Programming / Re: Is C++ Still A Relevant Programming Language Today? by inspire22great: 4:53am On May 09, 2021
@Kimjongun please what is then ones best shot to get in Nigeria software development labour market?

" For someone who didn't study Computer Science or an experienced programmer and is looking to get into the Nigeria software development labour market as fast as possible C++ is not your best shot "

Kimjongun:
Learn C and thank me later.

Although thanks to Covid there are remote positions for C++ developers now, but you can hardly see Nigerian companies using C++ directly. C++ is used for heavy softwares, and since what we do mostly in Nigeria is web and mobile app, you can easily do these with frameworks that has abstracted the heavy lifting that C++ is good at.

If you are planning on using your skill to look for job here in Nigeria, learn any of C, JavaScript, Python, Java, Kotlin, PHP, etc

C++ is not outdated, the latest version of C++ is C++20 and the community are already working on C++23.

New projects are being built with C++ daily.

You can do everything and anything with C++ but the problem is you have to be a very good programmer to be productive, because C++ doesn't have all the cool frameworks you see in most languages, or even when it has, it may not fit your need.

For someone who didn't study Computer Science or an experienced programmer and is looking to get into the Nigeria software development labour market as fast as possible C++ is not your best shot

These are examples of cool opensource projects created in C++

https://github.com/chromium/chromium
https://github.com/google/filament
https://github.com/envoyproxy/envoy
https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorflow
https://github.com/nginx/nginx
https://github.com/scylladb/seastar
https://github.com/scylladb/scylla
https://github.com/nodejs/node
https://github.com/mongodb/mongo
https://fuchsia.googlesource.com/fuchsia/

And many more, most softwares that are relevant are built with C++.
C++ run the world, but you need to be really good at it

To add to this, last year before the pandemic I get two offers consecutively one from Netherlands and one from Dubai, the Netherland offer is a car company looking for C++ guys for their computer vision works, the Dubai guys were into enterprise solutions, but because of my situation at the time and I fear the stability of both offers. I hold on to my Naija job

Software/Programmer Market / Re: Robot Programmer For Forex Needed by inspire22great: 4:38pm On Jun 12, 2019
sekesi2009:
Well, am sorry if it's confusing. I'm a newbie in forex trading. I subscribe to a paid daily signals service which am getting everyday, the performance of which is impressive. Now, occasionally, some trades will go against you and before you know it, you have lost about 50, 60 or 80 pips. So, to the professionals here, pardon me if I call it bot or robot, but I need one of those to be hedging trades for me once the initial trade signal is not going in the direction I want. I just need a robot /bot that once installed, should be able to detect this and immediately open same trade in the opposite direction. Thanks

I am a forex trader but a interested programming person and it will require a programmer who is a trader to understand what you specifically want, the whole idea of what you want is if the signal is a buy signal for a currency pair but the robot/dot identify that the position is on negative from the entry point to a negative of 20-25pip,the robot/dot should automatically open a opposite position of the initial original buy signal, which is a sell position of the same currency pair to make you be in the trade but in the opposite direction of the original signal provided

What you require to get from a programmer needs a programmer to understand also the MT4 or MT5 platform for forex trader use to trade the forex market,MT4 & MT5 are created using programming language,so they have to know the language use in order to enable them create a robot/dot to specifically meet what you want to achieve

I hope i kind of make sense,if at all you don't get a forex trader who is a programmer, get a programmer and let them relate with MT4 and MT5 platform

UBER AND TAXIFY are at each other as competitor's in e-transport business, yes competition is great yet the aim of making fare charge of riders low in other to make riders use one more than the other is greatly affecting the car owners and the drivers, the car owners and drivers are important part of what will make both Uber and Taxify make money but when everything is affecting the car owners and drivers doing the business, then a ground or soil and grass will not be left for the both elephants to fight

THIS POST IS AIM TOWARDS EVERY BODY THE THE E-TRANSPORT INDUSTRY @UberNigeria @Boltapp_ng

If people like you find yourself in the banking industry where some pple have made profitable, you are still gonna complain about how unprofitable it is.

Bottom line, leave e hailing for those who know how to do it.find something else.if commercial vehicles use that much fuel in a week,I doubt we would find any yellow bus when we are in our way out.

When you say you spent 28k on fuel and made 40k, is the 40k what you had left after buying fuel. And as for the engine service, did you use mineral or synthetic oil?

I am requested to answer this question

At the third week of work,i spent 18k of my personal money and because i got more cash ride than card ride,i send 10k from money i made for fuel,so i use 28k for fuel,i made 40300 as recorded on the driver's app but i had a 3k offline trip,so that sum up to 43k for the week,i did not remove my personal 18k for fuel because if i do that from the money made for the week,i will not be able to pay the car owner,it was at this point,i told my self that i have had enough of the car and the whole arrangement,in this week,i worked from Tuesday to Sunday

As for the engine service,i got in touch with the owner to know the type of oil he use and he said i should get Mobile oil XHP,the blue regular 4 liter Mobile oil,the Mobile oil sold for #4800 naira,i really don't know if it is mineral or synthetic oil

Nice.

Salient points raised, but in your lesson (2), you said the Driver-Owner Agreement should cover for dents on the vehicle, i.e, that the Owner should sign that whenever his/her vehicle gets dented, he will be responsible for fixing it.
I don't think that's a good clause to insert into the agreement because, that's just like encouraging the Driver to be reckless and careless with his/her driving, since he/she will not be the one to fix whatever damage is done.

But again, what do i know

People who say what do i know always know so much and i respect these people a lot

The provision of that clause is to have a common place of settlement of both parties,i believe a driver personality is important to how a car is carefully maintain and taken care of,i am a driver with a careful personality that even rider client do assume i just start to drive because i am very careful as i drive in order not to dent a car but almost at every occasion one drive in Lagos and trying to keep a car dent free that others users using the road with Okada,Keke Napep,Yellow big and small Danfo, all these categories of most users have almost little or nothing to loss so they drive rough and then a couple of private car driver's too are also rough, with all this against a Uber/Taxify driver,a car owner should be considerate and be fair with a driver who is careful enough,a Uber/Taxify whose personality is reckless and careless will definitely be rough with a car and that will impact negatively on the drive rating because riders will give feedback on how a driver drive and the general appearance of the car when riders sees the car they requested for,the clause is not to encourage a driver to drive recklessly because a reckless driver can not do Uber/Taxify

All i am saying is fairness to minor dent and complete understanding from a car owner point, car owner should know that no sense able drive will go out and just go denting a car owners car for the pleasure of it, likewise every car owner should explain what type of insurance cover they are using so that drivers can know how the insurance cover the things that happens to there car and work effectively with a car owner

Toyota Camry 2003 has 2 versions: 4 cylinders and 6 cylinders.

Maybe it's the V6 version(6 cylinders )
You were supposed to go for four cylinders.
Na you look for trouble.

The one i drove is a 4 Cylinder and it was part of my decision to take the car, still the car fuel consumption is high and i will say a big daddy of either 4 or 6 cylinders is a complete NO NO for Uber/Taxify business

Car Talk / My 3 Weeks Experience Driving A Toyota Camry Xle 2003 by inspire22great: 8:25am On May 10, 2019
I got into a agreement with a car owner on the 15th of April 2019 to drive his car ( Toyota Camry XLE 2003 ) on Uber/Taxify platform, the agreement was a weekly rental agreement of 35 thousand weekly remittance with 5 thousand as support for service and maintenance when the car is due for service and maintenance.

The weekly remittance start from the first week of work

1st week
I did not work too well but i send 13 thousand on fuel and make 22 thousand due to this is my first experience using Uber and Taxify driver app to work, also i had to use the whole 15th of April for Taxify training and 16th of April for washing of the car both engine and inside and started working properly on Wednesday, but i still deliver the weekly payment to the car owner on the 22nd of April 2019,i remitted 35 thousand

2nd week
I work using 23 thousand naira for fuel and making 30 thousand naira for the week
I noticed the working state of the car on the next paying day to car owner and talk to other driver in the business who knows much more than me about cars and i was told i need to do services and maintenance of the car,i reach the car owner and told him that the car needs servicing because the engine is leaking oil from the top,the car owner says he will only support me with a 5 thousand naira for servicing,i had to plead and beg before he ask me to use 10 thousand naira from the 35 thousand naira weekly remittance,i took the car to machanic for servicing and spent 13 thousand 500 hundred naira, the car owner ask me to send him 25k after informing him what i spend and i send him 25 thousand naira for the second week on 29th April 2019.

After all this,i call him for renegotiation of the agreement to weekly 25 thousand naira remittance with reasons but he did not accept,so i continue

3rd week
I work using 28 thousand naira for fuel and making 40 thousand for the week and i remitted 35 thousand naira to the car owner on 7th of May 2019 and make a decision to drop the car back to the car owner after having enough of the whole thing on the 7th of May 2019 and above all the insensitivity of the car owner to whether i am getting anything out of the working relationship and i had to give the car to the owner for my peace of mind

Toyota Camry XLE 2003 that is know as big daddy is a high fuel consumption car and not advisable for Uber/Taxify work

MY LESSON

1, As a driver who wants to either get a car from a car owner for either rental or hire purchase, please do your due diligence in research about the car, consult a specialist machanic on the car working state, know the fuel consumption capacity of the car and never sign a agreement in a hurry

2, As a driver have a written terms and conditions for the car owner too,the car owners agreement document should not be the only one to de signed and agree upon, the driver must have a written document stating what the car owner must agree also, for example if the agreement is a rental agreement, the driver should include in his agreement document that the service and maintenance is completely the owners responsibilities because the car belongs to the car owner and if the car owner wants the driver to immediately starts remitting the first week of driving the car for work, then the car owner must buy a full tank with a addition 5000 thousand naira for fuel in order for the driver to remit the first week of working and some other form of agreement, even to the point of dent on the car that a car owner must agree to because driving in Lagos environment or in Nigeria is crazy,if the driver of the car owner don't go looking to hit or dent the car, there are always car, keke, danfo or bike drivers that will hit ones car or dent ones car,let the car owner know if you don't want your car dented, then please don't give it to me to drive

In summary a driver should have a written document as agreement for a car owner to sign in order to protect one self as a driver either a rental or hire purchase arrangement.

3, As a driver never let a car owner feels he is doing you a favor or you are at his or her mercy, rather let each party know that we are both in an agreement to get something out of and there have to be top most respect for one another with compliment to agreement signed by both parties to achieve a great working relationship.

I don't have a car i am driving now so i am looking for a car to drive on Uber and Taxify platform,i have a registered account on both platform

I have a 17 years old maid who would be 18 in June. She came when she was 12 and she is like family now. She is in SS1. My problem is her issues with boys. Always keeping boyfriends of which I discourage her big time. Had to ask her why she keeps them, she said because her classmates/ friends have boyfriends.

I have screamed and threatened but she will still keep. What am I doing wrong? Should I allow her just keep them? I teach her sex education though but she says she isn't sexually active. Today, I saw the picture she and the guy posted on facebook holding each other. I lost it today. I flogged and punished her. I'm I being too hard? How do I help her? We wanted to help her till university days but with these, we are scared and reconsidering sending her back after ss3.

How best do I handle this situation.

I please beg you with God that you serve that you do not send her away to her parent, likewise do a Google search about girls that got pregnant or NGO that supports young girls that got pregnant and are in a state of regret to counsel her about the part she wants to take, another suggestion is to ask her to make you know her boyfriend since she does not want to stop having a boyfriend, and talk to the both of them by counseling them both about the possible outcome of their decision, ask the boy that if you get her pregnant,is he ready to face the responsibilities of taking care of her and the baby, likewise make a written agreement with her that if she gets pregnant, that she will be sent back to her parents also in the written agreement let her parents and her boyfriend with her sign it and if possible with other witnesses, infact even a police officer.

Please ma, always ask yourself,if she is your biological daughter, you will never think about sending her away and you will never give up on her, finally don't listen to the send her away thought in your mind and the send her away advise from people who don't care, above all pray for her and make her understand you care enough about her life and the choices she will be making about her life
