Hello guys, please I am filling a application form for a master degree in a University in the Maryland US.. while filling the form I was asked if I would stay in the school hostel or I have a place to stay aside from the school hostel, actually I have no intention of staying in the school hostel. Am now confused if am to just state it there that am not staying in the school hostel or not….

Would appreciate it anyone here can advise me on what to do.

Good afternoon friends, I am literally confused on what to do.

My story goes thus:

My parents are currently in the USA on a B1/B2 visa and I am filling my DS 160 for my F1 visa interview which will take place in June. My parents are likely to be back before my interview, so I do not know if I should bother with filling in that section that my parents are in the US since they would be in Nigeria at that time of my interview.

Also, I was denied visa on January 06, 2021 and during this period, my brother got married to a US citizen in Nigeria and they were still in Nigeria when I filled my DS160, applied for visa and went for my interview. Now, he is currently in the US with his wife, I automatically now have a sibling in the US. How do I present this to the consular officer? Should I bother filling in my form that I have a sibling there or just leave it that I do not, so that it would correspond to what I filled previously in January?

I hopefully look forward to your opinions.

Hello everyone! Please is it okay to go into a masters program without funding or assistantship? I was told by my coordinator that hourly student employment or work study employment may be an option. The total cost of the program is $26,766 annually. What's your take on this? Thanks

Thank you for your response. The children are actually three but a family of five. I get your point, is the reason why the spouse also wants to follow in order to provide support for the wife while her program is ongoing.

It's not an issue of oil on your head, it's practical reality. Yes you studied at a top Nigerian school with scholarships - the key here is the school was in YOUR country, where you are a citizen. I doubt the same scholarship would have been available to a foreign student from Kenya, and I'm very sure it's not because the foreign student had no oil.

It is likely that schools in the US would reserve scholarships in the liberal arts to US citizens and residents. Most scholarships you may read of here are largely in the sciences. I don't see a lot of those in the arts unless you are a prodigious talent.

But don't let that deter you from searching.

Please can we all contribute to this please I think someone had something similar to this last two years on this thread , I received my i-20 for the fall semester yesterday and this was what I was seeing in the i-20, at the left hand side tuition fees and living expenses altogether is $22,300 , at the right hand side of the i-20 students funding for 9 months, personal funds $0 , funds coming from the school $0, Father $55,000 because father was used as the sponsor. This actually means that the school calculated the SOA of my father and then put $55,000 there, please aren't you seeing this as a problem and that this might confuse the VO, since the amount in both sides are different? Please anyone with similar experience or that have idea of what I am talking about can contribute. Oga @fairheart and Co please what is your take on this. For instance, the name on my international passport is ABCDE, while the name on my degree certificate is ABCDF.

Apparently you were charged 25k cos that was what is chargeable for the MBA u first applied for. As per what courses are available under academic?
