Magic Bishop:

The Sierra-Leonnians and Liberians still hold Nigeria in contempt as to the conduct of their soldiers on and off duty.

A lot of innocent people were killed by the Nigerian Military in their Pyrrhic strategy which saw little or no difference between armed combatants and innocent civilians. The collateral damage was enormous but the mainstream western media avoided reporting this on the cue of their governments who were reluctant to send troops to Africa. The Nigerian Army got the Job done in the most shabby manner ever.

The video below shows Nigerian soldiers in their finest barbarity

No matter how many times I watch this video I feel very angry and cry for this young boy.

I will watch the clip tomorrow, I don't want to go to bed with a headache cool

Sadly, the nigerian soldiers were well known for fathering many kids over there.

That said, there will always be innocent casualties in any war. It's just the harsh reality.

If you want to declare Borno State as an enemy territory, Nigerian armed forces can achieve the same result as seen during ECOMOG operation.

If this approach will solve the problem and deliver the much needed result, then so be it.

DerideGull:

ECOMOG operation was totally different from the case of Boko Haram.

I know.

Nigerian army played a great part in the whole ECOMOG arrangement and they got lots of praise and accolades for it. It shouldn't be too difficult to replicate similar success in borno state.

Onlytruth:

Thank you for asking this question.
When I read that Boko Haram drove into town in trucks and in hundreds of men, I knew instantly that there is no aerial surveillance along the North East border.
All it takes is for their movement to be picked up by a UAV and figther aircrafts dispatched immediately to obliterate them.
Nope, didn't happen!
They came to town, did their thing and left jejely. undecided

Thank you oh jare.

Nigeria's armed forces is seriously underfunded and poorly equipped. Anybody that thinks differently is in self-denial.
Politics / Re: Nigeria's Military Needs Major Upgrade by funkybaby(f): 1:26am On Dec 22, 2013
DerideGull:

There no power that can absolutely defeat a home grown terrorism with overwhelming local support. Boro Haram does not have uniform, base or defined command structure. There could few Boko Haram on this forum as we debate.

This does not answer my question.

BH boys are invading military formations in borno with little or no opposition and driving away with MAV and yet you say nigeria has enough to defend itself?

Nigeria's glory days of ECOMOG are long gone.

Really? undecided

Then how come they've been unable to end the boko haram menace?

So many people have been mentioning the movie 'conjuring'. I will look out for it.

Yep. Seen it.

It's not as 'bad' as you make it seem. A sick doctor sewing butts to mouths grin I watched it to the end without flinching while chewing "guguru and epa".

Go and watch SEED and let me know what you think. embarassed

While concuring to Seed being ok,it holds nothing on the Exorcist. That movie is about the definitive thing when it comes to the horror movies, from the plot, scripting, and eventual climax.

Just an addendum, check out Rosemary's Baby (not the remake).

Fair point but I have seen both movies - Seed and exorcist. The exorcist ain't got nothing on Seed. My personal opinion though grin

Seed put me off horror movies for a good one month. grin

there were stories of people throwing up while watching the movie, walking out of the cinema and many others being unable to watch it to the end.

I read online that Seed 2 will be released next year. Can't wait to see what the director will come up with this time. cool

I'll check out Rosemary's baby. Thanks. smiley

Have you seen "human centipede" part 1? Not horror in my opinion but a little disturbing. The part 2 was rather boring. Switched off after 10mins.
TV/Movies / Re: What Is The Scariest Movie You Have Ever Watched? by funkybaby(f): 10:50am On Dec 21, 2013
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the movie SEED

It is the sickest, sadistic and most disturbing horror movie I have ever seen.

It makes the likes of SAW, evil dead and the exorcist look like comedy flicks.

Excuse you!! Who pays for it in the end? When prices go up as a result of overhead/crime/lost profits/when they close due to bad business?
The consumer and the employer are the ones being scammed. End of story. This is a crime and should not be encouraged in any way shape or form

Exactly!!!

Retailers are no fools.

They pass on the loss of the missing/unaccounted stock to other items which you and I end up paying for. No wonder, you find some items over priced and you will be thinking WTF not knowing that it's the cashiers (AKA. the thieves) at their tills that are responsible.

We can see how difficult it is doing business in Nigeria and making a profit.

It's hard enough dealing with overheads from unstable electricity but then to have employees robbing the company at the tills is on another level.

This is the mentality of a real crook. If you don't want to work hard like you said, why would you waste your time working in a grocery store? Why don't you just rob banks?

As innnnnnnnnnnnn, she's a babanla crook.

People like her go into paid employment with the mindset/mission to steal from their bosses and spend most of their time strategising how to go about it.

arcbabe: they think they are wise? They employ people to stand and attend to customer from morning to night and end up paying them peanuts. They don't know they are going to suffer too cheesy

You seriously need to shut it.

People doing similar jobs (and worse) in malls in Europe get paid minimum wage (which is peanuts) while their bosses earn hundreds of thousands and declare huge profits every year. Yet, you do not find such people stealing from their bosses or expecting tips from customers.

You need to change your entire orientation and outlook to life/career.

If your type gets a bank job, there's a 99percent chance that you will carry out a bank fraud if you have the slightest opportunity.

many things you feel are not worth it in Nigeria are actually worth a lot .There is nothing immoral in giving tips .If you don't give tips over here ,next time you are waiting to be served ,you will be given a bad service .If you feel that you wanna report it to management ,,they have a union ..so next time funky give a tip or not.
Of course they shouldnt steal from employers but employers should also perform inventory on their goods and not depend on cashiers

The cashier at the till is paid to do a job and offer a service.

What silly bad service? The worst that can happen is that he or she will refuse to bag my items for me and I will get it done myself.

You will be shocked at the management's response if such cashier is reported. There's a 98percent chance that person will be sacked.

No retailer will retain a cashier that fails to scan items, issue receipts for goods sold and offer bad service to its customers.

STFU! Get yourself some dignity girl.

Why are you depending on handouts?

I have never and will never tip a cashier at the till in a mall. Never!!! I will collect my change to the last penny.

What is the benefit to her if the company goes out of business? Isn't she paid for her service? Didn't she agree to whatever they are paying her?
That is stealing and it is wrong. You wouldn't want your own employees to do the same thing to you, would you?

Thanks oh.

Some of the responses on this thread are shocking.

See people justifying stealing. No wonder most of the items sold in the mall are overpriced. How else will the retailer make up for all the shortfall ?

arcbabe: Don't mind the OP na over sabi dey worry am,cashiers coperate a lot with each other and even if he report her they will cover her up. Am sure he bought all those items without giving her tips and now she collected it by not scanning some goods and he is complaining.

So cashiers at the tills in malls should also receive tips

And you actually think this is enough justification to steal from your employer? Shame on you.

Smh.

Obviously false news.

Have the people of Odi apologised for murdering the innocent policemen that were carrying out their legitimate duties?

Have they explained what they did to the bodies of those policemen ?

Have they apologised for shielding the gang that carried out the hideous crime and for also refusing to hand them over to the authorities before the expiration of OBJ's ultimatum?

I am not really in support of how OBJ handled the invasion but hey, they brought it upon themselves.

If only GEJ had OBJ's balls. cool. . . . . The boko haram menace would have long ended.

RIGHT! the annoying thing with most wedding gowns even if you shop in store is the extra fitting costs you still have to pay for. My sis had to pay a hundred or so dollars to another seamstress for that. So its pretty much all the same at the end of the day.

@phema. i think you should give the online shopping a shot.

Very well said.

A dear friend of mine....even though she was based in England and had loads of bridal shops to visit, she ordered her dress online from a bridal store based in the US. She claimed it was cheaper.

She came over to mine and I did all the measurements as instructed by the store. The dress fitted her perfectly on her wedding day. She didn't have to do any adjustments, tucking in, etc.

Babe, i tire oooo. And to make it worse, they have just one size (usually a size 12) in each design and ivory color for one to try on. You only get your exact size and color when you're ready to buy. cheesy

I'm willing to place a bet that all they do is place an order online once you pay them. That is what most bridal shops in Nigeria do. Especially those with "sample" dresses in store that you have to try on.

Get your dress online. All you need is to decide on the fit you want - "mermaid", "cinderalla", etc, get a tailor or a friend to take your measurement and then place your order.

You can check out this site. My cousin got her wedding gown from them. http://www.jjshouse.com

She spoke highly of the quality and the fit.

1k to try on a wedding dress Seriously!!! WTF!
