Now as a business man myself I'll offer my 2 cents towards this price reflection with respect to the behavior of this dollar(up and down movement). First of all business is a profit and loss thing. If you think you can only be making profits in business no matter how small, then you my friend is not ready for business. There's no business model built like that. There's a saying that if you don't throw away, You can't pick up. Let me give an instance with my own business. I'm into supply chain. During the price fluctuations there was a business I'm supposed to break even at ₦95, make a little profit at ₦110. To make it clearer I bought these items for ₦2.4M(at ₦120 per item) when the dollar was bullish. As we speak those items are ₦80 per item because the naira is rebounding. Now what is my loss? ₦40x2000=₦80,000. This is a business I'm supposed to be checking my profit but here I am checking my losses.
However I understand one thing. CASH IS KING!. I sold off what I had Took the money and bought more stock now at cheaper rate. My business people I believe we have seen the best of Naira performance. If I have to sell again at presiding rates I'll make small profits of course not compared to my loss. I'll buy again then make other profit and in no time I'll recover my loss. This is 1000% guaranteed. But the man that holds unto his stock because he bought at inflated price due to naira performance against USD. You stay with your stock hoping naira/USD does magic. You're cash strapped. You're illiquid. Listen again when money is immobile it's losing value.(Google up). Now I say this with a sincerity of heart. Not to make you all lose your hard earned money. This country is too hard to lose any penny now, but it is what it is. Sell what you have now, I believe if you buy with USD or RMB both are cheaper now. You buy at a cheaper rate now and sell at presiding rates and that's how you recover your losses. It's a matter of time. But how can you recover when you have no cash because you hold on to your stock Again it's my two cents I'm offering and not forcing anyone to follow it. Na food for thought my people. Peace. 🕊️

Properties / Re: Journey To Building My Two Bedroom Apartment by Franky826: 12:03am On Oct 09, 2022
Bahamas95:
Honestly I don't understand why someone would build a two bedroom apartment as his personal house. Why not just make it three? The difference won't be much instead of feeling uncomfortable in your own apartment.

You can share same room with your wife while the remaining two for the children with male and female occupying their different rooms.....What if you have visitors where would they stay? Share same room with your children? I don't like that arrangement.

Just my opinion sha.

I like how you ended it with just your opinion.
When you're on a budget, you'll understand even one bedroom flat is a luxury and not easy to build in present day Nigeria. Everyone, i mean everyone is on a budget. If not we all know what's good.
Everyone will build and own mansions.

Thank you Genius43. Turns out I was the author of my problem. So the poor picture quality I was experiencing was a result of the camera glass and front screen glass which were more like plastic with hazy colur finish. I installed them before using the phone. Gosh! I was at the point of giving this baby out cos it was driving me crazy already. Truly the camera is amazing now and I'm finally enjoying my phone. Thank you bro grin

Absolute hoax ... The few available houses will be shared and allocated to the ruling elites, which will later be resale.

yes i haven't built a house before and i dont intend building one any time soon because of personal reasons, me and my friend spoke at lenght, and he said the roofing is going to be a normal roofing aluminium, no parafet, no pop but pvc, and all the floors will be tiled and not cement floor for that amount and i believed him because he is a professional and one of the best in warri here because in life information is power

Information is power? What about experience?
Anyways you affirmed 70% of what I was saying. All the best.

i thought as much you are not in the country and so somebody here is taking care of the project i called an old classmate who is a builder because am curious and he told me 10 million will build a 3 flat of 2 bedroom each and he said minus the money spent on land, that the 10 million naira is for building only, so bros shine your eye you are being played, nobody spends 9 million naira on a 3 bedroom bungalow, do an independent investigation and dont believe everything they tell you

Lol. From the way you're saying this i can notice you haven't built before.
Stop calling your classmates, try building bro. You'll be shocked how that 9 million will vanish (and that's on free land o).

Unless you want to do normal PVC ceiling and not POP normal cement floor not floor tiles and wall tiles, and galvanized zinc( Cameroun zinc) for roofing, with other small ways to cut costs. Depends on your finishing taste.
Then maybe 6.5-7m can complete your work and that's without furnishings.

I got a contractor to install a transformer at a remote location in Rivers state. A small work to relieve an existing transformer in a village.

Second day at work Licence Electrical Contractors task force came all the way from Port Harcourt to the site to arrest me and stop the work for not settling them then which is 20k.
But penalty is going to be 100k.

Who tipped them was the most puzzling situation of my being. Alas, it was my lead lineman because of 20% commission he will get from the default fine I have to pay from the association.

I dropped him immediately and changed crew after payment.

You want to solve one problem in this country, you end up creating another one.
Sorry dear

Kai, Nigerian artisans could be something else even when you are trying to support them outside the work.

The site supervisor I trusted so much doctored the list of items needed for electrical piping and cabling. The total cost given by the electrician was 750k but my supervisor sent a total cost of N1.550m for the job as he told them not to communicate with me as he brought them.

I came to site and didn't see the electrician. Called him but he didn't pick. He later called me and told me that he had left the job. I asked why and he said he fought with my site supervisor. I asked what caused the fight. He said my supervisor have not given him his complete money in the previous piping work he did.

It was there that he told me to ignore the quote of N1.1550m given to me by my site supervisor and that it won't cost us up to 700k to finish what we wanted to do. The electrician told me that my site engineer told him that he wanted to make much money from this project because he wanted to travel out of the country with his newly married wife.

Note that I was even the one that gave him money to travel to his village and complete marriage rites on the lady's head as he has been living with her for more than one year.

My people, trusting those people below the economic ladder in this country is nearly impossible.

Na their way.

On a 3 bedroom flat, roof measurements were originally 274m². Contractor said it was 474m².
Money has been paid already and roofing completed after it was discovered.
On the day for account and reconciliation, we hired another carpenter to do the measurements of the roofing before the contractor came.
He came and when asked he quoted same 474m². We said okay we doubt it so we came with our own carpenter to measure the roof.

Ọmọ as our own carpenter wanted to climb the roof na so oga contractor break bottle o. Said if carpenter climb roof or dared put a tape on his work he'll stab him to death.
Funny enough this contractor is a close person of ours.
Na so work take stop and we had to path ways with him.
Metcoppo sheets then was ₦2050 for .45mm guage. ₦2050x200= ₦410,000.
Fear these people look bros!
