I was thinking VFS Abuja, is that more reliable?
And also how do I go about it. Please are there any threads for that with the prices. Thanks.

Abuja is better but if I were you, I'd send to Accra or Niamey VFS. You can easily make payments via Ecobank. You won't spend more than N20,000 to send it and it'll be worth the investment for your own mental health. If sending it outside the country is impossible, then settle for Abuja but if you don't want to blame your village people, avoid Lagos VFS cheesy grin.

Canada Visa Office = IRCC right? They are even confusing me

Yes. CVO or Canada Visa Office is the IRCC office inside the embassy. CVAC or Canada Visa Application Center is the VFS office.

Same here. Very confusing. No change in status yet

VFS circus! Some are getting changes in their IRCC statuses but no update from VFS. Others are getting updates from VFS but no changes in their IRCC status. I really hope that VFS is not mixing things up.

Thanks oooo smiley

With this latest development, does it signify that IRCC has sent back my Passport to VFS

Cos VFS number ain't going , Busy, Not Allocated sad
or
is there any other communication channel one can use to reach out to them?

Since I got the 3rd mail from them on the Nov 18, there av bin no further communication from VFS

Attached is the response I do get for the past two weeks now anytime i track my Passport

Something unusual happened with all the new counterfoil approvals. The VFS status didn't change to 'being processed'. I don't know why it is so but you shouldn't rely on that VFS status at this point. Do well to call them (call them with a Glo number to eradicate number not allocated message and then continue calling even if you get number busy).

Normally, since you've gotten the LOI and counterfoil, your passport should be returned to VFS before the end of today or at most tomorrow.

Yes I have and it says it has been forwarded to the Canada Visa Office with todays date

What they sent in the email doesn't tally with the tracking response. The email update was definitely sent in error. How VFS manages to send these wrong updates amazes me.

Thanks Honorable Fratermathy

I jz got a donotreply mail from CIC now

I logged in an saw a "correspondence letter" telling me that

Dear bleep,

Your application to study in Canada has been approved. A permit authorizing your studies will be issued to you on your arrival to Canada following an examination by an officer of the Canada Border Services Agency, subject to your compliance with the requirement blah blah...

Is this the LOI?

That's the LOI. wink cheesy. Congrats. The odds have favoured you.

Start planning to confront VFS early. I know you're not in a hurry but it's always better to have your passport at hand.

How can I get the LOI ?
Is there something (Webform/mail) I need to send to get it or wait for IRCC to send it to me

Thanks

You should hear from them before the end of today. If you don't get it by the end of tomorrow, send a mail to the Abuja IRCC office (abuja@international.gc.ca).

Banditry has become the order of the day in the North now. This may seem like a small issue to the government until these bandits begin to form strong networks among themselves. We could have a situation where the groups would be loosely structured and that won't bode well for the nation. I really hope it doesn't get to that point because if it does, Boko Haram would look like a child's play.

Its been two weeks and some days since I submitted my passport, so when should I expect my counterfoil and my passport back?

Your own is still fresh na. Many of those who have gotten counterfoil submitted around this time last month. However, based on the recent timelines, you should expect your counterfoil between now and next week. If so, then you can get your passport back in the next two or three weeks. Just pray that they return it on time. Nothing is more frustrating than VFS holding your stamped passport till January (especially if you plan to be in Canada before then).

When are they going for their end of year break?

By the third week of this month, they may move all unfinished business to next year. It all depends but just don't have any unfinished business with them by then except you can't help it.

With this development on our GC key profile, what are we to expect next?

Thanks

Congratulations!

Next step is to battle with VFS to return your passport before they go for their end-of-year break cheesy.

@Fratermathy, @Justmellow, @Frankrobbn1 and other gurus. Thank you always for the great deal of work, contribution and guide you are always giving in this forum. Your generations to come will always enjoy the faithfulness of God almighty.

Please I wanted to ask questions, I was having a conversation with a friend that got his visa approved . Kindly put me through.

1. Please if one is approved now for graduate studies and has deffered till fall 2021, how early and how soon can one travel to Canada but resumption is still September 2021(orientation starts August 10th and classes starts September 9th?

2. Also what is the earliest time of travel that one can get his SIN?

3. If one has funding that will be approved, in may/June but needs ones physical presence in Canada before one can be credited for fall 2021, how soon can one travel to Canada?

Thank you as I anticipate kind clarifications from great contributors here because I have assured my friend of sure answer to my questions because of the wealth of knowledge here.

Once again, thank you

God bless you all

Check your IRCC account if your application status has changed to "approved".

You can arrive Canada 3-4 weeks before the start of program. If you arrive earlier, you may be turned back and that is a problematic thing as TRV may be revoked if care is not taken. If you're lucky (as many have been in the past), you can be allowed in but it's a risk.

Yes Lagos Office. I got my counterfoil and LOI on the 17th.

Basically, you got your passport back from VFS two weeks after you got the counterfoil. The inefficiency of VFS here is just too annoying. These things shouldn't take that long.

Its been a nerve-racking experience with VFS to be honest.

Submitted my passport to VFS on the 3rd of November.

Lagos office? When exactly did you get the counterfoil?

4th email just this morning. Submitted previous friday via dhl to Abuja, it arrived there last week Monday so today makes it a week since I submitted. I paid for 2 way courier with DHL; with recent trends, does it mean I will still have to pay for VFS's courier service?

The Abuja offices of VFS and IRCC seem to be saner. We can't say the same of the Lagos office. This was why I advised people to use the Abuja office. My advice still stands for anyone who gets their PPR. An extra amount for package transmission shouldn't be an issue if you want quick results. For those still waiting on the Lagos IRCC office to stamp their passports, my advice is that you should mail the High Commissioner directly or raise a webform to their central office (at Ottawa).

To answer your question, Eilenora, I don't think you'll pay again for return courier but kindly confirm from them. Their rules seem to be changing every minute these days.

Thanks for the clarification. Maybe I got it via email because its for express entry ITA.

This thread is for student visa/study permits. Maybe you should ask your question on the Express Entry thread or Living in Canada thread for you to get well-informed answers. Most of us here are more familiar with the TRV process than the PR process.

Yes

That's rather weird. Most people get their PPRs on their MyCIC account. At any rate, since you now have it, you should send your passport and accompanying docs to any VFS of your choice.

Hi Guys,

Need a quick help here.

I got PPR email from this address "IRCC.CIO-BRCD.IRCC@cic.gc.ca" on Nov 25 but there was no visa office indicated. All medicals and biometrics passed before this PPR.

Am i expected to send my passport to VFS lagos?

You got a PPR via email?

Haba. It's time for us to say no to corporal punishment in our schools. It's outdated, barbaric, and amounts to child abuse. How can secondary school teachers be flogging little children? A learning environment should be filled with love, warmth and patience. You can't turn a school into a torture zone and expect students to be at their best. The fear of punishment is not a good way to attain excellence.

So sad. He is one of Nigeria's most cited scholars. His essay, "Colonialism and the Two Publics" has over 1,600 verified citations from across the world. He laboured for the Urhobo cause and was instrumental to putting Urhobo on the global stage with his waado.org website.
