilometres illegal oil connection line from Forcados Terminal into the sea – which had been in operation undetected for nine years – detected."

" As professionals,we appreciated that against all odds ,he was able to champion reforms in the upstream sector, sustaining oil output, boosting its subsidiary, implementing the National Gas Expansion project, AKK pipeline project, NLNG Train 7 FID, facilitating power projects, efficient crude oil lifting contract and ultimately instilling transparency in the corporation .

The group equally commended the President for recognizing Nigerians who have worked hard to put the country back on the lane of progress and development .

Group under umbrella of Pan Nigeria Professionals (PNP) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for coffering the Honours of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) on the Mallam Mele Kyari, the Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Company and now the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd).

President Muhammadu Buhari today presented national honours to 447 Nigerians and friends of the country at the International Conference Centre in Abuja .

The group which described the honour as "well deserved" said it is timely and apt considering the manner Kyari has deployed administrative prowess to reform NNPC Ltd .

The Pan Nigerian Professionals, who stated this is a Statement signed by its Chairman , Dr. Yusuf Ahmadu Danbatta, said the honour will no doubt encourage the NNPC Ltd boss who , "In few years into his stewardship made significant increase to the national crude oil reserves to achieve the 40,000 billion barrel target through focus and commitment" to do more .

The GMD's efforts to revive refineries and decision to collaborate with relevant security agencies to clamp saboteurs are part of reasons he has achieved great feat in turning around fortunes of NNPC Ltd .

In the statement, the group however said it singled out Mele Kyari for commendation because ; "For the first time in the history of NNPC, the company made and declared profit, which Kyari achieved through the area of financial transparency via the audited financial statements of the NNPC LTD, with the Company recording its first ever profit in its 44 years history.

" The decision to make public the Corporation’s Monthly Financial & Operations Reports (MFOR) in line with his TAPE vision was part of reasons NNPC LTD was placed as the only national oil company that publishes its financial and operations reports monthly globally.

"We decided to also identify with Kyari on this occasion for making frantic efforts to tackle the problem scarcity via importation of huge quantity of petrol that bridged the supply gap created with normalcy returning and incessant scarcity disappeared.

" As group professionals in Nigeria we are happy that it was under his leadership that he Petroleum Industry Act provides for the transitioning of the NNPC into a fully commercial entity, a Limited Liability Company incorporated under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA), known as the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd.

"Against all odds ,he was able to champion reforms in the upstream sector, sustaining oil output, boosting its subsidiary, implementing the National Gas Expansion project, AKK pipeline project, NLNG Train 7 FID, facilitating power projects, efficient crude oil lifting contract and ultimately instilling transparency in the corporation with introduction of Transparency Accountability and Performance Excellence(TAPE) in the Industry.

The group equally commended the President for recognizing Nigerians who have worked hard to put the country back on the lane of progress and development .

Maulud: Uba Sani urges prayer to sustain security improvement

From Nasir Dambatta, Regional Editor in Kaduna

The Senator representing Kaduna Central Uba Sani has called for prayers to sustain security improvement witnessed in recent times as Muslims mark Eid el-Maulud across Nigeria.

The lawmaker urged the people to devote this Eid el-Maulud festivities to praying for the sustenance of the successes that security agencies have been recording against terrorism even though the country is still grappling with insecurity.

Senator Uba Sani, in his Eid el-Maulud message prayed to Almighty Allah to give the nation’s leaders and security agencies the wisdom, strength and courage to prosecute the terrorism battle to its end, so that peace and security return to our country.

The governorship flagbearer also noted that as the 2023 governorship elections draw closer, he has continued to receive endorsements from critical stakeholders across the State, adding that APC is sure of victory to take Kaduna State to higher heights.

“I wish my esteemed Muslim brothers and sisters in Nigeria and across the globe joyous and spiritually uplifting Eid el-Maulud celebrations. We thank Almighty Allah for making us see this glorious day, a day set aside to celebrate the birth of our dear Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him).

“As we mark this day, let us remember, cherish and imbibe the virtues Prophet Muhammad (SAW) exemplified. The Prophet exemplified the virtues of patience, love, tolerance and perseverance. He devoted his life to building understanding among people. While pursuing his faith, He had respect for other people’s faiths. His approach and disposition enhanced the search for peace and security.

“Our dear country is still grappling with insecurity. Enemies of the state and other criminal elements have been carrying out acts of destabilization and sabotage against our country and its people. Because of their activities, movement around the country has been difficult and there is the possibility of increased food insecurity. But I am happy to note that our security agencies have risen to the challenge. They have taken the battle to the criminals and have chalked up success after success. The terrorists are in retreat.
“I, therefore, urge our people to devote this Eid el-Maulud celebration to prayers for the sustenance of the successes that our security forces have been recording against these murderous elements. May the Almighty Allah give our leaders and security agencies the wisdom, strength and courage to prosecute this battle to its end. May peace and security return to our country. May the 2023 elections be a watershed in the annals of our country.
“I pray fervently for peace and security in our dear Kaduna State. Our security agencies have substantially degraded the criminal elements in our state. But more work needs to be done. We must continue to support and pray for our security forces so that they can totally uproot these enemies of the people.

“As the 2023 governorship elections draw closer, I have continued to receive endorsements from critical stakeholders. My campaigns have gained traction. We are confident that with the people and Almighty Allah on our side, victory is assured. Our mission is clear: to take Kaduna State to higher heights. If given the mandate by the people, we shall effectively and efficiently execute our contract with the people. Join us on this journey that will unlock new opportunities for our dear state and people,” Senator Uba Sani noted in the Maulud message

62nd Anniversary: Time to renew our faith in Nigeria - Uba Sani

The Kaduna State APC 2023 governorship flagbearer, Senator Uba Sani has described Nigeria's journey to nationhood in the last 62 years as one of mixed bag of remarkable achievements and missed opportunities, notwithstanding that "the promise of Independence has largely been unmet".

In a media statement to make Nigeria's 62nd Independence Anniversary on Saturday, the Senator hailed Nigerians for their persistence in prayers for which the almighty God " is seeing us through difficult and challenging times".

Uba Sani, who also chairs the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions noted that one of Nigeria's biggest achievements is that "we are still together despite the threats of disintegration", adding that " the Nigetian people have displayed their resilience and willingness to remain within the Nigerian nation. "But we must frontally address issues that are pulling our people apart", he advised.

The lawmaker further advised that Nigeria must make deliberate efforts to run inclusive administrations that "would give our people and all parts of the country a sense of belonging" so as to "build a country where justice, equity and fairness are guaranteed".

Turning to the challenges of insecurity, he said it was one of the factors helping to make national integration more of a pipe dream, lamenting that Nigerians were confined to their localities, while warning that " without moving from one place to another, interaction would not take place, thereby hindering the building of mutual understanding. He explained that through commerce, the people have built trust, confidence and understanding. He therefore urged a degrading of " the criminal elements in our midst, so that our people can have a new lease of life".

He then said: "As we celebrate this Independence anniversary, we must prioritise the interest and concerns of the Nigerian youths. The future of the youths must not be toyed with. The Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) must resolve their disagreements without further delay. Nigerian children must return to tertiary institutions and resume their studies. Any further waste of time may spell disaster for the country.

"I call on my fellow compatriots to renew their faith in Nigeria. Our difficulties and challenges are not insurmountable. We can get around them by supporting governments at all levels with useful advice and fully contributing our quota. Outsiders cannot do it for us. We must pull our energies, time and resources together to reinvent and reenergize our country. It is a collective task that must be done", he stressed.

"I salute the good people of Kaduna State on this auspicious occasion. You have remained strong and focused despite challenges. I am in the Kaduna State governorship race to make a difference. If given your mandate, I will run a purposeful, progressive, people - centered administration. It will be impact driven, open and accountable governance. Join us as we take Kaduna State to higher heights", Senator Uba sani stated.

Politics / Why PDP Will Take Back Nigeria In 2023 Elections- Dr. Tafida by Feminews(m): 7:20am On Sep 30, 2022
Why PDP will take back Nigeria in 2023 elections- Dr. Tafida

Dr. Jibril Tafida was a one-time Chairman of PDP Electoral Panel during the era of chief Olusegun Obasanjo as Nigeria's President . Prior to that, he was Vice Chairman of Kaduna North Local Government Council. He is also an entrepreneur and philanthropist.*

In this interview with newsmen in Kaduna, he bares his mind on his return to the PDP after a brief stay in the APC prior to the 2023 presidential primaries, the fate of his presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and the party's governorship candidate - Hon Isa Ashiru Kudan as the Kaduna State governorship candidate saying the duo will win both the presidential and governorship seats in 2023. Excerpts*

Reports recently showed that you returned to PDP, what are the reasons for leaving APC after such a short while?

Tafida : Well, I joined APC because of our political leader Senator Godswill had contested for the position of President under the platform of APC and ideally we have had to joined him and support him but since he had stepped down for Asiwaju I had no option than to come back to my party the PDP and to contribute my quota for the success of the party, ahead of the next coming election.

What was your experience during your short stay in APC?

I believe there are clear difference between my old and new party in many ways; both in terms of internal democracy and party management. I haven't worked with the party at the management level, but the little I know is that there are things that need to be done in terms of unity.

Many Nigerians are still asking the question as to why Akpabio would step down for Bola Tinubu? Why did he?

What I know is that there was pressure on Senator Akpabio to step down, not only for Tinubu but other aspirants too. The decision to step down was at the last minute, before the convention. Most of us were set and ready for the proceess to start when we got the information that our candidate, Senator Akpabio was stepping down. Despite this unexpected development we believe it was in the best of intentions. But I still want to tell you that we would have won if he was not begged to step down.

But some are saying that speech was not enough as a support to Tinubu since you did not ask your dalegates to vote for Tinubu?

Look, without our support he wouldn't have won. We did ask our supporters and all our delegates to vote for Tinubu. immediately after the announcement we went round to inform all the delegates that agreed to vote for us to support the Asiwaju. The record is there and I believe the APC presidential candidate is aware.

How do you think you would have won the primary?

It was clear. We had the best campaign network in the last convention. We actually knew the states that were ready to vote for us and those that were with us before our candidate was begged to step down. Our candidate was prepared and ready but you propose and God disposes. But the outcome was not what we expected.

Was there any change, like a switching of loyalty by people who were with you in the beginning, you can remember if this had happened?

The challenge was that many people were not sincere and therefore not trustworthy. It was surprising for me to see the calibre of people I saw, telling lies just to collect money. Our people have lost value. They don't have respect. People can do anything because of money. Like any other campaign organization we had our share of problems and challenges but we thank God for everything.

You left APC when someone you are close to is campainging to become Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani?

First I don't see the connection between my returning back to PDP and that of Uba Sani's aspiration. We have never been on a same political platform in our history of political participation. Uba Sani is a Capitalist while I'm not( laughter). He believes in changing position and friends and I don't. I dedicated my life to serve my people and to change their lives from the little I have, with the hope that Allah will reward us. Uba Sani contested many elections in the past and I only participated in one because of my nature of minding my business, but I wish him well. I will be happy if he becomes our governor but the people need to do more in managing him.

No body would have thought you are not supporting Senator Uba Sani, considering your years of relationship?

I told you we are two different people. I don't just go into something that I don't believe in, no matter our relationship. The relationship you are talking about is that of the struggle and nothing more. If I were to open up to you, the struggle was a sham - nothing to write home about. I laugh sometimes when heard any of us talking about the struggle, because there is nothing to say. Allah gives power to whom He whishes and I wish him well.

What are your responsibities in PDP now?

I'm a committed member, contributing my quota in moving the party forward. Since my return to the PDP, I have been engaged with a lot of meetings and consultations. God willing, PDP will have victory in the forthcoming election. We are working hard to see that power returns to PDP by 2023.

Some people are wondering whether Hon Ashiru Isa Kudan will win the Kaduna governorship election or not, because of the new, growing influence of Labour Party(LP) in Southern Kaduna. What is your candid opinion?

Well, it took a lot of consultations before the support for Honorable Isa Ashiru to emerge as Kaduna's 2023 PDP candidate. Most importantly, the Labour Party, which is funded by the APC to confuse voters in a traditional PDP territory, will fail to deliver on the APC assignment. Everyone knows that the Labour Party woke up to the challenge of seeking for supporters so late into the 2023 campaigns because it was an APC agenda to politically disorganize Southern Kaduna because of the fear of Honorable Isa Ashiru.

We are confident that both the stooges of the APC agenda for Southeen Kaduna and their financiers in the ruling party will be shamed at the end of the day because Kaduna voters are wiser now. Honorable Ashiru is a grassroots politician with plenty of goodwill; and so, any attempt to rig him out by trying to divide Southern Kaduna voters fail, definitely.

Atiku's hope for votes in the Southeast is now the subject serious debate because the supporters of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the NNPP are expanding. Is the PDP and its presidential candidate - Atiku Abubakar not unsettled by this?

Like I said earlier, we, in the PDP are completely unruffled by Kwankwaso's NNPP and Labour party's Obi so-called 2023 campaigns because we know they are part of the rented actors of the APC at the national level.

The game plan of the APC is to see whether hiring people under the Laboir Party will hopefully split votes of the PDP in her stronghold of the Southeast. This too, will fail woefully. And let me say this: Atiku has the best structure in Nigeria today and voters goodwill because he has come a long way in setting up the best structure, dating back to the time NRC presidential aspirant - the late General Shehu Musa Yaradua, a democrat who made special name in Nigeria's political history. He has vast knowledge of governance and economy, a friend of the forces of democracy in Nigeria. It is a huge mistake to underrate Atiku's sphere of political influence in Nigeria today, to be very frank.

Emefiele Has Failed to Demonstrate Competence ,Deserves to Be Fired - Kailani

Apparently worried by the dwindling fortune of the naira, group under aegis of Network for Election Education, Sensitization and Awareness want President Muhammadu Buhari to fire the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emeifele.

According to the group, Emefiele has failed to demonstrate competence to save the nation’s currency from further devaluation, making life so difficult to the common man.

It insisted that President Buhari should show him way out for his ineptitude, inefficiency and ineffective handling of the apex bank.

Addressing journalists in Kaduna on State of the nation ahead of the 2023 general elections , the National Chairman of Network for Election Education, Sensitization and Awareness Engineer(Dr.) Kailani Muhammad said the management of the currency under the watch of Godwin Emiefele, is to say the least disgusting.

Kailani who, expressed anger over the inability of the CBN Governor to find solutions to the problem , said the situation is becoming unbearable to the common man

For him, it is unacceptable that the official exchange rate of Naira to a dollar now at above N400, while in the parallel market it reached up to N700 and heading towards N1,000 so rapidly

He however, commended the Senate for taking measure to address the problem .His words: "It is a welcome development that the Senate has moved positively to whittle down the powers of the CBN Governor by revisiting the law that established the Apex Bank.

"Now that the Senate has taken up the issue appropriately by moving to amend the law establishing the apex bank, Emeifele should either shape up or ship out honourably."

"He has apparently failed to rise to the challenges of his office. Rather than focus on making the nation’s currency strong in the global economy, he regrettably, at a time became so partisan politically by wanting to become the next president and was very unmindful of his responsibility as the head of the nation’s apex bank.
