Take a solid 2 weeks break off anything tech. Give your PC a break. Probably travel out of your city for those 2 weeks.

Do these and thank me later

Raypawer:
kennyinsua, you can get your team start it up nd come here to ask fir help wgere necessary nd not letting the cat out of the bag!

I currently run a startup and through collaboration we have been able to achieve through collaboration
1. Get 5 practicing medical professional to work with us for $0.
2. Get our financial analysis and projects done for $0.

I am just a programmer and myself and my team run a platform that serve a community of 15,000 people with health related stuffs on a daily basis. Through collaboration we engaged over 2,000 people on 3 hours period on health sensitive information.
Though we spend a few thousand of $ on a monthly basis, we still do get most of our stuffs done for free through collaboration.

So, am not saying that people should come to nairaland and start giving out there ideas to the community, as a matter of fact, i haven't done that in a while now. But within ourselves we know the people that can help us turn our idea into a product, and all that won't happen without talking to them.

See am not saying that am completely right about what i wrote up there Raypawer.
But there is a this proverb by Bug Bunny that says that don't take life too seriously because you would never get out alive.

In this life you can't be too careful, you end up being a fuc*ing lunatic. Am serious, you can't just can't be careful enough. You know why because in tech it's just impossible.

I just wish that i could explain what i feel with words but i just can't. I can't as a person say i have the idea that can change the world without sharing it with people, i don't work alone and i never would. Who is going to use is me, nah.

I tell you, if you are obsessed with your idea and you telling nobody, i say it today you would most definitely launch crap or better worse never launch a product.

You should be careful but you can't be **** too careful. It kills you.

I write Java and primarily develops for the Android platform.

One of the Key problems that i have had with completing project is bad architecture, if the architecture is bad i really have issues completing the project because in m head it's just doesn't look or seems finished. So having a solid architectural design of the solution is key for any project i intend working on.
Programming / Re: Be The Next Succesfull Technopreneur by Kennyinusa(m): 11:47am On Mar 25, 2015
I solemnly disagree with that the poster above me is saying. I have probably told about a 50 people about what am currently working on, and when i say people, i mean tech savvy people. But i believe that there is nothing they can do about it because, they have no idea about what my execution strategies are, what am doing currently and what i would be doing by the end of tomorrow.

Though i understand that it can be risky and stupid especially if your idea is too raw and you haven't yourself made any research about what it entails, what your course of actions are and so on.

Before sharing your idea online, make sure you have named your solution or idea, then go ahead and buy your domain. Then make some research on the key aspect of idea. Then draw out or map out a plan or strategy of operation and monetization. Now start something and make sure you make some progress on a daily basis.

You can not pitch your idea to people, please do not tell what your strategies or selling point is. Just keep the pitch at bay and get feedback, Take everything you have heard to your drawing table and see how well it correlates with what you have planned out. All this thing would even help you in developing a better product.

I think it's time i take things personal.

GEJ is clueless. And he is not worthy of being called the president of Nigeria. I am right now ashamed of calling myself a Nigerian.

I have never listened to a president this clueless, except maybe for the president of Ghana.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Telling An Interviewer How Much You Were Being Paid In Your Last Job by Kennyinusa(m): 10:25am On Mar 12, 2015
You are very right @op.

There was one interview i went for and the interview asked my how much my last pay was, i didn't lie to him but i told him $Bleep and then he asked how much i wanted for this job of which i told him 2*$Bleep = $XXXX and he told me that getting an 100% raise from my last Job was not what he can guarantee, he now started counseling me that i would have to reduce that blah blah blah.

For the next two week, they kept calling and i gave excuse that i was not in town, believe me for two weeks, they were still calling. At this stage i knew that if i wanted even more money, they were most definitely going to consider it.

At the very end he offered to pay the $XXXX but i turned them down because i got an even better offer.

So for me, asking the question is not the problem but knowing what you are worth and how desperate you are.

The truth is at the end they would still fire your ass, especially if you are smart.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.

Programming / Re: How Good Are Nigerian Programmers? by Kennyinusa(m): 5:01pm On Mar 05, 2015
NumberOne2:
Nigerian Developers are VERY good and are of international standard.
They have apps on INTERNATIONAL app stores like Google Play, Blackberry World and Apple Store.
This means that those apps met INTERNATIONAL requirements before approval on those stores.

I can only give credits to app that made it to the Windows phone Store and probably that Apple store. And we all know that they are the only one's that really certify apps based on UI/UX and security concern. And i can also tell you for free that these platforms constitutes only 20-30% of the smartphone market in the country.

I can tell you for free Today that 9 out of 10 Nigeria apps are stupid. It is either the UI is bad or the experience is awful or the technical support is ridiculous.

I have installed virtually every application that has Nigerian origin and i can say that they are mostly crappy.

If parents can pay above =N=350,000.00 as tuition fee for their wards to attend a good school, Private university at that. I must say it's a pitiful site seeing this Ajebo dem putting bucket on their heads to fetch water just because the school cant provide normal and basic amenities for the students.
Check out pictures of Redeemers University students fetching water in the school, the school cafeteria and moreso they will be starting their exams in two weeks time and they don't even have tables to write on. They are being told to write their exams on their laps.

There is no need to relocate students to the permanent site when all necessary facilities are not ready for the student.

They had to relocate because NUC was on the verge of revoking there license for running from a TEMPORARY site for more than 5 years.

Now I plan on getting into the job market soon, how much do you think should be the basic salary I should aim, and where do you fellows think I should look into (location wise)

I believe that you need to actually be a master in one of this language for an employer to actually take you seriously. Then i believe that you can charge something around 1000USD
