Sports / Antonio Conte Blasts Chelsea Players After 4-1 Watford Loss by HotnaijaMarket(m): 7:51am On Feb 06, 2018
Virgil Van Dijk has assured critics he has no struggles with weight – either his own or that created by the transfer fee following his big-money move to Liverpool.

The Holland international has endured a mixed start since becoming Liverpool’s record £75million signing in January.

At times he has looked commanding, yet he was poor in the FA Cup against West Brom, dropped for the trip to Huddersfield, then gave away a last-minute penalty with a clumsy challenge on Erik Lamela against Spurs on Sunday.

In addition, Van Dijk has had to field questions about his weight and training regime after Jamie Carragher suggested he did not keep himself fit enough during the protracted transfer from Southampton.

But Van Dijk moved to assure Liverpool fans they will see a return on their investment in time and urged them to be patient while he gets up to speed.

“I have been out for eight months – last January until September I didn’t play at Premier League level,” he said.

“It is not easy to come back, especially when I have made such a big step as now with all the eyes on me and they look at every small detail.

“But I am just focusing on the team and myself. Other people will talk and have their opinions. There is nothing I can do about that. I will just try and enjoy my game and enjoy being here and that is what I am definitely doing.”

Carragher claimed Van Dijk had “not hit the ground running” adding the defender “needs to get fit and lose a bit of weight – he actually looks too big”.

In response Van Dijk has invited the former player to pop down to the home dressing room next time he is at Anfield.

“Then he can see if I need to lose some weight,” he said.

“I don’t think I do.”

The weight of the transfer fee is not a problem, either.

“It is pretty easy for me and I am pretty calm on that,” said van Dijk.

“You are always going to have that [pressure and scrutiny] but the most important thing is what happens here with the people who care about the team.

“Other people around – fans of other clubs, pundits – they can have their opinions, but it doesn’t really bother me.”

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp conceded last week their high-pressing style is different to what van Dijk was used to at either Southampton or Holland, and both men admit grooving a new style of defending is going to take some time.

“The football we play, the pressing, the different options with players – it is totally different,” said van Dijk.

“You need time to get used to everything I am working on it every day together with the team. I want to improve and get the maximum out of myself.”

Business / How To Find Time To Build Your Ecommerce Empire While Working A 9 To 5 by HotnaijaMarket(m): 3:34am On Feb 04, 2018
I know first hand how difficult it is to work a day job and still manage to be a “sidepreneur”. There is a significant lack of time to run an ecommerce business while working a 9 to 5, and you still need to commit yourself first to your employer.
I’m here to tell you that the good news is that it’s very much possible to grow and create a successful ecommerce business on the side. Many others before you have done it and I’m going to show you how you can, too.
The Struggle
If you’re working a 9 to 5 and want to start an ecommerce business on the side, the first struggle most people encounter is what product to sell. Generally, people working a full-time job and looking to start an ecommerce business want something “easy”. Low commitment, easy to source or manufacture, and something that can be sold with little maintenance and work.
While this is the ideal, don’t let your ideals prevent you from selling something you truly believe in, are passionate about or think would be a huge success. Check out our guide on how to find a product to sell online and go from there.
The Struggle
But the real struggle every sidepreneur encounters is simply finding the time and making the time for their side business. It’s not going to be easy. If you want to see your ecommerce business become successful, you can say goodbye to most of your evenings and weekends.
So, while this all sounds brutal and difficult, the long-term payoff of creating a successful ecommerce business on the side is tremendous. These struggles are just barriers and challenges you must, and will, overcome.
The best part is that this can be done.
Why It’s Possible
The first thing you need to realize is that it will take time. Starting your ecommerce business on the side means that it will grow slower than if you went into it full-time, which means that all the growing will be done in chunks when you make time for it.
Why It’s Possible
You have your weekends and evenings, use them. Your weekends and evenings allow for you to work in these small chunks and grow your business in chunks.
Your income from your 9 to 5 also allows you to invest in your ecommerce business. This gives you a significant advantage over those that are dropping everything to run their ecommerce business and those that are unemployed and trying to start a business.
The advantage you have as a sidepreneur over full-time entrepreneurs is that what you’re doing is a lot less risky. If your business fails, you still have your job to fall back to, and even use your previous failure as a learning experience to quickly get back on your feet with another venture. This is especially important if you have obligations to your family, have a mortgage or any other critical responsibility.

Sports / Bordeaux Not Willing To Sell Malcom As Arsenal Look To Replace Man Utd B by HotnaijaMarket(m): 11:37pm On Jan 19, 2018
Alexis Sanchez is on his way to Manchester United but Arsenal will not be able to replace the Chilean with Malcom this month after Bordeaux refused to sell.

That’s according to The Sun, who say the Ligue 1 club are hoping their star man is called up to Brazil’s World Cup squad to increase his price ahead of a summer move.

Malcom is on Arsenal\'s radar as they prepare for Sanchez’s departure and the north Londoners have already held talks with the attacker and his representatives over a switch.

Bordeaux are unwilling to entertain a deal for the 20-year-old at this stage though and club chiefs have warned the Gunners off trying to snap him up.

Arsenal are not the only Premier League side who’ll be disappointed by Bordeaux’s decision not to sell £40m-rated Malcom.

The Sun claim Mauricio Pochettino is a fan of the Corinthians academy graduate as well and wants him at Tottenham.

Sports / Live Match Report:- Gabriel Jesus In Floods Of Tears Over Serious Injury And De by HotnaijaMarket(m): 11:52pm On Dec 31, 2017
The league leaders must now wait to find out the severity of a suspected knee injury suffered by their star, whose World Cup could also be in jeopardy

Manchester City suffered a disastrous day of injuries as Gabriel Jesus was substituted off in tears and Kevin De Bruyne was stretchered off in stoppage-time in their 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace.
Brazilian attacker Jesus was visibly upset on the sidelines and had to be consoled by head coach Pep Guardiola, before Sergio Aguero replaced him in the 23rd minute .
Initial suspicions were that it could be a cruciate knee injury, similar to those suffered by team-mates Benjamin Mendy and Ilkay Gundogan, and he is reported to have left Selhurst Park on crutches.

Sports / Did Nike Leak Coutinho's Move From Liverpool To Barcelona? by HotnaijaMarket(m): 2:04pm On Dec 31, 2017
The sportswear giant appeared to leak the Liverpool star's move to Barcelona before later deleting the page in question
Barcelona are seemingly preparing for the arrival of Philippe Coutinho as Nike appeared to confirm the Liverpool star's signing on its website on Saturday night.
Liverpool fans were left sweating when the giant sportswear manufacturer and Barcelona apparel sponsor appeared to leak the blockbuster transfer via its online store.
Advertising customisation of Barca's 2017-18 kit, a caption read: "Philippe Coutinho is ready to light up Camp Nou. Get your 2017-18 FC Barcelona kit with the Magician's name on it. Act fast – free personalisation only available until January 6."
Nike later deleted the page and it remains to be seen whether it was a PR blunder or online hacking.
Coutinho has been at the centre of a drawn-out transfer saga as Barca try to lure the Brazil international away from Anfield.
Barca reportedly had a £115 million offer for Coutinho turned down by Liverpool in August but the La Liga leaders are believed to be readying another bid in January.
Embed only: Barcelona - Coutinho Nike leak
A deal worth £125m is reportedly in the works, with Liverpool more open to selling Coutinho at the turn of the year than they were in the summer.
Indeed, Liverpool were blindsided by Barca's approach in pre-season, with Coutinho central to their planning for the new campaign.
However, time has softened their stance and allowed for proper planning to be conducted - the Reds have already agreed a deal to sign midfielder Naby Keita from Red Bull Leipzig in the summer, and have also completed the protracted signing of Virgil van Dijk from Southampton for a world-record £75m.

Sports / No Goals, No Confidence, Man Utd's 'black December' Goes From Bad To Worse by HotnaijaMarket(m): 9:10am On Dec 31, 2017
Romelu Lukaku was stretchered off early as Jose Mourinho's side were frustrated once again after rounding off 2017 with another draw
On December 2, Manchester United came away from Arsenal with a 3-1 victory which suggested their season might be just getting started. But, only four weeks on, they find themselves lost in a no-man’s land, with Romelu Lukaku’s head injury in the 0-0 draw against Southampton creating yet another problem for a team rapidly losing their way.
An embarrassing League Cup exit to Bristol City followed by successive 2-2 draws against Leicester City and Burnley had made the visit of Mauricio Pellegrino’s side a must-win for the sake of the players’ confidence and the supporters’ belief that something – anything – can be rescued from this campaign.
Lukaku had headed over an early chance from six yards out after Juan Mata’s cross from the right and appeared set for an evening of heavy involvement against a slapdash Saints backline. However, Wesley Hoedt’s clumsy late header into the back of Lukaku’s head ended the United striker’s participation in the eighth minute.

The Belgian barely moved as he was carefully dealt with by the United medical team but was thankfully seen speaking to the physios before eventually being stretchered from the field with an oxygen mask over his face following a full six minutes of treatment.
Romelu Lukaku Manchester United Southampton
With no Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the 18-man squad after his no-show of a performance against Burnley on Boxing Day, it was left to substitute Marcus Rashford to lead the line for once. However, while the young England striker showed plenty of endeavour in the Southampton half, he all too often failed to get a shot away when the chance presented itself. He has failed to score in six appearances but displayed the confidence of a player who hasn’t found the net in 66.
In all likelihood, Rashford will be asked to pull further weight in that spot in the weeks to come given that Ibrahimovic has looked a long way off even half-fitness since returning from a career-threatening ACL injury in November. Anthony Martial has also played the role in times gone by, but – like Rashford – he has excelled more as a wide attacker than a centre-forward under Jose Mourinho.
Paul Pogba Manchester United
The quandary as to what happens in the forward line during Lukaku’s inevitable lay-off is just one of a number of issues Mourinho has to face up to in the coming days.
He takes his side to Everton in less than 48 hours knowing that more dropped points could see them suddenly slipping ever nearer to a fight for Champions League football when just a few weeks ago they appeared nailed on for second spot behind neighbours City.
Sports / Top 10 Wealthy Homes Of Footballers You Know by HotnaijaMarket(m): 12:52am On Dec 31, 2017
10. Willian
The Brazilian winger joined Chelsea in the summer of 2013 for a ludicrous fee of £31 million, but he has failed to live up to the expectations.

Willian is talented, no doubt about that, but he has never been able to light up the games, just like he used to when he was playing for Shakhtar Donetsk. But he can’t complain; the Brazilian has a nice house and a couple of months ago he posted a picture of it. It is huge, fancy and with a pool inside.

9. John Obi Mikel
Despite managing only five shots on target in four seasons for the Blues in the Premier League, scoring just one league goal in his entire career at Stamford Bridge, John Obi Mikel is living life to the fullest.

With an annual salary close to £6 million, outside profits from endorsements and commercials, the question is: how do you spend all that money? Mikel has bought some expensive cars and also owns a huge mansion in London.

8. Luke Shaw
Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw rents a fabulous five-bedroom mansion owned by Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. Shaw is thought to be paying the Portugal ace £7,000 per month.

The house is located in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, has an indoor swimming pool, steam room and Jacuzzi and also it has its own gym and wine store area. The mansion sits on a private road and has a gated entrance. Use your money Luke!

7. Peter Crouch
The towering English striker might easily be one of the most traveled players in the Premier League. Peter Crouch bought a £4.5 million mansion in 2011, and it wasn’t that hard for him to splash that amount of money since he was earning £80,000 per-week at Portsmouth.

His mansion boasts a gym, a cinema room and a swimming pool and the house is located in Pretsbury. The house has a large kitchen and 10,200 square foot of living space.

6. Oscar
The Brazilian playmaker took the world by storm in 2012 with a superb brace against Juventus in the Champions League, but has struggled to replicate his form this season. With the Serie A champions eying up a move for Oscar, the future of the 23-year-old midfielder seems far from certain.

He can’t complain, though. The Brazilian earns £90,000 per-week, allowing him to buy a £1.1 million house in Surrey, a very nice one.

Inter are keeping a close eye on developments around Henrikh Mkhitaryan's situation at Manchester United with a view to potentially signing the Armenian, according to Sky in Italy .
The former Dortmund star has fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford in recent months, with Inter seemingly weighing up whether to make a bid for the winger.
The Serie A title hopefuls are also interested in Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu and PSG midfielder Javier Pastore as they look to improve their squad in the January window.

Social media advertising is now a core skill that businesses need to master. It sits next to email marketing and content marketing as a core competency that the marketing team needs to have in their toolkit.
The top social media channel that most digital marketers have as their “go to network” is Facebook.
But Facebook ads come in all shapes and sizes. Boost posts, create awareness, capture leads, drive traffic, grow your likes and many more. It is complicated and often confusing.
That means you can waste a lot of money fast.
So how are other organisations spending their dollars on social media advertising?

Business / How To Turn Readers Into Revenue? by HotnaijaMarket(m): 5:20am On Sep 19, 2017
How do you turn readers into revenue?
It’s the question content marketers around the world ask themselves. It’s the question ecommerce marketers and entrepreneurs ask themselves before starting a blog.

Let’s deconstruct the question and work backwards from the money. Here’s your step-by-step guide to turning your current (or future) readers into cold, hard cash.

How much money did your content make you in 2016?

If you know the answer to this question, congratulations! You’re likely within the top 10% of content marketers in the world. If you’re like most people, though, you weren’t able to answer the question confidently.
You might know the number of pageviews you racked up or how rapidly your email list grew, but those are not monetary measures of success.
After talking to countless frustrated content marketers, in the ecommerce space and beyond, about how difficult it is to measure revenue generated through content marketing, I’ve invented a formula.
Wait. Inch away from that Close button. I promise this won’t involve any confusing math; I was an English major.

Business / Why Customer Lifetime Value Matters by HotnaijaMarket(m): 5:06am On Sep 19, 2017
How do you measure your online store’s success? Do you typically focus on things like sales and revenue?
While these metrics are useful for tracking the short-term performance of content and campaigns, they don’t always paint a complete picture of your business’ future. Even looking at your current sales numbers can sometimes leave you with just a fleeting glimpse of your true financial situation.
Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) is one of the most important factors in determining your business’ present and future success. It’s an often-overlooked metric that can accurately predict how much your customers are really worth. By measuring the net profit that you’ll take in over the course of your entire relationship with a customer, you’ll be able to narrow down exactly how valuable they are to your business.
CLV gives you crucial insight into how much money you should be spending on acquiring your customers by telling you how much value they’ll bring to your business in the long run. Rather than just racing to keep your head above water, you’ll be able to understand which customers you should be focusing on and, more importantly, why you should be focusing on them.

Why Is Customer Lifetime Value Important?

Business / What Is A Psychological Pricing Strategy? by HotnaijaMarket(m): 12:19pm On Sep 15, 2017
Simply put, it's a strategic way to price your products or services to influence people when making a buying decision.
It isn’t clear how psychological pricing came into common use, but we do know that the practice arose sometime during the late 19th century with newspaper pricing competition.

Companies big and small sometimes have teams dedicated to pricing products—and in some cases, a psychological pricing strategy is built in from the ground floor as part of their brand marketing.

Here, we'll take a look at how Apple has used pricing as a part of their overall marketing and product strategy to land them in the high-end hardware market.

No one wants to hear bad news. Especially if it’s a customer complaint.
But what if you could stop customer complaints before they happen? No, we’re not suggesting you break out the Ouija board and crystal ball just yet. All it actually takes is a little empathy and foresight.
We’ve put together a collection of the most common sources of customer complaints (and how to fix them) to help you create a better shopping experience for your customers before they have the chance to get frustrated.
As a bonus, we’ve also included three email templates that you can use to handle complaints if things do end up going sideways.
Complaints can be a useful tool for discovering where your business needs to improve, but it’s much better to be able to get that insight without upsetting a customer at the same time.

Business / Common Marketing Mistake You Should Avoid Before You Cramble Your Business by HotnaijaMarket(m): 11:48am On Aug 18, 2017
You would agree with me today that business owners are becoming more comfortable than others financial wise. What better way to enjoy yourself other than running a business of your own and deciding how the money would be used.
Well, owning a business, like every other thing is not a bed of rose. Many business owners are seriously making some marketing mistakes that will affect them in a horrible way. The purpose of a marketing plan is to define the necessary steps to achieve your business goals. There's actually a big difference between writing out something that sounds good and something that actually works.
As a business owner, you need to be practical, smart and innovative when making plans to run your business for a long time!
Here are common marketing mistakes and wrong assumptions that could actually ruin your business if not avoided:

1. Depending On Ideas That Worked In The Past:
As a business owner, I hope you do realize that change is the only thing constant in life. Some business owners actually believe that if something isn't broken yet, no need to fix it! They forget that this is in no way a good strategy. That's not to say that you can't build on previous successes, but if you simply expect past successes to continue, you may fail to identify new opportunities or address new issues that are now potentially threatening. Many companies try to ignore competitor innovations and focus incorrectly, on incremental improvements to their existing product lines.
Do you remember how Blackberry dropped from being the dominant smartphone manufacturer after they sold Blackberry Messenger (BBM) to android producers? They saw themselves as makers of things but forgot that their job was to keep improving those things. And then their competitor thought of themselves as customer satisfaction companies, and focused on what customers want and went ahead to provide.

Here's a tip, ditch analogue marketing/research and go digital. People no longer buy newspapers/magazines like before. Everything you do, check online for ideas and to see what customers are saying about your type of product or service. That way, you get to evolve your business as the world evolves.

Business / Why I Choose Marketing Over Advertising? by HotnaijaMarket(m): 9:01am On Jul 28, 2017
Marketing is the heart of any business; it is the rigid part of any company or Organization. Marketing and advertising, how are they done? Do they mean the same thing? When contacting business owners or pitching a companies for aim of business, I opt the use of advertising most of the time and use marketing or promoting, more people seems to have more understanding on marketing than advertising. Basically placing stuff like images and banners with some featuring on it to attract your readers/subscribers to click or buy a product. Though, this objects or items are being static in a position and they come in different format like rotation/animation advert, projected advert, banner advert and the rest. Advertisers are crafty in the best sense and ways they position this items.

So many people easily get enticed or distracted by displayed adverts, about 75% spends 1 or 2 minute of their time reading or viewing advert both online in the internet or offline in their environment. Funny to say, even human beings has made themselves an advert. Take for example, prostitute (harlot) do advertise themselves, if they don’t they will not have much traffic (customers). How do they do this? They stand in a wide open place seductively enticing passerby, some are lured and they click on the advert (lol, let not get too far). I won’t deny the fact that adverts is very good to businesses and it has made new blog gain traffic in less period, business to gain, grow and become known in a short time.

What in for marketing when advert can do all that? Why do I say I prefer marketing over advertising?”
I don’t need to study business/commerce subjects before knowing business issues but I have carried out physical practicals pertaining to this subject matter and my hypothesis are written, which I used in propounding this theory am about to disclose right here. I will only summarize this aspect because I have the full drop down coming soon “why I choose marketing and not advertising?” with that you will get more from that.

Market is a place for business which base majorly on buying and selling anything.
