Music executive, Soso Soberekon who was one of the Nigerians that turned up for the One Africa Music Fest in Dubai has debunked claims of Davido getting arrested.

There are reports online about Davido getting arrested in the early hours of today November 17, after stabbing one Michael aka Dream Chaser who is said to be the younger brother of Abu Abel, a Dubai-based record company CEO. It was also alleged that Davido missed his scheduled flight due to the incident.

However a quick check on Instagram revealed that Davido shared a new photo of himself taking a flight to the UK in a private jet.

He captioned the photo he shared "I’m about to sleep for the 1st time in 3 days ... Dubai well done o"

Soso Soberekon who also reacted to the report, revealed that Davido is on his way to support his artist Mayorkun who is holding a concert in London.

He wrote "Arrest? Lol davido is on his way to London to support his artist mayorkun"

A mother-of-four, Hassana Saleh, kept in solitary confinement for two years by her elder brother at Rigasa, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was, on Tuesday, rescued by a non-governmental organisation with the assistance of the Kaduna State Police.

Hassana was locked up in a single room apartment by her biological brother, Lawal Saleh, who is married to four wives and is father to 41 children.

Hassana urinated, defecated and ate for two years in her solitary confinement.


Hassana’s offence was that she wanted to go back to her former husband who had divorced her.

Her desire to return to her ex-husband was against the wish of her brother.

Founder of the Kaduna-based Arrida Relief Foundation, Rabi Ibrahim, who rescued Hassana, noted that the elder brother claimed to have locked her up because she was adamant about going back to her ex-husband’s house.

Rabi said the victim’s brother decided to lock her up for two years until her organisation got wind of the incident.

She said the victim would be taken to the hospital for medical attention.

Rabi also called on well-meaning Nigerians to come to her aid.

“The family believed that her ex-husband no longer loved her and had divorced her, which they said led to her depression.



“They, however, decided to lock her up in a room because they felt they had no other option,” she said.

In his defence, the victim’s brother, who is married to four wives, admitted that he locked her up, saying, however, that it was for “only seven months” and not two years as claimed.

Saleh, who has fathered 41 children, while speaking with newsmen at the Police headquarters in the state capital on Tuesday, said he was away when his sister was thrown out of her ex-husband’s house.

According to him, he had to lock his sister in the room because he could no longer cater to her needs.

Saleh said, “I was away and when I came back, I was told that Hassana’s husband had divorced her and that she had run away to an unknown destination.

“She was found and brought to my house, where I reside with my four wives and 41 children in Rigasa.

“I did my best to get medication for her, but she kept trying to run back to her former husband.

“She was later found and remarried to another man, but she left the marriage because she wanted to go back to the father of her children.

“I was helpless and did not know what to do because Hassana kept running away. So, I decided to keep her in the room because I could no longer foot the bills for her medication.

“Even food to eat became a problem for me and my household.

“She was locked up for seven months, not two years.”

Saleh also said two of his sisters usually cleaned up the room where their sister was kept.

A tragic accident occurred today at Vinikling bridge (Hayin Gada) in Yola, Adamawa State as about 20 people were crushed to death after a trailer loaded with farm produce overran several tricycles a.k.a Keke Napep.

Victims of the accident who were crushed to death by the trailer being chased by police officers after its driver refused giving them money have been evacuated to a hospital in Yola. Daily Post reported that some residents of the community said the police told them they were chasing the truck driver for carrying goods suspected to be foreign rice.

“But, there was no foreign rice in the truck, it was farm produce. The driver said they were chasing him for refusing to give them money at a checkpoint the police mounted,” a resident of the community, Umar Shehu said.

A student of Modibo Adama University, Salisu Ibrahim also recounted how he escaped getting crushed by the truck.

“I did not know what happened, but we suddenly saw the truck coming with speed and police van was pursuing it. All of us in our Keke Napep jumped out and fled, the driver lost control and the truck began to hit other Keke Napep and crushing people before our very own eyes. It was horrific,” Ibrahim said.

Two domestic workers who connived and stole a Cuban Diamond neck chain, a Frank Muller and Rolex wrist watches worth N243 million belonging to their employer were Wednesday arrested in #BornoState after almost two weeks of fleeing #Lekki, #Lagos.

The suspects: Alex Obinyan (39), cleaner and Ayuba Samson (29), car washer, were arrested after they had sold the Cuban Diamond neck chain and Frank Muller wrist watch for N6M and N4M respectively in Lagos and Abuja.

The identity of their employer, who sources confirmed is a popular celebrity with vast investment in Lekki, Lagos is being kept under wrap by the police. Obinyan, source disclosed, had spent over 8 years working and living with the celebrity in Lekki before the incident.

His colleague, Ayuba started working at the celebrity residence only two months ago after returning from Chibok, his home town. They earned N80,000 and N50,000 monthly.

The suspects, who were captured on CCTV leaving the celebrity’s residence have confessed stealing the Cuban Diamond Chain valued at N54 million, a Frank Moller Wrist watch worth N140 million and a Rolex wrist watch worth N49 million.

According to Obinyan, they sold the Cuban Diamond Chain in Eti – Osa, Lagos for N6 million while the Frank Moller watch was sold in Abuja for N4 million.

“I have been working with him (celebrity) in Lekki for over 8 years. I am used to moving those valuables around the house wherever I found them in his car. I have never thought of stealing them.

When Samson came and he saw me with the gold chain laced with diamonds, he convinced me that we could make a fortune from stealing them. He was not with us before. Within two months of his stay, we planned to steal these things.”

The suspects were arrested in Maiduguri in their two room and parlour they rented. Also arrested with them were the buyer of the Cuban diamond chain, Haruna Abdullahi and that of the Frank Moller’s wrist watch, Abubakar Buhari.

Recovered from the suspects were a Rolex watch, two brand new keke Napep and a Toyota Corolla and the sum of $2200.
