Prov. 8:22 says: "The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old." It is clear that Whoever the verse is talking about, GOD possessed/had that Person with Him ever since He Himself existed.

Verse 23 says "I was set up from everlasting..."

You JWs say Prov. 8:22 is talking about Jesus Christ. You also say Jesus Christ was created. If Jesus Christ was created, then GOD didn't possess/have Him in "the beginning of His ways." It means He came into the picture later on.

How can Jesus Christ be with GOD since "the beginning of His ways" and still be created?

And how can Jesus be set up from everlasting if He had a beginning i.e was created?

The early church was faced with a serious problem: How to justify worshipping Jesus without violating the Old Testament, which clearly says there is only one God and only that God should be worshipped. They could not say Jesus was just God in human form because clearly he was not exactly God: He referred to God as his father and prayed to God. This statement refers to the universal curse God pronounced on man and all his creatures because of disobedience. Both men and animals where made out of the basic elements of the earth and their physical bodies is said to return to the earth at death.

Spirit is the same word for breath. The human spirit is that aspect where man communicates with God's Spirit and this is what returns to God at death. Animals do not have this aspect.
