Another person who stood as a big loser in 2016 was Senator Musiliu Obanikoro who has so far, returned the sum of N400 million to the government, part of the looted funds by the same Sambo Dasuki that was given to the former Minister of State for Defence in the mad spending thrift.

After playing hide and seek with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for many months, Obanikoro ended his-on-the-run stunts and came back into the country willingly to hand himself over to the anti-graft agency and since then, has been singing like a Canary.
He has been telling all who how he collected N4.7 billion from Dasuki and how he has been throwing the cash stolen from the coffers of the country.

Apart from being hounded by the EFCC, Obanikoro has now been declared a persona-non-grata by his once-close pals as he has indicted the likes of Ayo Fayose, the Ekiti State Governor and Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation Minister who were his right-hand men.
His case is like that of the devil who vowed never to perish alone in the pit of hell after he was thrown out of heaven for his rebellion and no one could ever be lonelier.

Sambo Dasuki

Before his fall from Grace to Grass, Col. Sambo Dasuki was one of the most powerful men in the country, especially during the regime of former President Goodluck Jonathan to whom he served as the National Security Adviser (NSA).

But today, the Sokoto State born son of the former Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki, has been in the detention of the Directorate of State Services (DSS), since he was arrested in November of 2015, with a plethora of charges bordering on the misappropriation of $2 billion meant for the purchase of arms for the Nigerian Military in their fight against the Boko Haram.
Instead of disbursing the funds for what they were meant for, Dasuki went on a sharing spree with top politicians in readiness for the 2015 presidential elections.

But when the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lost out to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the cookies crumbled and he was indicted in a plethora of charges.

Some of Dasuki’s haul of charges include a 6-count charge bordering on money laundering, alleged illegal possession of firearms, illegal diversion of N32 billion, diversion of N13.6 billion, and stealing.

Today, every imaginable person points to him as the source of their funds during the reckless spending spree of the past regime. Dasuki is now left in the cold with no straw to hold on to.

A new discovery has been made at the site of the plane crash that killed many Brazilian footballers and it has left many people stunned.
A new video footage has emerged showing the moment a Bible belonging to one of the Colombia plane crash footballers was found.
The Bible has now been handed to his wife as he fights for his life in hospital.

The bible was found with amazing words he marked shortly before the crash.
According to Daily Star UK, centre back Helio Neto, who had previously told his wife he had dreamed about the plane crashing, is apparently deeply religious and takes the Bible with him everywhere.

He was one of only six people who survived the crash which killed 71.
And now he has been reunited with his Bible after it was found in the wreckage by a reporter filming the scene, and who was shocked when he opened it and realised what was on the last page that the defender had been reading.

The bookmark had been inserted next to Psalm 63, which talks about being safe in the shadow of God’s wings and about thinking of God in bed.
In detail it says: “On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night; Because you have been my help; Then I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings. My soul follows you closely; Your right hand upholds me.”

The reporter can be seen visibly shaking as he realises what it is. He reads with a shaky voice the name that is printed on the inside of the cover, as behind him we can see the wreckage of the crash.
Mangled parts of the plane can be seen in the background and show how bad the impact must have been.

Cabrini is later seen taking the bible to the wife of Neto, who smiles sadly as she realises what she is being given.
Neto’s condition has been described as “delicate” by doctors who said they regularly have to “stabilise” him as he has a “serious pulmonary infection.”

His wife, Simone, said Neto has a lot of faith in God and takes the bible with him on all his trips.
Simone had previously told how her husband had told her on the morning of the flight that he had had a dream it had crashed.

As she received the book, Simone said: “It’s the first thing he takes when he travels, and here are his annotations, I’m very grateful to have it back.”

Neto has so far undergone extensive surgery on his lungs, skull, knees and wrists. His family say they hope he will make a full recovery.

A pastor has left many people amazed after he gave his thirsty congregation members water from a sewage to drink.

A controversial Zimbabwean pastor has left many people in shock after ordering his congregation members to drink raw sewage water on Saturday while clearing ground at his church stand along Seke Road, H-metro reported.
Pastor Paul Sanyangore allegedly ordered his congregation members to drink the water after they got thirsty while clearing the land.
Before they could get water at a nearby tuck-shop, the preacher went and fetched water at a nearby stream, believed to be contaminated by sewage before applying salt to it.

He reportedly prayed for the water and asked the congregants to drink but no one was forthcoming as they had seen where the water had come from. He then drank it first and gave his congregation members to drink. He later went on radio during his slot on Star FM to announce it.

“People were clearing the ground at the stand and were thirsty. They could not get water at some tuck shops nearby. The prophet then went to a nearby stream and fetched the water. He applied salt to it before praying over it and told the people to drink it. People were sceptical and he took the initiative to drink it first and they all followed suit,” said a source.

Speaking to H-Metro, the preacher said it was just a display of faith that everything is possible through the power of the Lord.
“It was just a demonstration of faith. We were far away from where we could get water and I just had to sprinkle salt and pray for the water.
“The people knew the water was dirty and when I said drink it, no one was forthcoming and I had to drink it first to show them nothing would happen. Thereafter they had to drink it. What was just a drinks break turned to be a healing session,” he said.

The preacher gave some Bible verses to justify.
“I know people will say what they want but this is not new. Elisha did that for people to consume water that was deemed bad for human consumption,” he said.

Of late, the preacher has been giving salt to his congregants which he said has healing power. He has done a number of controversial miracles which have left tongues wagging, among them walking on water.

Experts have orientated the general public about the rare fruit’s sexual performances among old and young people.

Two experts on Monday in Lagos, advised men to eat dates fruit, saying its consumption would enhance their sexual performance and increase their libido.They told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that dates fruit, when taken appropriately by men, could also improve health conditions in many other ways.

Dr Aminu Kazeem, a srxual health therapist who works at Energy for Sex Clinic in Lagos said men who had performance problems should incorporate dates in their diet.

He said “a date fruit is a one-seeded fruit of the date palm tree, which is botanically known as Phoenix dactylifera and belongs to the family of Palmae (Arecaceae) plant.“The common English names are dried dates, dates, date palm, etc; usually oblong, with varying sizes, shapes, colours, consistencies and quality.

“Eating dates will promote sperm quality and quantity as it is one of the best natural fruits used for male fertility. It also increases the size of testes in men and the size of breast in women.

A nutritionist, Mrs Toyin Adeola, also said that eating dates could treat sexual impotence, help to improve sexual activities and increase the production of sex hormones.She added that the fruit was good for the health of both males and female.

She said “date contains many vitamins and minerals which are essential to boost sexual power even in older persons.
“The fruit is packed with amino acids for sexual stamina, as well as a good dose of fruity sugars which make them sweet.”

The nutritionist, who described the best way it could be taken to achieve best result, however, advised diabetic patients to seek doctor’s advise before consuming dates.

She said “it is advisable to remove the seed and grind seven or eight pieces of dates and soak in water for about 2-3 hours.
“Add one glass of milk and one teaspoon of honey and drink at least once a day to boost sexual power.”

A shocking trend has left many people baffled as prostitutes are now begging men to have S ex with them just for food.

The economic hardship in some places is becoming a source of worry as prostitutes are now forcing men to have S ex with them for a plate of sadza (cornmeal) in Mataga Growth Point area of Mberengwa in Zimbabwe.

the S ex workers disclosed that they have been forced into the unusual style because they go for days without meals and business is not booming anymore.

A plate of sadza cost 40cents at Mataga Growth Point. The desperate S ex workers left guests shell-shocked when they recently hired a kombi (bus) to go and parade their services at an agricultural field day at Inyala.

“Ukatowana anokutengera sadza wototi mudzimu yandida musi iwoyo (If you find someone who buys you sadza, you have to thank your ancestral spirits for giving you a good fortune),” said Chipo Zhou popularly known as ‘Mai Nona’.

Speaking in separate interviews during a visit at Mataga the S ex workers said living conditions have become unbearable that they can now offer a one night stand just for a plate of sadza.

They said business has dwindled at Mataga due to the economic meltdown and they would sometimes sleep on empty stomachs. Further investigation shows that the s*x workers are living in squalor with five of them sharing one room and paying $10 a month each. The rooms are actually found in run-down and abandoned shops.

Their business has also been severely affected by an influx of girls who are dropping out of school because of economic hardships. The number of cross border traders who used to board a train to Mozambique at Ngungumbane about 10 km from Mataga has also sharply dropped thereby shrinking the market for s*x workers.

“We used to have a hype of business from traders at Ngungumbane but things have changed. You can board a commuter for $1 to Ngungumbane and fail to secure a client there,” said Theresa Siziba, a sex worker.

Three Nigerian nationals have been arrested and approximately 26.1kg of methamphetamine seized following a joint operation between the Australian Federal Police (AFP), Australian Border Force (ABF) and Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC).
The arrest followed the interception of three consignments containing 180 tins of liquid glue, originating from Mexico by ABF officials in October this year.
Operation Shepody began after these three consignments were referred to the AFP for investigation. An examination of the consignments, located a total of approximately 180L of methamphetamine mixed into the industrial glue. The illicit drugs have an estimated street value of $15.6 million.

On 13 October, the AFP conducted a controlled delivery of the consignments to an address in Edgecliff, NSW. A 45-year-old Auburn man, a 41-year-old Miranda man and a 49-year-old Pendle Hill man were subsequently arrested on Thursday 24 November, after the AFP executed a number of search warrants in Auburn, Pendle Hill and Miranda.
AFP acting Assistant Commissioner Chris Sheehan, National Manager Crime Operations, said the AFP’s cooperation with its partner law enforcement agencies has never been stronger, both within Australia and overseas.
“Working with our partners, the AFP has arrested three men and stopped almost $16 million worth of a very harmful substance making its way into the Australian community. Law enforcement agencies will continue to work together to target those who believe they are above the law,” AFP acting Assistant Commissioner Sheehan said.
“My message to those contemplating bringing these dangerous drugs into our country is that you will get caught, regardless of how creative your concealment method,” he said.
ABF Assistant Commissioner Investigations Wayne Buchhorn said the successful resolution to this operation was evidence of the excellent work of law enforcement agencies and the ABF’s layered approach to border security.
Our highly skilled officers are at the border 24-hours a day, 365-days a year to detect and deter harmful illicit substances before they reach our shores,” Assistant Commissioner Buchhorn said.
ACIC Executive Director Intelligence Col Blanch said the ACIC has assessed that methamphetamine poses, by far, the greatest threat to the Australian public of all illicit drug types, and by a significant margin.
“The ACIC is committed to working with our partners, to discover, understand and respond to the threat that methamphetamine poses to our community,” Mr Blanch said.
Two of the men appeared before Sydney Central Local Court on Friday. 25 November. The third male will appear before Court at a later date.

A 20-year-old rubber tapper has been arrested in Edo State for killing an Okadaman so that he could steal his motorcycle.

The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man, Cephas Appaf, for allegedly hacking a commercial motorcyclist (Okadaman) to death in the Ovia South-West Local Government Area of the state.

The Benue State Appaf, a rubber tapper, had contracted the victim identified as Anietie Okon, to take him from Ovia to Benin, the state capital on November 3, 2016.

But along the way, the suspect told the unsuspecting victim to make a stopover on the way where he brought out up a cutlass and dealt him severe blows in the neck, before fleeing on the motorcycle.

But luck ran out on him when he wanted to sell the motorcycle as one of the potential buyers was said to have suspected his claim of ownership of the property and reported his suspicion to the chairman of the Okada Union in the town, leading to the arrest of the Appaf by some security operatives attached to an agro-allied firm and handed over to the police in the area.

Speaking on the incident, the suspect who was paraded by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Haliru Gwandu,denied any intention to kill the man and blamed his action on poverty.

“He (victim) took me on his motorcycle and on our way from Benin, I saw a cutlass at a rubber plantation. Then I told him to stop, take the cutlass and cut him in the neck.
I did not plan to kill him; it was because of poverty. I took the motorcycle to another community to sell. But I could not sell it because it was identified as a stolen motorcycle.

The residents of the community said the motorcycle was stolen and that they would follow me to where I reside to verify the ownership of the motorcycle.

As we were going, some security men stopped us and the residents explained to the security men that they suspected the motorcycle I was riding did not belong to me.
So, I was taken to a police station. I regret what I have done.”

The Police Commissioner who said the case was still under investigation, promised that the suspect would be charged to court as soon as the police are done with the investigation.

The Kano State government have signed a light rail contract with a Chinese firm to the tune of $1.8billion

The Kano State Government has signed contracts valued at 1.8 billion Dollars with China Railway Construction Group C18 for the construction of light rail line in the state.‎

‎Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje signed the contract in a brief ceremony on Wednesday in Kano.
Ganduje said the first phase of the construction was billed to take two years, while the second phase of the four-line rail was expected to take another two years.‎

He added that the project will improve the transport system within the state, as well as drive economic activities in the state.
The governor explained that “the project is part of grand design to upgrade Kano to the status of a truly great city, as it will significantly ease movement of goods and services.

“Upon completion, the light rail is expected to cover Janguza-Bata, Jogana-Bata, Dawanau-Bata and Kwanar Dawaki-Bata routes in Kano city.”
He added that a Chinese Bank would provide 85 per cent of the total sum, while the Kano State Government would pay the remaining 15 per cent.

He said that the first phase of the project from Dawanau to Bata would cost 555 million Dollars.
The Chairman of the company, Mr Ben Shinxo, assured the state government of the company’s readiness to complete the projects in two years as this would benefit the public.

Nigerian graduates have been challenging themselves by growing in this period of recession and leaving the government to deal with bigger problems. Being unemployed could be devastating no matter the support you get from loved ones.
Omotola Oluwatosin is a graduate of Biology from Ekiti State University; the young lady has decided to find do something worthwhile with her time instead of joining millions of youths on the street to chant the unemployment hymn.

Ordinarily, one would expect this biologist to dive into her field and do something in the line of science. Instead, Oluwatosin thought of the need of the society and has acted on it by becoming a shoemaker.
Being a shoemaker requires a lot of creativity as you will have to bring up original ideas in order to stand out in the society. She does not mind getting dirty while making the shoes as she is passionate about what she does.

Nigerian youths are finally getting to know that being a graduate is not enough, you need to learn a trade to be able to stand out in the society. Colleges and tertiary institutions are starting to include skill acquisition in their schemes. Youths who are insightful can make the most out of the opportunity by doing something different.

The walls of the house are about ten feet high and fortified with electric fence. At every material moment, there are two security guards in the house:

A private security man from Westec Security and an armed police officer. With a CCTV camera in the house, the Essien’s house can be described as very secure for its occupants.

Ironically it was in this house that 23-year old past student of Accra Girls’ Senior High School, Veracity Elorm Oteng, was allegedly murdered and dumped in a swimming pool. She was a house help in that house. The owner of the house and employer of Elorm, Mr. Ato Essien, is a renowned businessman who lives in Dansoman.

Mr. Essien and his family had travelled to the USA on a holiday at the Justice Tsekpo, who describes himself as an uncle of Elorm, says the last time he spoke to his niece was in the early hours of Thursday August 20, this year. His calls, since then, went unanswered. On Friday, August 21, someone answered the call.

“At 10 O’clock [a.m.] I called again. No response, till 12:15 [pm] when a male voice picked the call,” Justice narrates how he got to know about the killing of his niece. “I asked of the owner of the phone so I could speak to her. The voice said she was sick, seriously ill so I should rush down to Dansoman and take her to the hospital.”

When Justice rushed to the house, he was told that Elorm had attempted to swim that morning and drowned in the pool. The day private security guard, Mr. Frank Obeng and the day police guard, Constable Clifford Atsutse, were the ones he met.

They told him his niece had drowned that morning but the body had been conveyed to the morgue. He said he also met a man who identified himself as “Tailor.” Sources say his sewing shop is very close to the house. He was the one who helped Elorm to secure the job in Mr. Ato Essien’s house.

Meet probably the world’s oldest twin sisters who have celebrated their 100th birthdays thus reaching a combined age of 200 years!
Irene Crump and Phyllis Jones were born 25 minutes apart on November 20, 1916, since then they were almost inseparable.
The girls went to the same schools, had the same first job at a porcelain company and even now they live under one roof in Stourport, Worcestershire, UK.
The sisters marked their special day in the bosom of the family and friends and cresited their longevity to “hard work and good food”.
The kind hearted twins didn’t ask for presents, instead they request their loved ones to donate to the local air ambulance.

Irene, the younger of the siblings, said: “We didn’t want presents, we just wanted donations. We haven’t got all the money in yet but we think we’ve done pretty well, it’s a cause close to our heart. We often celebrate our special birthdays together, and we had a lovely day.
We celebrated our 90th together, and last year we celebrated our 99th birthday too. Hard work and good food is our secret, that’s all I can put it down to.
We’ve always been close and we live together now, Phyllis moved in with me five years ago. I can’t walk very far now but Phyllis walks around the block every day.”
Both Irene and Phyllis got married. Irene’s husband Samuel died in 1999 and lived well into his 90s, while Phyllis’ spouse, Ray Jones, died aged 91 ten years ago.
Irene has no children, nevertheless, Phyllis’ son, Carl Jones, cares about both of them.

Carl, 58, said: “My wife Patricia and I are here every day and we phone them at least once. They live independently and they’re doing great, and if there’s an emergency they’ll ring me. They get on well but they do have their moments – but that’s going to happen whether they’re 100 or 20!
Mum and Auntie Rene, as most people call her, have always lived a few miles apart, and now they live together. They’re totally different though – Auntie Rene has always been very methodical and careful, but Mum always races around doing things.”

A drunk couple shocked people after they decided to have se x at a street corner in broad daylight.

Chairman of the Committee on Army, George Akume, said the military has decimated the sect.

The Senate Committee on Army has reiterated that Boko Haram terrorists have been decimated but are bombing soft targets for relevance.
The Chairman of the Committee, Senator George Akume, stated this Thursday, November 24, when he led other members of the committee on an oversight visit to the Army Headquarters in Abuja.
Akume described the military as a strategic sector of the country and commended it for decimating the insurgents and restoring normalcy to the North-East.
He commiserated with the army and families of officers and soldiers who have made the supreme sacrifice in the course of the fight against the terrorists and assured the army of continued support.
In his remark, the Chief of Army Sfaff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, said the army would not have been able to degrade the insurgents but for the support of the National Assembly.

A housewife in Lagos has stabbed her ex-friend and neighbour for allegedly exposing her extra-marital affairs to her hubby.

Zainab Fatai has stabbed her neighbour, Adedoyin Adeniyi,in the face for allegedly exposing her extra marital affairs.
The incident occurred at their residence on Olu Abiodun street, Ijegun, Lagos.
It was reported that the two women used to be very close and knew each other's secrets until their relationship collapsed.
The two began having troubles after Zainab’s husband, Azeez, was informed that his wife has two children for two different men outside wedlock.
Zainab was said to have gotten angry after her husband confronted her with the allegation and evidence.
Zainab reportedly suspected her ex-friend and neighbour, the 30-year-old Adedoyin as the informant.
The two were said to have engaged in a fight that left Adedoyin stabbed in the face by the angered Zainab.

The matter was reported at Isheri Oshun division and Zainab was arrested.
Zainab has been arraigned before a Magistrates’ court sitting in Ejigbo for breach of peace, assault occasioning harm.
She pleaded guilty and begged for leniency.
The presiding Magistrate, A. A. Fashola, ordered her to be remanded in prison custody.
The matter was adjourned till 12 December, 2016 for sentencing.

Two men and a woman got a taste of jungle justice over kidnapping allegations.
Suspects receive jungle justice
Three persons have been given the jungle justice treatment over allegations of attempted kidnap.
According to an Instagram User, Ifere Paul, the suspected kidnappers allegedly came to Calabar from Delta state and Enugu states to abduct their unsuspecting victims.
The suspects, two men and a woman, were apprehended by an angry mob who descended on them and beat them to stupor, stripping them naked and leaving them bloodied.

The car being used by the suspects also felt the heat, as it was destroyed beyond recognition.
The suspects were subsequently handed over to the police.

The National Chairman, All Progressives Grand Alliance, Dr. Victor Oye, said on Tuesday that the revival of the Ajaokuta Steel Company and strategic investment in agriculture will help revamp the ailing economy.
Oye said that it would be difficult for the country to attain economic prosperity soon if it were to continue to rely heavily on imported food and raw materials for the industrial sector.
He said, “How can the economy recover when a multi-billion naira project such as the Ajaokuta Steel Mill is lying idle?
“The Federal Government should fix it because that will form the basis for our industrialisation pursuit.
“Food items worth billions of naira are still being imported for us to consume.
“All that put pressure on Forex and lead to inflation and the scarcity we are experiencing at the moment.”
Oye advised the Federal Government to emulate the agricultural development model of the Anambra government to grow the economy.
He stated that the Anambra government, under Governor Willie Obiano initiated a deliberate agric development policy, which has made the state to become a leading food producer in the country despite the limited farmlands in the area.
He said the state government was able to achieve its objective by attracting private partnership investment to the sector.
He said, “The government in Anambra has set the standard on ways of unlocking the potentials of the agricultural sector; it is a good example for all to learn from.
“I am recommending the Anambra model to the Federal Government; it is good that they are already visiting Anambra to see what is going on there.”

The manager of a football academy in Lagos State has been arrested by the police after it emerged that he had been having anal sex with his male players.
Darlington who is the manager of Soccer Warriors Football Academy based in Pen Cinema, Agege area of the state, was arrested by policemen attached to the Elere Police Division after one of the victims reported him to the police.
It was gathered that the Imo State-born Darlington, allegedly lured the teenage players to his house on separate occasions after training sessions, and had homosexual sex with them.
The suspect who is said to be divorced from his wife who lives with his three-year-old daughter in their state had been carrying out the homosexual acts on his players for a long time before the long arm of the law caught up with him.
However, the 49-year-old Darlington who confessed to the crime said he only raped three of the footballers and he started the act February 2015, but stopped the act in July 2016, after knowing the implication of his indulgence.
Hear him:
“I have a female daughter, and she is three years old. I manage the Soccer Warriors Football Academy in the Pen Cinema, Agege area. It was in February 2015 that the rape started.
I usually had sex with my boys just to play with them. It was romance. We had fun together. The last one I did was in July 2016, knowing that it could get me into trouble.
I slept with only three of my footballers. There was one of my boys that had not been coming for training since last week.
When I asked after him, I was told that he was sick. I did not know that he had reported to his mother and she had told the police.
I do not know what moved me to be sleeping with them. I have been coaching for about 12 years. My wife stays in the South-East. She left me in March 2016.
The sex with the boys was not for any ritual. I only derived fun from it. I knew it was a crime and that was why I stopped this act since July. I pledged not to go back into this.”
But one of the victims who gave his name as Kenny said Darlington threatened that he would die if he ever told anyone of the act.
The 18-year-old player said he was forced to tell his mother when Darlington made it a habit.
“He always had sex with me and with most of us. He started last year. The first time he approached me was after a training session.
We were on the football pitch and he said my performance was bad and I should meet him at home for a discussion.
When I went, he and two boys were at home. His wife did not stay with him. He sent the two boys on an errand and asked me to come into his room. He then instructed me to remove my trousers, and he molested me.
He did not use any protection. He did not give me any money, but he threatened that I would die if I told anyone.
I cannot count how many times he had done this to me. I told my mother when I was tired of his abuse. My mother reported him at the police station.”
Another victim also corroborated Kenny's statement when he said the coach always slept with two or three of us every week.
Confirming the arrest of the suspect while parading him before newsmen, the State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said Darlington would be charged to court at the end of an investigation.

Adeniji died on Monday, November 21, while being taken to a hospital for treatment.
News of his death was confirmed by one of his children, Bolaji Adeniji.
“He died while being taken to the hospital yesterday (Monday) night. He was a great man, a political colossus, and highly intelligent,” the younger Adeniji said.

The APC is yet to issue an official statement on Adeniji’s death.

A newborn baby cried herself to death after her mother wrapped her inside a carton and dumped it at a refuse bin in Akwa Ibom.

A newborn baby was discovered dead inside a carton after it was dumped by its mother along Ikot Ekpene Road in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State.
According to Child's Right And Rehabilitation Network (CRARN), a Non-Governmental Organization which is involved in rescuing abandoned children and rehabilitating them, the baby girl which was abandoned near a bank, died after hours of supposedly battling for survival.
CRARN narrated on its Facebook wall that the baby had become pale by the time she was found following a long period of crying.
This is what the NGO wrote on its wall:
"One of the witnesses said the mother might have considered the baby to be of evil or she might have been driven by poverty.
There are a lot of children being thrown away like this in recent times because the mothers think they're witches or plagued by demon spirits or maybe for lack of what to feed the children.
A resident of the area, Mr. Okon Isaac, in a bid to buy fuel at a fuel station along Ikot Ekpene Road, said he heard the cry of a baby near the refuse bin, dressed neatly and dumped in the biscuit carton.
Isaac said, 'I have been here since 5:47 am. I wanted to buy fuel from Total, which only sells the product when available between the hours of 4 and 6:20am. After this time, they stop selling or pretending not to have the product.
As I was passing, I heard the cry of the baby. I began to wonder where the baby was crying from, but when I got close to the refuse bin, just off the road, I saw a baby girl neatly dressed and dumped in a biscuit carton.
I could not go to Total in search of fuel again. I stayed behind to observe if the mother of the baby might change her mind and come back for the baby.
And before long, people started to troop in as they heard the cry of the baby. As we live in a period of child theft and selling of children for money, people were scared to touch the baby.
They all stood helplessly; should anyone risk lifting the baby, and the police happen to be around, the individual can be accused of child theft, or whatever.
When contacted, the police reportedly said they were aware of the situation and had contacted the Ministry of Environment for necessary action.
Meanwhile, until the baby died; neither the police nor officials of the Ministry of Environment were seen at the scene."
Cases of child abandonment are becoming prevalent in the society, a clear indication that many do not place any value of the lives of the children.

MMM Nigeria donated relief materials worth N5 million to two Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in the Federal Capital Territory.

The Gwoza and Bama IDP Camp located in Durumi area and the New Kuchingoro IDP camp were the two beneficiaries of the relief materials.
Bags of rice, beans, Garri, as well as cartons of beverages and noodles, were some of the items donated by the group.
The group also donated clothing, drugs, and educational materials for the pupils among them.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is investigating the Mavrodi Mondial Movement (MMM) investment scheme, its spokesperson has said.

EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, also spoke on the House of Representatives order to shut down the scheme.
“We can only arrest people based on the evidence that we have. The House made a resolution but the resolution is a public announcement,” Uwujaren told Daily Post.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had earlier warned Nigerians not to participate in the scheme.

A South African man of God has caused outrage on social media after he was pictured spraying his church members with a can of insecticide.

Another South African man of God, Prophet Lethebo Rabalago, the founder of Mount Zion General Assembly (MZGA), is in the eye of the storm after he used an insecticide called Doom to heal his followers.
Times Live reports that the 24-year-old Rabalago, used the hazardous material to spray on his church members during a healing service, claiming he got the instruction from God to use it for the purpose of healing.

“We are glorifying God. We want God to be seen. We are saying with God anything is possible,” the Limpopo-born man of God who also calls himself the Detective‚ reportedly said after he was photographed spraying Doom on worshippers during a service and a prayer meeting for healing at the weekend.

The act which has caused an outpour of condemnation on social media platforms was justified by Prophet Rabalago and his members who believe they had gotten their healings miraculously after the insecticide was used on the.
Rabalago had allegedly told his congregants that God can use anything to heal people and as such, the instruction to use the insecticide was divine.
“It's not a matter of inspiration. When one is inspired you are copying. It's not a matter of inspiration. No one inspired me. I just believe in God for anything. We can use anything that you believe to heal people.

In the book of Genesis, the spirit of God was hovering over the water. Therefore everything here on earth belongs to God. Petrol belongs to God. Doom belongs to God.
Some people came with injuries but we sprayed them and they were healed.”
The Doom insecticide is one of the most powerful and widely used in that country with strong warnings about the side effects which could be harmful to human beings.
Among the warnings on a can of Doom is that it can cause irritation of the skin‚ eyes and mucous membranes‚ and advises users to keep out of reach of uninformed persons, avoid contact with skin‚ eyes and clothing.

The lorry driver reportedly ran away from the accident in a bid to avoid being lynched by a mob.

An unknown lorry driver believed to be driving under alcohol influence, has reportedly killed two people in Delta State.
The victims include a woman who worships at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and a commercial motorcyclist named Akpojotor Russia.
Both were killed along Eku-Kokori road in Agbon Kingdom, Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state, Daily Post reports.
The lorry driver reportedly ran away from the scene of the accident for fear of being lynched by an angry mob.
He was driving in a vehicle with the registered plate number, XB 700 UGH when he lost control and rammed the pair.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to the Daily Post News, the woman sustained severe injuries which led to her death.

The Bayelsa State Command has arrested a pastor for the alleged rape of an 11-yr-old girl.

The Bayelsa State Police Command has revealed the arrest of a 38-year-old pastor and six others over the alleged rape of a 11-year-old girl and two 8-year-old.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi, made the disclosure while parading the suspects at the command in Yenagoa, Vanguard reports.
According to the reports, the cleric identified as Ogbomo Jerry, reportedly lured the victim to his office at Aduleama in Amassoma community of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state and raped her.
Ogunjemilusi said:
“Also arrested on October 6 was one 21-year-old Emanso David, who is a carpenter, for luring an eight-year-old into his workshop at Igbogene Market and raping her. “He further threatened to kill her if she tells her mother.
“Also on October 14, another suspect, Atika Eguini, lured another eight-year-old old into his house in Okriama Compound in Amassoma and had canal knowledge of her. The victim confirmed that she had been lured thrice by the same man anytime her elder sister travelled.”
Speaking on the arrested rapists, Ogunjemilusi revealed that the other four suspects, Godwin Governor, 20, Kingsley Akpas, 21; Ebikewenemor Aripamone,18, and Harrison Ebibo, were apprehended over the rape of a 19-year-old girl in the state.

According to Cornerl Osigwe, the spokesman of Innoson, “The Innoson IVM G12 series is a highly mobile and tactical pick up van with a double reinforced shock absorber that can show strength and ability to cope with military functions especially in our North-East terrain.”

Osigwe said the IVM G12 vehicles were also test driven by the Army drivers who attested to its rugged nature and suitability for rough terrains.
According to him, the COAS commended Innoson for locally manufacturing vehicles that can serve the specific needs of the military.
He said “Buratai also promised to partner with IVM in producing special purpose vehicles for their military operations.”
“Also we are already collaborating with the Army to manufacture and supply of Armored and Bullet-Proof Vehicles,” Osigwe added.
You will recall that Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing had earlier signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to provide spare parts for its fighter jets.
