I thought Buhari would do much more to reform the North, as the moderate Kemal Mustafa Ataturk reformed Turkey immensely, so the North can be an asset to herself and a complement to Nigeria rather than a continuous liability.

Alas I and many others were terribly wrong. Can't say which way forward for the North for sure, given the damage done over the past 8 years, but wise and exposed Northerners will know it is unlikely their region and people can make progress under Atiku.

There was one crucial thing lacking that made buhari unable to scratch the surface of any of the things you listed….intellectual capacity!
