For language reasons which is a major issue in Germany, I would advice the UK. Haven been in Germany for about 2 months, I can say it’s not easy for people who don’t have comprehensive knowledge of German or don’t anyone who do.
As all paper work done here are in German language.

Yes the language Can be a barrier but since he said job is secured ,I would say Germany.

1) no school fees until the peak of the kids education

2) no extra hidden charges on health insurance for normal clinic waka sha.

3) you get off work anyhow with excuss of wanting to watch after your kids (don't over push It anyways)

In my opinion If job is secured I would pick Germany over and over again.

Oh and I forgot. Security is another added advantage

Ps. I never stay UK sha. So this is from my stay in Germany

What was the baby's status? And the mother as well? Was the baby with a visa? Or was she with an American passport only? Were there any questions related to the baby's status? Many apologies for my many questions. I really appreciate your help.

Why are you going back and back with your questions.

You asked a question and I answered. And you are taking me back to the beginning again. Obviously the baby is not carrying a Nigerian passport ( no airline would even carry the baby without a visa) the child has an American passport.

No questions were asked . JUst the moms finger print was taken in representation of the child.
I even went as far to tell you that after arrival.(passing the stage of POE) .

While extending the childs stay (which is changing from 90days stay to resident permit) all she was asked was to show a particular amount of money , which was €4k then.

* POE- point of entry

Thanks very much for your advice. Does this mean that there may be some challenge at Frankfurt or Berlin airports? Do they have specific rules governing such cases?
I dont know.
I and my friend (who came in with here daughter) came through Leipzig. I realized small airports are with less stress that's just why I said so.

Good morning house,
Thanks for such a wonderful forum.

I need some urgent insightful advice about my current situation.

My wife received her German student visa last week, and is travelling this week to resume school in Berlin.
Our daughter has an American passport, (not a German visa though), and we know she has access to enter Germany without a visa for short stays up to 90 days. Also, we know that American citizens can update their visas after the 90 days inside Germany.

However, we are a bit in a dilemma right now because a friend in the UK had an experience where their baby (with an American passport) wasn't allowed into the UK with the wife (she had a study visa) on grounds that the mum was in for a long stay whereas the child had access for only a short stay.

Does this apply to Germany for a child with an American passport? How will passport control at Frankfurt treat this situation?

What insight or similar experience do we have on this please?

Advise
Enter via smaller Airports. The baby would be allowed in. The moms finger prints would be taken for the baby at point of entry. Once you get into Germany. She extends the baby's stay with 4k( it might be higher now). She should have any problem.

VISUM ALERT!!!

My story is a very unique one. It's kind of long but I will try to make it as short as possible.

Getting my visa took me 292 days counting from my AD, and I can tell you it wasn't all rosy.

Danke schoen!!!
Victory at the end.
Congrats

You really dont have to be scared about the VO's and start praying for a different room before you get there.
And then you get there and you find yourself in her room its gonna destroy you.

Truthfully all she wants to know and feel is your seriousness ,willingness, readiness and clear intention.
If you notice she asks more personal questions than the normal anthem. Just do your home work and it would be fine.

Always ask yourself :
Why germany
Why a second degree
Why this course
Why this school
Your plans after studying in germany. Ask yourself these questions and try to sound convincing in your head and you would be fine.

That same lady has interviewed thousands of people and they are in germany today , including me and I had the best time with her. I remember ppl said I had all against me ( age, second bsc distance between graduation and time of applying and all) but it was perfect.
she just keeps asking the same question over and over again like she doesn't know what she's doing but she does.
When asked plans after studies I even told her I dont have plans of coming back yet until I finished the peak of my education career. Prior to that people said it was a no no.

What am I saying, dont get scared for nothing. Just prepare yourself. That's all.

For those that got rejected. Sorry about that, repackage and appeal. ( best wishes)

They sent you some attachments. The first is what you need.

i used mawista and buy the MAWISTA Student classic €33.10 because i am 31yrs now and i used November as the date i will start the payment because hopefully i will be in Germany by then..... hope the mawista i go for is private and how can i get exemption and fulfill this requirement [Confirmation of health insurance (Krankenversicherung) with the company number of the health insuranceprovider and your policy number, or for students who are privately insured, a certificate confirmingexemption from mandatory health insurance coverage. You may submit confirmation of health insurancecover after the enrolment deadline] from the school
Since you already above 30 you dont need the exemption . Just your contract from them is all you need.

Why I love AOK... They wouldn't charge you till you have your resident permit and they will still give you the health insurance certificate
Sadly above 30 and a student you go for private but when you compare the €33.10 to €94 somehow I dont mind. Since I no dey sick like that or need a doc YET.

Good evening house, please the Mawista insurance I need some clarification, I have a very long name when I was filling the form, it couldn’t contain my full names as it is in my International passport, so I wrote just one of the names, please is that ok?
Also, method of payment I clicked IBAN and I put my details, again am I on the right track?lastly I intend travelling in November, can I put December 1st as the start month of the insurance or November 1st. My visa interview is in Oct (btw) please gurus in the house kindly help a sister. Big thanks

If you enter Germany in October, mawista will charge you for October.(I opened my mawista on the 24th I was charged for that month cos they asked when did i come into germany and i told them)

If you have three names and just two entered it's fine.

As for putting your details. I dont know I opened my mawista when I got here so I dont know much about that

Visum alert!!!
AM: 16th Aug
Appt: 19th July, cat B (booked May 6th)
Mittweida
Transcript: A friend already posted it here
Ps: The transcripts here were super helpful. Thanks nairaland. Also Turkish airlines is doing N184kish flights to Germany from Abuja. I think it’s even cheaper from Lagos. Go to Turkish airlines directly and not an agent to get the student discount to get that price. And if they don’t agree, call the Abuja office, they have the option of doing everything online.
When Are you arriving and who is your tutor

Congrats

How's the Nigerian embassy in the Netherlands?.

Renewed mine about 2 weeks ago in Berlin and omg, it was chaotic there!!.

Waited the whole day.
Was so swift ,easy and stress less. In about an hour I was done and on my way out with my passport. . I could not believe my eyes

I renewed my passport in the Netherlands about 3 weeks ago. This claim of yours is not factual bro. There are entirely new passport numbers for a renewed passport. Perhaps it just started sha. Anything is possible.

The new type of passport has the slot for previous. So what netherland is giving us is old. But all the same they are all valid.

What I meant was that the passport will have a new number while carrying the old number of the previous passport. I have renewed my passport twice and both times the new passport had its own number and the number of the previous one
Yeah, just saw the new passport type and there is a position for previous passport number .
