A word is enough 4d wise! Lolzzz...Samson, Solomon, Joseph & other great men in d bible would attest 2 this truth!! |
One day, a young man was having an evening conversation with his dad, and out of curiousity he asked, "what is it that can kill any man, is it a gun?" The dad answered, "not at all. A gun can only kill someone if used by somebody else." The man was amazed at the wisdom in his dad's answer, but his curiousity lingered on, "wat is it then that can kill any man, I guess even cutlass or any other tool would not, on their own?" "You are very correct", was the dad's reply. "Wat about a man eating or drinking sth poisonous?" The dad still gave a negative answer with same reason he mentioned earlier. Having had a successful academic life and a very good job, this young man decided to introduce a lady, he is so madly in luv wit, to his dad as his wife-to-be. After the introduction ceremony at the sitting room, the dad called his son into the bedroom and the following conversation ensued: "Lately, I realised u are now in possession of sth that can kill any man!" The young man became confused and his curiousity was ignited once more. "What is it, dad, tell me, so I could tread with caution, please?" The dad smiled and said: "Don't worry, I prepared a charm which, if hung on the wall of your room, would prevent such thing from killing you, but it has a repercussion." "What is the repercussion, dad?", asked the young man. "Make sure, under no circumstance should the charm fall on the ground from where it would be hung, else you would die in a matter of hours." The young man heaved a sigh of relief, thanked the dad for being a very caring father, and promised to keep the charm safe. On the night of his honeymoon, after an elaborate wedding ceremony, the man said to his wife: "Honey, there is sth I would like to confide in you, being the only person I can trust." The wife asked what was bothering him and he said: "Knowing that I am a very successful man, I was given a charm to hang on the wall of our room, by my father, so my enemies would not be able to kill me." "Are you serious? How does it work?", asked the wife. "In as much as that necklace on the wall doesn't fall to the ground, nothing can kill me", he said, pointing to the wall of his bedroom. The wife promised not to tell anybody their little secret. On a fateful day, the man had a very heated quarrel with his wife. Wife: "I noticed how your secretary at work has been all over you, of late." "There is absolutely nothing going on btw us", said the man. "You better not toy with me, else you would wish you never knew me", the wife replied. Out of anger, the man slapped the wife and before he could realise what he did, the wife ran to the bedroom and pulled the charm to the ground, and said, "I guess u re better off as a dead man." Having seen what his wife did, the man ran to his father's house, knowing he has just few hours to live. "What is the problem, son, why the panic?" asked the dad. "I have only few hours to live, my wife pulled that charm to the ground because we had a quarrel." The dad smiled and said, "calm down." "I am not kidding dad, I am going to die any time soon, and u re smiling!" said the young man. The dad replied, "you are not going to die, I only tricked you, in order to let you know one thing in life that can kill any man!!" |
True Soldiers, that's who they are. Living wit d thought that u could breathe ur last any moment on d battle field, isn't funny at all. My heart & prayers re with them. O'LORD, give our troops victory over d uncircumcised Philistines. Amen. |
To a man respect means so much, & even more 2 a yoruba man. Be respectful & u'd win d heart of a yoruba folk. To me, 'how re u' is a wrong form of greeting cos d Older shud check up on d younger, & not d reverse. There is a student I mentor who always ask dat question whenever we re chatting, & I cringe whenevr I hear/read it. Lolzzz... I remember greeting a Director-General of an Organisation(Yoruba by tribe) 'hello Prof', & it didn't go well at all. Meanwhile, itz a sign of being more respectful in d university. We just need 2 know that respect means a lot to some people & they read it 4rm your every word & gesture. It could be harmless, but if ur aim is 2b respectful, then d other party's reaction should be all that matters 2u, & not if u don't see any problem with it. My one piece. |
Yes, we know he was very active in spite of his health challenges, lyk u sed, cos u(Turai) were virtually ruling d country! |
When I hear d insecurity tinz ppl say about Jos, I wonder if itz the same Jos where I'm based. I doubt if anyone who lives in Jos would say there is no peace in Jos. All d time u hear issues about insecurities, itz always not in Jos but outside Jos. Trust me, Jos is a place u'd luv 2 pitch ur tent. Go 4 J-town! Moreover, Christains re far more than Muslims in Jos, but u can't say that about KD, where it took a miracle 2 even have a Christain Governor!! |
So basic & on point. Thanks, Jarus. |

"How can we remember our ignorance which our growth requires, when we are using our knowledge all d time?" Thoreau Most times ppl don't really want 2 know how much u know, but how sincere u can be! Sorry 2 say, sincerity is lyk a gold in Nigeria. Left 2 me, he shud have just given d idea he has about it & admit ignorance. I saw arrogance, despite ignorance in d man's response!! |
Nairalanders will not kill person...wat if they re reading all these posts? LolZzz |
Had a meeting wit Stella Damasus last sunday titled Entertainment & God. Hmmm...all d tinz she sed in dat meeting just buttress d fact dat most of our churches have failed us. Was speaking wit my uncle who is a Pastor in RCCG & was surprised 2 know that he's got a lot about d running of d church dat he isn't happy about. For example, he gave of himself 2 build one of their schools in abuja witout collecting a dime(even working till late nights), only 2 be denied d report card of his child, later, cos he was owing just five hundred(500) naira. He really felt lyk crying then. The way ppl re baring out their minds recently, I smell sth big is going 2 happen soon. |
Left 2 me, religious organizations shud pay taxes 2 goverment. Only God can tell how much d nation would get 4rm them on weekly bases. D freedom is just 2 much. A storey building close 2 my house has about four churches using it. Is it not d same Christ that is being preached? It is now more profitable 2 quit an oil job just 2 open a church. May God almighty help us. |
http://www.goal.com/en/news/1716/champions-league/2013/03/06/3802815/cakir-likely-to-miss-out-on-champions-league-final-says: Cakir likely to miss out on champions league final, says Turkish former referee Serdar Tatli believes his refereeing compatriot has all-but-blown his chances of presiding over the Wembley showpiece following his controversial call on Tuesday A Turkish former referee has claimed that Cuneyt Cakir's hopes of refereeing in the Champions League final have been dashed in the wake of his decision to send off Nani in the second leg of the last-16 tie between Manchester United and Real Madrid. The 36-year-old official has been accused by some in the media of making the wrong call after he chose to dismiss the Portuguese winger for what he saw as an excessive high boot on Blancos full-back Alvaro Arbeloa. Speaking after Tuesday's match, Serdar Tatli - a former Uefa referee - expressed his regret that Cakir's actions at Old Trafford may well have cost his compatriot the opportunity of presiding over a European curtain-raiser this season. "Nani is looking for the ball. By the time Alvaro Arbeloa arrives, the Portuguese [Nani] doesn't even see him," he told NTVSpor. "The action is definitely not deliberate. As his intention was to only play the ball, it should have been a yellow at the most. "I am proud as a Turk to see Cuneyt at this stage, but he lowered his chances of a European Cup final last night [on Tuesday]." |
At Old Trafford, winning is our pride! Beware Real Madrid. GGMU. |
The real World Best Footballer is a player that can 'individually' change d tempo of a game. Who else, but CR7 is capable of such! Without Iniesta & Xavi, Messi is just an above average player(not excellent). Hala Madrid!! |
Is it true dat Abramovich is gay & he is in luv wit Torres...dat Benitez was brought solely 2 revive Torres A Manutd fan just passing by & wondering! Lolzzz |
We are united! At d theatre of dreams, we make dreams happen!! GGMU |
He would certainly be a quitter & not a winner. Why would he want 2 leave @ d peak of his career? But dis one he is beginning 2 have fever after losing a match...hmmm! |
This is d best time 2 come 2 nairaland. Have I missed much? Wat is happening 2 d 'tikitaka' club? Hahahahahahahahahahah...d real World Best made his presence felt in d big game, but d fifa(fake) World Best was no where 2 be found! I earlier thot he was on d bench sef!!! Dancing Azonto & sipping my wine! |
Arranged a date wit her. After buying everything she wanted 2 eat, I summoned d courage 2 bare out all dat has been on my mind 4d past 2-3yrs. It was really a sweet experience, though I was still a 'Learner' sha! |

Praying & hoping AC Milan wins. Watching Barca lose a match is sth that gives me great satisfaction-I just can't explain y! |
Why should he date a lady older than him self. Whether premeditated or self-defence, he has entered one chance. So sorry 4 him! |
Oh Arsenal!!!
|
If this true, then itz a very gud news |
Am I the only one that noticed he is a Manutd fan? I have always known that Manutd Fans re extraordinary. lol. Kudos 2 him. 4 all d others talking about their own feat, instead of celebrating success(whether big or small), stop d hating!!! |
GOAL!!!! |
U've said it all! oluwadare26: He shud to be blame ofcouse! Or do u want to blame me? I'm pretty sure the Nigeria officials would warn him to disembark, but he refused.., i cant imagine, u played late in d night on sunday., partied 2ruout d night, travelled by air on Monday, get to play on Tuesday against an Italian Champion who taught "Chelsea" Europe defending champion "lessons" and he expect he's going to play well...? Y ur mates are still in abuja calculating how to develope their sites. |
Dis Celtic Coach shud have rested Efe Ambrose nau. D guy must have been so tired after playing 4 Nigeria on Sunday. See how Juventus re just taking advantage of his lapses! |
Hmmm! Pleasing Nigerians is lyk a 'horse passing thru d eyes of a needle'. Wateva u do as a Leader, they will complain. Same way d Super Eagles were treated in their group stage matches. Very very very few Nigerians had faith in them against all odds! God bless our President!! |
