Politics / RCCG: The Delusion Of Broda Dele On Osinbajo Plus Putting God To Test by Joylove2324(f): 6:48am On Mar 13, 2022
By Kehinde Adeoye

When last did Broda Dele Momodu attend any Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) parish? We know him to be a freelancer that goes anywhere! And the last public knowledge of him ever attending a church was seeing him wearing a sutana belonging to white garment churches, which we know is not representative of the RCCG membership.

Knocking on different doors of churches, entering from one's front door and exiting from another's back door, climbing one prayer mountain to the other, to consulting with one prophet here and there is called 'religious prostitution' which is likely to be what Broda Dele did that made him enter any RCCG parish he may now want to lay claim to. Please, sir, who is your pastor?

What RCCG has done as a church should be a challenge to every Christian denomination. Just recently, it was announced that an office of the Directorate of Politics and Governance will be created and would be replicated all over zones and parishes around the country in a bid to encourage Christian participation in politics.

The biased news going around in some quarters is that the special department was created solely to support Osinbajo's 2023 Presidency. One thing not clear to Nigerians, especially some Christian critics is that this is beyond Osinbajo. This move by RCCG will not only create a long time awareness among RCCG members but will also spin other denominations to key into the same vision and developmental agenda for governance in Nigeria.

So, even if the spirit leads the hierarchy of the church to throw its weight behind Osinbajo, who can dispute the Spirit of God? Is it not the direction the Holy Spirit leads that the church and its leadership follow again? Broda Dele, as a Christian, this is alien to you, until you now test God?

Chief Dele Momodu had claimed to be a bonafide member of RCCG. Perhaps he should be told that membership is not by attending out of convenience or showing allegiance out of contrivance. His earlier write up against the RCCG was a very self-serving post. What sort of a son writes such a derogatory open letter about his father and brothers in the Lord? With this attitude, I doubt if he may go far with his presidential ambition.

Prof Osinbajo is not only a bonafide member, he is a Pastor and was heading a church, that is, he was in charge of the Lagos Province 48 (Olive Tree provincial headquarters) of RCCG before he became the Vice President on May 29, 2015. Let’s not mislead the people for the sake of an ambition. It will only make it worse.

Chief Dele Momodu has declared his interest to run for the Presidency under the People's Democratic Party (PDP), but he is a threat to no one. He even has no chance in the race considering the number of high profile politicians jostling for the Presidential seat. Osinbajo's credentials alone are enough to sink his ambition and put it to rest.

Even, Dele Momodu's presidential aspiration has always been a national nuisance. The last time he tried in 2011, it was a complete disaster! Still, I wish Dele well in his future endeavours.

Politics / 2023: Osinbajo Will Communicate Stance Officially Soon — Laolu Akande by Joylove2324(f): 11:02pm On Mar 08, 2022
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will officially communicate his stance on the 2023 presidential election, his spokesperson, Laolu Akande, has said.

Mr Akande fielded questions from State House correspondents shortly after photo sessions with the vice president who marked his 65th birthday on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He said that at present, Mr Osinbajo is focused on supporting President Muhammadu Buhari to deliver in addressing Nigeria’s challenges.

“Well, like he has said up to this time, he is committed to the work that he is elected as vice president and to support the president.

“ That is what he is focused on now; and like I have also said in my last tweet, whatever will be his activities or whatever he would do will be communicated officially,” he said.

Mr Akande said that the vice president, based on his observations in the last seven to eight years, was driven by the notion that the government and governance and leadership ought to have a heart of justice and a heart of service.

“He often says in most of the meetings that we hold that the reason why we are here is because people put us here.

“ We are here in the interest of the people; so, he is someone that is committed to that notion of service to the people, whether in government, whether as a pastor, whether as a lawyer.

“In every aspect of his life, he understands very diligently the idea that we are here to serve.’’

He said that Mr Osinbajo had always emphasised on the need to create impact for the people.

According to him, the vice president is very inspiring and worthy of leadership.

“As you can see there are many more Nigerians today that are yearning to say that this is the kind of man to follow.

“So, happy birthday, vice president,’’ he said.

Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Ade Ipaye, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State who also featured in the photo sessions with vice president, paid glowing tributes to him.

Mr Buhari had earlier in a birthday message, applauded Mr Osinbajo for his loyalty and dedication to duty, especially in supervising the nation’s economy,

Politics / Presidency: Groups, Northern Youths Ask Osinbajo, Emefiele To Contest by Joylove2324(f): 7:17am On Mar 07, 2022
No fewer than 180 support groups on Saturday gathered in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital to mount pressure on Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to join the 2023 presidential race.

Also, a coalition of youths from the 19 Northern states and Abuja on Sunday, asked the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Governor, Godwin Emefiele, to contest the 2023 presidency.

The groups supporting Osinbajo, made up of professional bodies, said the Vice President possesses the qualities and the charisma needed to lead the country from 2023.

A leader of the All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State, Ita Toyo, disclosed this while answering reporters’ questions after reading a communiqué issued at the end of the Uyo event.

“There are 180 support groups and all are calling on Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to contest,” Toyo said.

The communiqué issued at the end of the event read, “While we await his decision, we shall intensify our drive across the country to raise partners and supporters for him. We shall equally continue the process of building structures in all the wards to bring to reality our dream of Osinbajo presidency.

“We call on all our members from across the length and breadth of Nigeria to storm Abuja on March 26 to demonstrate to the party their love and support for this patriot and nationalist.

“We call on Mr President to stand solidly behind this tested, loyal and true apostle of him and ensure that a man of conscience like him who truly abhors corruption succeeds him to continue where he stops.”

The groups further resolved to “align with the Kano Declaration” to mobilise funds to purchase the APC expression of interest and nomination forms for Prof Yemi Osinbajo in furtherance of our total commitment to the noble course of compelling the Vice President of Nigeria Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, to contest.”

They also resolved to appraise current political trends in the APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission’s timetable and engage more prominent Nigerians, the academia and civil society groups among others on the need to elect Osinbajo as the next President.

A coalition of youths from the 19 Northern states and Abuja on Sunday, asked the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Governor, Godwin Emefiele, to contest the 2023 presidency.

The coalition, comprising 40 groups from the region, said they would work for Emefiele to succeed the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

The groups noted that Emefiele’s ingenuity in his introduction of the Anchor Borrowers programme for rice farmers across the country endeared him to their hearts.

The programme, the youths said, had pulled hundreds of the poor from the poverty lane over the years.

The groups’ spokesperson, Aliyu Sani, while addressing journalists shortly after a rally held in Kaduna on Sunday to drum support for the CBN boss, noted that Emefiele’s policy formulation has over the years assisted greatly in growing indigenous industries such as Dangote, Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited, Olams Industry, Vicampro, Tomato Jos, and Gujeni Integrated among others.

Sani said, “The Unified Northern Nigeria Youths Forum is a coalition of 40 socio-cultural, socio-political and socio-economic groups with members spread across all the wards of the 19 Northern states and the FCT Abuja.

“The essence of our gathering and street procession today is to call on Mr Godwin Emefiele, the serving Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria to aspire for the number one seat in the country to enable him to consolidate on the gains our country is making.

“Reasons for calling on him to contest include but are not limited to the fact that he introduced the Anchor Borrowers Scheme which has helped to massively reduce poverty that was seen to be endemic in our region through the provision of farm inputs and one digit interest rate facility.

“His policies have enhanced the establishment of many industries in our region worthy of mentioning are, Dangote Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited, Olams Industry, Vicampro, Tomato Jos, Gujeni Integrated, Iron Ore Mining and Processing Plants, Tiamin Rice Mill, MAFA Rice just to mention but a few. This also has created employment and wealth in our region.”

Politics / 2023: Osinbajo Campaign Posters Floods Bauchi by Joylove2324(f): 6:58pm On Jan 08, 2022
A group identified as Osinbajo Support Movement has flooded Bauchi state with campaign banners and posters of Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as President 2023.

As seen viral in major part of the state, the posters carries different pictures of Prof. Osinbajo with caption of he running for President in 2023.

In areas like, CBN round about, Wunti round about, Emires Palace round about, Central Market round about, Awalah round about, Jos Road roud about, APC Secteriat and some major streets in Bauchi towns. Prof Yemi Osinbajo posters are seen in numbers.

Major stakeholders and political analysts have rooted for the Vice President as a notable, qualified and worthy successor of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

The group further established the assumptions and various political analysis that the Vice President might run for President in 2023. Although, the Office of the Vice President has noted that Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has not made announcement that he will be interested to run for President in 2023, yet, major political aroma and directions points to him as the GCFR in 2023.

In Bauchi state, commuters were seen acknowledging the posters and banners with waving of hands and major discussions in favour of the VP to succeed President Buhari.

The group coordinator from Bauchi state, Mr. Honorable İbrahim Bello when contacted noted that, “Yes, we are behind the banners and posters as you can see our name on it. Our principal is Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and we have received directions from the national level of our group ably led by Mr. Liberty Olawale Badmus. This is one of the efforts to ensure VP Osinbajo succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023. He has proven us all capable to paddle the affairs of Nigeria, so why won’t he contest?

“We will not relent to ensure his name which is already known gained more wider and broadest publicity in and outside Bauchi state. That is our mandate and we will continue to do just that, and we have distributed a large number of posters to our OSM Local Goverment coordinators in all the 20 LGs in the state,” he concluded.

Real Reason Buhari Didn’t Disclose His Candidate For 2023 – Osinbajo’s Promoters

Chairman of the Public Opinion Leaders Group, a unit of The Progressive Project (TPP), Shettima Umar Abba Gana, yesterday said President Muhammadu Buhari didn’t disclose the identity of his preferred candidate ahead of the 2023 presidential election, during an exclusive interview with Channels TV on Wednesday because he was being democratic.

President Buhari, while responding to a question about who his preferred candidate was, said, “It is a secret.”

He said, “No, I wouldn’t say because he may be eliminated if I mention him. I better keep it.”

Asked if he was interested in who eventually succeeds him, the President said, “No. Let him come, whoever it is.”

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the headquarters of Media Trust Limited, publishers of Daily Trust and other titles, Gana said, “We don’t know what exactly our current president would do but if he says he has no choice or he is not selecting anybody, it is quite in order.

“The president today and even till that time of election cannot tell anybody he is favouring anybody. He has to be independent for all candidates in his party and even those not in his party.

“I don’t expect him to come out and reveal the identity of whoever he is supporting. That won’t be democracy.”

The group called on Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to run for presidency, saying as vice president he has the firm knowledge of what Nigerians need and would deliver if given the mandate.

“We started this project because we found out that in a few years, there would be some changes and we want to be sure that we get what we think is one of the best people that can continue with what has been done and even improve on it,” he said.

Politics / Northern Youths Back Osinbajo To Succeed Buhari, Oppose Same-faith Candidacy by Joylove2324(f): 10:03am On Jan 06, 2022
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo’s rumoured presidential ambition got a boost on Wednesday as some youths drawn from the 19 northern states and Abuja converged on Kaduna and tipped him as the best man to succeed the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), in 2023.

They said the North should concede the 2023 presidency to the South-West geopolitical zone and in particular to the incumbent Vice President for continuity’s sake.

While noting that Osinbajo was fit to take over from Buhari, the group, however, warned against fielding candidates of the same faith for the position of the President and Vice-President in 2023.

According to them, the Osinbajo can be paired with a candidate from the North in the next general elections.

The youth stated these at a joint conference on northern political participation and power shift in the North held at the Arewa House, Kaduna.

The conference with the theme, ‘Northern Agenda: our real solution’, was organised by the Arewa Consensus Assembly in collaboration with Joint Participation for Development Initiative and National Partnership Campaign Project.

The youth also said Osinbanjo had qualities to lead the country to greatness in 2023 and beyond, and warned the North against not conceding power to the Vice-President.

They said failure to do that would incur dire consequences to the North’s interests.

While saying that Osinbajo’s presidency would unite Nigerians, the northern groups noted that his administration would roll out strategies capable of bringing to end banditry and all forms of threats to the sovereignty of the country.

At the end of the one-day conference, the groups in a 29-point communiqué, said, “The true desire of the North is a better Nigeria for all, where there is hope and fulfilment.

“That the North recognises that there is an urgent responsibility to build and foster confidence between the different ethnicities and geopolitical zones of Nigeria, as well as mitigate religious differences and insecurities between the people of Nigeria.

That the unfortunate perception that the North is determined to hold on to power, including by attempting to foist a retention of the presidency in the North, is causing division and mistrust for northerners by other ethnicities in Nigeria.

“As such, all things considered, and for both the short and long term interests and benefits of the North, the joint conference resolves and hereby declares that it is appropriate, invariable and inescapable that the choice of the presidency in the 2023 elections must emerge from the South-West region of Nigeria.

“The consequences of the North’s failure to accede and participate in ensuring and supporting rotation of power to the South-West will be dire for the short-term and long-term political and developmental interests and relevance of the North.

Although the joint conference made its above deliberations, considerations and resolutions in the broader interest of the North and not partisan or specific candidacy, it notes that the Vice-President, Prof Yemi Osibanjo, SAN, GCON, fits and addresses the questions of balance, qualities and attributes expressed and resolved by the joint conference.”

Rejecting the same faith ticket, the groups added, “The joint conference states that it is abhorrent, unacceptable and roundly rejected by Nigerians that the presidential and vice-presidential ticket will be dominated by candidates of the same faith, such as Muslim/Muslim. Under no circumstances should any aspiring or hopeful political party or candidate be a consideration in the current national state of Nigeria.”

The communiqué was endorsed by the leaders of the Arewa Consensus Assembly, Daniel Shawaulu; National Partnership Campaign Project, Alhaji Suleiman Makama; and the Joint Participation for Development Initiative, Alhaji Khalid Mohammad.
