Pimp04: Any office is better than Lagos. If you can wait for 3 weeks to1 month or more and without proper updates, then you can send to Lagos. If not, use Abuja or send to Accra or Niamey. |

Kimkalash: It's not a ghost update. It's a backend server downtime. Whenever there's a downtime, you won't be able to view the application page and when you refresh the status page, you'll see a message that your application status has changed. Once the server comes back up, the message will be cleared. A ghost update is when you see a message that your application status has changed and you are actually able to view the application page. Ghost updates are seldom general. It'll happen to just your account. My bet is that almost everyone cannot access their accounts at this current moment and they'll get that message too. 4 Likes |

Florida has always been a place of weird news. Entertain yourself and search "Florida man" on Google News. This doesn't surprise me a bit. Weirder things have happened in Florida. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Ikechuqu: This is the point I made in my earlier post. Lagos VFS is highly INCOMPETENT! They don't seem to understand that they're dealing with people's official travelling documents. The tracking system they have is inefficient. They are slow to act. They don't even have good customer care services. The plain truth is that if your passport is already there, just remove your mind and hope for the best. If not, consider your options well before sending your passport there. That's the worst VAC in the world, as far as I know. |

Dudun007: I don't know how long it would take but many of those who sent their passports to Lagos VFS are yet to get them back. No one knows how Lagos VFS works these days. If you expect to travel mid-December then you may comfortably use Lagos VFS. |
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by fratermathy(m): 3:44pm On Nov 13, 2020 |
Dudun007: If I were you, I'd send my passport to Abuja VFS or Niamey VFS (Niger). Preferably Niamey VFS or Yaounde VFS. You may even prioritize Accra VFS over Lagos. That is if you have the extra money to spend on transmission fees and courier charges. It may be worth the hassle if you want to get your passport back soon. Lagos VFS should be a last resort except you are not in a hurry to travel. |

Aditkd: I never knew that the army can do this in such an obvious manner. This is too bad. Just too bad. You shouldn't rest o. If you can post yours too, or even just the registration number and who it was reassigned to, we can get the conversation moving. We shouldn't sit and allow these deeply corrupt persons to ruin everything because they think we won't call them out. 2 Likes |
Politics / Nigeria Army's Nepotism by fratermathy(m): 9:58pm On Nov 12, 2020 |
I came across a post on Facebook where a friend claimed that the army swapped his name for another person's name even though the registration number is his own. I don't have any reason to think that this person is lying and I actually want Nairalanders to make this issue trend so that the anomaly can be corrected. Nigeria is for everybody and not only for the rich, connected, or those from specific ethnic groups. Please help my friend share this post on twitter, Facebook, and any other platform. Things like this shouldn't be happening in a sane country. Link to post: https://facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=3561230133963534&id=100002297476258 Cc Lalasticlala Seun 3 Likes 4 Shares

1oak: It's obvious you didn't ask for it. I didn't even know it has started until you shared this message. If you don't have the money and time to write the IELTS exam, my suggestion is that you should opt for normal processing (note that they may have a minimum band score). You can generate the MyBankStatement from your online banking account or by visiting a branch. You'll get a print out that you can attach to your application. I'd strongly caution against sudden additional deposits. Don't complicate things. |

1oak: They've started Nigeria Student Express? That's interesting. Based on what is here, you have to generate a MyBankStatement ticket with proof of finance for one year and then enroll for IELTS. However, as this is a choice, you could opt for normal processing. 1 Like |

Congratulations in advance Iceman2020 Spotlights Start making plans to submit your passport ASAP so that once the PPR comes, you'll just print it and mail your package within hours. It appears that even those who submitted two weeks ago are yet to get feedback. The earlier you submit your passport, the better for you, especially as you'd have to wait for over two weeks to get feedback. 2 Likes |

This is animal cruelty. How can you force such a big horse into a small tricycle? Don't they have pickups or other large vehicles that they can use? This is why education is important. No educated mind, even if it is at JSS3 level, will think of something like this. 70 Likes |
