Can you imagine This is what kidnappers look like these days. They look like normal folks walking the streets - like you and I.

Fresh facts emerged yesterday on how the suspected abductors of the former Minister of State for Education, Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, were arrested by the police.

The kingpin of the kidnapping syndicate was actually nabbed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, in an attempt to flee to Dubai in the United Arab Emirate (UAE).

Apart from the kingpin, whose identity was not made public, another suspect was also arrested in connection with the crime. Police detectives, acting on tip-off and intelligence, monitored the movement of the syndicate’s ringleader.

This made the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali, to inform his Lagos counterpart, Fatai Owoseni, who immediately swung into action, leading to the arrest of the suspect.

A top security source, who was involved in the rescue operation, disclosed that the kingpin was picked up on Tuesday.

He said: “We just monitored his movement as the ringleader of the syndicate and we got intelligence about his movement and that’s how we were able to pick him. When we got the information, the CP Ogun informed CP Lagos and the CP Lagos swung into action immediately and the kingpin was arrested.”

The state police commissioner confirmed the arrest of the suspects when he conveyed Anisulowo to the Government House, Abeokuta, to meet with Governor Ibikunle Amosun on Tuesday night.

Ali said that the synergy that existed among security agencies resulted in the breakthrough. The police boss, who stated that investigation was ongoing, added that the suspected kidnappers would be charged to court on completion of investigation.


Meanwhile, Anisulowo has recounted her ordeal in the hands of her kidnappers, saying that she did not eat during her captivity that lasted seven days. Speaking moments after her rescue, she said she took to fasting and fervent prayer to survive in the kidnappers den.

She said this just as Amosun disclosed that the kidnappers raised the ransom for the ex-minister from N100 million to N200 million because of his involvement in the search.

The 65-year-old former minister was kidnapped on Wednesday, last week, while returning from her farm in Sawonjo, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Narrating her ordeal, Anisulowo, who looked frail and tired, said she only took water while in the kidnappers’ custody.But following the inter- agency collaboration and deployment of intelligence, Anisulowo was rescued about 7p.m. on Tuesday at Gbegbelawo village, near Olorunda town in Yewa North Local Government Area.

She stated that the condition under which she was kept was terrifying and dehumanising, adding that she only had hope in God that she would survive.

Her words: “I’m short of words, but I want to thank God. I want to thank the governor for all the efforts you have put in with the security agencies.

“I know the courage you have and the spirit to fight to the end and that was what kept me in the bush there waiting, that with the security agencies that you have, you will work it through. I thank God.”

In his remarks, Amosun expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, for their personal interventions in ensuring Anisulowo’s release.

He commended security agencies in the state, including the Police, the Army and the Department of State Services (DSS), for deploying sophisticated equipment and intelligence in rescuing the abducted senator.

The governor, who was in company with his deputy, Mrs Yetunde Onanuga, Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, and other top government functionaries, expressed delight that the former National Assembly member was rescued unhurt.

He noted that though the kidnappers demanded N200 million as ransom, no money was paid to secure Anisulowo’s release.

Amosun said: “I have always argued that our security agencies can work, unless they don’t want to. We need to give kudos to God and thank our security people. This, indeed, is a different experience for me; I see the extent to which our security agencies can go.

“If they are given necessary equipment, they will work wonders. This is a huge breakthrough. I think the issue of kidnapping will die down with what they (security agencies) have achieved.

“I think it’s a big shame that we found ourselves where we shouldn’t be; young people that should be working asking for ransom of N200 million. They even said because I got involved, they increased it from N100 million to N200 million.

“They insisted from the second day that their ransom is N200 million. They said they had wanted to collect N100 million and I told them that they will face the law and that it is in their interest to release her.

“They even threatened me and every other person. They said they will teach me, the IG, the Brigade Commander and all others lesson. They were abusing everybody on phone, but we thank God the way it was resolved.”

Gun-wielding operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, who earlier stormed the No 5, Zuma Close, off Aso Drive, Abuja home of former spokesperson of Goodluck Jonathan’s Presidential Campaign Organization and erstwhile Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, have left the place.

An eye-witness who visited the scene of the siege but pleaded anonymity, said, the operatives of the anti-graft agency decided to leave when hordes of pressmen began to storm Fani-Kayode’s residence.

The ex-Minister had earlier cried out today that officials of the EFCC had surrounded his house in a text message he sent to several media organisations. Recall that the EFCC, earlier, sent a letter to Fani-Kayode’s residence, demanding his presence in their Abuja office by 10.00am on Monday, May 9, 2016, to explain his role in the presidential campaign funds of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2015 presidential elections.

The letter was signed by Mr. Mohammed Umar Abba on behalf of the EFCC acting chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu.

It was gathered that Fani-Kayode, in a letter through his lawyer, had assured the anti-graft agency that he would duly honour the invitation, even as he had several times insisted that he was not hiding from the EFCC.

Few people get to meet their mentors and role models in life. So imagine my joy when not only did I meet my mentor, but also talked to her. It was a dream coming true for me literally, when Mrs Tolu Oniru Demuren invited me and some other girls and a guy to an informal hangout to talk radio.

It all started on Sunday morning. I had been unable to sleep because I kept wondering how I was going to fulfill my dreams especially of becoming a radio presenter. I didn’t know anybody in the business and had no idea what the dos and don’ts of the industry were. I wondered if I should just give up on that dream and move on but prayed for direction all the same. I finished praying and started browsing (I was actually instagraming) and there it was. It was past midnight and I was surprised to see a post from Toolz. Apparently, she had been getting a lot of questions concerning how to present and be an OAP. So she thought it’d be a good idea to host a few of her fans interested in radio presenting. I was ecstatic. This was the sign I had been looking for. I quickly sent in a mail half expecting to be picked and I guessed I would be one in a hundred or thereabout to send a request to be invited because who wouldn’t jump at being possibly tutored and mentored by Toolz.

Fortunately for me, I was selected to be one in sixteen other fans to attend her #AskToolz hangout. Time seemed to have slowed down waiting for the day to come and when it finally arrived, I was so anxious, I almost didn’t attend. But then my curiosity and eagerness to meet Toolz overweighed my anxiety and I went.

Getting to the venue of the hangout, I was overwhelmed by the welcoming ambiance and the diversity of characters that were in attendance. They were beautiful, smart and passionate young women like me with the same love I have for radio. I talked to a few of the girls and found out that some of them had other careers or studied a course different from Mass Communication in the University but were still interested in pursuing their radio career. It was amazing to see likeminded young people fighting to keep their passion alive and it really inspired me

Toolz got to the venue and I was awe struck. I decided her pictures didn’t do her any justice and she was far more beautiful than photographs portrayed her to be. And the myth that she was snobbish and arrogant was quickly dispelled too as soon as she opened her mouth to talk. She was so sincerely interested in what we had to say and she listened with attention to our hopes and dreams. It was like talking to one of your big sisters and I couldn’t help but draw on some of the confidence and enthusiasm she naturally exuded.

She advised, cautioned and encouraged us to go after our dreams. She set records straight about some assumption we’ve heard or had about the industry too. And to crown it all up, she fed us. We were treated to the most delicious Chinese cuisines and enough water and drinks.

After #AskToolz, I have come to some conclusions. First of all, there is no price to pay for dreaming big and reaching for the stars. Your personality and attitude is the lasting thing about you so cultivate the right attitude and be yourself. Also, never strive to be famous because fame is not everlasting. Plan and device methods and means of achieving your aims step by step too.

All in all, I cherish meeting my mentor in the radio business and setting some facts right. The Oliver Twist in me can’t stop asking for more. More time with Toolz, more Chinese delicacies and more platforms like these from other celebrities. PEACE!!!!!!!!!

A man was forced to eat his own camera's memory card after being caught filming under women's skirts. A woman was riding on the metro in Nanjing, eastern China, when she caught the pervert using special equipment to film up her skirt, the People's Daily Online reports.

The man ate the memory card and ran as soon as the subway doors opened.....The suspect turned himself in to the police on April 22 after the Nanjing Public Bureau posted a message on its Weibo account looking for eyewitnesses of the incident.

There has been so much hullabaloo on LIL KESH leaving YBNL by the end of May. Some news site used the word dump others used even more appalling adjectives for this not so big of an issue. Then he dropped the bomb, he is indeed leaving.

First, lets understand what a record contract is. This is a legally binding contract between an artiste and the label where the said artistes makes records for the label to promote and sell. Now this contract has both exclusivity and territorial clauses in many, that is to say, such artiste can only record songs for the said label and if need be that another label needs the services of their artistes, this can only happen with the permission of the label.

Having said that, here are four reasons why I feel Lil Kesh should not have left YBNL
1).Loyalty: Like I said earlier, friendship between label and their artistes is a very delicate one and with this first point, one would easily think this loyalty deals more with Lil Kesh but instead its more on Olamide’s part. We all can remember the embarrassing issue which happened at this year’s Headies awards, when Lil Kesh, who many believed should have won the next rated award was snubbed. The young man, in a very professional way congratulated the winner and sat down without much visible fuss until his boss took the stage and made the world know just how much he’s got his boy’s back. Can anyone really forget the in less than minutes trending words Olamide used on the stage? I doubt it. Olamide, a young man himself, not caring whose ass is gored made his disappointment known, resulting in the most talked about social media war of the year 2016. I mean who dares fight with Don Baba J, if not Baddo himself. Yes, his loyalty for his boy was beyond comforting and I must say, I doubt there is any other label who would manifest such legendary and epic loyalty to Lil Kesh.

2).Belief: In his new album, Lil Kesh said it himself, only Olamide believed in his music from the start. Olamide, saw the potential in him and took him up. He made is first single a Hit and did not stop there. Olamide made sure for every single dropped, It was a hit back to back. How many labels can dare say there artiste had hits back to back? Except of cos for one (Story for another day). It is one thing to be signed unto a label who sees that a record or two can be made from you, it is another to have a label who believes in your passion, craft and person in general, and we all know what it means for a dad to believe and even tell his son that he has so much faith and believe in him. Olamide, is the one boss I know will push Lil Kesh to the limit to ensure massive success.

3).Fountain of creativity: Even as writers we get writers block, so does artistes. Him being among artistes who sing his type of music is an extra point not to leave the label. Creativity being staunched will never happen for this young man should he stick with the right click which is the YBNL group. The influence of Olamide rubs off well on Lil Kesh and with the kind of music they both do, the sky is just the starting point for Mrmeyagi, should he remain with Olamide Baddo.

4).Consistency: Only Olamide will and can push Lil Kesh to drop songs consistently, so why not remain with the man who knows and understands the trade perfectly well. Consistency is the major key to having a wonderful music career and he is sure to get it with YBNL.

These are just my thoughts though, am certain both parties thought things through and came to their final decision.
