OK thank you, more questions; which is better dormitory or private rental? How is the area in terms of student work?

From them say oh.
They always complain no work and their student card doesn't cover the whole state as ours so it stops them from going far.

To me studentwerk is better cos the price comes with everything. In this our cheap area the difference is not much but it's safer you stay where students are.
Don't let anything discourage you, come you can always change.
What happens for one might not be same for another. A year ago ppl refused coming this way said there was no jobs. Now it's a different story.

have not applied for any, can you tell me how to apply?
Are you in contact with your international office?
Just Google studentwerk freiberg, you would see mittweida and freiberg, click on freiberg and apply there.

very helpful, thank u. Your location says mittweida, I am heading to Freiberg, how did u secure accommodation? Can I pm u? thanks again.
Did you not apply under studentwerk.( you ususlly get the notification with your admission letter...but that's for mittweida sha)
Mittweida and freiberg both use the same. It's actually a very simple process.
Let me know how far you have gone.

Thanks for a comprehensive response.

The reason I asked this question is because I don't see myself leaving my family behind.

Having them join after is ok, as long as it doesn't exceed 3months.

I am currently considering the pros and cons of applying for a direct PhD since i hold a Msc degree.

As for funds, I believe I have more than enough to open block accounts for my entire household. If money is the only impediment then I guess I am good to go.

I am currently researching this and I am also grateful for all the contributions here.

Keep an open mind. Don't be fixed on 3months or less.

The reunion visa process takes time.
A lot of verifications to be done.
Have in mind 6 to 9 months.
Don't worry the first three months you won't really miss them because of the stress of settling in but from 4/5th month you start missing them. ( talking from experince)
Think well nd make the right choice.

I told the VO that I plan on taking up an internship position after my masters, after which I would come back to Nigeria to start up a company or take up a job.

I don't think that should be a problem.
I told my VO and also said on my ML that I wasn't coming back to Nigeria until I Attain my academic height.

I remember about few months ago... When I joined this forum, I was asking basic questions like - how can I apply for masters in a German university, how can I find courses I want to do.... I was just asking questions which I'll consider funny funny questions but look at me today people now consult me for help on how to go about these things.....

I will encourage any new person to ask any questions which is confusing them no matter how simple as long as it makes sense.... If people I met here at that time had snubbed or told me off I wouldn't have gotten to this level....
But after this whole thing wetin I gain if I still never gain admission??

I still dey find admission my people and I know say e go soon drop... Applying to the 15th school today after three rejections so far from gottingen, Kiel and Bonn reing sieg University...
It will end in praise....
Las Las you would be here ok.

If you can learn up to B2 in nigeria please do, it's more expensive here, It won't sound the same immediately but in no time you will get it. Some schools have weekend programs and some have crash programs. For A1 I was charged €295 here.

Best wishes

Interview date: 18th Dec.
Then came the long wait, most pple who did interview after me got their AM. @heybaby who told me to “chill” while I was already worked up over the waiting game.

I believe elementary schools like primaries teaches in German. Do they have English speaking schools for kids too

Even the kinder is in German oh. In non English speaking countries getting an English school is difficult. Mostly left for Diplomats kids and the likes, usually very expensive.

@heybaby.

Thanks...
3.5Million in the account

Truth be told i am not 100% sure of the procedure, as we speak my own hand bag dey with her grand parents for Nigeria.
A friend of mine came with her child but the pikin na yanke pikin so there was no embassy wahala. But when they got here she had to show €3.5k for the child at the Office before they issued the child's residency.

My dear this schooling with pikin no be beans oh. It's really not easy. Them no get joy for their schooling here.

Also me mindful of where you going to, some cities won't even help you out. You would do it all by yourself. But my school helped my friend with all she needed for the child (putting the child in kindergarten and all)
Sorry but you have to do intensive research and make the right choice. Feel free to ask more questions. If I can help I will.
Best wishes.

Thanks for finding the time to reply considering this is your exam period. Best of luck in your exams.
No be to apply oh na to show up.
Last year 166 Nigerians applied to my course both the Bsc and Msc(Applied mathematics), 44 were admitted only 7 showered up.

if you have read as u claim you would have seen the answer make una they read IELTS/ TOEFL or proficiency letter is course dependent and not even school dependent . eg a school.might accept only recognised English cert like IELTS or TOEFL for course A and accept proficiency letter for course B so read and read at least the part from page 1 u will be OK finally . also check the school u want to apply to atop talking about two years ago its to far Germany is not static like naija they are dynamic a course in mitweda @heybaby12 school.last winter was a direct admission but this winter its tru uniassist so 2years is enough for things to change in Germany all d best enjoy read back and check daad.De for information
My dear I am just realizing now that both The Bsc and MSC courses are now under uni assit.
In less than a year the process don change

Good job @dailydolar and @heybaby12 for the clearance on HND stuff from what am seeing so far Germany seems very flexible when it to comes to admission

Don't be too sure oh.
Some people apply to 10 schools and get none, some apply to just one and get in.

Like someone pointed out. Most schools are beginning to go under uni assit which makes the game more difficult.

Good day
Do I need a passport with minimum of 6 months validity to apply for visiting visa or can I apply with a passport that has about 4 months validity. The visit period is wishing the validity date?
With minimum six months, it's kinda like a general rule for all embassies.Even for Dubai sef

....

Exactly buh now is more tougher o because almost 95% go through this Uni-assist process so it's of little or no importance to mail the school directly to know if some things can be waived..... like this OND certificate issue...I have searched and searched for schools with direct online application so that I can try convincing if I can apply with my OND certificate buh the best I saw are direct applications for only Masters Applicants.... They really made it harder through this Uni-assist process...

If the school is under uni assit then the matter don change be that. It becomes more difficult

I don't think you can from the best of my knowledge
This ND, OND and HND certs I don't even understand their orders

Even here in Nigeria I think you need to do PDE before you can do masters with HND cert

I have learnt not to use the word can't / impossible for this German skool matter.
Last year someone got Bsc admission with Ond certificate which was said to be impossible.
Same last year someone got admission for Msc with HND nd PGD.
I think the schools matter, the time you apply matters how you package yourself matters and work experience matters.
But if it's a fresh HND with no PgD and no work experience, then it might be harder.
I learnt one thing last year. I wrote down all the schools I wanted to go to and sent each and everyone of them message asking direct question and I got positive response in all. You need to do some homework.
