Health Workers Suspend Strike

Nigeria’s Health Care Proffessionals under the aegis of the Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals (NUAHP), on Thursday in Enugu called off its three-week nationwide strike action.
The union had embarked on industrial action since 6th of March, 2017 as they asked the federal government to address the unhealthy discrepancies in the running of hospitals in the country.
The union which comprised Physiotherapists, Dental Therapists, Dental Technologists, Medical Physicists, Health Information Officers, Dietitians, Medical Laboratory Scientists, Radiographers, Optometrists, Pharmacists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Medical Social workers and other healthcare professionals also demanded among other things that federal government and its personnel should obey the judgment of the National Industrial Court. The National President, Dr. Ogbonna Obinna Chimela announced the suspension of the strike action at a press briefing shortly after the meeting of the Union’s National Executive council held at National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu.
He said the suspension of the strike was hinged on consideration of the poor citizens of Nigeria who could not afford to seek treatment outside the country and a court order to that effect.
He also said suspension of the three weeks indefinite strike followed series of dialogue with the Federal Ministry of Health and stakeholders and among others consideration for the poor citizens of Nigeria who cannot afford to seek treatment outside the country.
According to him, the NEC of the union decided to suspend the strike even as it called the federal government to implement immediately areas of agreement and initiate meetings to conclude the outstanding issues within four weeks to avert resumption of strike.
According to him some degree of progress over some demands especially the ones that were within the FMOH such as; “revamping the infrastructure in the tertiary health institutions; professional autonomy where the FMOH agreed to implement all Court judgment without delay; enhanced entry point for medical laboratory scientists and radiographers, the FMOH agreed to verify this and correct it for deserving officers without distortion.
On the backlog of promotion arrears and CONHESS 10 skipping, “the meeting encouraged hospitals affected to implement payment within the 2017 budget time line. The residency training for other health professionals was also approved.
“Sabbatical leave for healthcare professionals as contained in the public service rule (PSR) was approved and call duty for health information managers and Dieticians was also approved in principle but was referred to NSIWC for advice.”

A lot of people think different things about God(who is also Jesus)Religions say something about Him.Atheists also suggests something aboutHim.Even in the ''Christianity'' as well,people think differently about Him.
Muslims say He is only a Prophet;that God cannot have a ''son''.(I school in Kano State).Atheist say there is no God.I read on nairaland of one who claimed to be "burning " for God and later resolved to be an Atheist after his "expectations " where not met or the other one saying;He had seen no sign of God working in the Hospital(as in healing for those who prayed)since he became a medical professional. Sometimes, they ask "important" questions like"if there is a God,how come there is so much evil in the world"?Hmmmm.!!! And sometimes you may not have immediate answers or the Bible may not literally answer the questions but you have to trust God,because others have also suffered and endured.
The world only understands what makes sense to it(u wont blame it),thus,if it doesn't makes sense to our sense,then it doesn't exist.But do remember 1Cor 1:21-31 and 1Cor2:9-14 Pls Read

I saw a post of a guy who converted to Islam that said he was a Christian before the conversion. Went to check his christian history.Found out that he always went to church and that is what he and many people refer to as "Christianity"
Note that:Even Jesus before the coining of the word "Christianity" never gave an identity for the believers except that they were Children of the Most High.So there may be many "church goers" but few "children" or "Christians" as the case may be.
So if you are a Christian in the house,this is for you;WHO DO YOU SAY JESUS IS TO YOU?...?. Do remember that "fellowship with God is born out of REVELATION not PRECISION."
Ask yourself this question, so that no one will make you have doubt and like Apostle Paul,you would boldly say,"I KNOW WHOM I HAVE BELIEVED "2Tim1:12.
Finally 1Pet3:15-16 says," consecrate the Lord God in your Heart,that you may give an answer to all who ask for the 'REASON' of the HOPE which is in you with meekness and fear,Having a good conscience,, that whereas,they speak evil of you,ad of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
Also,1Pet3:13-"And who is he that will harm you,if ye be followers of that which is good?"

The African Union Mission in Somalia, AMISOM, on Thursday confirmed that the leader of the militant group al-Shabaab has surrendered to government forces in Baidoa town in southern Somalia.
The AU mission confirmed that Hussein Mukhtar surrendered to the Somali National Army (SNA) on Tuesday following a government amnesty offer for militants to surrender.
“AMISOM calls on Al-Shabaab fighters to heed the government’s amnesty,’’ AMISOM said in a statement.
It called on al-Shabaab militants to lay down their weapons and join the Somali people to rebuild their county.
“AMISON hopes that other sons and daughters of Somalia who have been misled into terrorist acts will emulate the courageous action of Mukhtar,” it said.
The Somali government announced an amnesty offer in 2014 to members of the al-Qaida linked group al-Shabaab, which had been launching attacks on government forces and AMISOM.
NAN recalls that Al-Shabaab once controlled much of southern and central Somalia and imposed a harsh form of Islamic law that banned music and led to public amputations for accused thieves.
Government and African Union troops have recaptured most of the territory, but the militants were still able to kill several members of parliament last year, and launch two major assaults on the presidential palace.
The Somali government first offered amnesty to al-Shabaab fighters last September, after al-Shabaab’s top leader, Ahmed Godane, was killed in a U.S. airstrike.
Since Godane’s death, al-Shabaab’s leaders have been divided, but it has remained a strong fighting force and challenge to the Somali government.
In words directed at the militants, then president Hassan Mohamud said he knows many al-Shabab members joined for “reasons that made sense at the time,” including the need for money, or a sense they were proving themselves to be good Muslims or good Somalis.
But, he added, “What you did does not have to dictate the rest of your life.”
Mr. Mohamud acknowledged some Somalis are uneasy about amnesty for al-Shabab members. He said those who defect go through a process of “supervised rehabilitation” and are monitored by Somali security forces to ensure they continue to reject the militant group.
He asked Somalis to “accept the need for concession and to exercise forgiveness” in order to close “a dark chapter in Somalia’s history.
