RIP to the soldier, but you Nigerians need to realise how much of a joke you all are, struggling as the largest nation in Africa to overcome a pitiful militant group who live in the bush. Your soldiers are under-equipped, led by incompetent commanders using obsolete strategy. Your soldiers are dying unnecessarily, and are losing the will to fight. Your cities are ravaged by the fear of constant terror attacks. How much will it take for Nigerians to swallow their vacuous pride of being the giant of Africa and realise that your country is a total failure and disgrace to humanity? If you can't learn from the best in the world, US, UK, Israel, etc, then at least learn from your more able neighbours, Ghana, Kenya, etc.

Too little too late. Buhari has not won SW in a convincing way so as to offset the utter azzkicking he received from GEJ in the SE, SS, and Middle Belt. GEJ's re-election is now all but certain.

And the guard/door keeper was himself African! Shame on Africa! This can only happen where self-hate and inferiority complex fester, in the bleaching countriesnof Nigeria and Kenya, where one insults a fellow African for being dark, but never in the home of African independence and dignity, Ghana.

Akata OP, you are very irrational. But I encourage you to make the move, will free up more visa quotas for visa applicants.

Nigeria is Hell on Earth compared to Ghana. It just has more jobs and opportunities, but people here have largely lost their sense of being human. I will go to Ghana as soon I've made enough money to buy land and open up a viable business in Cape Coast.

Look at the disproportionate number of people from Lagos who voted, so the poll isn't even close to being accurate; it can only maybe predict the outcome in Lagos state.

No matter what the poll numbers will be, GEJ will win the next election, whether he gets more votes than GMB or not. It's a travesty to democracy, but a blessing to Ghana, because a weak Nigeria under incompetent leadership is in Ghana's fundamental geopolitical interests.

Liberia gained its independence in 1847. American dependent, yes. American colony? No. And the black slaves were originally from?

Which means that it is much older than Ghana, not so? grin
It was even the country that inspired Pan Africanists like Marcus Garvey.....

By your definition of indigenous....the Malagasy people, the Lingala people, infact MOST african peoples won't be indigenous.

Many African tribes are migrant tribes.

And Egyptians are not Arabs BTW....and the Sudanese are mixt between Arabs and Blacks.

But they are still Africans.....so yer point does not stand.

Oh well....the operative term is Black Majority rule. (Some black tribes migrated into South Africa ages ago....displacing the original tribes. Long story).

No need to be angry, old chap. And indigenous Africans are not all black.

And anyway.....the important fact is that we have done nothing with all that independence.....and no, I am not just talking about your own country.

You need to read African history. Africa was once black top to bottom: from the Nile Delta to the Cape of Good Hope. Egyptians were black, but they have been wiped out, and their black blood was diluted. Same thing with the Maghreb countries (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya).

Rather than fighting over meaningless technicalities, African countries should unite to liberate the northern third of the continent from Arab rule.

And yes, the Malagasy are not indigenous. They are a mix between indigenous Africans and Indonesian invaders. Those with more Indonesian blood should be deported from Africa. Lingala originated in Africa, and so they do not count as invaders.

Nigeria has more influence in West Africa only because of its large population size and size of economy (vulnerably dependent on oil). It does not mean that Nigeria has a good reputation or commands respect. Far from it.

Sorry to be rather pedantic but...

1.Liberia...independent in 1847.
2.Ethiopia (regained independence in 1941 after five years of rule by Mussolini's Italy).
3.Tunisia (1956)
4.Sudan(1956)
5Egypt(at least nominally independent since the 19th Century).
6.The Union of South Africa(1910).

Ghana is hardly the first.

By independent, I mean returning sovereignty to the indigenous African population. Liberia was controlled by freed American slaves at its founding, which made a de facto American colony.

Ethiopia was never recognised as a colony. It was occupied for around 10 years, so it never really gained independence.

Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan: These countries are still under Arab rule today. How are they ruled by the indigenous African people?

South Africa was not returned to indigenous rule until 1994 when Mandela took office.

So you need to read up on history, because ignorance is very embarrassing. Every educated Africans know that Ghana started the movement for indigenous self-governance in Africa.

Ghana is the father of African nations because we gained independence first, and only then did other Africans want to end colonial rule. If it weren't for Ghana, you would still be ruled from London as colonial subjects.

Ghana taught Africans dignity and self-esteem.

african descent means someone descended from the negroid groups of africa.

blonde haired blue eyed are not of african descent in racial classification because they are descended from caucasian ancestors in recent history which is verifiable, unlike your everybody is african theory.

if everybody is african then who is from the other continents? Nobody?

millions of years theory is not the same as couple hundred years fact.

learn to distinguish between the two when discussing.

What is a "negroid" group? How to delineate this group? What features must one have to be included? Your reasoning is flawed.

Black is applied to people of african or negroid descent.

Indians are considered caucasian since some caucasians are indeed dark skinned but not of african ancestry.

African descent: what does that even mean? Didn't science prove that all mankind descended from Africans? So with that in mind, how is a blond blue-eyed white from Iceland of less African descent than Michael Jordan? They are both 100% of African-descent because their ancestors came from Africa.

The whole notion of negroid, caucasoid and mongoloid as biological groupings have been disproven by science decades ago.

Can't we all just accept that all human beings differ from each other in various ways, and some differ more than others?
