50billion was APPROVED by the FG, 30billion was DISBURSED After 11months of request. The state government had already deploys state money EponObi: As per Oyo state right, they requested 50b naira.
The FG gave them 30b naira.
What's the issue with this? Why are you dragging the FG? |

Yeye talk, zombies will still wail. I prefer the governor's approach. Federal Government should provide clarity on the remaining 20billion approved at the federal level and maybe explain what crisis another southwest state had to be given 150billion. The state has record of 24billion spent so far. chicfarmer: I don't care what zombies or anybody else thinks. Apply the money judiciously and KEEP YOUR RECORDS. You cannot let your people's development stall because of what your political opponents will say. In fact he would be foolish to return that money even if the balance is not released to him. Use the one that has been released to work for your people and keep your records of how the money was spent. Simple. When your opponents make noise, you drop the records for them, that's all. |

It is well. Let FG clarify if it was still going to remit the balance or not. 50billion was approved for a purpose. FG should give clarity. Oyo State should withdraw it to it's coffers after the completion of the Bodija reconstruction but should not spend state money beyond 30billion already remitted. chicfarmer: So are you going to return the money? Shey the money cannot benefit Oyo state people again? |

All this long post just to spew ignorance? A current account get yields? Project money is not complete but you ask him to touch it? Seyi Makinde is wise to use state funds for now. EponObi: Na you be zombie for failing to see Seyi Makinde did nonsense.
Road construction, dam construction, statue construction, BBL construction, whatever construction, the fact is he kept 30b intervention fund idle for more than year and didn't utilize the resources. Is this not looking like "attempted looting" if not for the Fayose expose? And every defense of Makinde keeps pointing that Fayose might be right.
I know it's difficult for you to see but it doesn't look good on Seyi.
He denied getting 50b naira from the government and didn't mention he got 30b either. That's the point he started losing it.
In short, Seyi Makinde gave First Bank taxpayers money worth 30b naira to use for their own operation, for free. Let drag this further. Let's speculate how much FBN made from the 30b naira deposit, without incuring any value to the Oyo state people. 3b naira? 6b naira? 10b naira?
In fact, Sergio Ramos na amateur wey you dey. Kundus to you! |

Mr Epon, 50billion was approved, 100billion was requested but 30billion was disbursed. Try not to dey sleep while reading EponObi: Nah! You are the one out of your depth. You lack comprehension because the post wasn't directed to you.
Seek the explanation from Seyi why he's feeling entitled to a fund he went to Abuja to request; a fund that's isn't the legal right of his state.
If you requested... Read well before running kitikiti to reply with answers without head or tail.. If you "REQUESTED" for 50b naira as intervention fund and you were given 30b naira, why is your benefactor being accused?
The FG didn't appropriate 50b.
Seyi Makinde REQUESTED for 50b.
The FG gave him 30b.
Whoever requested for a bribe at the Federal level should be named, else, it's all fugazzi to cover up the attempted fraud and look for an escape route from the silliness and ridiculousness of keeping 30b that was GIVEN to you as cushioning effect in a private bank for 1 year.
If you can't still see the entitlement, I can't help you.
Again, the FG didn't promise or appropriated 50b to Oyo state. Seyi requested 50b, the FG gave him 30b. Understood?
And again, can you speculate how much FBN made using the 30b for their operations in the last 13 months? If I'm to guess, I'd say they made nothing less than 20% profit. 😋 Soft work! |

Man, comprehension is an issue for you, I can see. It's stated in the op that the intervention fund was received almost a year after the incident but still not full as approved federally with no explanation. But the STATE GOVERNMENT HAS SPENT ITS OWN MONEY to compensate victims and rebuild Bodija and its environs. According to them, 24billion has been spent already. chicfarmer: So you no know say you can execute road project in phases? Okay, what if the balance is not released until his tenure expires? Will he return the money to FG? Who lose then? As he requested for 100bn and 50bn was approved, wasn't he going to accept what was approved? In the same way, the smart thing to do na to apply the 30bn that was released to critical areas of the rehabilitation while awaiting the balance. So if this matter no burst open like this na so e for dash the 30bn to bank indefinitely. Do you know how much bank done make so far from that money? Makinde no use him head for the matter at all. I no dey defend nonsense abeg. |

Bro, check the Fiscal responsibility act2020. Don't fill this place with ignorance. State have the right to seek intervention fund to cushion the effect of crisis such as this. It's not a political largesse. VanuatuWycombe: It’s not obligated. Get your facts straight. Show me proof where it’s obligated. Share when it is written in our constitution that FG is under compulsion to pay such.
Show us such special intervention account being kept by FG, on behalf of all our 3 tiers of government. The one opened by GEJ as Excess Crude Account for special intervention was notified by court and state governors forced GEJ to share what’s in it. |

Now that it has been provided, go and access it. Get anybody wey u know for central bank to ascertain the figures. Mr "it could also be" , you are sure of nothing. If you are interested in the truth do your findings. You will still come back ignorant cause you never actually can prove what you wish was true. Seyi Makinde is a different politician. VanuatuWycombe: Rounding computer charges. Ask people handling Impersonal Accounts reconciliation in CBN or with CBN, when such transfer was made. It’s what I did when I was working in bank. How I wish someone at CBN, Ibadan Branch can come out to verify this.
Even at FBN level, if the state has opened it with a rounded figure, it can’t remain exactly N30B. Let them show us which other state government account is taking charges on this newly opened account. How do they reconcile such accounts? They only used this revelation to bamboos us.
This statement could be run in a dummy mode of the bank Flexcube or whatever software is being used. It may not be from a production (life) environment. It could also be Oluwole too. Why wait till 31/12/2025, before running it? It should have been run the day they admitted 30b was transferred, with a mandate that allows any member of the public to access the account at any of FBN branch. |

Why did the FG not deposit the full amount appropriated at the federal level. That's some corruption going on at the federal level. They did not give explanation for giving 30billion instead of 50billion that was officially approved. The governor has done the right thing. FG should show transparency EponObi: You go explain tire. Why not return the fund to the FG is he doesn't need it? |
Politics › Re: Bodija Explosion: FG's ₦30bn untouched, ₦20bn yet to be paid - Oyo Govt by JOLLOFman(m): 11:35pm On Jan 01 |
You need to learn. It's emergency fund that is OBLIGATED by the constitution. It's not a political giveaway. Please use Google at least or keep shut VanuatuWycombe: The FG is not under any obligation to even give him that 30billion. Listen to yourself nah. It’s like a beggar coming to your for 50billion and you gave him 30billion. Now someone is blaming you for not giving the beggar the full 50billion has asked for. Was the 30billion given to your messiah part of his constitutionally-approved monthly allocation?
FG knows the reason it didn’t release the remaining 20B. Your governor could have been doing what the ruling party don’t like, after collecting the 30billion.
Now the beggar didn’t spend the money at all, after a year. It means the beggar didn’t need the money, in the first instance, otherwise, the money should have been ‘utilized’, as usual.

That is the problem with politically motivated gesture. Federal Government should have stipulate what the Fund should be used for.
Long, Medium and immediate Term. Now Makinde got money, he don't know what to do with it.
Now F.Govt has a reason for not releasing the other 20b. Hello, the Oyo State government has already utilized state money of UpTo 24billion and could not wait for Federal Intervention funds which only came a year later |

Sir, I am from Oyo state and my governor has done NOTHING WRONG regarding this issue. He has compensated the victims and has committed state funds to rebuilding. The federal government should explain why it refused to disburse the whole relief fund ad why it took it a year. Please, reason and don't with your hands shutdown an accountable governor like Seyi Makinde Berankis: If Makinde is truly smart as he claimed (because I like him, though I am disappointed that a youth like him has shamed us. We are no different from the corrupt elders we blame dail), he should have apologised to the people of Oyo State, the Victims of the explosion, the FG and Nigerians at large. According to Ephesians 5:29
“Therefore a man shall leave (this leave here is emotional attachment) his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
once you get hitched, your wife automatically becomes your first priority. Your wife’s opinions and input should take precedence. But GOD help you if you marry the wrong one.
After your mother got married to your father, he became her first priority.

Break it down.....How does this affect corrupt politicians? Did the policy stop them buying dollars for 2months? So there are no corrupt bankers? You mentioned Buhari? Who was the beneficiary of Bullion van 2019?? Was it dollars or Naira deployed at APC primaries? Any one with corrupt cash e.g 10 billion will find a banker or bureau de change willing to clean it in Nigeria unless it is not the Nigeria we all know it's not always the Nigeria you know, Bros. Good things can happen in this country but unfortunately we have corrupt minds as citizens. You guys can't be blamed though. Nigerians have been plagued with unceasing corrupt practices by the political elites. However, rid yourself of negativity and embrace hope. The new CBN policy as a whole will work positively for the country if supported. The fiscal laws recently enacted in furtherance of the touted cashless policy are tactful enough to keep banks on check! The CBN is doing what they are constitutionally empowered to do: checkmate the commercial banks. Follow the various measures laid bare by the CBN to retrieve the old currency in circulation, you'll see it's not business as usual for corrupt bank practices. The new notes were limited by the CBN, tactically. They want the old notes in exchange for little new notes. Nigerians should e-transact the difference. The poor and average Nigerians have nothing to lose. The 20000naira physical cash withdrawal limit will MORE THAN suffice for most of us in a day. |
